Pepper Tree Motel - Ontario

Very disappointed in this place. There were no Kleenex, extra tpaper, coffee maker, hair dryer. Carpet was dirty. We had to pay for the ice from the ice maker. We had to leave $3 key deposit. Overall very disappointed.

This place was gross, gross, gross! The weird people hanging out in the parking lot at all hours of the night made me very uncomfortable and I could barely sleep because I was too worried that people were breaking into my car. Also, you hear nothing but trains passing by, planes taking off from the airport and loud neighbors in other rooms that are […] up all night. If you are looking for a place to catch a gross disease by sitting on their toliet seat or a place to bring a hooker, then this is the right place. The room had only two lights and was fairly dim. No kleenex in the kleenex dispenser and one lightbulb (out of four) burned out in the bathroom: small things, but indicative of a general carelessness. Also the room telephone was unplugged when I went to call the office to request a wake-up call. The hotel failed to provide my wake-up call even though […] I'd requested it by phone and followed up with an in-person visit to the office. Had I not awakened on my own (45 minutes after the requested time) I would likely have missed my flight. When I complained about this in the morning, the office attendant was highly apologetic, and assured me that he had programmed the call into the system, but if "the system" had indeed failed it was another indication of extremely lax maintenence and general carelessness. Even with the low rates offered by this motel I cannot recommend it and would suggest that Expedia drop it from its list. Read more

The room was clean, The bed only had 2 flat pillows. A wrinkled duvet, flat and fitted sheets. Cheap motel towels (Stiff and smelled like bleach). No Microwave or Mini fridge. TV was a 32" CRT 90's era. Room had poor lighting. They are on motion sensors which was annoying. The restroom was large. Our room had a jacuzzi/shower. the shower was ill conceived. […] there was no way for us to prevent from flooding the bathroom when using the shower. There was a shower curtain, but no drain to catch the water runoff on the sides. Wifi was fairly fast. The hotel key uses NFC. There was coffee and donuts available in the hotel lobby. ITS A MOTEL. I moved the desk in front of the door at 2am. Then I was able to go to sleep. Lots of noise in the parking lot--people listening to music & just hanging out. The office had a plexiglass window & and all the emergency phone numbers taped to the counter. I never felt safe. And they didn't have my reservations.

The front desk area was untidy with billing sheets out for everyone to see, must ring bell to get help. it is in more of a run down area of ontario. The outside looks to have been remodeled and looks good from the street. the room we were in had been remodeled but the door jams and light switches were dirty and had to be cleaned by my wife. The couch […] was broken and dirty, the bed cover was ripped. The bathroom was clean but the shower area was old, the shower head was old and did not adjust up and stay, but fall back down. The room was not as quiet as I would have liked, you could hear street noise and train horns. It was the worst place I ever stayed. There was no phone in the room, it had a jacuzzi tub that was disgusting. I asked housekeeping to please clean it and it didn't look any better so I thought it was stained but it came right off when I cleaned it myself. It didn't have a shower head. There was no remote control for the tv. They did get us a shower […] head and tv remote. When you took a shower the water would flow onto the back of the tile and out onto the floor. It was just disgusting. I checked the bed for bedbugs because that seemed like the only other thing missing. Thank goodness, there were no bedbugs. the only drawback is that the rooms are not well aerated: they have windows to one side only - and so there is no cross ventilation. Staff is very helpful and kind!

This place is awful. Attendants hardly speak or understand english. Gave me a room key that did not unlock room. On top of that the attendant tried to give me a smoking room keeping in mind that I have a 4 yr old daughter with me and 7month pregnant wife. It took us 45 mins to find an open room which made us miss the beginning of my cousins wedding […] that we were in town for. Asked me for a $10 deposit to borrow an iron then upon returning the iron refused to refund me my deposit because it was not noted in my bill that I deposited $10 for the iron.
