"Great home from home apartment"
Stayed for 1 week mid September 2014- ages 66, 35, 33 and 1 year old. Firstly the apartments- huge! You can tell they are built to be residential originally as they are really spacious with a fully equiped kitchen, utility room, living area and 3 bedrooms. Great pool area with baby pool and full size pool. Plenty of sun beds, never a problem getting […] one. However no bar, restaurant on site so you have to bring your own down from the room if you want drinks. Assume this is due to it being in a residential area. Spotless clean, really modern, aircon not the greatest but we didn't complain as it wasn't really needed whilst we were there. Towels/ sheets changed once a week and apartment cleaned. Location- 15 minute walk into town- brings you out right on Main Street where shops, bars and restaurants are. Not a flat walk however and so if you're not great on the mobility front, best get a taxi (<€5). We always walked into town and got cab back. In a residential area so no shops etc around the complex. Nearest shop 10 minute walk. Restaurant next door to the shop which is definatly worth a visit. Overall I'd definatly stay again but you need to be willing to walk or drive / taxi into town. "Great apartments.. just make sure you have a map!"
Difficult to find... no road names or signs didn't help. However, after a call to the apartments, the manager came out in his car to find us! Pleasantly surprised by how big the apartment was. Included a utility room with a washing machine and 2nd toilet. Plenty of built in storage in bedrooms. Bathroom had two showers! Towels changed twice a week..but […] these are only small so you will need to bring beach towels. Kitchen very spacious and had dishwasher and microwave but no kettle.. Pool was a nice size and plenty of sun loungers available. Located in a quiet area, amongst some lovely villas, about half an hour walk to the village.. would be longer on the way back as is uphill! Carvoiero is a lovely place for families and has the best beaches around in our opinion.Plenty of restaurants to choose from and pretty reasonable prices. We hired a car at Faro which was useful... but be careful as we were given a car full of petrol and told to return it empty .. we were charged 85 euros for petrol to refill it. We were in the Algarve for 9 days and still only used 3/4 of a tank of fuel and yet had to pay the fuel charge.. rip off! We went with two children (8 and 9) and they loved Slide and Splash water park and Zoo marine. I enjoyed the Fiesta Sand Sculptures - amazing. Would happily return again!

As other reviews below great clean, large, good pool, secure as enter through locked gates, just outside vilage.Bazilio most helpfull.do think a car is needed to visit the many beaches that are along this stretch of coast and to give a better choice of restaurants The cost of the car would be covered by saving the airport transfer charge.

Had a great week in these apartments, Brazilio was very helpful. Very spacious and all mod cons. My problem was I have mobility issues so found the walk into the town fine, 15/20 mins walk, but could not manage the hills back home so a taxi was needed every night. Would definately spend more time here for a quiet relaxing holiday.

"Great apartments with peace and quiet"

Just back from a week at these apartments. These are relatively new apartments and in fabulous condition. We ended up in a three bedroom apartment (for two of us). Very spacious and all the mod cons you could ask for – washing machine, cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, wet room shower etc. They are located about 15/20 minute dander from the town centre, be aware however there is a very steep hill if you plan to walk back but we walked out and got taxi back (5Euro in cost and taxis situated at main square). Basilio (manager) was very helpful and took us to a local supermarket which allowed us to stock up the fridge. One thing we were not impressed with was that our apartment bedding was not changed during the week and our toilet bin was only emptied once (literally the day after we arrived) and was not emptied again. As you will be aware you should not put toilet roll down their toilets and therefore we ended up having to dispose of our toilet bin waste ourselves. There is a very good pool area with both a main and children’s pool. Few small things that would have made our stay a 5 star rating – we arrived very late in the evening. The local shop (10 mins closes at 8pm) a small care pack which I would have been happy to pay for with milk and bottled water would have been great. A small bar area would perhaps provide some atmosphere by the pool and allow you to get drinks/ice cream etc for those hot days. An information pack might be useful too – taxi numbers, local recommended restaurants, places to visit etc. However, overall I would highly recommend these apartments and Carvoerio.
"Fabulous value, great location."
Just home from a three week stay in a two bedroom apartment and had a wonderful time relaxing and exploring. Bazilio and his family work tirelessly to ensure that everything is up to scratch, and for us went the further mile by finding us a coffee machine, lending us beach brollies, as well as sorting out car hire and confirming our airport pick up time. We asked for a quiet apartment but they all are, apart from the odd guard dog barking in the distance and some occasional furniture moving noises. Our terrace was south facing and we looked across a small valley with a variety of mixed trees to very distant sea views. We like watching birds and observed many different species from our balcony viewpoint as well as some stunning sunsets. We had more clean towels than we could possibly use and clean sheets every week. The new Wi-Fi booster meant that we could connect from our apartment if we hung out of the bedroom window!! and easily from the pool or reception. A few comments on how things might be improved further... as we arrived very late at night we would have appreciated a small welcome pack with some milk. The nearest shop was quite a hilly hike to get milk for breakfast, but Bazilio did kindly offer to take us to the main supermarket. The beds were hotel quality according to the labels, but too firm for us especially for my husbands bad back. Well, we do have memory foam at home! Smaller pans would have been better. We could have cooked for a family of at least 10 with the ones that were supplied, and we could have done with a few more kitchen utensils. As we were fairly long stayers and lacked the energy or enthusiasm to go out every night we would have appreciated a TV with better sound. The ones provided are not connected to satellite but there were films in English on the Hollywood channel, but we had to guess the dialogue as the sound was so indistinct. The hills are steep but we did find a flatter but slightly longer route to and from the top of the town. All in all minor points which would have made a really good break even better.
"Lovely accommodation, quiet and relaxing"
We are just back from a very relaxing one week stay at the Quinta Polaris. While there were only 2 of us staying at the complex, we were given a 2 bedroom apartment. There was a big, modern, fully fitted kitchen with almost everything you need (bring a tea towel and dishcloth), sitting area with comfy settee and tv, dining area with sideboard and dining table with 5 chairs, a full bathroom and a further toilet room (with washing machine included) as well as a utility room. Very modern with lots of storage space (fitted wardrobes in both bedrooms). Our towels were changed once and toilet rolls were provided during the week. The accommodation is located in a quiet residential area, which made our stay so peaceful. It's about a mile to the main street with the usual bars and restaurants which we walked each day/night. This suited us great - quiet during the day and yet not too far to go for atmosphere, dining and drinks. Beautiful views from the balcony and roof terrace (sunset views were great). There was wifi available at the poolside, but variable connection speed - not that big a deal as we didn't need to use it that often.

This self catering accommodation is the best we have ever stayed in for a 3 star rating. We requested a top floor quiet room and that was just what we got. When we first walked in the apartment we were amazed how spotlessly clean it was.To have 2 double bedrooms when you only pay for 1 comes in handy, if just for the extra wardrobe space. The whole apartment was very modern & spacious,to have a dishwasher & washing machine is really useful.Pool was good size and we always got sunbeds even when all rooms were full. The manager was always around if you needed him he was a nice bloke and he runs the place very well.We had hired a car at the airport so didn't really do much walking to the town.Would go back to Quinta polaris without any hesitation.
"Great place to stay"

This place was such a find. Spacious air-conditioned apartment, beautifully fitted out, spotlessly clean. It was fitted out better than home. Two bedrooms, one with double bed, one with two singles. Plenty of storage space. Kitchen has full-size fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, dishwasher. Main bathroom has bath with shower, hand basin, toilet, bidet and a wet-room style shower also. And there's a separate room with toilet, hand basin and washing machine. Beds were firm but very comfy (and I speak as someone with back problems). Balcony with lovely views and very quiet. We had more clean towels forced upon us than we could use. Bed linen changed and apartment cleaned each week. The pool area was safe and clean. There was a small swimming pool which was chilly on first toe-dip but was lovely when you were in. There was also a tiny, shallow pool for toddlers. We always managed to find sunbeds and a sunshade. Overlooking the pool area was reception with free Wi-Fi for desperate teenagers. Reception also had beautifully clean toilets and shower. One day we went to the beach in town. We managed to hire sunbeds and sunshade for the day. Food and drink could be bought nearby. The sea was icy so didn't venture further than ankles. Town was about a 20 minute walk. If you couldn't make it that far, there were two good places to eat on the way. The nearest was Palmeira, a chicken restaurant, which was a life-saver for us when we arrived late at night (about 10 minute walk). There's a well-stocked mini-market next door. A little further on, there's Martin's Kulinarium, run by a delightful German family, where the food is really good and not over-expensive. In town, there's a range of restaurants - but you must try a "stone steak". You are given a blindingly hot slate and a lump of steak and some sauces. You drop a dollop of sauce on your hot-plate and fry a chunk of steak. Very novel. Altogether, a very good holiday. The manager, Basillo, was so friendly and went out of his way to help. Very highly recommended.
"Quinta is amazing!"

Quinta Polaris was more than we could have ever imagined. Absolutely amazing service from incredibly generous and kind management! The hotel was set in a quiet area, perfect location to sit back and relax. The town centre (and the beach) are a good 20-25 minute walk, quite hilly but a good way of burning off the extra ice cream or 2,3,4,5...! Would definitely return and would love to see Basil (the manager) again! 5***********
