Royal Mekong Boutique Hotel - Phnom Penh

This hotel was in a good location and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with arranging tuk tuk rides and bus tickets. The room was clean, but the concrete floors made it look dirty. The shower knobs did not function properly and the A/C unit in the room did not cool it off adequately. The daily breakfast was very tasty.

We feel this hotel had poor management and a staff that was not knowgeable of services about which we inquired. The rooms were very warm and could not be adjusted. We were overcharged for a tour where we got only a driver and were sold a tour with an English speaking "guide" .

We had a terrific experience during our stay at the Royal Mekong. Our room was huge as was the bathroom. It's in a quiet section of Phnom Penh which can be very noisy. The staff was very helpful, polite and efficient. My husband and I LOVED this hotel!! The staff was wonderful to us and VERY accommodating. It was quiet at night, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and very safe. I stayed Twice in this hotel during my trip to Cambodia. First in a deluxe room and the 2nd time in a executive or junior suite. The Deluxe room was sparsely furnished with 2 nightstands by the bed and a desk and chair and small refridgerator. A large bathroom with a shower only and no shower curtain. The suite was a larger room with more furniture. […] The beds in both rooms had very hard matresses, common in Cambodian hotels. I would have rated this hotel better if the hot water for the showers was actually hot, its not , It was just slightly less cold than the cold water. The laundry service was also a problem. Overall, this hotel is decent. It was recently remodeled and the rooms are large and in good condition. We had a couple problems with our stay that may or may not be relevant in the future though: 1. We booked two rooms but when we arrived, we were told that they were overbooked and the three of us in our group would need to stay in one room together. […] They were "generous" enough to give us a cot for free though! Later, we found out that the owner of the hotel invited his friend to come to Phnom Penh to visit last minute, booting us from the room reservation we made well in advance. No real apology for the inconvenience 2. We (and just about everyone else in the hotel) had to take cold showers because turning on the hot water would result in scalding hot, unbearable temperatures to shower in. A new manager just took over the day-to-day running of the property the week we stayed there, and he seemed eager to fix a lot of the problems with the place-- so it may be better in the future. My overall opinion was that the rooms are cheap esp. for the location but you may be able to find similarly priced and better hotel options that are just a short tuk-tuk drive to the sights (we actually still took tuk-tuks to some of the sights from the Royal Mekong anyway) Read more

My brother and I stayed here for three nights in December. It is a new hotel, with concrete as its flooring of choice. The rooms have many amenities but the feeling is cold without anything on the floor. The room on the ground floor that I had was adjacent to an alleyway such that I could see and hear people while suing the facilities through the privacy […] glass. The staff were very nice and tried their best with limited English. The breakfast was good and the computers were helpful in that the wi-fi did not work while we were there. The hotel is location is easy to describe, just tell the driver that it is near the KFC. It is near the Palace but away from all the traffic so there was not much noise at night. It only cost a $2 to get to the riverfront, or anywhere else. The hotel arranged a driver to sight see and we were pleased with his services (and impressed with his chess game). I can't say that it was a bad place to stay but I also would not heartily recommend it. I think that they will continue to improve and become a very nice place to stay as it matures. Read more

If you like quiet nights and pub street is not your thing this is probably the perfect hotel for you. Its easy walking distance to the Royal Palace and National Museum. On the main road about 100 meters away you will find KFC, Pizzaria, a supermarket.and ATM. Its then a further 100 meters to the Paragon shopping center and the thai food on the left […] as you enter is highly recommended. There is also a high end restaurant 20 meters from the hotel. Breakfast is a minimal set menu but the girls serving you have the biggest smiles you will see in Cambodia. Rooms include a DVD player (very useful for playing those movies you just purchased) and are large. The hotel is 3 floors (ground, 1 and 2) with the rooms on 1 & 2 but no lift so if you are unable to climb stairs this is not the hotel for you. The owner drops in in the morning and speaks good English. We stayed 4 days and were very comfortable there. Read more

Not quite as described, booked the suite but the put us in the double room first. When we switched we realised there was absolutely no difference. nothing like described. We booked Royal Mekong Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap via Internet a day before we depart to Phnom Penh. We do not have much expectation on this very last minute booking. Only before we departure from Siem Reap, we called the hotel to arrange for pick up at the local bus station. Bus was delayed for 1.5 hours & the hotel manager went to the station twice […] for us. We felt the warm hospitality & their sincerity once we stepped into this brand new hotel. During the 3 days 2 nights stay, all the staff are humble, friendly & warm. The hotel location is good & there is always Tuk Tuk standby outside the hotel for us. The drivers are friendly & easy going. We always enjoy the bargain with them. :) When we were waiting for the Phnom Penh International Airport for check in, the hotel sent a Tuk Tuk driver to refund to us the over charge. The hotel is about 8.7 kms from the airport. All these gesture really beyond our expectation & have created an unforgettable experience to us. Thank you very much! Read more

Hotellets personale var soede og hjaelpsomme. Dog blev mine forventninger ikke opfyldt i det Hotels.coms beskrivelse af hotellet, ikke stemte over ens med virkeligheden. Da vi tjekkede ind, fik vi tildelt et vaerelse af katagorien under den Juniorsuite, som vi have booket. Vi henvendte os til receptionen for at blive flyttet til et andet vaerelse. De […] sagde at det ikke var muligt, da de var fuld booket og grunden var, at noget beton skulle toerre i det vaerelse vi rigtig skulle have haft. Vi fik lovning paa, at vi kunne flyttte til det rigtige vaerelse dagen efter, og som kompensation fik vi betalt en bustur fra Phnom Pehn til SIem Reap. Dette var vi godt tilfreds med, da planen var, at vi skulle den vej. Den naeste dag fik vi et vaerelse som manglede foelgende - i forhold til jeres beskrivelse: udsigt til byen(vi havde direkte ind i en mur), seperat stue, cd afspiller, boblebadekar(vi havde et alm. badekar), vaskemaskine og toerretumbler(dette viste vi godt, at vi med alt sansynlighed ikke ville faa). Vi henvendte os ikke til receptionen igen, da vi taenkte at det var nytteloest. Dog spurgte de selv om vi var tilfreds, hvor vi svarede, at det forsat ikke var som vi havde regnet med - og slet ikke mht. udsigten. Til det svarede de, at de slet ikke havde noget vaelse med udsigt til byen. Vi har brugt Hotel.com gennem hele vores rejse til Thailand, Cambodia og Vietnam, og vi har vaeret ganske godt tilfreds med opholdene, dog bare ikke med opholdet i Phnom Penh. Read more

アパートメントを改装したような感じのホテルです。 こじんまりとしていますが、小奇麗です。 部屋はデラックスルーム、Wi-Fi、朝食付の予約で、明かり取りのガラスブロックはありますが窓の無い部屋でした。 バスルームにも明かり取りがあります。シャワーとバスタブが別で、バスタブは広々足が伸ばせるタイプで、思わず湯を張ってのんびりつかってしまいました。お湯の出も問題ありません。 夜中に外廊下のソファーで談笑されると、かなり声が響いて五月蝿いです。10分ほどで居なくなったので注意するほどではありませんでしたが…。 フロントのスタッフはとてもフレンドリーで対応も良く、とても好感が持てました。 朝食は取らなかったので判りません。 個人的には、値段的には十分以上かな〜といった感じですね。
