"Really nice and well-located hotel"
This is our second stay in a Rocco Forte hotel and we continue to be delighted. The decor is very elegant and clean, the service is excellent, and we made a lot of use of the hotel concierge as we did on our previous Rocco Forte hotel stay. The hotel is located very close to many attractions - we walked everywhere which was really nice! I would totally […] recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Florence. The hotel is in an amazing place; close to all the actions. The room and everything was in perfect condition. Staff very helpful, courteous and friendly. The breakfast was good but it did not include eggs and omelette; those were extra charges.

Punktum. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superb location, excellent service, unforgettable stay"

The location of the Savoy negates anything negative about this hotel. Smallish rooms, but excellent service and a good bar and restaurant. The staff are attentive and friendly, the atmosphere welcoming. Full marks to the concierge who got us a guide for the morning, excellent choice. The service in the bar was a bit shambolic over the weekend, but soon rectified on Monday and by the time we left, we felt as though we were in our own home and did not want to leave. Yes of course you pay for the privilege, it's not a cheap hotel, but it's money well spent. Florence is magical, and the Hotel Savoy was the icing on the cake
"What a location! Unbeatable..."

Being right in the middle of everything but still able to give the sense of privacy, serenity and in a natural way. Well-trained and experienced staff to deal with the requests of demanding, luxury, selective guest profiles. All-day dining restaurant is a jewel for all meal periods and for drinks as well. Staff over there are also very engaging. One thing that I like about this hotel is that there are no carpets in the guest rooms nor in the corridors which gives a sense of cleanliness and hygiene. Hotel overlooks one of the landmark Piazzas and there is always a good crowd of people around, street musicians, painters, magicians, etc. Hotel is close to anything you need, no need to get on any kind of transportation if you like walking. And I strongly recommend to walk and get lost in the small streets of Florence. A lovable, pretty, hotel.

It was a special birthday for my wife so what better than to stay in the Hotel Savoy in one of the best cities in the world. And I'm very pleased to report that neither the hotel nor the city let us down. The many positives about this hotel include: The location (central for everything), the staff (getting to know your name so quickly, always service with a smile), the room (stunning, opulent and comfortable + a fantastic shower and bath), the breakfasts (so much to choose from and top quality food and fruit juices), the restaurant and bar ( friendly staff, fantastic food and great selection of drinks). There hasn't been many hotels we've stayed at that we've felt really sad to leave - but this is definitely one of them. Thank you to the staff of the Hotel Savoy for giving my wife a birthday experience she will never forget.

Our trip to florence was remarkable, capped off with three nights at the Savoy. What a remarkable hotel, at first the room seemed small but the amenities, service, attention to detail and location overcame that. The breakfast was great, early evening cocktails with an engaging staff and of course prime location.

An unrivalled location near all the sites (albeit a little hard to access by hire car). The hotel has generally very good service (though room service would not serve warm food after 11pm - however they ordered me an excellent pizza from a local pizzeria). The rooms are simple and well-presented but not large. No spa, but there is a small gym. Not the best value for money, but very competent.
"The greatest advantage of the hotel is its location"

The greatest advantage of the hotel is its location – in the very heart of the city. Otherwise the hotel is not as impressive as I expected – relatively small room, not having so many amenities corresponding to a 5-star hotel. I would say a bit overpriced. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great equipped and large enough. I must say I liked very much the breakfast – high quality of products and variety of food. The service is also at very good level. The only thing I must point out is never ask the concierge to recommend you a nice place to have a dinner. I believe they have their reasons to send tourists only to specific restaurants. In my opinion it’s better to search out a place by yourself or just to google for а good advise.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Savoy for 5 nights during our vacation in Italy. The hotel is immaculate and the service was top-notch. It is perfectly located near the Duomo and walk-able to all of the sights in Florence. Our room was small but incredibly clean and comfortable. Also the restaurant was excellent. We ate both a lunch and dinner there and all of the food was great. The service, however, is what really impressed us. The concierge had been attentive from the beginning, but they really helped out when our flight home was canceled and we were stuck for an additional night. Also, to help us leave on a happier note, the hotel manager comped our room-service on the night we were stranded. Overall, this was a fantastic hotel and staff, and we will definitely be staying there again.
"Excellent location "

Location is everything in florence as you explore it by foot . Hotel reception and concierge were kind and excellent. Room was clean . Bathroom was large . Request a room facing away from the square as it is noisy at night . Overall a good hotel .
"Cost, noise, little things - disappointing, won't return."

We had high hopes for our 4 night stay in a suite at the Hotel Savoy. We left disappointed. Our experience has been that the attention to detail and little things really distinguish a great hotel that seems to have a soul and passion from a "just ok place". Our stay at the Savoy fell into the latter category. We arrived early and were met quickly and cheerfully. Our suite wasn't ready so we decided to have lunch and a walk, the receptionist took our phone number and said they would call when our room was ready. No call, we arrived about 10 minutes prior to check in time (2PM) and were told the room was still not ready and would be ready for perhaps an hour, we got to our room about an hour later. We made the reservation in June and asked by email for a room on a higher floor to avoid noise. We were delivered a room on the first floor just above the outdoor seating area of the restaurant, on a busy street and directly across from the Piazza del Repubblica which is a magnet for street vendors, tourists, street musicians and crowds. We were told they were sold out and this was all they could offer, which I get, but we had asked for a higher room nearly 3 months earlier and were told that they would likely be able to accommodate our request. The Suite we reserved offered a "pressing" of clothing for the first night's dinner wear. We asked to have some clothes pressed and were told they would send up an iron and board. When the delivery of the pressing equipment came the board would not stand so they had to take it back and replace it. When we plugged in the iron it had a short in the cord and wouldn't operate and that too had to be replaced. The suite had a nice small complimentary bar set up with scotch , gin, some nuts, olives and sliced lime and lemon. That evening before going out to dinner we each had a cocktail. Upon returning for the evening our bed had been turned down but the spent cocktail glasses remained on the table in the sitting room which I thought an odd oversight. The next day we headed out on a long day trip not to return until about midnight. On leaving we asked the concierge to kindly arrange reservations to the Uffizi Gallery for Saturday or Sunday which the concierge affirmed he would. Upon our return to the Hotel late Friday evening we checked with the concierge about the Uffizi reservation and were told that none had been made. We asked again to please arrange a reservation. Upon entering our room we found that once again the dirty cocktail glasses that had been used to have drinks the prior afternoon were still sitting where we left them with ( on the coffee table in the sitting area) melted ice and spent lime slices at the bottom. I glanced over to the bar area and it clearly had not been restocked ; no ice, the nut dish had not been refilled and I noticed I had apparently dropped a nut on the floor earlier and the service apparently missed it. By our third night the spent cocktail glasses were finally retrieved and replaced by the service, I put them on the TV console right in front of the TV instead of on the coffee table in front of the couch where we had originally left them. The bar had been refreshed on the third night as well but they still missed the errant nut in the floor! The suite we had was nice, not what I would call great but nice. Wood floors, white and gray color scheme, nice linens, a too deep couch (for comfortable sitting) but looked nice design wise. The decoration in the room and the, hallway and stairwell was a bit odd I thought , it was all about women's shoes. I understand that them in a Ferragamo hotel but didn't quite get it here . None of the 'little things" we experienced at the Savoy were fatal flaws. With that said, a hotel charging 1,000+ euro a night raises the bar on expectations in my book. Little things matter a lot in the overall experience at a "fine" hotel. For us the Savoy was just average if not disappointing. I don't mind paying up for really fine products, service or experiences. The Savoy didn't deliver for us. We will be returning to Florence this Spring and will stay at the Portait for its location, service and value. We wanted to really like the Savoy as it was the last stay of a 3 week Italian vacation and we wanted this last stop to be a fine conclusion, instead we wished we had ended our trip 4 days earlier. It just didn't live up to the billing .

The management and staff really know their stuff. From the moment of arrival where we were unloaded and the car parked for us to our departure four days later, where the car was delivered to us and packed, it was the perfect experience. It is central to all the sights being one minute from the Duomo square, five from the Uffizi, seven from the Accademia Museum, at the start of Florence's main shopping street and part of a piazza with seven restaurants fronting it - Hard Rock Cafe isn't a restaurant. From our balcony we were able to enjoy the sights of Florence awakening and swinging into action in the evening. The room was not huge but everything worked efficiently, free wifi, power point, hair dryer, shower, laundry service, complementary shoe clean at night, room service and concierge service. Breakfast in the hotel's piazza cafe in the mornings was atmospheric.
