Bridge Inn - Cumbria (county)

In my books this unique inn is a much more enjoyable place for an overnight stay while on business than a typical hotel. The Bridge Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was simple but comfortable and warm, and the breakfast was delicious - especially the local sausage. Liked the cosy atmosphere in the bar. A fabulous location for cycling or walking and good value too.

I was looking for a place to stay to explore the mountains surrounding Wasdale. The Bridge is an excellent location...great in fact. The Bridge inn is a kind of Oasis too especially after a hard days fell walking. The foodis very good indeed....not super cheap, but high quality..and tasty,so that easily justifies a couple of quid extra. The beer selections […] are fantastic.... a lot of choice too Staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Breakfasts very much. Traditional English pub with comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. My single room was small but clean and had everything I needed. Evening meal was lovely as was the breakfast. Overall a great place to stay; I will be back!

We chose this hotel because of the great reviews. We can now add our own fantastic review to the long list... 1. Arrived - had forgotten to book a dog friendly room on arrival 2. A wedding reception was taking place that night so we were advised we would have to go into a 'noisy' room above the disco 3. We accepted this - our error after all - but […] then the manager said - 'oh it's only a small dog, I'll put you in a 'no dogs room away from the noise'. It's a very long time since we have received such brilliantly customer focused service. As if this were not enough, there is absolutely nothing about the hotel to find fault with, from the decor and comfort of the rooms, to the lovely bar food and the excellent staff. We stayed at the fantastic Bridge Inn on Saturday night. We were visiting the Lakes and wanted to stay over this time so we looked for a nice hotel in the West Lakes. Finding somewhere we could take our dog was important for us and that's how we stumbled across the Bridge. From when we arrived right through to when we left we were treated extremely […] well.
