"Nice motel, slightly pricey for the off season!!"
Nice stay, for two days of my stay, I was the only person on the property, being across the street from the police department, safety was not an issue. The property is really, really worn. Needs refurbishing, but still decent! Would not pay high season prices for this motel!! All in all; nice stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, close to beach and places to go."
it was an easy check in and out, freindly staff. We would come back the next time we come into town.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to beach, but not well-kept"
If you are looking for a less-expensive place that is close to the beach, you've found it, given that you are willing to forego a few things. Our room looked pretty run down (the plaster in the bathroom was falling down, the kitchenette was well-worn), but there wasn't any obvious sign of dirtiness. With that said, the room just "felt" dirty. We were […] in town for a running event and just wanted a good night of sleep. Unfortunately, we did not get that. The neighborhood is VERY loud. There is a bar right next door and people were partying all night. Several car alarms went off during the night. If you don't mind that, then you might be satisfied with the hotel. If you want peace and quiet, I'd recommend finding a different place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It is what it is"
The hotel is ugly from the outside, not well kept, old, and dirty but close to the beach (very nice). The room was a good size and we got luck with a nice corner balcony with a great view of the lake. The room itself was dirty and had a musty smell. We slept with teh windows open to deal with that. Also the pipes in the hotel make noise all night so […] that was very annoying. I told the receptionist guy about this but he did not seem very concerned about this and brushed it off. The office where he sits is also a toxic musty smell. Very unpleasant smelly check in. Overall, the location was great since we came for the Dewey Beach Triathlon. It was bikers week too so the $200 we spent per night (we stayed 2 nights) were painful. It was the cheapest option we could find but defintely not worth that price. I hope never to stay in that hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, but out of date."
The motel is in a good location, close to beach and bay. Though lots of people up and down street at night for local bars. The sliding door to private balcony did not lock and a container of cigarette butts wasn't emptied over the 2 days there (we are non smokers, and was a non-smoking room.) Bathroom could have been more thoroughly cleaned (toilet). […] Needs overall updating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Average but great for pets"
I rated this motel as average because it was fine for travelling with pets. Otherwise, it would be a 1. The complaints are the drain in th etib was very slow and nearly clogged in room 206, and there was no enfrocement for pet parents to clean up after their pets on the motel property o fthe surrounding areas. This includes no enforcement by the local […] police which was steps away. Everyone please pick up the pet poop!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Longtime customers..disappointed this time"
Have been coming here for years. Great location near Rusty Rudder. Easy walk to many other restaurants and great night life entertainment. Price is fairly inexpensive, however, the staff didn't seem to care that we chose there to stay. Always remembered staff being friendly and attentive, this time was different. Forgot to clean our room the first day […] and then missed stocking some key amenities such as towels and toilet paper. If you don't mind sacficing service and quality for price and location then you should be OK staying here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice location close to both the beach and restaurants. You do need to cross Highway One to get to the beach though.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The dirtiest hotel I ever stayed in"
The only thing this place has going for it is its close proximity to the beach. That was the main reason I booked it. I didnt want to have to drive and park near the beach. It was dirty, dated, and in need of renovations. The carpet in our room made us feel dirty when we walked barefoot. The AC wasnt working too well, and upon inspection found it to […] be a severely dirty air filter. Bathroom wasnt very clean either. The parking lot gets really packed as well, and there were a few times where I parked in the last available spot in the lot. For what we got, I felt as though we overpaid. Im kind of curious what happens to all the money that Sea Esta hotels receive when guests stay at their hotels. It sure isnt used for renovations. Overall, I would not stay here again. "Sea esta III"
The hotel was not as clean as expected, broken towel rack, and chairs on balcony seemed cheap and wobbly. Wifi barely connected.Genuine Expedia guest review
Rooms and hotel are dated. It's a typical summer time beach hotel run them in run them out get ready for the next check in.Genuine Expedia guest review
My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for vacation. The room was spacious and clean, not particularly luxurious but comfortable. It is located in walking distance to the beach and several bars which was nice. The hotel staff was very friendly. It's a good value to stay a couple night at the beach since hopefully you'll be out enjoying the beach more […] than your room. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"worth the money"
10/21/13 bull69 Havertown, Pennsylvania
I rate alot of things "are they worth the money"? and yes this was worth the $59.00 a night we spent. The lady who checked us in was a little rude. I wish they would spend a little money and upgrade the tv's from the old tube 13" to something you can at least watch.
"Not fancy but great for dogs and the beach"
10/21/13 Della M Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, United States
I've stayed at Sea Esta 3 many times - usually in March but not during the high summer season. I have always found it clean, everything worked in the room, and the management and housekeeping staff could not have been nicer. This is not high luxury, but is comfortable and great for the beach, excellent value. I'm heading back in a few weeks for a long weekend - my dogs adore romping on the lovely beach.
"OK For a Short Trip With the Dog"
09/09/13 Portia S Lanham, Maryland
I needed a place to stay with my dog while I attended a business meeting in nearby Bethany Beach. Stumbled upon this motel not expecting much after reading the reviews and didn’t get much. The good – the room was large, the mattress firm, there was a bit of a view of water (the bay) from the balcony, the beach (ocean) was right across the street, the restaurants were dog friendly, the air conditioner worked, the room only cost $65 the first night. The bad – air conditioner was very loud, the sheets were so thin you could see thru them, the tiny refrigerator did not get the beverages very cold, the second night of the stay on Saturday the room price jumped $100.00 (I knew in advance), dogs are not allowed on the beach until 530pm, the TV is maybe a 15 incher and gets very few channels, ice is located on the first floor only. It is a motel after all and if this is all you need or expect - it is a good place to stay - if you are used to more and expect more this is not a good place to stay.
We were completely appalled by the condition of the room! We were not expecting the Ritz by any means because we brought our dog! The hallways and stairways are filthy!!! Upon walking to the room noticed that the bottom of the door was kicked in and door handle was pushed in and patch repaired!!! Mini fridge was warm and freezer had a huge block of ice in it. Walls had mildew on them in several places! Mold/Mildew was all through the air conditioner!!! The ceiling had mildew on it with dead insects stuck to it as well! Carpets badly stained and filthy! No screen to the balcony, just a sliding door that had a lock rigged onto it! Sheets and pillowcases appeared to have been clean but stained! Balcony was filthy and the view was of a roof and someone's backyard! We didn't even mind that the place was really outdated! We just wanted a clean place to stay! The place is in need of MAJOR renovations and needs industrial cleaning done! The manager was so rude and dismissive! Spoke to Brandon though and he explained that they are under new management and didnt have much time to fix the rooms!? If you're looking for a place to stay that is relatively close to beach access and you have low expectations of the conditions of your accommodations, then maybe Sea Esta 111 would be acceptable!
"Ok but definately not going to return"
07/31/13 sayrahhhh Scranton, Pennsylvania
We stayed on the 2nd floor in a room with 2 double beds. Our trip started off bad when the man at the office desk was incredibly ignorant and rude to us. We arrived at 11:00am and were simply inquiring about parking our car in the lot so we could go to the beach and possibly check in early if it was possible. The man (chubby approx 40-50 years old) was in a bad mood just shook his head at us then rolled his eyes when I didn't know my license plate number. After that the room was alright, the tiny fridge was really helpful with storing food. The beds were ok, nothing special. Our next problem was that the water in our bath tub took a ridiculously long time to drain so whenever we showered the water would fill up and be very high (which is gross especially when in a hotel tub). The room was clean and their cleaning crew was really nice. Forget about using the Wi-Fi because it's slower than a turtle walking across a street. The rooms have balconys which was a nice touch. Next time we come to Dewey we will stay somewhere else

I stayed in a room with two double beds with two others and two dogs (one little, one big). I was worried the space was too cramped, but it turned out to be fine. The mini fridge was great to stock snacks and water for the beach. More than anything, their Wifi was awesome. I found out the day before leaving that I was going to have to work the first day I was there, possibly all day. I was scoping out places that had Wifi so I could go there and was pleasantly surprised to see the Sea Esta III had free Wifi for guests. I was able to stay in the room and work in a comfortable place all day. The beds weren't too comfortable, hence only four stars to five, but really, it's Dewey. When going with friends and hitting the 'circuit' of hangouts, any bed will do.
"great value for the off season"
10/26/12 c2it03 Norfolk, Virginia
stayed here wed/ thur and departed friday . its not a 4 star hotel. What you get is a basic place to lay your head. The beds were comfortable, comforter and sheets really should be replaced the same with the towels. Poor internet connection at its best. I def would stay here off season bit would not during season. i would spend the extra bucks and go to a chail hotel
We stayed here one night on our way to Ocean City. Great location, only a short drive to Rehobeth Beach. Prices were great. We could see the bay from our balcony. The rooms were nice and clean. quiet even though pets were allowed, we never heard any dogs barking. Would definately stay here again.

We had a very nice time @ Dewey Beach. The Sea Esta III was nice and clean! We also took our dog with us which was nice! The place could use some updating, but it was still nice! The only problem we had was some drunk guys knocking on our door @ 1:30AM, they were @ the wrong room! It's nice & close to the beach & within walking distance to alot of shops and places to eat & drink! The balcony was an added bonus! I usually always take our own pillows & I'm glad I did... the ones on the bed were pretty crappy. Other than that... no complaints!
