We arrived at Hotel Rural Quinta dos Poetas on NYE 2012 and stayed for two nights. It was challenging to find the hotel even with Google maps/GPS, Recommend asking for detailed directions. Also, you must have a car as there is nothing within walking distance. We stayed for 2 nights here over New Years. The hotel has a restaraunt that served a delicious 5 course New Years Eve dinner. We were traveling with our 15 month old and the staff was very welcoming (and tolerant) of his behavior. The chef even came out to socialize with us. Overall it was a memorable experience for our family. The hotel and the grounds are quite inviting. In a rural setting, the hotel grounds are quite expansive, with lots of walking areas, pool, play area for the kids, a putting green and even 2 holes of golf. In the lobby area there is a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace and nearby a large dining room for breakfast. The room itself is modest but clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was not available in the room, only in the lobby area.

We booked 11 nights in this hotel and we would have been happy to stay longer but our schedule did not allow it. Hotel Velamar is the best value for money hotel that we have ever stayed in. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has four floors and the restaurant is on the fourth floor with panoramic views of the sea and surrounding countryside making breakfast and very pleasant meal. Our only complaint was that the bed was hard. The location is very good, there is a wide range of inexpensive restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel and the buses to/from Albufeira stop close to the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the Algarve in November 2012. We were looking to visit Faro and opted for this hotel in Olhao since we had a rental car. This hotel is ideal if you don't mind driving to see sights and want a really nice hotel. The room itself was modern and large. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was lots of free parking out front.

Nice, clean and spacious rooms, Good bed and showers. Additional cod bed was very narrow so we ended up with little one in our bed for the week. Worked... fine. Breakfast and dinner in hotel unfortunately very low quality food. Between offering plenty cheap things versus less choice and better quality, the latter would have our vote. Nothing really had any taste too it. Lunches a la carte were fine, so they can actually do it. Good size and not too busy pool and of course the waterpark next door. Excellent park, less busy at the weekend but even during week not too bad re: business. Several portugese restaurants around the corner and Vilamoura 5 minutes taxiride away. by Family from London, UK on 09/11/12

Just returned after 2 weeks here with 3 children (16,6 and 2). We had a family room which was 2 rooms with interconnecting door, which gave us plenty of room and 2 bathrooms. They were spacious, modern and a fridge in the room which we used to put our own drinks and things in. The breakfast was not the biggest choice but there was plenty and something […] for everyone. The buffet dinner was 20 Euro adult (10 child) and we paid daily when we ate there. Mainly consisted of soup, salads, 3 hot main dishes and sides and usually a pasta, cheeses and wonderful cakes/pastries. There is a few restaurants dotted along the road but we didnt try any of these. You do really need to get a cab if you want to go anywhere, even the supermarket, although we did walk along the side of the main road to Oscars the irish bar one day, but i wouldnt walk any further as it really is too far and there is nothing else along the main road. The staff in the hotel were exceptional, the receptionists, the housekeeper and the restaurant and bar staff work extremely hard and always have a smile. The free entry to the waterpark was brilliant, there is something for everyone in there, it was excellent. The hotel pools were good, the indoor pool was popular and kids pool was seperate and spacious and really shallow. There is also a playground which was really popular. Would recommend and would return but would stay for a week or would hire a car. Beach is only 10 min taxi drive. Great find, wld return. Read more

All tho I wouldn't stay stay at this hotel for longer than a couple of nights purely because of the location it's perfect for visiting the theme park for a couple of days. It's a one minute walk from hotel to park so once you collect your free pass from the hotel reception you can visit as many times as you like through out the day.the hotel is clean […] very comfortable and great value for money nothing was too much trouble for the staff the pool at the hotel was exceptionally clean and the hotel and pool side bar served excellent value for money snacks. This hotel was absolutely amazing ! The rooms were immaculate and spacious. The whole hotel is very contemporary and had a very refreshing feel to it. We had free access to the Aqua park everyday which was brilliant. Would recommend hiring a car as taxis soon get expensive each journey varied between 8 - 12 euros to surrounding areas. Excelênte,mas com o check-in às 15:00 hs é tarde demais.Poderiam mudar para àS 13:00 hs...Em relação ao jacuzi falta colocar uma informação no qual cada hospede têm direito a cada xxxx minutos...

Le point négatif est que depuis le premier jour où nous sommes arrivés la carte magnétique pour accéder à la chambre ne fonctionnait pas du tout correctement, ai du à plusieurs reprises descendre pour la faire réactiver. Par contre, le point super positif : je tiens à féliciter votre hôtesse, Claudia, qui nous a accueilli avec sourrire, gentillesse […] et, efficacité remarquable. Mon fils le lendemain de notre arrivée est tombé malade, Claudia a tout de suite trouvé un médecin, taxi pour nous y emmener et j'ai pu ainsi soigné immédiatement l'ottite de mon fils. Donc, sincèrement, MERCI Claudi pour votre superbe bonne humeur !!! Read more
