"Great hotel...good access to Paris"
Rooms are small, as is the Parisien experience...but clean, up-to-date...and adequately fit 3 people. We would return to the hotel. The staff is great, extremely helpful. Neighborhood is good and the Metro connections easy!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mod hotel in 14th arrondisement"
Although the neighborhood isn't glamorous, Hotel Fred is. It's very mid-century modern, comfortable and friendly. For the price, a great hotel. Please note, if you want a bathtub rather than a shower in your bathroom, you have to go for deluxe rate. All rooms have comfy beds, soft pillows and free soap, shampoo, etc except oddly enough, no conditioner. […] I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable, clean, close to metro, friendly staff"
Very clean/modern decor. Would recommend staying in superior or deluxe room- even these are tiny, but most hotel rooms are small in Paris. The rooms were small but comfortable. Very friendly and professional staff. Housekeeping did a great job with upkeep of our room. Far from touristic areas but close to metro, so you can easily access everything. […] Hotel staff was helpful with directions and helping us get around the city safely. Quiet neighborhood with cafes nearby and shopping store on street for necessities. I would recommend this hotel! "A Diamond is Yours"
I am a seasoned and frequent traveler, but the Fred Hotel greatly surpassed all my expectations and made my 9 days with them wonderful, relaxing and cared for. The place has been newly renovated so all the rooms and parts of the hotel are modern and sparkel. The front desk staff are always positive and helpful. No sour faces at the Fred !!! The place […] is very quiet itself and in a quiet and quaint section of Paris (14e). Three minute walk to the Metro station and several nice Bistros that took me in like family. The price is very good for the person that does not mind being right in the middle of central Paris. Yet when you want all the major sites and sounds of the famous places you can be there in 15 minutes via subway or cab. The French are very friendly and many speak English and don't mind if you don't speak French. The Fred is a gem and I am excited to return soon! Book it! You won't be disappointed. 6 stars!!!!!!!!! "Loved this hotel!"
This is a lovely, stylish little hotel which pulls off the terrific feat of being modern but still warm and charming. The rooms are small as other reviewers point out, but if that isn't a big deal to you, then I would guess that you'll love this hotel too. The location isn't walkable to the major sites, but IS very close to a metro stop -- I actually […] prefer this arrangement because you get more for your money in terms of the quality of the hotel and the metro is so fast and easy, that the bit of extra distance just doesn't matter. "Nice Hotel (Poor Customer Service)"
Arrived quite late and gentleman on reception unfortunately was quite rude and seemed to be in a rush to do other things, didn't explain about hotel or even direct us to where our room was located, room small but very clean and housekeeping done on a daily basis. Hotel located close to a metro station so getting around Paris was quite easy, unfortunately […] wouldn't stay at this hotel again mainly due to how unfriendly certain members of staff appeared to be. "Great room for value in paris"
Lovely room, only issue was the wall weren't soundproof like they advertised but wasn't a big issue. Would stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"My boutique hotel experience"
The hotel was nice, but the room was very very small. There was no place to even keep the suitcase and I had to jump over my bag every time to get to the toilet which was in an open environment and not a good idea.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small and modern hotel in a quiet neighbourhood"
Modern 3 star hotel at a quiet neighbourhood with good kebab cafe nearby. Will be perfect if the hotel can upgrade/ strengthen the wireless system so that reception can be better in room. Staff are generally polite and helpful. I approached one of the night staff to enquire about booking of train and he is able to advise me accordingly. Thumbs up for […] this hotel. The staff of Fred hotel were so Friendly , always smiling and helpful , that helps to make our stay comfortable in the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A lovely, but affordable place to stay."
I stayed for the weekend and had a very nice time overall. The location is great. It's in central Paris, but doesn't feel congested with people. The metro station is 5 minutes walk away, and there are a range of restaurants and shops close by. The service was always friendly and efficient. On the second night the bathroom ceiling began to leak, however […] we were immediately upgraded to a lovely room. The beds were comfortable, and all the other amenities you'd expect were provided. My only complaint would be you can often hear other guests in the corridor outside the rooms, but this didn't spoil our stay and we'd definitely use the Fred Hotel again. I can't comment on the breakfast - at 12 euro it was too expensive and could be bought at half the price from the nearest local market. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, close to two metro stations."
Metro stations pernety and plaisance. Friendly staff, boutique style hotel with cosy, modern rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel, close to metro"
We stayed at the Fred Hotel for 3 nights in October. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly staff, excellent comfy room. Two metro stops very close by for easy access to all of Paris. Extensive array of local shops providing a wide range of fresh foods and produce.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed here for a couple of nights. The location is quiet, with quite a few eating joints around, easily reachable by metro. The room was pretty small, but clean. Its a decent place if like us, all you need is a place to have a good night's sleep after roaming the streets of Paris!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Had a wonderful stay at your hotel."
I loved the hotel but not t he street it was on. Around the corner were some nice shops and restaurants. The staff was excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"How small it was"
These rooms are very small. There was a tight arrangement for two people and two suitcases. The hotel service was pleasant, and the immediate location had lots of nearby shops. A few too many inconviniences on check in, a key to our room went missing with a prior guest so they had to find a replacement, there was no ice available as the ice machine […] was in disrepair (so no champagne for us), and the water to our toilet was initially shut off so we had to have the manager come up and turn it on. After a long day of travel I could have done without these inconviniences. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is located on quiet street and yet it's very close to a lot of restaurants, bakeries, grocery shops and a Monoprix (a small department store with a supermarket). The hotel is a 20-minute walk from Gare Montparnasse, but just a couple of minutes from the closest Metro station (Pernety/Plaisance). The hotel is in a very good condition. My room […] was a bit small, but with modern décor. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom sink was outside the bathroom in my room, which I found a bit (just a bit) inconvenient. The hotel staff had made an error on the booking and charged us an extra night. The staff lied to me that they had received the change to the booking very late but I had confirmed with hotels.com that they should have had the confirmation 2 months before my stay. I have never been at any hotels where the guest had to take all administrative responsibilities […] of the hotel and that the guest had to take blame for staff's mistakes. I'm very disappointed when I contacted with the staff afterwards only to get blamed and then they avoided my call. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A little bit of authentic Paris"
The hotel Fred was great. It was out of the tourist bustle. Good location to the metro stations and the surrounding area has some great restaurants. The gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but very well appointed for the size. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The only downside was that the bathroom smelled […] not so nice. The plumbing perhaps? Regardless, we would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great hotel. Intermittent wi-fi on the 4th floor. Myself and other guests had to stand outside our rooms in order to obtain a good connection. Otherwise, this hotel was great for the price I paid on Expedia. Not sure if I'd ever pay their full rates.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wee Hidden Gem in Paris!"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Fred Hotel. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. All areas of the hotel were of modern specification and the experience was very personal. We stayed in a standard room which was very clean and modern but also "space efficient" but you got used to the space once you had unpacked everything. The shower could […] have been a little deeper and the small plaster repairs re-painted. The location is off the tourist route but easy enough to get to-perfect wee gem! Lovely boutique hotel in quiet quaint safe neighbourhood. Around the corner from newly starred Michelin restaurant L'Essential right at entrance to Plaisance Metro stop on Rue A'lesia. Excellent caring staff who helped out without fuss. Thanks to Sylvio, Ara, Ghislaine, Pauos, and Director Tissa. "Great staff, close to metro"
I really appreciated how friendly and helpful staff were. It was modern and had a real boutique feel! Around the corner was a wonderful cafe--Le Cheneur--and breakfast there was lovely, as were the two evening meals we had. There's a Monoprix store about a minute's walk away (basement level has groceries), along with two patisseries and a small fruit […] store. The air conditioning worked--unlike some at hotels--and it's a quiet neighbourhood. We'd book again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value hotel"
Room was clean and quite cosy - they really have utilised very inch of room. Which is fine because you don't goto Paris just to stay in the hotel. About a 3 minute walk to the nearest metro. Our room was facing the front of the hotel, no complaints about noise coming from the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean but small hotel in good location"
Stayed in early August 2014. Hotel was clean, easy to find close to metro stations (plaisancie, pernety). Breakfast was small but enough variety and freshly stocked! The room is very small, especially shower and bathroom! Overall good experience and would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great boutique hotel, excellent customer service"
Fred hotel is lovely and modern. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but more than adequate space for what we needed. All the furnishings and décor were of an excellent standard and it was surprising how much the room felt like more than a 3 star hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"GREAT VALUE in 'real' area of PARIS"
Paris is not cheap, so to find a value hotle of quality in an interesting area is great. Lots of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. 38 BUS FROM gare du nord AND ONE CHANGE OR A 10 MINUTE WALK. Friendly staff: small but comfortable room with good shower and excellent TV.Genuine Expedia guest review
We are two elderly Australians who stayed four nights at the Fred as part of an extended sort of honeymoon. It is a great little hotel in an interesting area, with shops, good restaurants and the Metro handy. Staff at Fred were helpful and friendly with more than enough English. There is a comfortable lounge to sit and read, or enjoy a bottle of wine […] in the evening. Our room was quiet, clean and warm, and we slept well, but the room was small, possibly designed for midgets with a great sense of style but no luggage. (This did not worry us so much because British Airways had misplaced our luggage at Heathrow and it didn't turn up until our last night at the Fred.) Would recommend this hotel to other travellers, but be prepared for the limitations of space. And it's a long and expensive taxi ride from CDG. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great little hotel!"
The staff is amazing, helpful, hardworking and attentive. They go the extra mile to make sure you are safe and happy! The room we had was very small, but the space was well used! Location was ok, 20 minute metro ride from most things of interest!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Classic Room very Small yet comfortable"
Classic Room - If you are a person considered over-weight/obese, a body builder, or generally a larger frame you may want to reconsider a stay here as the bathroom is very petite. A person almost needs to be an acrobat to properly bathe in the shower and maneuver the bathroom. The frosted glass walls may not afford you enough privacy if staying with […] another person. The room is generally small but if you are spending your days in Paris and only using as a place to sleep, it is fine. The room shows signs of wear and tear as furniture and walls had scuffs, chips and broken paint. Did not like the requirement to leave the room key at reception when leaving facility as they never asked for ID when returning. Not overly eco-friendly as they changed towels and linens every day even though we followed the directions of hanging these items up for re-use. All lights were halogen as well - could easily be replaced with LED equivalents. Love the central air conditioning. The attached patio small and not overly comfortable as furniture was plastic with no cushions. Staff were generally nice but probably helped as we were able to speak and understand a little broken french. A block and half from the metro, restaurants & cafes, a fruit/vegetable market and a mid-sized department store (groceries/ clothes/ etc). Located outside of the central tourist areas and thus provided a true intimate feeling of local Paris. Quiet, clean, and good place to lay your head down at the end of the night. Everything is good in the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean (I got room no.2). The room was downstairs and its good because we bring our 2 y.o daughter using stroller. Just don't forget to bring some carrier for your baby, because no lifts in most of Paris metro stations! We ended up struggling with our stroller in the […] metro! No stroller friendly for sure! "Quaint boutique hotel"
Nice, small boutique hotel. Better sound proofing required in the rooms as you hear noises in the corridor and other occupants in adjoining rooms. "Good accommodation in a small hotel"
All our needs we're met during our stay. Friendly helpful staff. Would book again. I did find my bed not as firm as I like although my husband was ok. Internet connection in room not good although accessible at reception.Genuine Expedia guest review
After two weeks of staying in other accommodation in Europe, the Fred Hotel was a delight in multiple ways...let us tell you about it. First, the Hotel staff are knowledgable, helpful, engaging, and multilingual. Secondly, the neighbourhood is and has a friendly, safe feel to it. We ate dinner and breakfast in the area for 3 of our 4 days, which has […] a lot of choice. Thirdly, our room was modern and fully renovated to current standards. We had our first good sleep in their comfortable beds and we were able to reduce the heat to 19 Celcius each night. The only wrinkle was the WIFI; the access was intermittent in our room. However, the Lobby had good access, which we used a lot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A comfort stay"
We stayed for 3 nights in a double bed room. The bed is the most comfortable one in my travelling experiences in the same price level. The room is new, big enough and the space is modern. The sink is in a separated space outside of the shower room and toilet, and somehow the shower curtain cannot prevent shower water from flowing to the ground in front […] of toilet. It may be the only drawback. Bakery, supermarket, and restaurants are very close to and convenient Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxury for less!"
Fantastic! Stayed in one room with 2 other twentysomething friends for 3 nights. Room was a good enough size for Paris and the decor and attention to detail made our stay feel luxurious. Lovely double windows with iron balconette to wake-up to, very stereotypically Parisienne! Location was brill-quiet yet close to the metro Pernety and surrounded by […] many incredible cafés and boulangeries where we picked up our breakfasts each morning. A short walk into central Montparnasse for more vibrant bars as well. Staff were helpful when asked for information. Would definitely recommend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very good hotel well situated."
Generally very good. The rooms were very clean and tidy and were refreshed daily. The bathroom was quirky with frosted glass panels. We took breakfast on two occasions wish was reasonable although they did run out of certain items which were immediately refilled by a quick trip to the local bakery by one of the staff. No tea/ coffee making facilities […] in the room which would have been a nice touch but that may be standard in French hotels. The room we had was compact but functional. The only issue we had was the two rooms next to ours were shared by the same family so they used a single door which was directly outside our room. Unfortunately they opened and closed the door on numerous occasions very late in the evening/ morning and had other relatives staying in the hotel knocking the door to gain access and having a chat. Would I recommend this hotel and use it again "yes" . Staff were very helpful and polite. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
