Stayed for 1 week mid September 2014- ages 66, 35, 33 and 1 year old. Firstly the apartments- huge! You can tell they are built to be residential originally as they are really spacious with a fully equiped kitchen, utility room, living area and 3 bedrooms. Great pool area with baby pool and full size pool. Plenty of sun beds, never a problem getting one. However no bar, restaurant on site so you have to bring your own down from the room if you want drinks. Assume this is due to it being in a residential area. Spotless clean, really modern, aircon not the greatest but we didn't complain as it wasn't really needed whilst we were there. Towels/ sheets changed once a week and apartment cleaned.
Location- 15 minute walk into town- brings you out right on Main Street where shops, bars and restaurants are. Not a flat walk however and so if you're not great on the mobility front, best get a taxi (<€5). We always walked into town and got cab back. In a residential area so no shops etc around the complex. Nearest shop 10 minute walk. Restaurant next door to the shop which is definatly worth a visit.
Overall I'd definatly stay again but you need to be willing to walk or drive / taxi into town.

Difficult to find... no road names or signs didn't help. However, after a call to the apartments, the manager came out in his car to find us!
Pleasantly surprised by how big the apartment was. Included a utility room with a washing machine and 2nd toilet. Plenty of built in storage in bedrooms. Bathroom had two showers! Towels changed twice a week..but these are only small so you will need to bring beach towels. Kitchen very spacious and had dishwasher and microwave but no kettle..
Pool was a nice size and plenty of sun loungers available.
Located in a quiet area, amongst some lovely villas, about half an hour walk to the village.. would be longer on the way back as is uphill! Carvoiero is a lovely place for families and has the best beaches around in our opinion.Plenty of restaurants to choose from and pretty reasonable prices.
We hired a car at Faro which was useful... but be careful as we were given a car full of petrol and told to return it empty .. we were charged 85 euros for petrol to refill it. We were in the Algarve for 9 days and still only used 3/4 of a tank of fuel and yet had to pay the fuel charge.. rip off!
We went with two children (8 and 9) and they loved Slide and Splash water park and Zoo marine. I enjoyed the Fiesta Sand Sculptures - amazing.
Would happily return again!

Really spacious modern appartments only drawback is the walk into town .Bazillio is a lovely guy gave us a lift into town twice. We had a 2 bedroom apt. even though we paid for 1 bed apt.The apts. are surrounded by residential villlas and are pretty quiet.Would recommend Tony's cafe for food reasonably priced and the cakes are lovely.
The apartment was fantastic, well equipped, spotlessly clean and really spacious, we we're expecting a 1 bedroom with a sofa bed, but the manager gave us a 2 bedroom when we arrived, it was so peacful and the view from the veranda was stunning. We were lucky enough to be offered transport from the manager to the supermarket as others have said, and the walk down to the beach was fine, it was only €4 for a taxi back on the really hot days.
Would definitely recommend Quinta polaris for couples and families alike, we only wished we'd booked a fortnight.
Just returned from 10 day stay here. Apartment was very well equipped, & accommodation was of a very good standard. The whole complex was very clean & tidy. Found the hills to be very steep so would recommend car hire, easy to walk down but struggled to go back up. On the whole had a very enjoyable time, & weather was really kind to us, some days in the 40s. We initially booked 1 bedroom apartment but on arrival was allocated a 2 bed, whoop whoop. The guy who ran complex was very nice, even gave my husband a lift down the hill to shops.location is good has more or less everything you need, restaurants, gift shops etc. visited beach in carvoerio which was ok, but to be honest found nicer ones whilst out & about in car. Trips to the caves are a must had a wonderful time. We would not hesitate to rebook in the near future, had a really enjoyable time. Only thing I would suggest is to bring your own hair dryer as our apartment did not supply one.
A group of 30 of us stayed in several of the apartments. All of them were extremely clean when we arrived and very spacious. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen and balcony in each apartment where you can sit. The pool is clean with lots of room around to sunbathe and just a 10 min walk from the beach and town centre.
These are brilliant self catering apartments with everything you could possibly need, massive kitchen, ironing board, washing machine, fridge freezer, parking, pool, storage, balcony, air con etc. really spacious, clean and modern accommodation, and an extremely helpful manager who gave us a lift to the supermarket on our first day for just 10euros, ideal! There is a smaller supermarket about 5/10mins walk too. Only a 15 min walk down to the centre so not long at all, an easy walk, it is up hill on the way back however so may be more difficult for wheelchair users or buggys, we found it no bother though. The only small criticism was that I think it would be a nice gesture if they provided the apartment with a washing sponge and washing up liquid for washing the dishes, these are basic needs and a little annoying to have to buy for just one week. Considering everything else so perfect though hardly worth mentioning!
Would defeinately return, others mention the uncomfertable beds but we found them fine.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Quinta Polaris and as other people have said already it is fantastic. The Manager Basil and his team work hard to keep every inch of this complex clean and tidy. Basil took us to the local supermarket to stock up on supplies and he could not have been more helpful. The walk into the town of Carvoeiro took about 10-15 mins but the roads are very quiet so this was not a problem. I agree with other reviews that the hill back home is quite steep but we managed to walk back home every evening even after a few drinks!!
The apartments were fantastic, we had more than enough room as we had two bedrooms. It really is home from home and we could not believe the size of the open kitchen/lounge/dining area. Even for a group of 6 there would have been adequate room for everyone. We are hoping to return to these apartments later this year and explore the area more.
This is a great little complex, but a nightmare to find, the road it is on has no name my which is of no use for the Sat Nav, my advice if you drive around a few times go down into a town and ask a taxi driver to lead the way worth the 6 euros it will cost them save the location in you GPS!! on that note you do need a car but is very cheap.
The apartments are spacious and very well equipped, my only grip would be larger TV very small portable, beds need toppers as they are very hard and wireless in the rooms rather than reception, heated pool off peak, all that said it really is very good and the manager super helpful.
The supermarket is just 5 minutes drive once you get you bearings which takes a while, lots of fresh fish and lots of Rose wine yum.
The town is very friendly with lots of cafe and restaurants to choose from we liked was opposite the mini market up a steep hill not on the main drag and was very good,
We would come back again and enjoyed driving to the beach Praia da rocha a little further along is a long pier if you fancy some fishing.
We plan on returning next year really was great value
We've just returned from a fantastic break at these apartments. Our first apartment was on the first floor but we asked to be moved to the ground floor due to our 18 month old child who is a climber and we didn't want to spend the 8 nights having to constantly watch him. We were moved without any issues and both apartments were fantastic value for money. Great having the use of a washing machine. We had no issues with the beds, everyone thought they were comfy enough.
The pool area is lovely thought the water was a little too cold for us. Our only critism would be more signage on the way to the apartments as our taxi driver from Faro didn't have a clue where it was and it took ages to arrive.
Its only a 15 minute walk to into the town, going down easy enough coming back up it is quite hilly but its doable.
The manager Basillio is fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Ran us to the supermarket for 10 euros which is cheaper than a taxi. My husband left his wallet by accident so Basillio drove over to where we had to move onto which was fantastic of him.
We will be back for future holidays as we found the whole experience very enjoyable.
Have just returned from a ten day stay at Quinta Polaris. Absolutely no complaints, only praise in recommending this development. The manager, Basillio, is extremely helpful & looks after his apartments well. The whole area is very clean & tidy. The apartment is spacious with a full sized kitchen ( although we did not use it, preferring to visit the wonderful restaurants that exist in this neck of the woods ). If we are pushed to make any negative comments, then it would be that the beds are like boards ! We managed to cure this problem by purchasing a cheap duvet from Continente in Portimao ( 24 euros ) & placing on top of the mattress to sleep on... problem solved. also, the management company, Garvetur, should look to setting up better signposts for the development. Fortunately we knew the area well and was able to find it, tucked away, even though it was almost dark when we arrived.
All in all, a great holiday, we will definitely return to Quinta Polaris.
The apartments of the Quinta Polaris are a great standard, we had a 3 bedroom apartment which was very roomy and modern with all required appliances and are a great choice for self catering. Our room had two balconies with lovely views in a quiet setting.
As said on other reviews the manager Brazillo is really approachable and helpful. Carvoeiro was a 15 minute walk where the was an abundance of restaurants and shops etc. We took a taxi the first day to the main supermarket intermarche which cost 7 euros each way but allowed us to stock up the freezer with lollies, drinks etc which are needed as there is no snack area at the apartments.
We tried many restaurants around the town and the majority were exceptional value for money, only bad meal we had was at Jan at the main square and Palmerias.
Carvoeiro is a very quiet town but we felt ideally located for days out as it was quite central to other resorts we had looked at, we spent days in Albufeira, Ferragudo, Silves and Portimao all by taxi which you can get easily from the town.
The only area where could have been better would have been a welcome pack containing the basics, water, milk etc. This would have been ideal if we could have ordered this and paid for on arrival, we arrived at 21:30 and the supermarket had already closed so all we had between 6 of us was water brought from the airport until we could get up and out the next day.
Overall we all enjoyed the holiday, the weather for April was a bonus and we would return at some point in the future.
