"Good things but not great"
Remodeled hotel in mid town. The room was very clean and we really liked the distressed wood flooring, far cleaner than typical carpeting, the bathroom was small but very clean. Bed was comfortable. We did not like that the room had no bureau, an inconvenient closet, no spare pillow or blanketGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I never gave a review for anything ,but this time I had to. We had a great stay! We came to celebrate Oct 4th 2014 for one night! The staff was great and very attentive to our needs. They even surprised my daughter with a gift for her 21st birthday. The hotel was close to Penn station and port authority so no matter which way you came in it was in walking […] distance. We walked right to Time Square. The area in under construction, but what place in NY isn't. Had a great time and will go back . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for Penn Station"
I arrived at night and the street was dark and felt a bit sketchy. But once inside the hotel, all was well. I selected the hotel to be near Penn Station for an earlier morning train, and it was perfect. The room itself was unusual (wood floors instead of carpet, cool bathroom fixtures and tile) but comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Huge room with beautiful views. Great service. Central location. You could not ask for more. I come to New York every year and will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cool, hip new Hotel!"
Really fun hotel. very convenient location, close to Penn Station. Love the hip, younger vibe. Rooms were spacious and clean and well apportioned. Service was mixed - took 15 minutes to get my checked bags, but less than 5 minutes to get someone to check my AC which wasn't working (but, was easily remedied).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Birthday experience disappointing"
Stayed for birthday -staff was informed as well as write up that I received from Expedia prior to trip. Nothing was done to accommodate birthday despite request. Staff was apathetic at best to requests.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were surprised by the room we were given. I took my 2 teenage daughters to NYC for an overnight trip and expected the normal tiny room and this was spacious, 2 F baths, 2 flat screen TVs and a living room. We were thrilled. It was extremely clean and everyone was very nice and helpful. We would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Upgrade - Tryp Wyndham 35 st. NYC"
I was surprised to be "upgraded" to their "exercise room". Located on the 1st floor, separated from lobby so was pretty quiet. Room was quite large, skylight (shaded) over king sized bed. Equipped with it's own exercise bike and a exercise floor mat, with plenty of room to use. The caveat is that the entire room has bare floor...no carpet, even in the […] bed area, so it felt more like an exercise room with a bed, rather than a room with an exercise cycle. The view? A brick wall, but one would should not expect a great view on the first floor of any hotel. The floor has two exercise room , 2 "family" rooms (bunk beds, sleeper sofa I believe), and 2 "Samsung" experience rooms. Buffet breakfast free with voucher - no idea how one gets a voucher as i did not receive one. (Buffet looked quite good). Small[, boutique style lobby, clean and modern. Hotel was quite busy. I suspect i was upgraded because i was single traveler staying a single Friday night. Room would be ideal for business traveler who wants exercise privacy and needs to get in and out quickly...no need to wait on elevator ,although you may bump into people from the lobby area entering and exiting lobby restroom door located just outside entrance to 1st floor , i seem to recall those doors opening into the hallway. Wi-fi free and fast, at least on 1st floor. Kurig one cup coffee maker with pods....paper cups......shower and bath large and quite nice. Comfortable bed, desk chair too small and not height adjustable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is located next to a police station, which is great, but part of the surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. My room window faced a brick wall. However: the room was huge and immaculately clean. The bed was comfy. The toiletries were nice. The cable worked. I slept, and got a cab early the next morning to get to where I needed […] to go. I will keep this hotel in mind if I ever need an overnight stay in NYC again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed at this hotel with friends for one night. I made the reservation the day of and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I booked a deluxe room with two queen beds but we were upgraded to a premium room. We literally felt as if we had our own apartment for the night. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. They even held our bags […] for several hours after we checked out so we could go for brunch. Also, the location is great since it is a block away from Penn Station. Great hotel! "Two blocks from MSG"
I came into the city for a concert & stayed here...another huge deal on Hotels.com. Amazingly large & comfortable room for the city. Two block walk away from Madison Square Garden. What an great stay & thanku to the concierge for your sushi lunch suggestion on 40th st. Inakaya, it was the best sushi I've had in NY. Thanks as well as helping me get a […] taxi at 5:30am. "Nice and clean hotel with good location"
They upgrade our room to a bigger size room for free. Services was really nice. Very good location, easy to access to the metro. Room was very clean, good room decoration, great facilities and a welcome note from the housekeeper.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't miss this gem!"
Booked the property on line and of course not sure what we would get, but to our delight this is a wonderful hotel. From the moment we walked in the door we gave it a 5+ Star rating. The staff was very welcoming, the room was wonderful. Large, very clean, beds were awesome. We have recommended the property to several people already who are planning […] a trip to NYC. "Close to Times Square."
Not a fancy hotel room, but it was a clean space and the staff was helpful and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very clean hotel, staff was friendly, loved the location just a few blocks from Times Square. Easy to walk places and close to all the subway lines. There was no view from our room but I don't really care about that. Room was cleaned daily and thoroughly. Very modern decor. I highly recommend this hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel close to Penn Station"
This hotel is great, it's close to Penn station which was important for us due to out short trip. King room was nice size, bathroom was tiny but usable. Staff was nice room was ready at out arrival. Overall good hotel, nothing fancy but very comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Never staying here again...place is LOUD on Thurs"
Got a discount deal for a Thursday night, and figured out why. Around 6pm , music started blaring, I thought it was my next door guest, but no, it was coming from the lobby, and they had A LIVE BAND playing. The floors have no carpeting, so no insulation to absorb some of the sound. You can hear it clear as day, the sound coming right up the elevator […] shaft up to the 3rd floor. I was given absolutely no warning about this live music. I left to take a walk, do some shopping and get dinner, come back, music is still playing! Call front desk to ask when it will stop, she says 830pm, non-chalantly, like it's no big deal. That was definitely the most obnoxious racket I've ever heard in a hotel. Then, the guests to my left and right were loud and in and out of their rooms until 3am. Plus $40 bucks for parking, no validation. There's a freaking bar/lounge right int the main lobby, what kind of place is this? Never coming back here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Exceeded every expectation"
VERY CLEAN, excellent staff - attention to details A+++The room was gigantic for NY standards - we had the one with the bunk beds, king bed and pullout plus a Wii!!! It was also surprisingly quiet for being so close to Times Square. Easy access to express trains as well. Cannot say enough good things about this place!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
New and clean. The room wasn't as small as some other NYC hotels I've stayed at. Only complaint was that the hard floor made things a little loud. Anytime a chair moved upstairs I heard it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room, nice bathroom, however not what I expected from a 4 and 1/2 star hotel. Few amenities and no sheet on the bed, just a blanket. I have never seen that before and it was less than comfortable. Also no parking which is of course I tricky thing in NYC, the garage across the street cost $51 a night and said they had canceled their deal with TRYP […] so there was no discount. "All time favorite"
Prime location, nice hotel design, cozy room. My all time favorite. The only minus of this time stay is that I wish my shower was washed a little better. The lady who cleaned it left a nice note on the mirror, but I wish she used this time too wipe of the walls instead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Walls are very thin"
It really is in an amazing location, but the walls are extremely thin and it we could hear every noise from rooms not just next to us, but several doors down. I would highly suggest bringing ear plugs if you want to get any sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They were very helpful even let me check in early. Clean, great staff. Would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Modern, comfortable and convenient"
The hotel had a modern design in lobby and rooms, which also allowed for comfort and well-being. The location was convenient for major attractions, shopping, restaurants on 9th Ave, and museums. "Great hotel! Good price!"
The hotel is a great place to stay of you don't mind staying a few blocks away from the attractions in Times Square / Madison square garden area!! It's definitely worth the price difference !! The hotel rooms are quite modern looking and the hardwood floors and rain shower shower were great!! The paper thin walls were a small distraction, but that's […] the only major con. "Family Vacay in New York"
I felt the hotel was just ok. After paying a good chunk of money I was expecting alot more. There were a couple things that bothered me. 1. The privacy of the room, there were nights where I would lay in bed for 1-2 hours because my neighbors would have the TV high enough that I could hear what they were watching. 2. The cleaning of the bathroom- I […] felt all that was done with the bathroom was change the towels. I walked in on the maid plugging the sink and running hot water, that to me is not cleaning the room. 3. The wifi that the hotel offered was terrrribly slow (literally to the point we stopped using it 2 days into the trip. 4. The last issue was the TV wouldnt work a couple times. I would literally have to turn it off and turn it on again for it to work. I reported it to the front desk but it continued to happen. Onto some positives was the location was great because it was close to everything walking distance which made it nice. The staff was very friendly whenever I saw someone they made it a point to say hello and how are you. For paying for $200-300 a night I would except everything to work smoothly but it definitely didn't. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic Hotel-Walking distance from Penn Station"
I was visiting Manhattan for a Birthday celebration so booked a Saturday night stay. The lobby is modern & beautiful with a nice bar where you can order small plates. Great hotel not great location next time I'll stay at the New YorkerGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel offers a nice change of pace and a different look and feel. Not your grandmothers hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed at the Tryp Hotel this past weekend for a quick getaway with friends. The location is great because it's right near Penn Station and 42nd street. When I got to the hotel, I walked to the front desk to 3 staff members talking amongst themselves. No one made eye contact or greeted me at all. When they were finished, a young lady named Christina […] checked me into my deluxe king room. I stay at hotels a lot and usually when you check-in they give me the rundown on any events going on in the hotel (happy-hour, the name of the restaurant within the hotel, any extra activities, or perks). She did none of this. In fact, I felt rushed and no one was even in the hotel at the time I checked in. My friend and I got to our room and to our surprise it was a decent size for a NYC hotel. The room was pretty clean except for the fact that there was hair all over the bathroom and in the towels (EWWW!). We checked the bed and it was clean with no hairs. We settled in and headed to the bar in the lobby for a few drink. For $15 a drink, those speciality drinks were awful. They tasted like syrup and juice concentrate! *****there's an amazing low-key thai place around the corner called Aura. Their food is delicious and I would gladly pay $15 for their $4 happy drinks. Their food was great too! Walk a little further down to Pieface for amazing dessert! Our first night morning was a nightmare. We woke up to children screaming and running around at 6am!! I could not believe how paper thing their walls were!! They changed our room and we still couldn't escape the constant screaming and crying. When I checked out, the staff member asked me how my stay was and I explained to her my situation. She just looked at me like a deer in headlights, said ok, and went about her business. I personally will NEVER stay here again. If you dont mind children being your wake up call at 6am or dont mind inattentive staff members , this hotel is for you. "Spacious rm in midtown Manhattan"
It was a very spacious, modern room by NY standards. Two queen beds work well for 4 people. Ample towels. Only negatives were had to ask for fridge in the room and one curtain was not covering about 4 inches of window.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is in a pretty convenient location to exit Manhattan via 35th st to Lincoln Tunnel. Self parking is right before the hotel on the left, and is comparable in price to other parking locations. My first room AC unit didn't work, and the room was very small. I was able to switch rooms due to AC, and got a corner room, which was much bigger and […] had a desk in it. Bathroom was roomy, but not huge. Overall, the new room was very good, clean and people were friendly. The neighborhood is Garment district, and is convenient to times square, NY Penn Station and local Subway is only 1/2 block away. The immediate block is not very attractive, but suited my needs. I paid about $200 + fees = $240. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, very clean in convenient area."
We were in town for business and our stay was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and the bed wasn't too terrible. The only negative was that I am 8 months pregnant and was desperate for extra pillows since my husband and I only had 3 in our room. The hotel didn't carry ANY extra pillows, this just seemed plain […] odd to me! We asked two different people at two separate times and we seemed to get the standard answer each time.
