"Nice hotel close to almost everything."
It was a nice vacation for me and my wife. We enjoyed or stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, but basic"
The hotel is operated by a pub. On weekends the pub takes over the place, with folks hanging out on the stairs. It is a small, well located old hotel. The rooms are clean and basic. Air conditioning was good. Room layout was weird, the bed was a small full size, and there was one chair and a small table, no closet. Bathroom was ok, clean, but door opened […] directly onto bed, very little room to move around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming, old hotel. Close to the Metro."
I was only in my room to sleep, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location and clean. Cheap for DC. No working WiFi. No water pressure to speak of. When I arrived, the bed had no headboard, but you could see big splotches of glue where the old headboard had been. They replaced the headboard one day, but at auch lower height and didn't bother about the splotches, which still showed. That is exactly the level of […] maintenance seen throughout the hotel. It needs a major reno, but then it won't be so cheap. Pick your poison. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"DuPont Circle--Convenient Location"
I stayed at the Baron Hotel in the DuPont Circle area of Washington, DC. This hotel is not a chain hotel, but more of a standalone. The hotel was in a great location, located near many local restaurants, bakeries and shops. It was also very close to the Metro, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Panera Bread and the bus. The hotel has a bar/tavern that serves food […] in addition to shows, games and other fun events. I also took notice that there was loud music 2 out of the 3 nights that I was there. I am unsure if it came from the bar/tavern or a nearby location. It did keep me up at night. Additionally, the bed wasn't all that comfortable, so please don't expect a plush, memory foam or pillow-top bed. Other than that, my stay was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One if my worst experiences"
Booked a room in advanced. When I got there to check in they informed me that the room doesn't have water or ac unit. They offered to accommodate me in another "sister hotel" in the middle of nowhere. Something is seriously wrong with their customer service and their responsiveness. Never go there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location 5 min walk to Dupont Circle and 5 min Bus to Georgetown. Don't expect any luxury or extra conform.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One Step Up from a Youth Hostel"
This is not much more than a youth hostel. Rooms are bare bones. Old vage type elevator . ScaryGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good site as base to see city and Dupont Circle"
Had two bars. some music sound from bar till 12. Not problem for us. Had comedy improv one night. Had a good stay, convenient. good food nearby. Parking in city very tough. A few spaces in front of hotel free all day except 4-630.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location - but needs refurbishment"
not good - front too old, dirty, needs revamping e.g. only 2 seats in the lobby, seriously!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Low shower pressure"
The shower pressure was terrible but other than that, it was a great price, location, and service was good. Plus when you stay you are offered s discount on food from the tavern downstairs. The bed was huge and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"obviously an older hotel but very relaxing."
had some trouble operating the elevator at first but finally got the "hang" of it. It was fun. Don't change a thing!Genuine Expedia guest review
Actually loved itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Will not stay here or any other of their sister hotels.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just near everything"
It was good stay the hotel isnt traditional it in a brownstone so it more homely and it has alot of places to go to eat and great sights to see nearGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Two short blocks from the DuPont Circle metro stop (red line) - easy to get anywhere in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, simple, great area"
This hotel is nice and old but they do their very best to keep it clean and comfortable. There is nothing fancy about the room, it's a bit like staying in a great aunt's spare bedroom, but it's so clean and the bathroom was new and updated - so nice! The hotel is also in a very diverse-restaurant neighborhood and around the corner from the yummiest […] Moroccan restaurant. The bar downstairs in the hotel is also super convenient. The rates we got had me had me slightly concerned about the quality of the room but I was very pleasantly surprised! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pretty cool stay for a weekend"
I was in DC for 2 days for event. Nice cozy hotel with a restaurant inside and you get a discount. Didn't get a chance to try the food. The room overall was pretty nice the only con was the ac unit in the window its an older hotel so they use that. My room was pretty warm and muggy upon arrival but after i turned the ac down it got better. the bathroom […] is kinda small but superrr clean I liked it. It is very compact though. Breakfast is just bagels, toast, or doughnuts. OJ is pretty good. Its not too far from the Dupont Metroline station so getting around isnt that bad lots of eateries around as well. Then again this was my first time ever in DC. For the price I paid it was pretty cool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well, it's DC."
Nothing special, really. We were only there for the one night, so it's a bit difficult to judge. Breakfast (included) a bit uninspiring, but staff helpful and happy to hold on to luggage and print boarding passes. Given the location, the proce seemed OK, if a bit uppish for waht we got.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, nice employees, cool bar."
But be aware, they provide no parking, and parking in DC is terrible!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great bar downstairs"
If you've stayed in small family owned hotels in European cities before, you'll feel comfortable here. The room is small, but tidy and clean, and you'll spend most of your time wandering the city anyway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Did not honor reservation"
We had reserved a week stay at this hotel. When we arrived we were informed our room was overbooked and we could split our family into two single rooms, (kids 10 and 12). I informed the clerk this was unacceptable as we had reserved our room one month prior. The manager gave us a room, 15x15 square with one king bed and an inflatable single mattress […] stacked on the bed needing inflation. The staff did not give any care for our stay. Due to the lateness of the evening we stayed, but checked out the next morning. Thanks to the efficiency of Expedia they were able to secure a very nice hotel one half block away where we stayed comfortably for the remainder of the week. In my opinion I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, do not stay here is my advice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good value in a great area"
I stayed in the tiniest room ever at the Baron (203), but it was clean and functional and comfortable. It is a very quirky place with a cool vibe. Good deal with breakfast, too. Probably not for families--too crowded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good stay"
Friendly personnel, small but clean room, excellent bathroom, it was up to expectationsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent for price"
Very nice hotel in a great location right next to DuPont Circle. The rooms were very clean and the bedding and furniture is taken care of. The breakfast is pretty minimal but there are several breakfast options just around the corner. The only complaint I had was that the toilet in the bathroom leaked. Since it took me one of my two nights there to […] realize where the water was coming from I decided not to mention it until checkout. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worn and dated"
The hotel room was immaculate but overall it was worn and dated. Expected more for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel in a quiet area"
It is a very nice hotel in a quiet area, near to subway. There was a nice tavern with lots of beers from America and Europe. A tasty continental breakfast is a big convenience before an exit to explore.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was satisfied, the bar and food was above excellent! the hotel staff varied, one day it was great the next very poor.Overall good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked the front of house staff. Cleaning crew could have been friendlier/known like 2 words of English. I speak Spanish and they still weren't into saying 'hi', but whatever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was cramped. No ventilation . Air conditioner did. Not work well. It was to have 2 queen not one queen and 1 twin bed. Stated wrong times for breakfast. No matts on floor of tub, could easily fall and injure self. Plug in bathroom didn't work. And poor replacement of towels.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not what is was shown to be."
Baron Hotel was a HUGE disappointment!!! The online pictures do NOT match the rooms that you are given to stay in AT ALL!!! And....even though it was said to include "complimentary continental breakfast", we were told that breakfast was extra. The beds were creaky and uncomfortable, the elevator was ANCIENT, and the shower was "quirky".Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, fun Euro vibe"
We enjoyed our one-night stay -- no complaints and everything was solid. Booked only a few days before our stay and it was reasonably priced for the area. A great option if you like a nice Euro style to your hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Feels like you're in Europe."
This little place just blocks from Du Pont Circle is perfect for someone who plans to actually go out and do things in DC. I had a small but spacious and bright bedroom with a small bathroom that was all that was needed. The desk staff are nice enough; don't expect to make a new best friend or anything. Just understand that parking is a nightmare in […] DC (as with most cities). They offer a vague map of "nearby" parking lots so figure that out ahead of time. Or better yet take the train in! Loved the location as it was close to everything. Room however was incredibly tight, 10" between bed and bath door, and did not have a clean feel. Found soil marks on towels and sheets. Headboard was fabric, a no no in this time of bed bugs and lice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"the Baron/ NOT Happy"
Please look at your record of my calling in to complain, beginning right after I checked in; I am anticipating two things: 1) $100 credit or coupon for my next Hotels.com booking, and 2) a 15% discount, credited to my MC, per agreement between Hotels.com and Baron management.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect. Great place, very nice bar with tons of beer from all over the world. Food was pretty good too. :)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We appreciated the desk clerks and their helpfulness. Room was nicely furnished and attractive. Good value. Old hotel, with modern rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and clean however the mattress very squeaky. I will return because you can walk to the mall or Georgetown!.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bargain hotel in DC"
This is not a luxury hotel by any measure, however, it's very conveniently located and quite charming. There is no fitness center, business center or refrigerators for the rooms. There is a restaurant/bar with reasonable prices, however, we did not eat there so couldn't recommend the food. The elevator is probably 100 years old -- you have to hold open […] the access door and the metal screen at the same time to try and get into and out of it - which is nearly impossible with luggage, not to mention - it's tiny in there. The rooms are clean. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Dupont Circle metro station and close to a grocery store and a lot of restaurants. Overall, it's a budget hotel that I would recommend to a friend. "Very nice hotel"
The hotel is very nice. The staff is friendly and it is very clean and neat. The area is very nice and there are lots of places to eat nearby. The room was a little on the small side, but still nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for one night"
Excellent location, excellent pricing if you're only staying for one night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Easy to get around, close to the metro, very clean and nice room for one person, not too noisy. Staff could be more friendly and attentive but if service is not too much of a big deal lets say that any questions asked they'll answer to. Overall good and cheap if you go tandem.Genuine Expedia guest review
I got a great deal on from Hotels.com The place is exactly what I paid for The breakfast muffins were goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"European style hotel with mixed service."
When I first got to the hotel, the check-in process was fantastic. I had great recommendations for places to visit and places to eat. I started off with this positive experience but it declined from there. As the weather got muggy, the room remained damp whether we ran the air conditioner or not. On one of the last days of my stay, the cleaning lady […] left the room to my hotel room open. While I was lucky and nothing was stolen, when I told the staff that night they dismissed it. Basically I was told that if nothing was stolen, then they couldn't really do anything. I didn't even get an apology or any real sense of regret from them. I wasn't comped anything on my bill or offered a complementary continental breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Should be below 3*"
Location is nice, but the bathroom is really small (as well as hotel room). It's like European 2* hotel for size. Breakfast is very disappointing (no veggies, only white bread and bagel) - Obviously nothing like European hotels.Genuine Expedia guest review
