Hotel Finca Lerida - Panama

We were so pleased with our stay at Finca Lerida. It is a beautiful location up in the mountains about a 10 minute drive from Bouquete. The grounds are stunning and the hotel is located at the border of the Volcan National Park. The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was very modern. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. All we wanted to do […] was sit on the porch and listen to the birds. Even though there was a little rain, it made it even better since the clouds and rain added to the drama of being in the mountains. We would get up early in the morning to hike through the coffee groves and up to tropical rain forest. There were so many bird calls that we were constantly stopped in our tracks to just listen. We ate all of our meals at the hotel and loved each one. There are enough choices and things to try. Their rhubarb and strawberry crisp, coffee flan, delicious bread and butter with oil and balsamic vinegar, salads and, of course, coffee were so delicious. I also loved the breakfasts. One more positive thing to add is that I left my computer charger in the room and noticed it when we arrived at our next destination. I e-mailed Finca Lerida and received an immediate response from Osmar, the General Manager. He was quick to make suggestions and arrangements to have my charger arrive in Panama City overnight. It's quite a ways from the town of Boquete, so don't expect quick jaunts into town. The scenery is gorgeous and there are some nice trails to walk. But that is about all there is to do there. If that's your thing, then great. It worked for us. If not, then you might want to stay closer to town.

I was so impressed with this hotel. The location is excellant, about 6 miiles our of town up approx 2500 ft. The views are incredible the hotel grounds are meticulous. Our Room was perfect, the bed was so comfortable!!! We had the deluxe standard and the room included every amenity I could, The help was incredible, always there for anything we might […] need. We hiked from our hotel door up around the coffee plantation, this is a working farm and we witnessed first hand the labor involved in a coffee plantaion. Tours are available, but we opted to hike on our own. The trails were identified well. We hiked through rain forest to the waterfall as well...just beautiful!!! we were there in "off season" so there were only a few folks, but the weather was beautiful. The service and food in the restaurant was excellant and we especially enjoyed the waitress in the morning for our continental breakfast, (granola, all types of fruit and bread with special jams made on the premisesand a first for us...tomato tree juice.) Our waitress was so happy..it was obvious this was a great place to work. I can't say enough good things about Finca Lerida, we were so sad to leave. Read more

Great place beautiful, a little hard to find.....and breakfast very healthy but a bit spartan.... but I am American so read between the lines, "we are pigs". I would stay again.

Finca Lerida is a very special place. High in the Panamanian highlands in a cloud forest abutting Volcan National Park, Lerida abounds with flowers, birds, beautiful views and rainbows. Our room in the Ecolodge was very comfortable and the bath was modern, stylish, clean and appointed with some nice amenities (hairdryer, terrycloth robe, etc.). The […] birding and coffee tours were EXCELLENT. The staff is very friendly. The food is very good and well presented. The service, however, is uneven with a wait staff that is light on English ability. This latter shortcoming extends to the reception staff as well. The hotel really needs more people with English skills. Also, the billing for meals and other services was very confusing and awkward. They need to implement a better billing system. Finally, the Finca is about 3 miles from Boquete and a car is necessary to go anywhere outside the farm. There is hotel van pick-up service from David airport that was very helpful, but for trips into Boquete a taxi service has to be arranged if you don't have a rental car. Read more

We had a nice stay in this hotel. The location in the middle of the coffee fields was unique. Although the service in the restaurant was a bit slow we were served fantastic food. The tenderloin steak was the best. Beatifully appointed large rooms, enough to sleep the four of us. We would have loved to join the coffee tour but apparently the last one […] leaves at 14.00 hrs.
