Good location, short walk to the Royal Mile but because of slight distance it was was very quiet. Breakfast was nice in the morning - good way to start the day! Rooms were spacious, dishwasher, fridge and oven microwave all high quality white goods. No complaints about the hotel and would recommend! "A great hotel"
This is a cracking hotel, the area is smart, reception is well laid out with great staff. Rooms are large and well furnished- walk in shower with great pressure, ipod dock, tv, fridge, microwave and even a dishwasher! All appears to be brand new so cleanliness is impeccable. Beds comfy, and rooms well sound insulated as never heard a sound from elsewhere. […] Also love the room height windows with good views over the city. Breakfast very adequate, excellent range and kept well stocked. I wish all hotels could set such high standards! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. We booked into the 1 bed apartment which was very comfortable. "Great hotel near to all the main attractions"
We stayed in this hotel over New Year. It was lovely and clean with spacious rooms and a fantastic breakfast every morning. If I was visiting the city in the future I would have no hesitation in staying here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel and staff were lovely. The hotel itself was very clean and staff were very helpful. Good breakfast with plenty of choice - I would definitely go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"excellent facilities but soundproofing poor"
Our room was very well appointed with a small kitchen area with microwave, sink, cutlery and crockery and a small dishwasher. Everything was clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was a quiet location but not too far to walk into town. However I can't give this hotel 5/5 because our room had a connecting door to the next room which was […] not at all soundproofed. I don't know if all the rooms are like this but it was a definate negative point. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Couldn't have chosen a better place for a conference in the Old Town. Very comfortable. All possible amenities. Spotless apartment. Generous breakfast. And the staff were outstanding when a personal problem arose - I was extremely grateful to them. As a woman travelling on my own, this was an excellent place for me to be.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A quiet corner yet centrally located."
A very warm welcome and room was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety to suit all tastes. We loved the location, convenientally close to all the attractions yet away from any traffic noise and in a pleasant area near to the University and the Meadows park. It couldn't have been better. We loved having our own kitchen allowing […] us to eat in when we were tired after sight seeing. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our friends. The Marriott Residence is perfectly situated, ten minutes walk to Waverley Station, Princes street. The is whole building is very new, housekeeping immaculate and the staff very helpful and friendly. The apartment suite was ideal with the living and kitchenette seperate from the bedroom and furnished very tasefully. Also we heard no noise in our suite […] from the hallways, other rooms and outside. The staff can also have any food, drink etc shopping ordered and delivered for you to your apartment. There is a local sainsbury, costa coffe and fantastic Malaysian Restuarant literally next door. Would definately use the Marriott Residence again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Large room with sofa bed, kitchen area and bathroom. Ipod dock alarm clock. Clean and new with ice maker machine on every even numbered floor. Great breakfast including take away cups for hot drinks. Very pleasant stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was better than I expected.......usually take reviews with a pinch of salt but was massively suprised.....the hotel lived up to all descriptions. Would recommend to everyone, great value for money for short or long stay as you get a mini kitchen if you want to eat in....buffet breakfast was provided with no extra cost which was great as all other hotels […] I had looked at charged £7-10 each per day. Location was great,10mins from the royal mile and castle. Also had pubs, coffee shops, restaurants and supermarket just around the corner. I hope this hotel is maintained to the same standard because I would definately stay again in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great room in a great location."
Lovely big room, very comfortable sleek and modern. The staff couldn't have been nicer as well. The location up behind the old hospital is great and there's a supermarket in the same development. It is also nice and quiet at night. Could perhaps use some instructions in the room on how to work the little oven/microwave thing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to shops, bars and restaurants"
Very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with information on how to get to certain areas of Edinburgh. I,d find it hard to find any fault with my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in the middle of a development area so the surroundings are not completed although not an inconvenience. The only issue was that there was little variety in the breakfast offering.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Brand spanking new in top location"
We found the brand new Residence Inn to be great value for money. It has an excellent location right in the heart of Edinburgh walking distance to all the sights. The in room facilities were fabulous especially the rain shower and quality linen. Although we didn't really use the kitchenette we were fascinated by the choice of including an oven, but […] not a cook top! While the Residence Inn typically caters for longer stays, we found it to be a very workable option for a weekend trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent central location to must see sights"
The hotel room and facilities were of an exceptionally high standard, the rooms were well equipped with modern facilities and provided an extremely professional service. Breakfast was higher than expectations. Location perfect for access to all the must-see sights. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff were excellent, the hotel room was great layout with having a seating area and kitchenette. The only downside to this great hotel was the temperature control in the room and the corridor. I had read reviews about the hotel having this problem on the 7th floor and thought it couldn't be that bad. It was very hot indeed, we were out in […] Edinburgh all day and when we came back into the hotel to shower up for the Madonna concert we couldn't wait to get back out. The room was so warm that you didn't feel comfortable sat in the living area. The owners need to install air conditioning urgently or their customers won't want to return. "Clean, comfortable, welcoming staff"
Slightly disappointing breakfast, repetious, however it was classed as 'complementory'. Very clean, spacious rooms. Just a little bit too far from the main attractions as Edinburgh is rather hilly and it's tiring being a tourist!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel south of Edinburgh city centre"
Excellent hotel and in a very good location - just a 10 minute walk to the Royal Mile and away from all the bustle of the central area. The 'Quartermile' area is a new development and so the hotel is less than a year old, but as a consequence there isn't much else in the immediate area - just a Sainsburys Local and a cafe (Peter's Yard). Other things […] are planned though. If you walk for 10 minutes in any direction there are plenty of good pubs and restaurants. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Residence Inn Edinburgh"
Very good value for money. The staff are professional, helpful, friendly and charming. Cleanliness is paramount here, rooms and circulation spaces spotless. The location is excellent for sightseeing and getting about. We self catered as that was an option to do within the rooms and within the new concourse there is a local Sainsbury, and eateries which […] we found useful, however many people enjoyed the hotel breakfasts and we did take advantage of the fresh croissants. All in all a very pleasant stay and a great base to explore Edinburgh and its surrounds. We will return! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An Outstanding Hotel"
The hotel was ideal for our short stay in Edinburgh and gave us the facility to cater for ourselves as and when we chose (even a small Sainsbury's around the corner). We stayed in a one bedroom suite which would be ideal for anyone spending more than a couple of days in the city, which gives you more space and another room to relax in. The staff were […] outstanding from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Having pointed out that we couldn't find the shaving plug socket in the room they immediately came upto the room with us to see if they could find it. When this was not the case they went straight back down to reception and came back up with an adapter plug for us to use. The location was very handy, only 6 or 7 minutes walk to the Royal Mile. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of a full English, cereals, or continental. You even have the option of taking it back up to room if you wish. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Residence Inn - clean, modern hotel"
Fairly central location, 10 minutes walk into town. On site Starbucks and Sainsburys and under hotel car parking (NCP) which, if you present your ticket at checkout is £12.80 for 24 hours. Lovely, clean hotel. Very comfortable, large bed. Ipod docking station (excellent as i forgot my iphone charger), clean kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom is a little […] unusual in that the sink is outside the bathroom - however with two sharing its a good idea. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and gave us maps and various tips on sightseeing. The breakfast was fairly standard. Fresh fruit and cereals, pastries and bread and toasting area. The hot breakfast wasnt amazing - sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans but it was sufficient to keep us going until mid afternoon. For what it was, cheap and cheerful, i would definately book again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Three of us stayed in 1 room for 1 night, great size room, neat little kitchen area, big powerful shower, very clean. Room was very warm.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Residence Inn Edinburgh - very good"
Residence Inn is a new hotel. It was a bit tricky for us to find them since our sat-nav would not accept their postcode, but we managed in the end. It is surrounded by new office buildings and luxury apartment - many of them are still empty, as it is still under construction. There is a car park right next to it, it cost us £12.80 for over night stay […] (with 20% discount from the hotel.) The reception area is tiny, it looks like you are walking into a bar, but the girl at the reception was very polite, friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice, new and clean. The kitchen area had microwave, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, good range of kitchen utensils, etc., which would be useful for the guests for long stay. We had a problem with our TV in the morning, signal problem or something but nothing major to complain about. There is a nice swedish bakery & cafe called Peter's yard just around the corner from the hotel, where they serve fabulous coffee, cakes, salad, sandwich and pizza. It was worth staying in this hotel just for being close to the bakery! All in all we were quite satisfied with the hotel, the value for money is good. We would stay there again. Nice location.Very good and comfortable rooms.Really high speed free internet.Small place for breakfast, too small lobby for a 4 star hotel, very poor breakfast.Poor facilities(ex:they had not even a thermometer!).Serious problem with cleaning the room!!!I would suggest someone stay in this hotel only if some conditions changeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good and all round excellent experience, the only minor downside was the building works going on around the hotel, however that said we had no issues with it and spent our time wandering round Edinburgh.Genuine Expedia guest review
"New, good value, but TOO hot."
this hotel seemed brand new, the staff were very helpfull, but a faulty connection on the tv ariel system meant we had to change rooms. the corridors were extremely hot with no air, and the bedroom windows did not open, making it stifling at times. The non exhistant air ventilation system needs to be addressed, then, it will be a good hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for seeing Edinburgh"
Handily located near the University and the National Museum of Scotland - about a ten minute walk from the Royal Mile and the city centre.
