"Really nice and well-located hotel"
This is our second stay in a Rocco Forte hotel and we continue to be delighted. The decor is very elegant and clean, the service is excellent, and we made a lot of use of the hotel concierge as we did on our previous Rocco Forte hotel stay. The hotel is located very close to many attractions - we walked everywhere which was really nice! I would totally […] recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Florence. The hotel is in an amazing place; close to all the actions. The room and everything was in perfect condition. Staff very helpful, courteous and friendly. The breakfast was good but it did not include eggs and omelette; those were extra charges.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"THE BEST HOTEL IN FLORENCE BY FAR"
Frankly its expensive, thats why I picked it, its worth every penny and the location is beyond perfect, the staff feel hand picked and the atmosphere is opulent yet welcoming. the cocktails are among the best i have ever had and the dining room is stunning, its a small venue in terms of foot print but thats mainly down to the architecture in the area, […] there room was very elegant and had a large hallway and a walk through closet which gave it the feel of an apartment with views onto the street through shutters, sound proofing was epic so staying in bed in the morning was made all the better.
Punktum. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

You won't find a better location than this. Turn right out of the hotel and in two minutes you will be at the magnificent Duomo. Turn left out of the hotel and in a few minutes you will be at the Old Bridge. You can walk to all the sights from this hotel. Main train station is about a ten minute walk. Unfortunately the restaurant is undergoing a major refurbishment (Due to open in March 2015) so there is some noise from the workmen and a temporary arrangement is set up in the basement next to the business centre. Staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. Attention to detail was good and the doorman remembered my name the entire stay. The corridors to the bedrooms have marble/stone floors and this creates a loud echo when someone closes their door. Breakfast includes good choice of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese and pastries. No hot food in the buffet although there is an A la Carte option. Overall a good hotel that could be chosen for the location alone.

Four nights of absolute pleasure in one of the world's most charming cities. The Savoy Hotel couldn't be better located for exploring the magic of this wonderful destination and provides the perfect retreat when the many medieval treasures, soaring architectural sights and Italian assaults on all your senses require a personal calming antidote. Over looking the square, but with perfect sound insulation when required, the view from the room on the fourth floor was just unforgettable - and enhance when the window was opened by the professional Jazz inspired buskers playing as dusk turned to night. Breakfast was fresh fruit plus from the friendliest staff and because the hotel restaurant was being refurbished, the alternative recommended and booked by the helpful Conceirge for our special occasion was just perfect. Florence in February, staying at the Savoy, even experienced travellers like ourselves agreed it does't get any better than this.. Please - Go, Enjoy and Create Memories that will last !

Location Location Location. that is the word for this hotel. Good Staff, but small rooms, if you have a lot of Luggage that is a problem, and the toilet flush is very annoying.. it needs to be pumped to work. And the breakfast is ok not many options, and the comum area is very very small, almost like a boutique hotel. But as i said before the location is amazing, and worth the price.

This is my first time to stay at this hotel though I was coming here for a coffee break for several years now. It was an excellent stay all the way of my three days. The room 519 higly recomented for a sole traveller. A fantastic double bed with a nice marble bathroom. Breakfast only a bit dissapointing without hot dishes included in the b & b price. Though was enough with high quality products. Staff very friendly and polite makes my stay very much feel at home and confortable.
"Excellent property, excellent location"
Having lived in Florence, I would say this is one of my favorite hotels. It is central to the downtown area, located just off of the Piazza Della Republica. It is in an amazing location and the rooms have great views of the duomo or the square. Service is great and rooms are spacious by European standards. Beds sleep well and the "rainfall" shower head nice. The only drawback during my recent stay is that the restaurant and the bar, both favorites of mine, we're closed for renovations. They had created a makeshift restaurant in the basement, but it clearly wasn't the same. Understand that their new restaurant and bar will be open in the spring of 2015. Something to look forward to when I return. Highly recommend. Great place!

My husband, daughter and I have just come back from 3 nights in Florence, staying at The Savoy. First time in Florence and absolutely fell in love with the city, but what really made our trip was the hotel. I could not fault a thing. From weeks before the stay, the manager and concierge couldn't be more helpful in wanting to make it a very enjoyable stay. I booked this hotel as a treat for my husbands birthday and wanted somewhere baby friendly for our 7 month old daughter. Being a high end hotel, I was worried they would frown upon a little baby, but completely the opposite, they couldn't have welcomed her anymore if they tried. The room was ready on our arrival, with the cot set up and the loveliest surprise of a toy pincocchio waiting in my daughters cot which she made friends with straight away. What a lovely thought. They brought us a kettle immediately when we asked for one (to boil for our daughters bottles). They brought us an iron, and really couldn't have made us feel more at home. The doormen were the friendliest I've met, the check in staff were smiley and so nice to our baby, the waiting staff at breakfast and dinner were so lovely, kind and helpful and honestly don't think we'll ever stay anywhere as warm and friendly again. My daughter also had her own bag of toiletries which was a nice touch. Turn down service was welcomed in the evening when we went out for dinner. We used the babysitting service and although bit nervous at first, the hotel made sure we had a lovely english lady called Rosie who was so nice and felt at ease when she came to our room. Location wise you can't beat it. 5 minute walk to everywhere. The trouble was too many nice shops nearby! Amazing hotel, amazing staff, and the best location you can get. Thanks!

Fantastic location fantastic hotel fantastic food great location to visit Florence great to sit outside for dinner weather permitting to watch the world go by. Great base to see the historic city only issue parking remote and a taxi ride away but secure and you are in a very very old city worth the compromise
"A nice warm welcome"

In the center of Florence, we got a nice warm welcome, with a room upgrade, Is always a good start. This his how it was with Hotel Savoy, The concierge, the Laundry and the luggage services are top notch. A good selection of food in breakfast, but it could be better. Room is always clean and made it well before bed time. We will certainly be back to this hotel in the future.

We were expecting great things from this five star Forte hotel, but we were left disappointed. The best thing is its location, which from our balcony overlooked the Piazza. The room was not very big,but the bathroom was so small, with a shower in the bath, not separate, with a shower screen but the water going everywhere, that we had to put tools on the floor,to mop it all up.We had driven down from the Hyatt Martinez in Cannes, for a one night stay in Florence, and were expecting greater things from the Savoy.Friends we were with had paid for two rooms,at 700 euros per room per night, which is what we had paid in Cannes for TWO nights. But for a so called super luxury hotel we were expecting a lot more.Breakfast was fine, apart from being a bit tight,as the hotel was full while we were there,so not the hotels fault, but not what i would call spacious. Having read other reviews,it is true that its the location of this hotel which is great, overlooking the square, which was noisy, but didn't really bother us.The other strange thing was that our friend who checked in was asked for a 2000 euro deposit, refundable on departure, which in my experience seemed a bit of a cheek, even though the rooms had been paid for up-front.Final point is that we had no carpet in our bedroom, just creaky wooden floors, which didn't give that feeling of cosy and warm. General fixtures and fittings were ok,but not warranted as a super luxury hotel.
"Best Hotel We've Ever Stayed At"

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in December and from the moment we drove up to the front of the hotel, we knew we were in good hands. The staff was extremely friendly and solicitious of our needs. The room was lovely and our request for a room with a view of the Duomo was cheerfully accommodated. The walk-in closet was especially treasured by my wife who does not pack lightly. The staff in the restaurant was wonderful and we especially appreciated the new restaurant manager, Paul, who took the time to sit with us and make suggestions as to how we could most valuably spend our time in Florence. My wife, an exercise enthusiast, especially wanted me to mention the gentlemen who serviced the fitness center every day with apples and water. I believe his name is Amazon. She looked forward to talking to him every day while she was on the treadmill and he was also very helpful with his suggestions about Florence. Should we find ourselves in Florence again, we would not think of staying anywhere else.
