"Very convenient to Dewey and Rehoboth Boardwalk"
We had a really great experience here, and loved that we were able to bring our dog along with us to the beach. The hotel is no frills, just the basics, but it is super close to Dewey Beach, which allows dogs outside of the 9:30-5:30 window and just a few minutes' drive to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The woman at check-in was very friendly. The wifi […] didn't work while I was there, but that wasn't a problem since we were mostly at the beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"cheap for what you get"
it was cheap for a hotel very close to the beach and right next to our job site. very accessable to the main drag plenty of parking rooms recently refurbed the cons are the tv is an old tube style the bed is harder than the floor.... floor was concrete but still an amazing valueGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Go someplace else"
No Wifi connection available (despite what they tell you), sheets were never changed during the 3 days we were there, dirty floors (bring slippers), snippy staff, the towel bar fell off the wall and there wasn't a hook in the place to hang anything. ON the plus side, all the free ice you could want!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"What a dumpy place!"
Thankfully we did not spend much time in our room. Perhaps paying just $100 per night for a place near Rehoboth Beach is not enough to stay in a nice and clean place. The room felt and smelled unclean. The shower/tub did not drain. The whole place felt like a 3rd world experience. I definitely won't stay there again or recommend it to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"For a few nights only - if you have to."
Room AC points directly at bed several inches away, making it totally useless. WiFi was spotty at best - also very slow. Room/maid service was sporadic, sometimes they came and cleaned, sometimes not. Water pressure was weak at best, and there were no extras (pillows, sheets) if you needed them. Floors were dirty, drawers were dirty, power outlets burned […] out, TV is small CRT style - a lot of color bleed. Fridge door did not close all the way. The only saving grace was the price was right and the staff was friendly. This is not a place to relax in, it's a place to sleep in. Dewey Beach is walking distance, which is nice. "Not spectacular but better than we expected"
It was fine. Nothing spectacular but better than we expected after reading other reviews. The room and linens were slightly run down and the room did smell of cigarette smoke. It was very quiet and fairly clean. A refrigerator, a TV, a microwave. I felt the quality of the room matched the price and location. It worked just fine with our two young children. […] Overall, we were satisfied. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the price"
The room wasn't the cleanest but it also wasn't filthy. The fridge was gross though. For the price, the room was overall decent and I will probably book here again. The location was perfect, short walk to the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Last minute booking for an ad hoc trip to the beach. For the price, it's much nicer than what I was expecting. The staff was very very very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pay a little more to stay somewhere else. It's worth it. Internet doesn't work except by picnic tables outside. Bed covers were disgusting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Typical beach motel"
Headed to Dewey beach for a bachelor party. The motel was conveniently located to Dewey beach. We were able to walk to the beach and the main attractions in Dewey in 10 minutes. Rehoboth attractions were within a 5-10 minute drive. We only slept and showered in the hotel so we were not concerned with all the amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time during our trip to the beaches. Being that we had never stayed in this area before, we were not sure of where to stay. This hotel is located in Dewey, and is a close drive/walk to the beach. However, we ended up going to Rehobeth beach (only a few miles away) during the day, and experienced the nightlife of Dewey in the evening. […] This hotel is not on the beach, and the view from the balcony is a busy street. If I had to do it over again, I would have stayed at Sea Esta 1 to have the beach right in the back. As far as cleanliness, I would give it 5 stars. For such a great price per night, this was definitely a concern of mine, and thankfully, everything was fresh and new and clean. The King room was a decent size, perhaps a tad smaller than most, but we were never really in our room. I appreciated the coffee pot, mini-fridge, microwave, and especially the wifi (because I had school work to do while there). Overall, I would stay here again for the price and cleanliness. The other occupants were our age, 30-ish, and we had no problems with noise or kids. Office staff was moderately friendly when we checked in, extremely friendly when we checked out. "What you'd expect."
Not a bad motel the lady at the front desk was friendly. My friends and I just needed a place to lay our heads after the beach bars and this fit well. Not to far from dewey beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent Hotel for $"
Stayed for one night before a long weekend in Dewey beach. Place was fine for one night stay. For the location the rates are decent, you get what you pay for so you're not getting luxury here. Just your basic Motel which could be just fine if that's all you are looking for. Despite a recent renovation it still could use some new mattresses.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I've stayed at the Sea Esta IV before and the main reason is that it is cheap. It's not close enough to the beach for me to want to haul beach chairs and coolers there and back. They have done some repainting to more neutral colors and the bathrooms have been updated. Still, the pillows were lumpy and I couldn't get the curtains to close completely. […] These were minor things since I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for dog owners! Can walk to nice beach"
I enjoyed this hotel and expect to be back. 1) They let you bring dogs for a modest fee ($10 per night for out dog) 2) It is in a decent location: close enough to the beach to walk (although you do need to cross one busy road) 3) It is a close drive to the shops and foods of Rehobeth. Our room was fairly clean and the internet was faster than most. […] Only complaint would be that the tv was rather old and the remote did not work, but that wasn't really a big deal for me. Not the best hotel, but for the price of the room, it was great! Service at the desk was absolutely phenomenal. Easy walk to Dewey Beach and a short drive to Rehoboth Board Walk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The sea Esta 4 has updated their rooms with new carpet, tile and paint! For the price, I thought the accommodations were very good and the lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Blankets and pillows are a bit aged, so I recommend bringing your own, but other than that it was a great experience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect stay for youngsters"
The hotel was a little far from the bars where I usually hang out, but closer to the beach - about two blocks. Our first day we got a terrible staff, she was vey rude (can't remember the name). It seemed like she was having a bad day. On the second day though, Carmen (at the front desk), was great!! She helped us with a lot of patience, was funny and […] extremely helpful! One of the hotel attendants was extremelly rude and in a bad mood and made me feel like she was doing me a favor by letting me stay there.. Al most made me want to move to another Hotel. But thank God there was another one- Carmem-which was extremelly nice and made everything smooth.Genuine Expedia guest review
Cheap hotel, close to the beach. Not very pretty, scenic, or rich in amenities, staff was very nice. You get what you pay for.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This hotel is a facility for divorcees to stay"
While it was not horrible, it was not good. With hardly any guests, they stuck us on the 2nd floor. There was no reason for it. At night the hot water was barely warm so it was not possible to shower. Overall - I wouldn't stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't even think about it!"
09/09/14 SANDRA V Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
This was the worst place I ever stayed. The toilet was filthy, there was hair in the sink, the rug hadn't been vacuumed, there was a lot of dust on the refrigerator and it needed to be defrosted. The microwave did not work, there was no chain lock, no Do Not Disturb sign, no hangers, only one hand towel and a very stained lamp shade. There was no mattress cover and no pillow protectors. There was black mold inside the air conditioner. The shower was very clogged. The bedspreads had blood stains and cigarette burns.
"Convenient to Dewey and Rehoboth, and Allows dogs!"
09/02/14 tsm265 Arlington, Virginia
No frills, but a very convenient spot to stay for a quick beach trip. Just a few minutes' drive from the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and even closer to Dewey. And it's one of the few places that allow dogs if you want to bring your pup along to the beach. The wifi wasn't working when we were there, but that wasn't a problem since we were mostly at the beach.

The only good thing about this place is . . . . . . pet fee is only $10 per night per pup AND all the free ice you want. We arrived 8/24/14 to find the room looked exactly like in the photo - that exact same polyester cover on all the beds. There is NO WIFI. They give you a sign on code to connect but I could not get a connection. Housekeeping does a lot of walking and talking but didn't find our room until the third day we were there. All they did was make the bed (DID NOT CHANGE THE LINENS) and empty the garbage and refresh the towels. I had to go to the office for toilet paper on day two because they won't leave an extra roll around. There was not one hook in the room or bathroom and the towel bar fell off the wall. Good luck trying to dry out your towels or swim suit. Staff was a bit rude, not terribly, but certainly could use a course in hospitality.

The hotel was a very good value for the amount we paid to be so close to the beach in the middle of August. It is clear that this is not the most modern hotel but the room was clean and comfortable. What really pleased me is that I accidentally forgot something in the room and the staff was nice enough to be concerned and track the item down for me and mail it. The staff was very friendly and help during out stay.

My boyfriend and I are most of the time broke and always have to stay in budget hotels. Most of them are pretty awful and dark and dingy and being that I have a pretty nasty germ fear I am terribly uncomfortable and anxious in a lot of them. I was honestly expecting that with this hotel too, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how cleanly the entire place was! No weird marks on the bed or towels and not even a hint of sand leftover from whoever stayed in the room before us. We were able to check in right at 3pm on the dot and whoever the lady was that checked us in (wish I had her name) was extremely personable and up beat. The air conditioner didn't cool down the whole room, but if you slept on the bed next to it then it was plenty cool. The door was hard to unlock as well, but all in all I would go back to this motel every time.
"Don't do it."

I am not a person who needs a fancy hotel room to have a good time. I can sleep through pretty much anything, so a hotel on a busy street is never a problem for me. With that said, the Sea Esta Motel IV is a disappointment. For those of you who paid more, I am deeply sorry. Pros: 1. Location. 2. Pet friendly without associated smells, 3. Front desk staff was nice.4. We paid $100 a night and I'm okay with that because we were there in high season. Cons: 1. Bloody sheet on Mom's bed (it had been laundered and the stain had set, but....ewww...) 2. We had to ask for toilet paper after the room was cleaned. The second time we gave up and bought our own. 3.The one time the cleaning person acknowledged the service sign, my mother was in the room and he was rude to her. She told him never mind.

Honestly, I know I have high standards for hotels. That said, the room was overall clean. But the sheets and blankets were uncomfortable. The air conditioner was not effective or not working properly. WAY overpriced for what you get. Close to the beach, but still have to drive. Paid less to stay down the street at another 2 star that was way, way nicer (See Americinn, Lewes DE).
08/02/14 Emily A Williston Park, New York
Way overpriced! I called ahead and rented 4 rooms for 16 people, I was informed it was $209 per night. They failed to tell me that it was an extra $15 per person per room for every room that had more than 2 people. They also failed to inform me that they only give 1 parking pass (which are a sheet of paper I could've photo copied) per room. I had 15 friends coming from many different states, so it was quite an inconvenience. At check in I told her a total of 10 cars were coming and RANDY, the check in lady, never mentioned it would be a problem until it was night and more friends were arriving. Floors were dirty, AC was mediocre, shower made a screeching noise (I felt like I was in the movie Psycho when I showered). I wouldn't recommend staying here, nor would I recommend dealing with Randy. She's difficult and rude. I am 25 years old and she spoke to me similarly to how my 2nd grade teacher spoke to me when I got in trouble. I rather camp out in my car than spend another night at this gross motel.
"Yuk. A dump. Dingy, dirty, old and on a busy street"
07/31/14 SESHLS California
Overpriced at $100 a night. Carpet was dirty, sink had cracks, front door had indentation where looked like it was punched, paint scraped off, and Wireless internet did not work on second floor. Walking into the dirty, graffiti elevator and getting off to our floor with gum on the ground. I could not imagine spending $100 for this dump. Hotwire lead us to believe that we were getting a room half off, value at $200. When we entered the hotel people checked in and paid the rack rate slightly less than we did. We felt deceived for this was not as advertised. Who scouts out these places and what a creative imagination to describe it. And, location is on a very busy street. On the positive, air conditioner worked fine and bed was comfortable. Yuck.
07/19/14 meggood89 Media, Pennsylvania
Over all it was a cheap motel with no frills. At first it seemed pretty clean; however, there was mold all over the ac unit and dirt on the floors by the beds from the previous guests that was not cleaned up (including shriveled up blueberries). The motel allows pets which is great even though we left our dog at home. The people in the room behind us had decided to bring their dog and leave it unattended in the room. Unfortunately for us, we had to listen to this poor dog cry and bark from 2pm when we got there til we went out that night and again starting at 7 am! They should definitely implement a pet policy preventing people from leaving their pets alone or at least have a way to contact them if their pet is disturbing other guests. When I called the front desk to complain about the noise their answer was well if the dogs barking the owners are not around so hopefully they come back soon. Really!!??
