Traveling w/ my wife... Strongly recommend. Friendly staff and Old Pumphouse room was fresh and nice. Just what we were looking for.

Very easy to find, although it calls itself a boutique hotel, the staff are still on a learning curve. It is more like staying in a very comfortable room in a pub. The rooms were very dark with little daylight entering and certainly no view except tiles! Dinner menu was promising but many of the promised relishes and garnishes were nowhere to be seen. […] Breakfast was slow and no fruit of any sort available, which is unusual. A very nice pub with rooms. Good atmosphere and handy for the M25. The oom was very well appointed to the highest standards and I could not fault this. However I was in the old pump house, which is a wooden building in the car park. It was fine until aroud 6.00 am when the traffic stated building up on the road outside. Bit disappointed - its a lovely hotel close to the gorgeous village of Westerham but made the mistake of booking one of their annex rooms. the annexe rooms were lovely inside but were a portakabin at the side of car park which I can imagine in the season would be noisy. Generally good value and good quality. Our room was the cottage, which is set away from the main building. The room was a bit small but furnished to to good standard. My partner and I had a wedding in Hever Castle so chose the Grasshopper Inn. Further out than other options to stay (15-20 minutes by taxi), but well worth the extra travel. Nice set up, but why did they not tell me about the dance class and the very loud music when all I waned to do was sleep – MONDAY NIGHT – I would ask about this as it went on after 10.30pm…………lots of character in the place, full of beams etc but a very modern room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, – did not have any evening food looked a bit expensive […] to me…..rest stopped at 9.30 and a bit a a farce over the breakfast it either starts at 7.00am or it does not, why the confusion with no one to cook/turn on the cookers – but staff excellent, especially the one who did my eggs on toast !!!– not sure if I will use again as overall not that impressed. L'auberge est vraiment trés jolie et le personnel trés compétent et charmant. Cependant refusez la chambre "the cottage" qui est un bungalow sur le parking!!!....le matelas a manifestement fait son temps et gagnerait a être changé.
