If you aren't […] into loud music and someone screaming into a microphone you should probably avoid the pool area from approximately 12 - 5pm. I went to a few of the shows at night which I wasn't very impressed with (there don't start until 9:45 and are beyond cheesy) but the outdoor theater/bar is really nice. The food itself ranged from so so to average with a few exceptions (excellent coconut chicken, they have a donut bar in the morning where they make fresh donuts in front of you, there is a self serve ice cream machine in the Mexican restaurant by the beach which is just fun). While there was a decent selection of food especially at breakfast the food for the most part remained the same each day and did get old very quickly. There are 3 or 4 restaurants in the hotel, if you prefer to be served. I tried the steak house (which was good) and the gourmet restaurant (which was OK). While the restaurants were a nice change from the buffet and the service was excellent, the same food from the buffet was served. I recommend this hotel and would definitely go back. Read more

Wonderful place. Staff was wonderful. Was in a master suite which was beautiful and the greatest balcony with private jacuzzi. Would have liked to see more activities offered and more vegetarian selections in Speciality Restaurants. Pools and beach were the greatest.

Housekeeping was a let down. Our room didn't get cleaned two of the five days we were there. Coffee cups & sugar didn't get replinshed. Had a maintenance problem but was resolved after two requests. Overall was a great trip.

There were selections for just about everyone, and I love fresh guacamole which was at every meal. The restaurants were all very good. The Japanese restaurant had great service, the food was good, but I was not a fan of the chefs doing the "whoop whoop" during dinner when you are trying to have a conversation with your significant other. The pool and beach were outstanding. If you want the beach to be like the pool this beach is not for you. If you want some waves to play in like I do, then this is the place. The pool and the staff doing volleyball, and every other water sport you can think of were great. There are plenty of chairs pool-side so no need to get up early to reserve a spot like most places, this was a big deal for us choosing this hotel. The room was nice, we had an ocean view even though we didn't pay for it. The problem I had with the room is that the air conditioning had to be on all the time to keep the room even remotely cool, and on all night to try and sleep. I have been to all-inclusive resorts at several cities in Mexico, and Iberostar is now the top one out of those in my book. I highly suggest this resort for couples/family/singles. Read more

Overall the hotel was great. There were a few things that weren't ideal though. First, when we arrived at 3pm (check-in time), we were told that we would not be getting a king bed in our room but instead two queen beds. It was just my wife and I so this wasn't what we had planned on as we had requested a king when we booked the room. We then were told […] that the room wasn't ready yet and it should be ready in 25 minutes. We ended up having to wait a few hours before the room was ready. Since we didn't have our bags, we ended up wasting most of the first day of our trip waiting for our room instead of relaxing on the beach as we had planned to do. The other thing that we had read online was that the food was good. This was definitely not the case. You have to find one or two things that you like and eat them over and over. We ended up going out in Cancun for our dinners since we couldn't stand to eat the food at the resort more than twice a day. Read more

I spent a month researching Cancun and the different hotels in the area. Overall Iberostar got a good rating (although you can't please everyone) so we went with it! From the minute we walked in we were in paradise. The staff greeted us and handed us a fruity drink before checking in. Not once did I pass a worker without them saying hello to me. The Buffet had a lot of options, and was good for a buffet. Those that complained must not realize this is a BUFFET not fine dining. We only tried the Japanese restaurant (the ones you had to have reservations to) and liked it so much we ate there twice. Breakfast lunch and dinner was really good throughout the resort. The place was SPOTLESS, I never saw trash EVER. All of the waiters, bartenders, beach waitresses were very attentive. I also loved the location, it's about 5 min from downtown but you are also away enough from all of the drunk kids, and I feel it's so much CLEANER where we were. Anyone who complained about this place is just nuts and probably complains about everything in life. I would 100% recommend it to anyone..families, hooneymooners, retiree's etc. The night entertainment was great, we looked forward to each show. Pros -Pool areas! Probably the best pools I've seen at a resort. Lots of different areas, plenty of room, bar in the pool and 2 others very close-by, umbrellas, cushioned chairs -Beds. Probably the softest beds I've slept in in a Cancun resort. -Beach drink service. We had one server both days who was very attentive and friendly. She stopped by frequently […] and even requested some specialty drinks she thought we'd enjoy. Cons -Drink service everywhere else. At every buffet meal we had, we had to wait for water quite a bit. Once even close to 10 minutes. I even tried to go get myself some water, but there were no glasses available by the service station. Poolside drink service was pretty slow as well. We always tip, but that didn't seem to "help" us any here. -Food. We know what to expect with the buffets in Cancun and are fine with them. But, we also like to visit the other restaurants at night. Even though there was hardly anyone visiting this resort we could never get a reservation. One night, we just showed up and got a seat, but the rest of the time they were all "booked". I found that hard to believe. -View. Didn't have a great view. Mostly the roof of the buffet restaurant. Asked for a higher level since it was clear there would be rooms available, but we got shot down. Room was only cleaned once. Housekeeping didn't come until 5pm the 2nd day, and we were in the room, so we sent them on. We've stayed at 5 different resorts in Cancun over the past 6 years. Read more

Stayed here 4-8 October 2012. Hotel wasn't full. Service and food was excellent, both in the buffet as in teh a la carte restaurants. Alcoholic beverages all original brand, no local stuff. Went snorkeling and diving from the Iberostar Paraiso, about 30 minutes from this hotel (at Iberostar Cancun, no snorkeling or diving possibilities).

Exceeded our expectations in so many ways! The all inclusive feature was so awesome. Only suggestion, bring your own suntan lotion as its pricey all over cancun, especially in the gift shop. Loved our honeymoon and want to return again.
