"Great hotel. Would recommend."
Lovely suite. Bedroom and bathroom small in comparison to lounge and kitchenette area. However that is a design fault! Loved our stay. Was very quiet despite being in a busy part of town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wanted to visit Edinburgh for the weekend with my girlfriend and do touristy things, and was thoroughly impressed with the hotel! "Great value apartments in a fantastic location"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn. We arrived early but were allowed to check in straight away without any issues. We were warned that the hotel was fully booked and that breakfast might be busy but we still managed to find a table straight away and couldn't fault the service or selection. There were a few more sweet options than savoury […] - it seemed like it was aimed at American guests - but everything we had seemed fresh and tasted good. It is based at the Quartermile which is walking distance from the West End, City Centre and Royal Mile. Our room was spacious, clean and modern. The kitchenette was well-equipped and supplies can be picked up round the corner at Sainsburys. The free wifi was helpful too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Couldn't Fault It!"
We received excellent customer service from check-in to check-out. The hotel is situated on a fantastic modern development complex. Location is great, a very straightforward and easy walk to all attractions. Breakfast was plentiful with both hot/cold options and you can take it away with you to your room or on the go. Room was very clean and spacious. […] There is secure parking underneath the hotel but you are charged by hour increments/flat 24hr rate (the hotel does however provide a discount). Would recommend to anyone for business or leisure! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Stylish hotel in good area"
We only spent 1 night, but we were upgraded to a suite. The room was very spacious and modern and comfortable. The area is modern - well it is an area that is being renovated - but close to the traditional areas. It was very peaceful at night - which is very useful in Edinburgh.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Residence by Marriott, Edinburgh"
The hotel is situated in the Quartermile area of Edinburgh which is a 15 minute walk in to Prince Street. It was not a problem in the way in because we were walking mostly down hill. The return walk however could be difficult for those who are not overly fit. Other than that the hotel was perfect, we had a small suite with microwave and fridge, etc. […] The breakfast each morning was fine and overall we were very pleased with the hotel. We stayed for a long weekend in Edinburgh. This hotel was ideal! Great staff, great location. Only small issue was the slight noise you can hear from hall, but did not disrupt our stay. Would definitely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
To be honest I was very very disappointed! the room was dusty, there was 1 lift for 7 floors we never got in the lift without having the farce of going up and down before getting to where we wanted to be! we would of used the stairs but we were on the 6th floor. The breakfast situation was appalling couldn't get a seat people stood waiting for toast […] eggs sausages etc.. I wouldn't of cared if it was cheap but when you are paying for 4 stars you expect a 4 star experience I wouldn't recommend the Marriott to people if anything I would discourage people from going!! the bed was very uncomfortable the food they served was snacks!! it makes me wonder how the Marriott has got a good reputation?????? the facilities were very limited. And to top it all we paid £25.00 parking i have never been to a hotel that doesn't provide parking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Easy walking distance to centre of townGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed two nights at this hotel and were very impressed. The staff were friendly and gave us lots of great suggestions on things to do and see. We left our car in the underground parking next door and were able to walk easily to Edinburgh castle. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we could have hoped for - nice couch, kitchen area was […] well equipped and the shower was huge! Would definitely recommend this hotel. "Lovely birthday weekend x"
Since it was my birthday the staff organised a top floor room with the only view of Edinburgh castle, bottle of wine etc in the room! Very friendly and kept our bags the next day so we didn't have to carry them around the city all day. Very helpful. Hotel very close to all tourist attractions. Only small small issue- Cigarette ends on the balcony that […] were not ours. Other than that, great weekend! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ve.ry pleasant surprise"
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay , could not have faulted the Hotel for cleanliness comfort and breakfast , the room was near to being if not 'The Largest 'we have been in , initially thought the location was a wee bit out of the road but only a 5-10 minute walk from the Royal Mile , as usual parking in Edinburgh can be difficult […] but the car park adjacent the Hotel is well used by customers . we will be back . "This is a modern hotel close to the Meadows."
This new hotel is close to the Meadows and a great location for all of Central Edinburgh. It is less than a mile walk to anywhere we wanted to go. There is a Stabucks right there, along with a few other nice restaurants, and a small grocery store in case you need anything. It is a private area and not on a major road at all, so it is very, very quiet. […] I think once the area, which is still being developed, is complete, it will be busier but will still be quieter than some areas, and it will be a nice modern place to be, in the lovely old city. The Quatermile may become, "The place to be!" This hotel is a part of the new Quartermile, with new condos and flats for sale nearby. It's central location is ideal, and the parking, while not free, was very convenient. The room was lovely, and we enjoyed the suite with the kitchen, lounge and bedroom. The breakfast was in the lobby. It was very tasty, and I liked how informal the seating was. But, I might worry if I booked this hotel again, since the seating for breakfast was limited, if I were on a time restriction. The staff at this hotel were super friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was never a wait for anything, as the staff always seemed to notice if a line was starting, and new staff would come to help. I would definitely stay here again. It felt safe as well. The rates were good and I can not think of anything I would change. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Situated in a quiet zone close to the university."
Exceptionally warm greeting upon entereing the reception area and checked in quickly most professional yet inviting manner that instantly provided that welcome that has never before been experienced in all my travels before. The host took care of registration without delay providing needed details of amenities and answering my questions made me feel […] a valued guest going beyond offering and walking over to the nearby fridge picking me up water and taking my dinner order assuring me the meal will be brought up to my room by the staff. There was wide choice but it was quite easy to make a choice because of the added personal touch of the host. Immediately I knew I made the right choice of hotel. Absolutely no regrets! "Very welcoming, modern hotel"
The best thing about this hotel are the staff - genuinely welcoming and eager to serve, well trained, and nothing too much trouble i.e. excellent customer service - other hotel chains take note! We also loved the views from our room on the 7th floor, the balcony, and the small kitchenette in the room, which meant we usually ate lunch out and then saved […] money on an evening meal by preparing something 'at home'. Our only grumbles were: 1) it was a 20 min walk to Princes Street, up and down steep steps (though we discovered a shortcut via Lothian Road on our last day) 2) Lack of veggie options at breakfast - the staff member we spoke to said that others had also complained and that they were looking into doing something 3) Sounds strange, but the toilet in our room was mounted a bit too high, so that my feet didn't fully touch the ground when I sat on it (and I'm an average 5'4"). A bit uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it! All in all, a pleasant stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very pleased with our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very helpful, great location for exploring the city, and very clean! Loved it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here anumber of times and rate it as one of the best value hotels in Edinburgh. But, there is no aircon and very yucky the hotel can become stuffy and at night unbearably hot. Fans are provided but you'd expect a new hotel in the prestigious Quatermile to have factored in aircon!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful city, decent hotel"
Modern hotel in a great location within walking distance of the Old Town, Edinburgh Castle and other attractions. Room was very spacious, but looked directly onto a glass office building. No air-conditioning made it uncomfortable when trying to sleep. Staff did try to remedy this by providing an additional fan upon request. The hallways were also very […] stuffy. Bathroom was very poorly designed. Toilet/shower space was so tiny you could not have the shower door open and access the toilet paper dispenser. Breakfast was disappointing. Eggs had little flavor and fruit was not fresh. However, easy access to plenty of dining alternatives. Parking situation was frustrating. Had to use underground car park at neighboring premises and pay for a new ticket every time you re-entered. Hotel did provide a discount on the cost. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, shame about the lack of air con!"
The room had everything we required, the bed was very comfortable. However, we were very surprised and disappointed that the room did not have air con. It was very hot at the end of the day and during the night, after the sun had been on the windows all day. We couldn't understand how a hotel that was only eighteen months old had been built without […] this feature. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Modern hotel in great location near to Edinburgh Uni and Greyfriars. Within 20 mins walk you can be on Princes Street or George Street. There is a small Sainsburys and several coffee shops within 100 yards and plenty of pubs nearby. Not too many restaurants, but only a short walk to the Royal Mile etc so not a problem. We stayed in a suite on the 7th […] floor and it was great to be able to sit out on the balcony of an evening - with views across to Edinburgh Castle in one direction and the mountains in the other! There is also a free breakfast...and PC with printer attached for those needing to check in for flights. Perfect! Only one, very minor, gripe. "Lively stay at a lovely location"
Had a very nice four day stay. The facilities are modern, comfortable and quite spacious for the UK, and the rooms are quiet. The location: just south of the old town, is ideal for tourists. The kitchenette is also a bonus for cooling a bottle of wine, or storing pre-dinner snacks. Staff were all friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. And I loved […] the free wi-fi: I can't figure out why other large-ish hotels charge exorbitant rates for such a simple, helpful service. There were only two down sides: 1) that the (free!) computer in the hotel lobby was unable to print our boarding passes, due to the cumbersome software installed there; and 2) there were no rooms with king-sized beds. . But those are rather trivial things to complain about! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great welcome - almost!"
Our first impressions were good with an exceptionally warm welcome for us and our (small) dog. Indeed as it was raining hard when we took the dog round the The Meadows after a long car journey we were given a towel to dry the dog down whislt we were brought tea! We could not ask for more or have felt more welcome. As all dog owners will know a dog is […] a great ice breaker with fellow guests whether or not they themselves are dog owners. So the first evening we got chatting at the bar with various guests and sat down to a light(ish) supper whilst the dog settled under the table. As it was graduation week at the University we should have guessed that there might be some celebratory rowdiness from the new graduates wobbling home. If we choose the same week again I would definitely shut the bedroom window! Coming down to breakfast the next day was close to a disaster - a new person on reception "hi-jacked" us and told us in no uncertain terms that we could not have our dog in the public area; all this said in a loud voice thus ensuring we became the unwanted centre of attention. We felt humiliated. Next this person asked whether we had seen the terms and conditions for allowing a pet in the Hotel - which we hadn't telling us that we should have signed this on arrival etc. I'm sure that he was only doing his job - it just came out all wrong. Peace was made but left us with a "guilty" feeling. Happily the our fellow guests made up for it - proving a dog is a passport to friendship. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
