"Great apartments.. just make sure you have a map!"
Difficult to find... no road names or signs didn't help. However, after a call to the apartments, the manager came out in his car to find us! Pleasantly surprised by how big the apartment was. Included a utility room with a washing machine and 2nd toilet. Plenty of built in storage in bedrooms. Bathroom had two showers! Towels changed twice a week..but […] these are only small so you will need to bring beach towels. Kitchen very spacious and had dishwasher and microwave but no kettle.. Pool was a nice size and plenty of sun loungers available. Located in a quiet area, amongst some lovely villas, about half an hour walk to the village.. would be longer on the way back as is uphill! Carvoiero is a lovely place for families and has the best beaches around in our opinion.Plenty of restaurants to choose from and pretty reasonable prices. We hired a car at Faro which was useful... but be careful as we were given a car full of petrol and told to return it empty .. we were charged 85 euros for petrol to refill it. We were in the Algarve for 9 days and still only used 3/4 of a tank of fuel and yet had to pay the fuel charge.. rip off! We went with two children (8 and 9) and they loved Slide and Splash water park and Zoo marine. I enjoyed the Fiesta Sand Sculptures - amazing. Would happily return again!

We where in the country taking part in the Dance World Cup representing Northern Ireland,On arrival we were greated by the manager Basil we would have been lost without him, he provided taxi rides to the supermarket on several occasions and a wealth of information and friendly advice, we stayed 8 days & we would love to have stayed longer because we were made to feel so welcome. The apartments are full of all mod con dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, full cooker, washing machine, iron & ironing board, very spacious apartments with good size bedrooms, we stayed in a 3 bed apartment which had 1 en-suite bathroom & another large family bathroom. It's about a 10/15 min walk into the town but I'd advise getting a taxi back as there's a very steep hill, taxi cost €5. Lots of restaurants & bars in town with a beautiful cave beach. I would definitely return to these apartments.

Cannot fault these apartments in the slightest.. There was so much space, plenty of kitchen facilities and extremely clean. The hotel manager Bazilio is probably the nicest person we have all met, gave us a lift on the first morning to get a full 10 days shop (intermarche). He also provided lifts to beaches that were a bit farther to walk that Carvoeiro town beach. The walk to the main town is only about 10-15 minutes walk there, but longer on the way back due to the hills. The local beaches were amazing, a lot to chose from in means of activities - jet skiing, kayaking boat trips to the caves, the restaurants were amazing. Recommended ones to visit- paradise (an Indian restaurant) and the tapas bar found in the main square, and Primaveria found at the top of the hill from town. We spent a few days by the pool of the apartments, the pool was big enough for everyone. Enough sun loungers for a few apartments to have through the day. We also hired bikes for a couple of days which allowed us to visit other places by the coast - exhausting but worth it! We also went kayaking from ferragudo, which was a 3 hour trip along the caves which also included snorkelling, we managed to see a lot of fishes On the last day before leaving we visited slide and splash, which was a fantastic day. We were told slide and splash is better than aqualand which is also nearby. So make sure you go to the right one. It was such a relaxing holiday, even though we didn't have a car we were able to do so many things, with a little help from Bazilio! He definitely made the stay, such a nice man!

We had a superb holiday at the Quinta. Our original apartment we booked was cancelled and this was given as an option to what was a four star apartment. Why the Quinta has only three stars I do not know. Lovely accomodation, fully fitted kitchen and spotlessly clean. We had only one occasion to speak to the Manager when we had a problem trying to book our return shuttle. He was brilliant did the call for us and gave his phone number for any problems - The driver was lost at 4am for our pick up and we can't thank him enough for what must have been a very annoying dawn phone call. (THANK YOU!) I would definitely recommend a stay at the Quinta and will be back! (Liz Sutherland - Crail).

Returned from the Quinta Polaris on the 13th of June. As all other reviewers have commented you cannot fault these apartments, very clean, roomy with all mod cons. I was surprised the supermarket was a little further away than expected and if you require heavy items such as 5 litre water bottles I would recommend buying these in the evenings on any trips down into Carvoeiro and returning by taxi for 5 Euros to the apartments after a nice meal or a cold drink in the many bars and restaurant's to suit all tastes. A lovely quite clean pool area which was hosed down each morning. We found the manager helpful but not intrusive. Towels changed three times on our 10 day stay and sheets once. Would have preferred a safe in the room for passports, money and paperwork, we locked the spare bedroom door and kept everything in there for safety. I do think a car is advisable particularly if you have any mobility problems. All in all a very enjoyable relaxing holiday.

The apartment is faultless very spacious with all cons you could need. The pool area is quiet with more than enough sun loungers The complex is in a quiet area that is very pretty with views of private villas in their grounds and is quite peaceful. There is a small supermarket within a safe walk of about 800 metres, the walk is slightly up and down, the supermarket is limited. Next to the supermarket is a restaurant called Palmerias its handy and average. The walk into town as stated is about 1.5 km but is well lit and you can walk back very safely after an evening in town. There is one steep hill at the beginning of the walk the rest is just undulating. There is a restaurant not far away on Rua dos moinhos called Martins Kulinarium, the food is excellent and we ate there twice. It is extremely good quality and very cheap, If you like peaceful holidays within peaceful surroundings in good quality accommodation then Quinta polaris is for you.
"What superb value for money!"

We have stayed in many self-catering apartments but I think this was the best. Tons of space for the two of us - I estimated about 80 sq.m. I got the impression that the 28 apartments were all the same format, entering into an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with 2x double bedrooms there off, bathroom, washing machine room, cleaning equipment room, & balcony. The Manager said the complex was built about 7 years ago but you could have fooled me - there was no sign of wear & tear plus when opening some of chest of drawers you could smell the wood, as if they had just been installed. F& Fittings were to a high standard throughout. Lovely quiet location, with very pleasant 15-20 minute walk to/from town restaurants/beach past some lovely villas along quiet lanes.

Just back from the Quinta Polaris where myself and my partner stayed for a week. Couldn't fault the apartment, massive rooms, very clean, two bedrooms, dining area, kitchen great with brand new appliances, bathroom with shower and bath then also an extra shower in wet room area. It's about twenty minute walk to the centre of Carvoeiro, there are some slight hills, easy to walk down but not so great coming back but you can get a taxi for no more than 5 euros in the centre. Lovely bars and restaurants to choose from especially a place called Boneca Bar which overlooks the sea. The manager, Brazillico is great and really helpful, nothing is too much trouble for him, even hopped in his car to try and find our missing transfer coach that was taking us to the airport! Lovely guy. Well worth a visit this place

Booked a last minute surprise for me an the wife. Stayed April 2014 for 5 nights managed to get flights and accommodation for under £130 each with travel republic. We looked around for a couple of weeks as we prefer quieter resorts, this was ideal! Quick private transfer from faro (approx 35-40mins) and due to late arrival of our flight 12am i contacted the resort in advance and the main man Brasillio was there to meet us, no paperwork to sign just allowed us to get straight into the apartment until morning. He is a great guy and always willing to have a chat and help you out as many have said including offering lifts to the town or supermarket. Apartments are huge could easily accommodate 4-5 people, they are very very clean and all the modern cons you could ever need for self catering. My wife said to mention they don't have an hair dryer but they have everything else. The only downside of our apartment was the air con didn't work and the temp really dropped in the bedrooms in the evenings so we had to use the extra blankets. Brasillio tried to fix it but was unable and ended up turning the heating on full blast including under floor heating. The tv is dated but didn't watch it much also the shower rack was a little flimsy and the boiler was leaking a little but they were minor things overall. My only real disappointment was the beds, they really were uncomfortable and had my upper back in pain after a couple of nights. There is one pool and kids pool not very big, we didn't use it as it was too cold. Plus on the day we were leaving the complex filled up with lots of kids. We ate in a couple of days and ate out in town most other evenings. We bought a few snacks from the supermarket (the big one). There are at least 3 closer mini markets which are reasonably priced and have everything you would need without visiting the supermarche. The apartments are a 15-20 walk to the centre and the beach, we did this daily really nice in the sun. There is a frango chicken restaurant on the way down which is a MUST. Fab staff who really try to get to know you. Also recommend casa de bief for a 10 euro hot stone steak, gorgeous! The ice cream place at bottom of hill in town compania galato is amazing if you love sweet stuff like me all the flavours you could want. Beach is fairly small but clean. Water was too cold and rough for us but nice place just to sit and chill. Will definitely go back as our little get away for some quick sunshine. I imagine it's very different from late April onwards in peak season but it has a very nice village feel to it. I think it's mainly elderly people or those with lots of dosh who have beautiful villas. Saw a few youths but literally a handful except there were two guys trying to sell weed on the beach one day/night. Oerall a great place which i will return to. Tip: if booking transfers make sure your UK reference number is same as the Portuguese provider. Ours was different to the company (Green Bus) and we had to sort it out before we could board!

We stayed for 8 nights just before Easter. We stayed in a lovely first floor two bedroom apartment which was very spacious and comfortable with everything you could need on a self catering holiday. The pool area is a good size and kept very clean and tidy and there were ample comfortable sun beds. The only drawback is if you don't have a car, which we didn't, it can be tiring walking every day into the centre as the road back is very steep at the start. Also carrying shopping bags in the heat can be hard. Having said that though the surrounding countryside is lovely and it made a real change to stay somewhere so rural and quiet and we did have some lovely walks. Would definitely stay here again but probably hire a car.

Just returned from 6 days at Quinta Polaris. Very nice apartment, two bedrooms, one bathroom and very large open plan lounge and kitchen with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. Utility room with washing machine All new and in very good condition. Large balcony overlooking open countryside. A very spacious apartment that would comfortably accommodate four people, although one bathroom may be an issue for some. However, I think there were larger apartments with two bathroom and three bedrooms . Good sized pool with a small children's' pool. Not heated though, but fine once you got in!! Wifi in the reception area only, or just outside the door if reception was closed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The complex is a little way out of town, approx. 20 mins walk. Not a level walk so not for the really unfit and we used a taxi for the return trip some nights. Cost approx. 5 euros. Saying that it is a pleasant walk through quiet roads and passed some lovely villas. Halfway along the route there is a small supermarket and next door a restaurant so if you don't fancy the walk into town every day there is an alternative. We did not have a car and there is no public transport in this part of Carvoeiro, however there is a bus service from the town to Portimao, which we used, and from there the Algarve is your oyster!! We took the bus into Portimao one day and then the water taxi to Ferragudo. A nice excursion and we had lunch at the fish restaurant there. A lovely day out! Our first time in Portugal and we will definitely return to sample the rest of the Algarve.
