"One Night in Hotel Heidelberg"
The hotel is very nice, in a pleasant area but walking distance to the train station. There are many nice restaurants and shopping available. The room was quite spacious. The room itself had the normal two single beds pushed together as a double, however these were really two separate beds and could not in any way be used together. The only other issue […] was noise, first what sounded like moving furniture after midnight and lasting for over an hour. However I hope this is not a normal event. Then an extremely loud vacuum in the hallway before 8 in the morning on a Sunday. I had been looking forward to sleeping in, but this was not the case. All in all I would probably stay in this hotel again.

"clean, cheap, great location"
this nice hotel is located on a quiet street with several resturants and cafes and a bakery right next door. the room was clean and in good condition. The city location is great, a short walk 5-10 min. from the Zoo station. Also close to the main Ku'damm shopping street. Be advised that you are asked to pay the evening before check out, and you cannot […] have anything from the bar put on your room bill. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I felt welcome!"
The staff did everything they could to make me feel welcome and they succeeded! Their hospitality, friendliness and flexibility was outstanding. The only thing keeping me from giving all 5's is that the room lacked any form of air-conditioning or fan and this was during one of the hottest days of summer.
"Good value for money"

Conveniently located and comes for a fair price. However don't expect any luxury, the hotel provides very basic but big rooms. A plus is definitely that they take care and are friendly. The room decor seems from the last century but the rooms are absolutely clean. There are a couple of restaurants around as well in case you look for food. We haven't had breakfast here as there are so many other places to explore in Berlin. Overall we were satisfied with our stay as our intention was rather exploring the city than staying inside anyways.

Stayed in Berlin for a week and stayed here at the Hotel Heidelberg Knesebeckstrasse. Its in area called Sauvnyplatz which is a great place a little off the main tourist route. Its a little quieter but has lots of cool little bars within a short walk of the hotel. If your looking for luxury and service at your beck and call then this place wont suite you. Its a relaxed little hotel, staff are great, rooms are a bit older but clean and well maintained, breakfast is optional but its the usual German breakfast with cold meats, cheese, cereals and fruit. Its only average but that's to be expected as you will get what you pay for, For us the draw is the location, the room size and the cost which is really reasonable. Brandenburg gate, Teirgarten are about a 15-20 minute easy walk. The UBahn is close by. Lots of restaurants, cheap cafes and bars, banks and post office are all within an easy walk. We did a lot of bars and clubs while there and walked back to the hotel at all hours and never had a problem. If you are doing Berlin on budget and want something more up market then a B & B or a hostel then check this one out.
"Ideal for city trip"

I chose this hotel due to his location and - it really worth of it ! Neraby the U Bahn and other transport possibilites. Near the hotel a lot of rests and pizzas and so on, almost for acceptable prices. Hotel itself has two faces- one is really not for bad sleepers , rumble from the Knesebeckstrasse is terrible (for me no problem, my wife was a bit excited :D). The rooms on the side to the courtyard is absolutely calm and pleasent. Generally are rooms a bit worn but not so critical. Breakfests were all very good inspite small breakfest room. Service and i mean all stuff in hotel were very friendly and helpfull, beside german also well english speaking. I think the hotel is well rated no only by travelling couples but also families. For you EURO city trip through BERLIN this hotel I can fully recommended.
Room was ok.bath room was ok.balcony was nice as smoking was not allowed in the rooms so the most loved thing was that balcony..lolzz . Location was good and quiet & close to bus station.have to walk for 10 minutes to find Halal food.
"good location - bad service"

positive: good location, just minutes away from u bahn and s bahn too, ice railway station as well. close to kurfürsterdamm, anyway its very silent. very good breakfast, fresh meat and cheese, fresh brötchen, fresh ham and eggs and so on. good feeling in lounge. you can watch the pedestrians from big windows during you drink xour coffee. outside its cool. nice and helpful stuff, but... negative: old fashioned room with old furnitures, some of them maybe remained from the '80s. funny old tv with no channels. old sofa fall to piaces after every sitting down. double bed is actually two single beds, so it slips apart even during the night when you turn to your other side. anyway its comfartable apart from this. no free wifi just down in the lounge, in rooms have to pay for it. (come on it's the 21st century!) ellevator always had some problems. during 5 days cleaned only once. no clean towels, stuff is only helpful but not working. just the location makes it 3 out of 5 points!
"Bargain plus great location"
This hotel is a great find for convenient location in a big city. The price is right for clean rooms with good bathrooms similar to most Western style hotels. It was warm in Berlin when we visited in mid June so having windows open was a must. Fortunately this hotel is in a quitter area and rooms at the back are on a parking lot/court yard. Many restaurants close by. Rick Steves raves about the East side of the city being the place to stay, but to me the East side seemed to be plagued with too many people and late night hustle and bustle. We found it easy to get around Berlin by public transportation. A 10 euro cab fare will get you to Brandenburg Gate, which is cheap for 3 people. Point is no reason to stay right at the East side sites unless crowds and noise are your thing.

I booked a single room, but got a big room with double bed and 2 sofas, with a huge balcony. The room itself is a bit old fashioned (although clean), but it was not a big deal for me as I spent there only 2 nights and during the day I was in the city. The bed was a bit soft and squeaky, but I slept well. Breakfast and wifi in the room was not included in the price (50E/night), but there is complimentary wifi in the reception/restaurant area. The location is not in the center, but it is good - it takes 16 minutes to get to the airport by bus, There are 3 metro stations within walking distance and you can also take the excellent public bus 100 which stops nearby. This will take you to Alexanderplatz with passing the most important sights of the city center. Overall - it was not bad, but also nothing special. I booked this hotel quite late and had limited choices at that time.

I spent two nights in hotel Heidelberg coming to Berlin for business trip. Booking this hotel I found that it is within 4 minutes from the metro station Savigny Platz. Being sure it is easy to find I didn't print a map. It was my big mistake! I spent about an hour (!) searching this mysterious Heidelberg everywhere and asking people. Well, finally I found it, because one local guy shared the 'secret' with me - you need to pass Savigny Platz and you have to choice middle street then. Well, Heidelberg looked quit cozy, but my room was extremely small with old furniture and really small (like in train) bathroom. You need to weight not more than 60 kg to be able to take shower there! Otherwise half of the body will be in corridor when you are trying to shower. I liked my breakfast and good internet connection at lobby. My sleep in Heidelberg was good too as I got backyard room. But the best was Heidelberg location! It takes you 8-10 minutes by SBahn to get to the centre. Berlin is great place to see and explore, so even old furniture can't spoil your positive impression. Especially when I solved my business task well and had some time left for Dali exhibition!
"Not noise from outside, but from inside is the problem"
04/20/13 Austriacus Steiermark
“Hotel Heidelberg” is favorably situated in a calm street of a quarter with plenty of restaurants, predominantly of Italian cuisine. It is only 10 minutes walk away from the public transport hub “Bahnhof Zoo”. The friendly façade of the hotel and the multi-purpose entrance hall serving as reception, bar, TV room and breakfast room gave a positive first impression. This was tarnished to a certain extent when I entered my room. It was clean and quite spacious, but did not look nicely. The furniture was of a rather cheap kind and partly in bad condition. A maze of cables was lying around on the floor. The cathode ray tube TV (!) was laughably small. Beware of this hotel if you envisage to watch TV in your room! Not even a list of the available TV channels is provided so that one has to find out by oneself. At least, the hotel had respected my wish to be given a room at the backside of the building. The room was equipped with everything I needed: A little desk (though rickety) with a small, but to my satisfaction very powerful reading light and even a rack for undoing the suitcase. There were net curtains, but no darkening curtains. Instead, interior Venetian blinds were mounted. One of them was somewhat damaged so that the angle of the slats could not be adjusted, which was a little nuisance. The mattress turned out to be comfortable and the pillow was quite alright. However, sleeping was only possible once the guests of all surrounding rooms had apparently gone to bed as well. Up to then the noise was distressing. Whenever the door of a room was opened or shut that of mine vibrated with a loud noise. Originally there was a further door between the antechamber and the main room, which could have damped the noise, but it had been removed. Furthermore, my shower started dripping loudly probably when others took a shower. This is a pity because the place was so perfectly silent as far as outside noise was concerned: no street noise whatsoever! Staff was friendly and sympathetic. The buffet breakfast conformed to what one may expect at a three stars hotel: cheese, meat products (though no fish), eggs, various spreads, cereals and home-made fruit salad, but no fresh fruits. However, the deep-frozen and utterly dry bread rolls and alike as well as the insipid brown bread were deceptions. But this bothered me far less than the noise problem.
"Very good stay."

We were four pairs on a weekend trip to Berlin. We was reccomended the hotel through some friends, and we was very pleased. The rooms was large with very big and comfortable beds. A clean and nice bathroom, and a big relaxing lounge. Also a balcony. In the restaurant, where the reception was, they served breakfast at least until 1200AM!! Friendly staff, and central location. 12,5 Euro for a taxi from Tegel airport. (5km)
