Hotel staff were quite friendly but the hotel is very dated. Even though the rooms are non-smoking, they smell of smoke. The first room's toilet did not flush due to a broken chain. TV stopped working that night so switched to a different room. The hotel is centrally located but certainly not one of the nicer areas of Bend. I would recommend this Motel to a friend looking for a cheap place to crash in Bend.. we slept here in between ski days at Bachelor and it was perfect for that.. the staff were very friendly.

Room smelled clean upon entry. There was a small stain under the sink where there had been a leak previously (not a big deal). Otherwise pretty nice considering the price range. We had a problem with our toilet which was fixed promptly by the onsite manager. Unfortunately the repair was not proper and we continued to have issues. We had to remove the […] tank lid so we could watch the stopper to ensure that the toilet did not run. We could have complained again but did not seem worth the trouble. Our room was cold and the room heating system not adequate so the manager brought us a small space heater. We just had to tell her our problem and she was accommodating. The motel is old but very clean and the beds are comfortable. We would stay there again.

We were happy to see a very clean room! The sink did not drain the first night but when we let housekeeping know they fixed it. Flat screen TV and living quarters to boot. We needed to be as close to downtown Bend as possible for our meager budget. Our walk to downtown was only 10 minutes.

Motel West was well worth the bargain price I paid for a one-night stay. It's within easy walking distance of the Deschutes River and the downtown shopping/dining area. The proprietor was friendly and everything was very clean. Although it's a no-frills hotel, the real water glasses and ceramic coffee mugs were a nice higher-end touch. This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. No frills, but very clean and in good repair. Also, since it is not on the main street, it's much quieter than other places nearby. Close to many fast food places, this is a good bet for a family or anyone who doens't need all the frills that typically bump up the price in a motel.

The first night we did not have internet, there were problems with the motel's router. The clerk on duty did not have any internet experience. When we again reported in the morning that we still could not obtain internet service, the problem was fixed in less than 30 minutes. Motel its obviously older but has been upgraded with flat screen TVs and comfortable pillows and linens. Tons of cable channels was a nice surprise. Actual coffee provided in room as well. I've stayed here twice, and it is always clean. You can tell its old, but they had a brand new flatscreen in the room I stayed the 2nd time, and their sheets are always interesting designs. This last time I felt like I was at a teenage girl's slumber party. Pretty funny.

This is a basic motel - you should not have very high expectations. Towels are small, no hairdryer (or iron) in the room, very basic amenities, but, it was clean and close to old town. If you prefer to spend your money elsewhere, then this is a good value. You get what you pay for.
