Dorsett Regency Hong Kong - Hong Kong

Although a little way from the centre of Hong Kong, there is a convenient direct bus from the airport, a hotel shuttle service to the centre and a tram almost to the door. Hotel is modern, clean and well-run and there are restaurants nearby. Good price and quieter than staying in Kowloon.

Despite being a new hotel it looked fairly shabby already and the standard of cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired particularly the shower room. It was not helped by a partially blocked sink that struggled to drain itself. On arrival we were told that the double room we booked and prepaid two months previously was not available and were […] offered an upgrade to a 'better' twin bedded room which we declined. After a little negotiation we got our original request. We also requested a later check out on our last day, but were only offered the opportunity to book an extra night at full price, a bit steep for a couple of hours! The location of the hotel is quite far from the centre but there is a free transfer bus to the Central station which operates hourly during the day. I wouldn't want to stay for too long in this hotel, it is a place to sleep rather than to relax and socialise. Needless to say I won't be going back! Read more

The room was small, but perfectly adequate and well provisioned. The floor supervisor Chris was extremely helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was extensive and well cooked.

The main plus for this Hotel is the high quality of their staff and the fact that the hotel is fairly new so in very good condition.The one criticism I would have is that the matresse was a bit hard for me, but obviously that is a personal preference. Kennedy Town is a good location as its about 35mins from Central Hongkong with an excelent Bus and […] Tram service (you must buy an Octoplus card).Its a fairly relaxed area with various shops and resturants try the Thalassic Thai in Hau Wo Street good food at a very reasonable price. Though this hotel is a little far from the central, we can use some kinds of public transportations, and hotel shuttle bus which runs every 1 hour. The room is wonderful, clean and fantastic. The staff are really helpful. I love this hotel. When I visit hongkong next time, I will book this hotel.

The hotel is still fairly new so the furniture, wall paints and interiors are in great condition. Even though the standard room is small by American standard, it is functional and actually quite pleasant. The bathroom is a nice retreat. I have no complaints about my stay and would recommend it to others. The shuttle bus does not always start on time […] but it's free. The other alternative is to take the tram (ding ding) or buses to Sheung Wan to catch the MTR. I am sure when KT gets the MTR in 2014, the hotel will be more popular with tourists. Read more

We had great stay, room was wonderful and comfy, staff was friedly and breakfast tasty. Before this we were in Hong Kong Mansion Hostel which was awful, so we wanted something much better and we got it, with a good deal on the internet. I hope that in the future Dorsett will pay more attention to environmental issues (like changing towels everyday, […] newspapers in plastic bags etc) over all we enjoyed. Read more

But there are big flaws, like a flooded shower, which I asked to fix every day. But understand it was not fixable, as the plumbing seems to have serious problems. The staff were pleasant and welcoming upon check-in, and extremely helpful in answering my questions. My single room was compact, reminding me of hotels in Tokyo, and beautifully designed. A good deal of thought went into the layout and planning of this hotel. It maximizes space and other resources without sacrificing quality (in my experience, a rare […] thing to find). Large windows provided gorgeous city views. Basic shower amenities were provided, along with cable television and free wifi. I made use of the laundry service, which was prompt and professional. The 3rd-floor hotel restaurant serves a great breakfast buffet with eggs, fruit, croissant, Chinese options, the full range. Dinners there are equally tasty, and the chef and waitstaff go out of their way to provide a welcoming experience. The hotel's location, as others have noted, is a bit far west on HK Island. However, the hourly hotel shuttle was extremely convenient, a 10-minute ride taking me to the nearest metro stop (Sheung Wan). The area around the hotel is indeed quiet for Hong Kong, but does not lack for shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, seaside views. I would gladly stay again. Read more

Overall very well maintenance hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel location is off main attraction areas and maybe a bit difficult for those who rely on public transit.

We got a promotional rate so staying at this hotel was very good value considering the cleaniless of the hotel. It was in Kennedy Town so a bit far from central Hong Kong but buses and trams are so close and frequent so its not a problem. Staff was very nice. hotel provided free shuttle to macau ferry terminals, airport express MTR station so very convenient for our final day in HK and driving us to airport express Hong Kong MTR station. Very good, comfortable hotel. Far from MTR, but shuttle bus runs every hour to Hong Kong MTR station. Clean, good management.

Mitt Hotellrum var mycket bekvämt även om det är litet. Internetanslutningnen är snabb vilket är ovanligt när internet ingår i priset. Modern stil som framgår av fotona. Sängen är hård dock inte av den allra hårdaste asiatiska stilen. Frukosten helt OK. Provade inte gymmet! Hotellet ligger i ett område med höga hyreshus för HongKongs medelklass. 帝盛在坚尼地城，目前不通地铁。香港机场下来坐A10机场巴士可直接到达。平时去铜锣湾或者尖沙咀都有直达的巴士，就是要花点时间，40-60分钟左右。如果打车去地铁香港站/中环站/港澳码头，大概是35块港币左右。虽然位置有点偏，房间也跟一般香港酒店一样小，但是房间设施很新很干净，还有免费wifi，我们住的26楼的房间，正好对着海，算是“海景房”了，性价比很高。下次来还考虑住这里。

helt nyt hotel rigtigt godt sted at bo, rigtig venlig personale; en saerlig Sam vil hjælpe dig med alt. det ligger blot ikke i centrum centrum, men 15 min med taxi og du er i centrum og ellers 30 med tram. der går ikke subway til hotellet men er det sidste stop med tram, også er man der. rigtigt fint hotel helt nyt - jeg boede der en uge paa 27 sal […] med udsigt til byen og vandet. ikke ryger værelse og rent rent. vil tag tilbage igen Read more
