"Good and not so good"
Best front desk and concierge anywhere! I arrived midday and my room was already ready. However, that did not make up for the location across from a police station. Sirens in the night and THREE times heard garbage truck banging and beeping. Did not sleep well either night. UPon arrival the cleaning wagon blocked my doorway. The next day, after an exhausting […] business day returned to my room AFTER 3 pm and it had never been cleaned! Thought ALL rooms were cleaned by then. Hard surface floors meant I could hear the high heels of the guest in the roof above mine. Water pressure lame; I like a strong water pressure when taking a shower. So, it is a good place and a not so good place to stay. Depending on if you are a light sleeper and get stuck with a room on the street side.... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A pleasant surprise"
My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for some much needed R&R. Found the hotel on Hotels.com and thought we'd give it a try. For the money, we were delighted. For a somewhat smaller, boutiquey type hotel, it was adorable. The first room we had was small but cute; only problem is that there was a very loud family, with two or three young children, […] next door and it sounded like they were in our room. After a couple of hours, we had to ask the desk for a change and we were immediately accommodated and moved to a different room. This was larger and really nice. The hotel had a nice bar/restaurant in the lobby and was convenient in midtown. We would definitely consider Tryp next visit to NYC. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, room to improve"
Staff was very friendly. Cleaning could have been more thorough, dust on headboard corners, top of light fixtures never been cleaned, found hairs and stains in bathroom. Minor stuff but room for improvement.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The walls were a little thin, as others mentioned, and you could hear some noise. But the accommodations were great and the location seriously can't be beat. Hotel staff was helpful and amenities were a nice bonus!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall great stay"
Great room. Great location. Wife didn't like the lighting for make-up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"TRYP By Wyndham Times Square South - 4 days"
Overall good. Staff was pleasant and hotel was very clean. Room was not well lit at all and we had two double beds which were comfy but only one small chair. In fairness we didn't ask for more lighting or another chair but honestly I don't think we should have had to. Good place for a short stay. Would stay there again. Neighborhood we fine, next to […] police station but very quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice find near Penn Station"
Front desk people were friendly and efficient. Bed was very comfortable and room spotless. A nice surprise was the exercise bicycle in the room (which I used).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was pleasantly surprised by the hip, yet comfortable design of this hotel. While its common areas were small, it offered many amenities, including a fun bar. I took advantage of the free and fast WIFI and felt the room was comfortable. I especially liked the fact that it had motion-controlled lights in the bathroom. The only minor negatives I would […] point are as follows: - the water in the shower was tepid at best. I'm sure they could've fixed it, but I stayed just one night, so didn't discover this problem until the AM of my departure. - the heater is LOUD. It is forced air and to get the room comfortable I had to let it run for awhile. The only plus side is that the loud heater did drown out some outside noise. - the street on which it is located is dark and deserted. The police district is right next door, so that's the good news, but for non-urban travelers - though the subway is really close - they may want to take a cab if coming back late at night. I live in a City, but still was concerned when walking back by myself from the subway at 11pm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Room was clean and beds were comfortable - walls were a bit thin as we could hear our neighborsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Maybe 3+ Star Hotel"
This is not a 4-star hotel. Maybe 3+ stars at best. Sleep was difficult with noise in the alley outside and the AC was inconsistent. Best feature is that it is a decent hotel near Penn Station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good but neighborhood is scarce"
Good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice room and staff. I do not believe our beds were queen size as they had told us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I love this hotel. It's near Penn Station and other attractions. I will plan to stay here each time I come to NYC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was in an amazing location, right in the heart of the city but also one block down where it was not overly crowded. The hotel in general was very clean, modern, and beautiful. The room was very clean, well supplied, and spacious. I am overall very pleased with my stay at this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place to Stay!"
Very nice place to stay. Good size rooms for NYC. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a trendy hotel. It was a little bit farther from Time Sqare than I am used too.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenience to transportation"
We stayed two nights. Good location for Penn station but on a rather nondescript street. Very modern decor, rather austere. Clean and well maintained but the room is rather bare and could use some drawer space and a comfortable arm chair. Staff exceptionally nice and helpful. A good pick if you want a central location, although the hotel is not particularly […] homey. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great upper-middle tier priced, new-ish hotel, but the quality and comfort of the room are well above the price tier. Unspectacular location, but very convenient by foot to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Chelsea and Times Square. Happy to have had the chance to stay there and will do so again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall nice hotel. Stayed for a night. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean as well hotel. Location wasn't great but can walk to most places.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at this hotel because it was close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden (where we saw a show). It was the perfect location for us. The room was large enough to comfortably hold our family of four. At first I was a little disappointed that our view was of the brick building next door. However, that helped the room to be exceptionally quiet […] for a New York City hotel room (i.e., no noise from sirens, horns, or traffic). The breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant was great. The staff were great and helpful. We will definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, unfavorable location"
The hotel was quite lovely but it was located on a shifty street. While it served its purpose for our stay we will likely not stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quietest hotel in NYC"
Though the hotel faces on 35th, if you get a room in the back of the hotel, you'll have the quietest, darkest, most delightedly decorated room in the City. Oh: and also one of the larger rooms in NYC. Located a short walk from Theatre Row and a far enough-away-but-still-doable walk from the craziness of Times Square. A little more expensive than I usually […] try for, but worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Conveniently located but the room is tiny!"
Great bartender and excellent food! Service was fantastic all around but the rooms are very very small. Granted we are southerners where rooms are spacious and bathrooms are roomy. Entrance from 35th Street was a little shady; lots of construction around and sidewalks were frequently blocked. Fortunately it was close to 8th and once we got off of 35th, […] we were in good shape. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in good location."
This was our first trip to NYC and we loved it! The hotel was very nice and clean. Another plus was that it was in a great location - only a few blocks from Penn Station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Modern Hotel with large rooms"
This is a fantastic hotel. We love the modern feel of it and the rooms were the biggest we have experienced. The staff was great with our kids and with accommodating our needs. Convenient parking right across the street. We will be staying here again. I would recommend this to any family. Lots of room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great weekend getaway"
I was meeting a friend for a weekend in NYC. We have turned this into an annual affair. We were make plans a little late this year, and we couldn't get a room where we stayed last year. After doing some research chose Tryp based on price, location and the fact that it was a Wyndham Hotel. We could not have been more pleased. The hotel would appear to […] be newly remodeled and very well done. Modern but comfortable. The lobby is quite spacious with a nice, open bar and restaurant area that always seemed to be buzzing with activity. The rooms were very spacious by NYC standards. I particularly liked the fact that the room had hardwood floors, rather than carpeting. There was also a Keurig in the room, which is so much better than those other coffee-makers you typically see. The bathroom was nicely appointed with a very large glassed in shower. The area is a bit further south than I would normally choose, but my friend and I like to walk, so this was not an issue at all. About a 10 minute (max) walk to the center of Times Square. Easy access to the theater district as well. And for 'Project Runway' fans, Mood is only two and a half blocks away. There is a subway entrance only half a block down 35th and Penn Station proper is not much further than that. Very convenient for people coming in via Amtrak. This block of 35th is not exactly pretty, in fact it is downright ugly in parts, but don't let that scare you off. There is a police station right next door:) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice hotel"
Very nice hotel. Smaller room(to be expected in NY) but very clean, cozy and worked out great. Hotel within easy walking to Macys, Times Square and Empire State Building. There is a subway stop at the end of the block. Take the subway and go anywhere. Overall, the hotel was excellent and I will stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Girls overnite for a show"
3 of us stayed for 1 night. Great location to walk to theater district and downtown, close to subway entrance. We were upgraded to a family room that was huge! 2 full size beds, 2 fold down bunks and a sofa bed. Double sinks and a huge shower and plenty of toiletries and towels in the bathroom. Wood floors, a desk work station, 2 closets and lots of […] drawer space plus a keurig coffee maker and 2 flat screen tv's made this room more than adequate. Nice bar and a hip vibe. Will definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Close to Times Square, Madison and Empire State Building. We just walked going to the Macy's parade (about 4 blocks). Subway just in the corner and parking is across the street.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel but room is small!"
We went into NYC to see a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. The hotel is only a few blocks from MSG. Very nice hotel. Very small room, but, well appointed and clean & quiet. Close to good eating and activities, as well. I would definitely stay here again. But, don't stay here if you want a big room!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"MACY'S DAY PARADE"
pleasantly surprised. We came in for the parade, saw the parade and then called to see if we could have an early check-in. We were delighted when they said yes because we came straight from the train station to the parade and had our bags with us at the parade. We arrived there and everyone was friendly enough. The hotel lobby was very up to date. Our […] room was an absolute surprise! Clean!! Our bathroom was wonderful! Yes the room was small, but it was clean, that's the important aspect and right down the street from Macy's!! So we were able to do a little shopping after the parade. They even would have made reservations for us for dinner. We are hoping to stay again next year for the parade. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tuesday in NYC at the TRYP"
Perfect location, perfect. Across from the police dept for added safety but literally down the road from Madison Square Garden. The people there are engaging and interested in making your stay better. The room was clean (except for the mirror which someone had written on). Room is small, but so well done that everything you need is right there. It is […] NYC, so there is noise, at least there was on the third floor. But there is also hotel noise. The doors do not block out the hallway noise and housekeeping starts their rounds at least as early as 8:30am. Good and bad, I suppose, we were able to check in 2 hours early. We were only there the one night and vacuuming at such an early hour and the knocking on the door to ask if we wanted the room made up was well, annoying! Didn't you check with the front desk? There are nightly drink specials. We were there on a Tuesday night, and the special was Tequila well drinks for $5. Not worth the money. The "margarita" was some kind of tequila with a mystery beverage added - pale peach in color. It was awful, just awful, and I like tequila. We didn't finish it, it was that bad. I would stay there again without hesitation. The staff was very nice and outgoing. It was clean. It was safe. It has the perfect location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel and nice people at front desk!"
Great trip. Nice breakfast buffet! The front desk people were very pleasant and have us complimentary passes!Genuine Expedia guest review
The lobby of the hotel is great, so cute! However the rooms feel a little cheap. The bed was comfy enough and we slept well. It was close to shopping and attractions but the block the hotel is on felt a little sketchy and unsafe.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall, good hotel. We had trouble with noise from nearby rooms, WELL into the morning. Room location near stairs and elevator was very noisy. Wake up call was late. On the upside, the room was comfortable and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
