If you have to pass a night by the airport this place is perfect,you have it all state of the art room with comfortable bad,all kind of small gadget nice amenities and a spa, just know that once in Italy you might have some small surprise early check in fees 30 € and if you want non stop wi fi or to be in a lounge were you have nice wine and fingertips food you add 30 € other than that you can relax and be ready to your next flight

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great. The complimentary breakfast had a great assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, cereal, and croissants and bread. . It is across the street from the lake so the view is pretty from the rooms.

Non-smoking room had an ashtray and the bathroom stunk of smoke. Bathroom door had no latch and would not stay closed. Bed was very firm, but is typical for these airport hotels. Close to airport with free shuttle, good breakfast spread, no in-house resturant, but local "family" resturant with shuttle was very good and affordable. Good value.

Excellent service. The staff was polite and respectful. You won't be disappointed. The stand up shower seemed a little small. I was there one night so it wasn't a big deal. Overall great place to stay.

My husband and I travel extensively, typically with our 1 year old, and typically stay in quite high-end "chain" hotels. We decided to look for something a bit more intimate and found Albergo Svizzero. You feel like you are staying in the home of the most wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating to our needs with the baby and communicated well […] in both English and German (and of course Italian, which we don't speak). The restaurant, you can tell is a popular place in town, as it would get pretty full at night. The food was very good and consistent. I loved that in the mornings, sometimes we would be running late (baby was still jet lagged), and they would leave a table ready for us, clearly indicating that they knew we hadn't eaten yet. At most places, if you miss breakfast, too bad! So, this was nice. The rooms are far from beautiful. The decor is very dated, to the extent that it's a bit funny. I realized I didn't care a bit though, as they were immaculate. Every square inch of the room and bathroom was spotlessly clean, and that is, by far, most important to me. We went during winter time to shop at Foxtown, but I was imagining how stunning this area must be in the warmer seasons. It's literally 2 minutes or less from the door of the hotel, and you are standing at the edge of Lake Lugano. It was quite easy to get to Foxtown. We had a rental car, but I noticed a train just across from the hotel. I'm not sure where this train goes, but it gave me the impression that it's easy to get around from Svizzero. We parked our car, at no cost, just in front of the hotel. I truly cannot say enough good things. This is actually the first review I've ever written about a hotel, so it's meaningful! Die Zimmer und die oberen Etagen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sie sind aber sauber und wenn man nicht zu hohe Ansprüche hat, definitiv o.K! Solange man den günstigen Preis bei Hotel.com bezahlt. Was wirklich genial ist, ist das Restaurant. Die Preise sind eher hoch, aber sonst absolut genial und lecker. Die Pizzas sind Gross und Gut belegt, die […] Spaghetti sensationell. Das Essen und der Service im Hotel waren fantastisch. Das Zimmer war schreklich! Es war sehr sehr klein, sehr heiss und hatte keine Klimaanlage. Länger als eine Nacht hätten wir dort nicht verbringen wollen.

Das Hotel ist als älteres Gebäude nicht sehr komfortabel, sehr verwinkelt gebaut und ohne Lift. Das gehört aber zum historischen Charme des Hauses. Mein Zimmer - Doppezimmer - war sehr eng, altmodisch eingerichtet mit einem nicht funktionierenden Kühlschrank und einem winzigen Fernseher. Dafür ist alles sehr sauber. Für Leute, die Ausflüge machen wollen, […] ist die Lage super: Gleich neben der Monte-Generoso-Bahn und in der Nähe des Battistero in Riva S.Vitale .Das dazugehörige Restaurant wäre - was das Essen betrifft - eigentlich gut (kenne ich von früheren Besuchen), der Service ist jedoch jedesmal ein Ärger. Das Personal ist bestens geschult, die Gäste zu ignorieren. Obwohl gut sichtbar an einem Gartentisch positioniert wurde ich am abend 20 Minuten lang nicht bedient - um 18.30 Uhr hatte noch keiner Lust, sich um einen einzelnen Gast zu kümmern.
