Excellent property and service was even better. Mac was a great butler, and the hotel provided us with a meeting room for our client meetings. Also tried the kickboxing class, which was an excellent workout!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Probably the best city hotel in the world"

Superb, faultless....whatever adjectives you wish to apply. The Spa is sensational, as is the restaurant and quality of service. Goodness knows how they can make money, but that's not my problem, unless they decide to cut back or drastically increase the prices. The perfect place to stay when visiting such a busy city.

my second stay in this awesome hotel. Just on the river bank, it is magic. from teh time you check in to when you leave. The butler service is outstanding. But most of all is the design, landscaping and the troves of art works n the hotel who makes it so special. , You are like staying in a private mansion where nothing is too much for every staff you meet during the stay. A real gem.

We stayed four nights at this amazingly beautiful hotel. In our view you could NOT fault it if you tried. Our friends stayed there just before us and they agreed it was perfection. Rooms are huge and stunning, best linens in the beds I've ever seen in a hotel staff utterly outstanding. THE FOOD is the very best quality taste and presentation. Never eating croissant for breakfast as they are generally greasy I could not stop eating these delectable pillows of deliciousness!! Best breakfast we've ever had together with the breakfast of The Three Chimneys in the Isle if Skye Scotland!!! Both QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY! We're going back to the Siam on the way back home and were definitely going back next year!
Absolutely the prettiest place I have ever seen! Quite neighborhood. Really upscale. I can't say enough about this place! Its breathtaking. The views. The foliage. The people. All make this place special!

Magnificent and unique hotel property located in an upscale, quiet neighborhood directly on the river. The antique collection, the architecture, the grounds, the huge, luxurious rooms, and amazing personal service add up to a fantastic experience. Still humming la vie en rose which was playing in our room. The most accommodating and visually beautiful property. My only disappointment is that we live so far away that I might never be able to visit again

We stayed here at the beginning of our holiday I would say one of the best Hotels that I have stayed in whilst in Bangkok My room was amazing the way it was set out hugely spacious and contemporary everything you needed in one room the hotel was very peaceful .I was greeted on arrival by a young man who said he would be my butler for the duration of my stay he was extremely helpful and after breakfast he would come over to our table and asked if we would like help in anywhere to visit within Bangkok .The restaurant sits over looking the river with spectacular views ..One very big bonus was the Hotel provided free of service a boat which you could book from reception now this was perfect as to get around Bangkok can be difficult We took the boat taxi several times a day and would be dropped off where it was safe and then catch the mono rail we could confirm the taxi back by calling our Hotel and the boat was always on time to take us back we even booked restaurants and had sun downers whilst waiting to be picked up ..I would defiantly stay here again you felt treated like a king here thank you for making my stay so welcome
"The Best, Full Stop"

The Siam is the best hotel in Bangkok. If you're travelling to the city--as a couple, on business, or tout seul--direct yourself to the Siam first and foremost. Book yourself a "muay thai" massage. Enjoy a pad krapow at the restaurant (order with spices, "pet tamada": be bold, traveller) and idle poolside. Enjoy your fabulous massage with its attendant tea and fruit. After staying at the Siam twice, once when transiting through Bangkok and again when returning, it's already inconceivable that I'd do anything else. If the Siam is booked out, I might as well stay under a bridge. Huck and I decided to try the Siam on the advice of friends in the city. Arriving from Europe as we did, we used the airport pick-up service--an excellent choice. The driver was, as we came soon to expect from all Siam staff, courteous and friendly, and the conveyance excellent. (A side note: most of the conversation was in Thai, so I can't speak for the hotel staff's English proficiency. All of our email correspondence was in English, however, and was fine.) What did I notice first when arriving at the Siam? The staff are methodologically polite and, in short, Thai in demeanor--regardless of whether guests are Thai or not. Every time a staff member passed by, front-desk manager or maid, he or she took the time to smile and wei. (The "wei" is the Thai greeting, hands together with a little bow and smile.) This meant a lot to me, as staff members at western-friendly venues will generally wei less and less, and I've come to see the gesture as directed toward westerners as doubly meaningful. The rooms? Beautifully laid out. On our initial stay, Huck and I stayed in a "mae nam" ("river", in Thai) suite; on our returning stay, we had a complimentary upgrade to the pool villa courtyard. Huck mentions that the Siam is a suite-only hotel, which is apparently a mark of distinction (?). The "mae nam" suite was a joy to behold. The room was divided into three parts: bath and toilet, bed, and sitting area. The interior decoration was a tasteful mix of French art deco and authentic Thai consistent with the hotel in general. The king-sized bed was perfectly arranged and the mattress proportionately comfortable. The bathroom (which consisted of a bath as well) had an enormous rain-maker shower whose shower-head, to my delight, was high enough that I could stand on my toes and not touch it. Huck tells me I'm peculiar in my enjoyment of showers, but when one distills a hotel to its essences, the main factors are bed, toilet, and shower. Short-comings in any will rock the foundations. The Siam, needless to say, was excellent in all these essential dimensions. New to me: each room at the Siam has its own personal butler who helped book restaurants and tours, and recommended landmarks for our visit. As our stay in Bangkok was rather short, we took advantage of this only in arranging boat transport (the Siam is on the Chao Praya river and has its own riverboat). Being sport-oriented, Huck and I made extensive use of the Siam gym during our stay. The quality of this gym was notable for a hotel: Life Fitness machines instead of the usual crappy Technogym, free-weights, a smith machine, open space for floor exercises, and even a small boxing ring. Just enough for a full cycle of body parts. When we provided the staff with protein powder, they were able to make workout smoothies, too. Combining this and the spa, I'd say the Siam is one of the more fitness-friendly accommodations we've patronised. On that note, the spa capped our delight in the Siam. The Siam masseuse was happy to bend the ordinary "relaxing" spa massage into a deep-tissue affair with great effect: I not only felt well-massaged, but well cared for: the staff took the time to follow up and make sure of the treatment's efficacy. (Note: be specific on what you like, as Thai massage is rather methodological and avoids certain parts, like glutes, that most people don't enjoy.) Each treatment started with cool "nam bytoey" tea in the spa lobby and ended with hot ginger tea. Everything from the massage oil to the pre-massage steam room was carefully managed and proper. On our return trip, Huck and I were upgraded to the pool villa. I mentioned earlier that the "mae nam" suite was a joy. The villa, then, was an entirely different landscape of joy, having its own pool and embedded jacuzzi, sun balcony, and courtyard. The room consisted of a main chamber, adjoining room for closets, and cavernous bathroom. Of the many positive things I can say about the villa, one that I can't say, however, is that the pool was heated: it was too cold to use in all but the hottest parts of the day. Heating components in the pool would have made it much more usable! It's hard to pick out anything bad to say about the Siam. In fact, nothing at all springs to mind. I do, however, have a suggestion. While the hotel goes out of its way to be "Thai" in terms of its service, I noticed other guests being a bit confused on how to respond. The hotel could help out a little in communicating to guests how best to respond--a guide of sorts, maybe as distributed with the welcome packet of material. Doing so would also serve to strengthen the brand identity of the hotel. In short, the Siam is the best we've experienced in Bangkok, and has set the bar. From its meticulously polite and friendly staff to the gorgeously-furnished rooms to the gym and spa for wellness--it has it all. Enjoy your stay at the Siam! K and Huck
"I'd fly all the way back to Bangkok if to do nothing else but stay one more night at The Siam"

After not having a proper night sleep for 3 nights, my body was over-tired when we first entered the Siam hotel around 2:30 a.m. in November of 2014. A feeling of euphoria engulfed me as we walked into the luxurious lobby that opened up to courtyards with massive nine level infinity fountains with magnificent trees that were evenly placed in the fountains and reached high into the sky. It felt magical. We were graciously escorted up to the second floor to our room, room no. 204. The pathway to our room wrapped around the fountain-and-tree filled courtyard. The rooms covered three floors in the shape of a rectangle with a hollow center with the trees reaching up higher than our floor. I realized the following day that the hotel also had more rooms closer to the Chao Phraya River. There are not enough adjectives to properly describe how heavenly it felt to walk through the Siam Bangkok after consecutive long travel days. The Siam was exceedingly lovelier than any photos we viewed online. Our room at the Siam was exquisite. We walked into our room that had soft music playing in the background, a lovely small living room with fruit, wine and water displayed on a small table, a gorgeous bedroom separated by the living room by thick curtains, and a spacious bathroom with double doors that opens in the center of the bedroom. The room was gorgeous and was just a standard suite. It's almost unfathomable how amazing the superior rooms must be. Our room had an oriental feel to it with a king size bed and down comforters. The bathroom had a large stand-alone porcelain tub, two sinks, and a separate shower. The hot shower felt incredible. I felt like royalty having access to this luxurious bathroom. After I showered and got the past couple of travel-days of filth off of me, I melted into our bed. It felt like heaven. The Siam hotel was quaint, with just 39 rooms, 28 of which were suites. The hotel was secluded from the outer maddening city, while still being close enough to visit the city via vehicle or water-taxi/shuttle. We went to and from the Grand Palace area via the water taxi. It cost $0.50 or less and we were dropped off by a bridge just on the other side of the hotel. It was a convenient location and a fun river ride to the some of the top touristy spots. The hotel also offered a shuttle service. Our complimentary breakfast (included with the price of our room) at the Thai Restaurant at the hotel that overlooks the Chao Phraya River was outstanding. We had a full menu of options. I ordered a chon omelette with white prawn, corn, coriander and crab. My husband ordered a meal that was prepared in a wok, which included flat rice noodles, bean sprouts, mussels, shrimp and squid. Both were tasty and delicious. All of the meals we had during our entire trip during our stay at this hotel were extremely flavorful. The hotel also had a floating dock that we drank cocktails, ordered appetizers, and were mesmerized by the beautiful of the sunset during our stay at the hotel. It was a perfect way to end a more than perfect day. While the hotel was not cheap, it was absolutely fabulous and the rates included breakfast, butler service, and a speed boat shuttle between the hotel and Sathorm Central Pier, which is near the Saphan Taksin BTS Station. We had such an enjoyable time at the Siam hotel that I told my husband I would fly all the way back to Bangkok if to do nothing else but stay a night at the Siam Bangkok.
"An oasis of calm"

While chaos reigns in the centre of Bangkok this hotel has an air of serenity and calm - take advantage of its own river boat shuttle to avoid the traffic jams. For me it had a feel of "New York contemporary - The Hamptons in Asia". For those of you from the UK this is what I believe they had in mind with "hotel du Vin" before their service and food went downhill! Great size suites, great food, great gym and in-room entertainment - staff cannot be more helpful. Only negative is the outrageous cost of wine but that applies across Asia
