"Great Place to Stay!"
Very nice place to stay. Good size rooms for NYC. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenience to transportation"
We stayed two nights. Good location for Penn station but on a rather nondescript street. Very modern decor, rather austere. Clean and well maintained but the room is rather bare and could use some drawer space and a comfortable arm chair. Staff exceptionally nice and helpful. A good pick if you want a central location, although the hotel is not particularly […] homey. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Modern Hotel with large rooms"
This is a fantastic hotel. We love the modern feel of it and the rooms were the biggest we have experienced. The staff was great with our kids and with accommodating our needs. Convenient parking right across the street. We will be staying here again. I would recommend this to any family. Lots of room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Girls overnite for a show"
3 of us stayed for 1 night. Great location to walk to theater district and downtown, close to subway entrance. We were upgraded to a family room that was huge! 2 full size beds, 2 fold down bunks and a sofa bed. Double sinks and a huge shower and plenty of toiletries and towels in the bathroom. Wood floors, a desk work station, 2 closets and lots of […] drawer space plus a keurig coffee maker and 2 flat screen tv's made this room more than adequate. Nice bar and a hip vibe. Will definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel. Walking distance to Javits. Book a double queen room if you are claustrophobic the single queen rooms are tiny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, Modern, Friendly, Convenient."
We visit NYC once or twice a year and this hotel is in a great location. Close to Penn Station and Subways yet able to walk to many places as well. Felt safe (helps to be next to police station) and modern.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel but room is small!"
We went into NYC to see a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. The hotel is only a few blocks from MSG. Very nice hotel. Very small room, but, well appointed and clean & quiet. Close to good eating and activities, as well. I would definitely stay here again. But, don't stay here if you want a big room!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly, convenient place to stay"
Friendly, helpful staff. Large room by Manhattan standards. Comfortable bed. Great Midtown location. Accessible to major streets and subway lines. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"MACY'S DAY PARADE"
pleasantly surprised. We came in for the parade, saw the parade and then called to see if we could have an early check-in. We were delighted when they said yes because we came straight from the train station to the parade and had our bags with us at the parade. We arrived there and everyone was friendly enough. The hotel lobby was very up to date. Our […] room was an absolute surprise! Clean!! Our bathroom was wonderful! Yes the room was small, but it was clean, that's the important aspect and right down the street from Macy's!! So we were able to do a little shopping after the parade. They even would have made reservations for us for dinner. We are hoping to stay again next year for the parade. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tuesday in NYC at the TRYP"
Perfect location, perfect. Across from the police dept for added safety but literally down the road from Madison Square Garden. The people there are engaging and interested in making your stay better. The room was clean (except for the mirror which someone had written on). Room is small, but so well done that everything you need is right there. It is […] NYC, so there is noise, at least there was on the third floor. But there is also hotel noise. The doors do not block out the hallway noise and housekeeping starts their rounds at least as early as 8:30am. Good and bad, I suppose, we were able to check in 2 hours early. We were only there the one night and vacuuming at such an early hour and the knocking on the door to ask if we wanted the room made up was well, annoying! Didn't you check with the front desk? There are nightly drink specials. We were there on a Tuesday night, and the special was Tequila well drinks for $5. Not worth the money. The "margarita" was some kind of tequila with a mystery beverage added - pale peach in color. It was awful, just awful, and I like tequila. We didn't finish it, it was that bad. I would stay there again without hesitation. The staff was very nice and outgoing. It was clean. It was safe. It has the perfect location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel and nice people at front desk!"
Great trip. Nice breakfast buffet! The front desk people were very pleasant and have us complimentary passes!Genuine Expedia guest review
The lobby of the hotel is great, so cute! However the rooms feel a little cheap. The bed was comfy enough and we slept well. It was close to shopping and attractions but the block the hotel is on felt a little sketchy and unsafe.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall, good hotel. We had trouble with noise from nearby rooms, WELL into the morning. Room location near stairs and elevator was very noisy. Wake up call was late. On the upside, the room was comfortable and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One of the best!"

"Stay here, close to Times Square"
Great great great hotel!! Short walk from Times Square and a metro is literally outside and will take you everywhere in newyork. Rooms were beautiful and very modern and CLEAN. Shower was incredible!!! We were on the 9th floor and got a corner king room, no view but also there was no noise and was very comfortable to sleep in. The first night we arrived […] the hotel staff was very helpful and was more than happy to offer help with any questions we had as tourists Lastly no free breakfast... Which kinda sucked because not to many choices nearby and if you did want breakfast there is was a buffet for almost $20 a person! To pricy when you have multiple people. But overall FANTASTIC experience for the price.. I paid a little more than I hoped but I know the prices lower and one can get a good deal for how nice this hotel is. Very good hotel for the price. We paid $150 and this room was as nice and bigger than other rooms in other hotels where we have paid between $250-$300. Room was actually quite spacious. Very clean. Hotel staff nice and attentive. Location is good in my opinion, close to the action and also close to the subway. We would stay there again for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy! And long time for check in!!"
I waited 40min till my reservation showed up in their system! Meanwhile I was waiting in the lobby with my luggage. The staff were friendly and nice though. Room was noisy with people hitting on wall and speaking on hallway especially in the morning. I woke up to this. However, room was very clean and nice, service was good and everything else was […] perfect. I would still recommend this hotel and I might stay in it again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and Close to Penn Station"
Nice hotel that was clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and efficient. There was a lot of noise from the hallway all night with guests that were coming and going and the noise from outside woke me up several times. It is close to Penn Station. I felt safe walking to and from the hotel but it looks as if the street has seen better times. That […] being said I would stay here again but I think I would try and get a room up higher to get away from the street noise Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will definitely stay here the next time I'm in NYC"
TRYP Wyndham was just lovely! Quiet and spotlessly clean. The staff was personable and helpful. The bathroom was terrific!! My only complaint was that the bed was a bit hard, but that's my complaint with most hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel experience I have had in NYC"
Had rented room in advance for 1 night for business, but traveled to NYC several nights early. First day - my wallet was stolen, and TRYP rented me a room despite having no physical form of ID (instead accepting a photocopy of my stolen license). Then next morning, I extended my stay with them another night to bridge the gap between prior night and […] my initial reservation. This was accepted, and all was fine until I was suddenly contacted at 3:30 pm and given <30 min to vacate, claiming they couldn't accept a copy of a license as a form of ID, despite the fact I stayed there 2x within 3 wks and the night before. They essentially kicked me out on the street without any time to make another reservation in place of the one they had guaranteed me. Prices had now gone up, costing me more than had they let me know earlier, it was below freezing outside, and I had nowhere to go until making another reservation. They made no effort to help resolve the situation, and showed absolutely no concern for my well-being, in particular the manager Ben E. They didn't offer the slightest bit of help to find alternative reservations, patience or suggestion in coming up with an acceptable form of ID. After being dismissed to the street, I called two other hotels and Expedia - all helpful in finding an acceptable ID or alternative. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Poor Sound Insulation"
I was very disappointed by this hotel. The first room we stayed in had an adjoining door and in the night we could hear EVERYTHING from the room next door (not ideal if you have children in your room). The second room was better but again poor sound insulation. The hotel was modern and clean but soulless and lacking in any real amenities. For the price […] and rating I expected better. "Nice-contemporary interior design."
Very Modern setting -lobby suitable for lounging at the bar or dining area. Room had a very nice layout as well. Convenient to many restaurants and shopping. Went to see a Broadway Play-about a 10 block walk. Staff very friendly & accommodating. Some construction going on in the area at the moment -but was not much of an inconvenience. "Clean hotel in NYC"
I stayed at Tryp for 4 nights and had an overall good experience. The hotel is located near Penn Station, which was convinient for my travel around the city. The one downside was there was a ton of construction going on on the street of the hotel so walking by that everyday was not visually appealing. The rooms were very clean, which was very nice to […] see. The hotel staff was very nice and answered any questions I had. If I could change one thing about the hotel it would have been the "Gastro Bar". This was an average hotel bar at best. It had a very common selection of alcohol and beer on tap; so I believe it did not live up to the expectations of a "Gastro Bar". It was not a place I would want to have more than one drink at before moving on. My only other complaint is that my girlfriend and I put the "Please Make Up Room" sign on our door one day around 1pm when we went out for the day, and when we got back the room was not made up. This happened on only one day, but if it happened more than once it would have been a problem. I would stay there again just for the cleanliness of the rooms and the location in relation to public transportation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay in NYC"
The location is great- only a few blocks from Penn Station. The hotel room was one of the largest hotel rooms I've stayed in for NYC standards- with 2 beds and a sitting area. The beds were comfortable and hotel staff was friendly. Close enough to catch the subway to the theatre district. Enjoyed our stay and next day mimosas at the hotel bar.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice place to stay"
Everything was great at this hotel, beautifully decorated and very good service. Although we must complain about the treatment of our luggage when the concierge kept them for the afternoon after check-out for a small hotel fee; the luggage were battered in excess and our fine suit bags were torn. Upsetting issue.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel in perfect location in NY and Quiet!"
Nice hotel, the room was one of the largest I have ever stayed in (especially in NY city)! Clean and comfortable. Our room faced the alley and we did not hear any traffic noise at all. Large bathroom with nice shower head and fluffy towels. Only complaint was the chair for the desk was not adjustable and too low so we had to sit on a pillow from the […] bed. "Great hotel all around!"
What a great find!! - I was in a 'Family Room' which was absolutely massive by NYC standards; honestly couldn't believe the size of it. - Loved, loved, loved the hard wood floors. Maybe it's just me, but I find the carpets in even the nicest hotels to be suspect...they can't really be that clean. I really liked the wood floors as an alternative and […] wish more hotels went this route. - Was initially disappointed to be on the 1st floor (after requesting a higher floor), but the room was amazingly quiet. Like, really quiet. - Bed was super comfy. - Shower/bathroom, while really small considering the size of the room overall, was well appointed and nicely arranged. Great toiletry items - shave kit, toothbrush kit, shower cap, etc. Items you wouldn't normally find in hotels. - As someone else noted, the sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner was a nice surprise (those of you who color your hair know what I'm talking about). - Well within walking distance to the theater district, Penn Station, public tranport, etc. - The only 'negative' I can say (which isn't a deal breaker for me) is that the desk attendants weren't exactly welcoming at all, which given everything else about the hotel, I was really surprised by. The woman who checked me in spoke so quitely that I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. When I came back for a room assignment (I had initially arrived early so they held my bags while I went out on the town) and expressed disappointment in the room Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ideal for our weekend getaway!"
My husband and I brought our daughter to NYC to celebrate her 13th birthday. TRYP was the perfect location--very close to Penn Station, easy to hop onto the 1 train to Battery Park (Statue of Liberty ferry) and 9/11 Memorial, walking distance to theaters, restaurants & shopping in Times Square, easy access to the High Line. The room was plenty big and […] very comfortable--even the bathroom was big. Nicely furnished. Nice bar & lobby. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. A huge thank you to the housekeeping staff--our daughter left her phone in the room after we checked out--we called the hotel 2 hours after we had checked out and they had it at the front desk! Really, we couldn't have asked for a better place for this special weekend! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A True Jem"
This hotel was a great find! The service was excellent. We were able to get an early check in, which was a lifesaver after arriving on the train on a freezing cold day with a crying toddler. The room was immaculate, had two bathrooms, a large open living area and a bedroom with two queen sized beds. The location of the hotel was close to a lot of tourist […] attractions: Times Square, the Empire State Building Madison Square Garden, etc. We were able to walk everywhere (even Central Park, although that was quite a hike) due to the central location. "Great Hotel! Will stay here again!"
We booked a 3 night stay at the TRYP by Wyndham for a family vacation. (3 people) Having never heard of the TRYP we weren't sure what to expect, especially in NYC. Upon arrival we knew we would love the hotel. We arrived at night and the lobby bar was full of people and energy...a very hip vibe! The staff was friendly at check-in. When we got to our […] room we were even more thrilled. It was not the size of a closet, it was very modern/hip and it was clean! The room had twin queen beds, a nice size desk, a built in armoire (no closet per se) and a small fridge. There was plenty of room to move around and not trip over each other. The bathroom is small (probably not for NY), but the shower was a nice size walk in and again, very hip/modern and clean. The location is about a block away from Madison Square Garden/Penn Station so transportation was not an issue. It felt very centrally located to us. We could either walk to where we wanted or hop on a subway. Every day we came down the Concierge would ask if we needed any directions or suggestions. We did not, but you don't always get that at a 'bigger' hotel. As a bonus, the hotel is right next to a police station so we felt very safe! We could not have been happier and will stay here again the next time we are in NYC. I would recommend the TRYP by Wyndham to anyone! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
