"A home away from home"
Very nice inn. Friendly, accommodating staff. We've stayed here at least five times and will continue to return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was wonderful! The room was perfect, the food was great, the staff was very friendly. The only negative was the lack of water pressure, but I guess that's to be expected for a very old house... We will definitely be going back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfy and clean, but no in-room phone service?"
My husband and I went for a romantic getaway at this B&B. First the good: Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious and nicely furnished. Down-filled pillows and bedding were cozy. Breakfast was very good in a sunny porch. Now for the unexpected: My husband, who has a sensitive nose, complained about an underlying musty scent. (I had a […] cold, so can't speak to this.) Some cosmetic roof work seems needed on one of the buildings. Although WI-FI is provided, we were surprised that there is no in-room phone service---either cell or landline. This may not be an issue for some, but I found this worrisome in the event of a medical or security emergency. A landline is available in the main building, a short walk away. "Very nice inn"
The hotel is about 5 miles from downtown Woodstock. It was lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. I didn't eat in their restaurant but it looked lovely. The only drawback is that there is no cell phone service but there is Wifi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely New England Inn with old-fashioned charm"
We stayed here overnight while on a short getaway. Had a comfy king-sized bed, and a fireplace with enough wood provided to give us a cozy fire for several hours. No "modern" conveniences like microwave or fridge in room, and actually no cell service either, but there is a phone in the lobby for free local and/or long distance calls, and WIFI. The bathroom […] was spotless, and stocked with small necessities. We were only a few miles away from Woodstock, a picturesque town with lots of interesting shops to browse through. After a free breakfast buffet in the inn's sunporch, we were on our way to spend a pleasurable few hours in Woodstock and then at the Quechee Gorge and nearby shops. Would absolutely stay here again. "Great alternative to the Woodstock Inn"
We have always enjoyed staying at this inn, the staff is extremely friendly and the conditions, which may be a bit old, are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great and imaginative.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is really old and oh so quaint! The room we were in was very clean if a little 'wonky'. The wonky comes from the fact that the hotel is old but is a great quirk! Staff are friendly and really helpful. Great bar and excellent foodGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great touring hotel"
In a picturesque location, very quiet but remote. Our room was in the annex and had a real log cabin feel to it helped by the ability to light a log fire in the grate which just added to the ambience. The food both at dinner and breakfast was very good being locally sourced and fresh. Will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Cozy location in the countryside"
Nice location. We had a nice room with porch. It was separated from the main building but it was just in front of it. Porch was not very clean as the outside of the main bldg but our room was very comfortable and we used the fireplace. Breakfast is super.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Historisches Inn in schoener Lage"
"Romantisches Hotel in toller Lage!"

"Overnight stay on the way to Killington"
Charming inn 30 minutes away from Killington. Nice room in the log building with fireplace. Only downside was a run down tub but plumbing was otherwise good. Great breakfast not to miss. The street numbers changed and the address was not on the GPS. We called in advance for detailed instructions (5.5 miles on 106 south of junction with 4)Genuine Expedia guest review

We stayed here in the summer and the weather was a good bit cooler than NYC so was a welcome getaway with lots of outdoor activities and relaxing evenings in our room. Complimentary breakfast was not really as vegetarian friendly as we would've hoped, but when traveling outside metropolitan areas we expect this. Booked one of the log cabin style rooms and was really happy with the info provided in pamphlet, wished the staff would've been happier to answer questions, asked once about kayaking after waiting for woman to get off phone (understandable since there is only one person at front desk area) was told all of them were good, really wanted a bit more info than a list of names and after that wait seemed like a pretty canned response. The lack of cell service was welcome respite from our "connected" lives. The pond and chairs out back were not crowded as we stayed mid-week, the sand and surrounding area was maintained really nicely and the atmosphere was just lovely. All in all would totally go back for another relaxing getaway. The outdoor seating on porch and main house was really nice and keurig in the main house were nice amenities as well.
"When can i go back"

Found this place by recommendation .Turned up a bit early and it was no trouble at all .Staff were very friendly and welcoming .Booked a deluxe room in main hotel , and yes it was all old , but thats the point you dont go to a jem like this and expect all new stuff , you pay for the history and the quirkiness .My wife was in seventh heaven as she loves all this stuff quirky and loads of nooks and crannies .Bed was more like a mountain with two mattresses but oh so comfortable , four poster and a Gas fire , yes had seen better days and generous flicking of switch before it turned on but what the heck ,booked restaurant but didnt really need to as only a couple of people there .Bit expensive but wouldnt have been if we hadnt tried the trio of taster wines and then ordered a bottle of the one we liked .Be careful if vegetarian as menu bit limited for that but my wife survived .Staggered back to room for good nights sleep .Breakfast the next morning was very good , warm food on order as only couple of us in ,but an absolutely huge table of stuff on cold table from cereals to pastries / muffins and all sorts ,could not even have dented it even if i had tried .Was feeling sorry i had not booked an extra night but time was tight .If you have time make a point of going to the store just across the street , it is a goldmine of how old stores were , very friendly and told just to have coffee and cake and then just pay on way out, nobody hovering over you .Just time for a few photos and then wander back to Boston , this is prime country for winter pursuits so may come back some time when snow on hills and take a sleigh ride .Just a note as the company who run it are doing a refurbishment ,just hope they dont spoil the character of the place , but after talking to some of them i think they will take care .
"Lovely off-season long weekend"
11/12/14 Desami South Windsor, CT
We spent three nights over the Veterans Day weekend at Kedron Valley Inn. The staff was very cordial and friendly. When we had a problem (self-inflicted) with our TV/cable service in our room on Sunday evening, a member of the staff (on a Sunday evening on a holiday weekend!) came right out to our room and fixed the problem. We had room 18 on the ground floor of the building adjacent to the main building. The room was very spacious, with a wood burning fireplace which we tremendously enjoyed. The rooms do not have phones, and there is no cell phone coverage in the area of the inn, which was refreshingly nice when we have so much connectivity.... However WiFi works and the main building has a phone if needed. We just let our family back home know to email us or call the inn in an emergency. A couple of small things - the tub in the shower enclosure squeaked really loudly when moving in the shower, and if the room above was occupied, there was occasional sounds of running water, but neither of these were significant issues for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have rated the restaurant separately. The room was very dark, and quiet, given its proximity to the road passing the hotel. King size bed was very comfortable.
"A little tired"
11/10/14 Janandguy York
The whole place is a little tired and needs some updating. The carpets were very old and needed replacing, communal areas and corridors need more cleaning. We were initially given the downstairs room in the annexe but complained because the services for the 3 rooms above went through it. The sounds of water gushing both ways was awful. We were moved to another and compensated for it. We stayed for 3 nights and the first breakfast we experienced was good however the following 2 were not so. Things ran out and were not replenished.

My husband and I usually look for dog friendly hotels. They aren't always luxury unfortunately. On a recent stay in Vermont we chose the Kedron Valley Inn on the advice of a friend. The staff who greeted us on checkin were the most friendly I have ever encountered. They made us and especially or dog feel so welcome! Our room was in the lodge section ( pet friendly rooms). It had lodge decor which was tasteful and very comfortable. Most importantly, it was immaculate! Kudos to the house keeping staff and I am picky! The king size bed was so comfy! The recently renovated bath was lovely with a marble countertop, a tiled walk in shower and jacuzzi tub. The wood burning fire place added a cozy, romantic touch. Breakfast was included in our stay with the usual continental fair plus made to order eggs, pancakes and French toast specials of the day. All was delicious. Of special note is the morning cook, I think his name was Rob. He was delightfully sweet! We had dinner in the restaurant on our last evening and it was lovely. The food was prepared perfectly and the dining room is cozy colonial America. Again, the staff was some of the most friendly I have ever dealt with! Can't wait to return!!!
"A lovely country property"
10/29/14 CavalierJCS Princeton and Charlottesville
Conveniently located in a beautiful valley only a few miles outside the village of Woodstock, the Kedron is a charming property in a gorgeous setting. The inn offers a few styles of room, most noticeably the historic setting of the inn itself and the modern lodge-style rooms nearby. The decor is good if not exceptional, though the inn has many exceptional features: the expansive front porch, the ample and lively dining rooms, and the wonderful swimming pond (in season). As foodies, we enjoyed the dining room very much, in a refined comfort food mode--better, in our mind, than the Prince and the Pauper in town. But the menu doesn't seem to change much. Our biggest disappointment was breakfast: a rather lackluster warm buffet. Compared to the inns that understanding how game-changing breakfast can be (see, for example, Woodstock's Blue Horse Inn--superb!) breakfast here is merely serviceable, which is why I can't currently give the Kedron a fifth star.
"Loved our 2nd visit to the Inn !"
10/26/14 douglasjs4 Franklin, New Jersey
What is there not to like about the Kedron Valley Inn ? We had a lovely time, our room was spectacular ! The staff , our dinner , the wine , a cozy fire in our room, and a scenic walk around the grounds all made for the perfect get away to celebrate our 28th anniversary. The town of Woodstock is a must see and only a short drive from the Inn. We cant wait to do it again for our 29th !

A bit out of the way, but great Inn. Our room #2, had a gas fireplace and 2 easy chairs at foot of bed to enjoy the ambiance and what a bathroom, it was huge!! Breakfast was just ok. Service friendly and helpful.
"Used to be great, now just pretty good"
10/22/14 EagleEyeBoston Boston, Massachusetts
The Inn has had several owner / management changes over the years -- not for the better. The restaurant used to be an attraction, now you are more likely to dine elsewhere even if you stay here. Breakfasts used to be very nice, now more ordinary. Rooms in the annex building have lots of charm. The motel units are plain, but good if you bring your dog(s). Still a great location -- with no cell coverage (that can be a good thing!).
"Historic Inn and Fall colours"
10/16/14 jdmUk UK
The inn was pretty much as we expected and quite an impressive building. Its very old so it is a bit tired looking in places, but I think they could replace the threadbare hall carpets. Our room was ok and the bed was surprisingly comfortable despite its initial rickety appearance. The porch area is a nice place to sit with a drink and admire the fall colours around. I was pleasantly surprised with the meals. We ate a very good meal in the dining room one night and on the second night we ate in the tavern which had much more atmosphere and served a good burger. Both nights we had Nicky as our waitress and she was great, very entertaining too. Breakfast is adequate but not memorable. It is 5 miles out of Woodstock, but I think that works in its favour. Its nice to leave the tourists behind at the end of the day.
