"Friendly, helpful place"
These folks care about their guests. This is especially helpful to tourists who need advice about the roads, sights and how to fulfill their expectations. From the hotel reception to the restaurant staff, all went out of their way to meet our needs. Rooms are small, but the property is large with beautiful gardens, a large pool, and a range of extra services to meet your needs. Extra friendly to cyclist and hikers.

we both enjoyed our first stay at the le Chene hctel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent and good value for money. We ate our evening meal in the hotel on each of the three nights of our stay.

"great little place"
This hotel was so quaint and gorgeous and the staff very accommodating and friendly. We had the attic room so getting our luggage up and down was difficult, but the room itself was comfortable. The location was kind of remote when it came to getting around, but it was very close to the airport which was nice for our early morning flight back to London. We had a great time at Le Chene

"Good place when connecting between flights."
Quick overnight stay whilst between flights. Nice 2 star place, better than I was expecting given the star rating. Had a nice outdoor pool that was still warm in the evening despite the cool breeze at the time. Surprisingly good dinner - somewhat out of kilter with the two star accommodation rating - felt much higher quality! Big portions too - couldn't quite finish. Happy with my stay, and within walking distance of the airport (no night flights to disturb).

"Basic"
this hotel is very basic, our room was not that clean Re: the electric plugs by the kettle was covered in dust that had fallen from the ceiling, and under the shower screen on the side of the bath it had black slim, also the room was not hoovered while we where there. I would not return to this hotel.

"dissapointing"
our first room had loose wallpaper, the bathroom had mouldy tiles and a shower which sprayed the wall, after being moved, the second bathroom was slightly improved, but still not what you would expect in a 'superior' room the decor throughout hotel could do with a facelift, very tired, and not up to standard...majority of staff very friendly, but gentleman at the front desk was lacking customer service skills, and a friendly smile. the saving grace of this hotel was the excellent food, hats off to the chef.

"Generally good"
We had a friendly and helpful welcome. Our room was clean and comfy, the bathroom is a little dated and the shower was a bit underwhelming, but nothing worth complaining about. The breakfast buffet was ok and the cooked menu to order from was good. We had a ten minute walk to the local shore which was very nice and scenic, other we went to St Peters Port which was a 10 minute taxi ride (or an hour to walk). A very handy location for the airport.

"1 night stay ok, not for longer stays"
Very close to the airport, dated decor , extremely narrow halls, paperthin walls, bathroom so small the sink couldn't fit and was therefore in the bedroom. Very tired looking hotel. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, hairdryer present but very old and did not work well, bring your own. Musty smell in the bedroom. Very friendly staff. Room itself good size. Only stayed 1 night, did not use restaurant or breakfast. Would not recommend for longer stays,

"Dated hotel, would benefit from a moderniseation"
Were first shown to a room that was damp and smelt musty when we complained we were moved to another lighter much airier room that was not like a dungeon. The hotel itself would benefit from some modernisation perhaps the owners should spend a night in a premier inn to see what a modern clean environment can provide. the bed and bedding was clean and fresh but the ensuite bathroom left a lot to be desired the bath and the skylight window were filthy and would benefit from a clean in fact we even had to remove offending spiders. I would class this as a budget hotel and not worth the price that we paid. Having said that Breakfast was excellent.

"No frills hotel, a good base"
I stayed for two nights in a single room, reasonably comfortable, with ample space and ensuite facilities. Rather dated decor, but a satisfactory bed. This hotel is on a busy main road, so is noisy if the weather is warm necessitating open windows. There is a downstairs bar which was open both evenings I was there and a small lounge with books and board games. The breakfast/dining room was light and airy and the service was efficient. I didn't use the pool nor the bike hire service. Close to the valley road to the delightful Petit Bot Bay.

"Good Location for Chaos"
Stayed for two nights while attending the Chaos motorcycle/music event as it was only about 4 miles away allowing an affordable taxi ride to the venue each evening. Very helpful staff, comfortable room but bathroom and some facilities are due a refurbishment. Dinner good value. Most guests when we stayed were in the older age groups. Walking distance of the airport for an ATM.

"Great hotel"

Visited for 3 nights. Arrived very early( 8am)on Friday and staff were most helpful in getting our room ready for us in less than an hour! The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. We ate an evening meal one night and it was delicious and at £18.50 for 3 courses excellent value. Lovely gardens with swimming pool jacuzzi and steam room which was lovely to relax in. Hotel is a bit noisy during the day being so close to the airport but this didn't bother us as airport doesn't run during the night. Would definitely go back. Thanks for a lovely stay

"Short midweek economy break"
06/22/15 RayC1948 Southampton, United Kingdom
We booked a 4 day break in an economy room on a bed & breakfast basis. We were allowed to book in earlier than stated, the first impression of the room was "dated". There was some notable shortfalls in the room. There was no heated towel rail, and no controllable radiator heat.(although it was June, the evening were quite chilly) as the toilet/shower room radiator thermo valve was broken and the thermo valve in the main room was jammed. The duvet was very lightweight and the pillows were flat and hard. We requested additional pillows but they never materialized, even on a second request. There was a kettle and cups in the room with teabags, coffee, hot chocolate and a singular packet (3) biscuits on arrival. It was somewhat hit and miss as to whether they were replaced daily! (The buiscuits were never replaced for our stay and the hot chocolate replaced only once) The towels were replaced on the same hit and miss system, on one day we asked room service to return in 5mins whilst we changed our shoes and did not return - we had to ask reception to get the room made up! The carpet was never fully hovered with cotton strands /fluff on the carpet for all our stay! Breakfast was good, a nice selection of juices, cold fruit and cake,/rolls. The cooked breakfast was served on really hot plates. The full English was well presented but the tomato and mushrooms were tepid. We had kippers on morning which were really good. (We did not dine at the hotel in the evening) Should we decide to use this hotel again, we would upgrade to a superior room with the hope of that being an improvement on what we experienced in the economy!

"Le Chene Hotel overnight stay"
06/16/15 Philip R Monmouth, Wales, United Kingdom
We stayed overnight at Le Chene and had a fantastic time. They have lots of things to do and we wished we could have stayed for a week. The amenities included cycles, electric bikes, mopeds and even a car for hire at the hotel. We had planned on hiring an electric bike but in the end we decided to walk everywhere as we were only there for the afternoon and night. We walked down the water lanes to Petit Bot Bay tea rooms (about 20 minutes walk) for lunch - again the food and service was super. Back at Le Chene, we relaxed in their Jacuzzi which was free. They also had a sauna, outdoor pool, table tennis and garden games. In the evening, we walked to The Deerhound gastro pub (300m) for dinner - fish and chips super and great value. Then we walked to The Mallard multiscreen (another half mile) to see a film in 3D (San Andreas). The bed was really comfy, the room adequate - decoration a little tired but fine for us. The breakfast next morning was fine and then we had family join us for Sunday lunch which was excellent. The room cost £70 b/b which we thought was excellent value for money.

My friend and I have just returned from a wonderful week in Guernsey [my 7th trip]. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the airport, plane noise is minimal as they don't fly throughout the night. Ideally situated for Petit Bot beach [beautiful] and café also the Little Chapel and watchmakers. Everywhere is easy to get to using the island bus service which stops outside the hotel and we saw most of the attractions. The hotel has a lovely pool, sauna and hot tub set in a lovely garden. The food is amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities required. The owner is very approachable if you have any issues and they are rectified almost immediately [my radiator valve was stuck]. I would and have recommended this hotel to all my friends and relatives - expect to be busy next year!.

"Good location, paper-thin walls"
06/09/15 bmh53 Southampton, United Kingdom
This hotel is a short walk from the airport, major bus routes, and a very pretty beach, which is great. We'd wondered if airport noise would disturb us, but in comparison with the noisy neighbours it was quite bearable. The room we stayed in had walls like tissue paper and we were really disturbed by late-night TV watchers and early risers. It was very disappointing, especially as it was not rock-bottom pricing.

Lovely little hotel, slightly outdated decor but is clean and tidy and the service was great. lovely view out back with pool, hottub, sauna and quaint little garden. Best part... the breakfast! We didn't eat dinner as we went out in the evening, but wow the breakfast had an amazing choice, good service and the full English was the nicest I have had not greasy at all. lovely little hotel in a good central location on the island. Does the job! Would visit again.

We stayed here as we had an early flight and needed somewhere to rest our head. We feel it would have been better sleeping in the car at the airport! £86 room only -the room was dated and in need of an upgrade and the bathroom was disgusting dirty and black mold all around the shower tray. Would definitely not recommend this hotel

"Perfect for the Airport"
05/11/15 Tone8906 london
I booked this hotel because I had an early morning flight on s Sunday morning and no buses were running at this time to get there. It is a 10 to 15 minute easy walk up one road to get to the airport. The hotel is fine I stayed in the single room near the lounge and restaurant which was a slightly noisy location but ok. The room was very spacious. The restaurant was very well laid out and huge being recently done up serving an excellently laid out breakfast.

Ravioli was starter sized but on the same price menu as the other items and was hard and uncooked. The prawns with the stake were so over cooked they were hard. On the plus side the service was friendly and prompt. Would not visit again willingly.
