"Great location, but cramped for family of 4."
Great location. Close to most major sites, however plan on doing a lot of walking! Our room (an executive apt) had a mini fridge, stove top, pots & pans, etc and a Bialetti espresso maker. Our kids each had a single bed in the living room, while we had a queen bed in the separate bedroom. We also had a bedroom in the loft upstairs, but we never used […] it, as unless you are very tiny, it is hard to access. There was not enough space to put away clothes, so we mostly had to live out of our suitcases. The staff were okay (night staff particularly kind) and arranged our taxi home for us. There are lots of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. Don't accept the flowers on the Spanish Steps! Beware of scammers trying to guilt you into paying them after "giving you" roses! "Location! Location! Location!"
We stayed six nights---our home away from home. We were in the middle of everything, but the apt. was so quiet we nearly slept till noon in the mornings! The staff couldn't be more friendly. Compared to a hotel room, this was heaven--it gave us and our 12-year-old plenty of walking around space. The cafe on the corner was very kid-friendly and handy, too. […] We loved the common terrace, the film star-themed rooms, the maid service, the comfort. We would recommend Dolce Vita Residence to anyone for a well-priced, wonderfully located Rome getaway. We were half a block from Vittoria Emmanuel Monument, and a few blocks from Trevi Fountain, the Forum, Capitoline Hill, the Colosseum, and the Spanish Steps. Can it get any better??? Nice hotel. It was a good surprise: Near to Piazza Venezia and you can walk to the main sightseeing in Rome. I strongly recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Large Rooms, the best location in Rome"
This is the second time we stayed @Dolce Vita Residence. Reason -- large rooms (in fact full apartments), the best possible location, reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff. Will stay there again on the next trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quirky hotel, perfectly located, spacious rooms."
less than lux, but so was the price. Too many stairs for me, but I managed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, in the heart of Rome."
Stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting Rome. The hotel's proximity to the major historical tourist attractions of the city was a great advantage.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value and location! Super staff."
This hotel is close to many major attractions. We walked to the Colloseum, Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and San Clemente. It is just around the corner from the Piazza Venezia, which has several bars and restaurants where you can sit out and people watch. The room was very clean and the staff were exceptional. My only reservation about this hotel […] is that not all the rooms are easily accessible for people with disabilities. After exiting the elevator we had to walk up 3 steps, then down 2 and up 2 more to get to the door of our apartment. Once inside there were a couple more steps to go up. If you have any mobility difficulties, be sure to make your needs known when making a reservation. When I reserved this on Expedia I was expecting a hotel room. What we got was a 2 room suite! The second room had a kitchenette, table, sleeper sofa and a desk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not too shabby"
It was a bit confusing when we first arrived as the hotel is off a little side street and the taxi dropped us by the major road. But once we figured it all out, it was all good. Of course the area is a bit noisy but I think it would be like that anywhere you are in walking distance to so many of the tourist type landmarks. The staff was all very nice […] and the room was much larger than expected. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good location"
The stay me and my wife had here was very good. This was our first destination for our honeymoon and set the bar very high. We stayed in a studio-style apartment and it was just the right size for us. There was a full kitchen stocked with utensils, cups, plates, etc. but we did not use that at all. There was a small washer that we did utilize and was […] very convenient. The bedroom was large and had plenty of space for us and our belongings. There was a good sense of security and we were able to leave our belongings there. The biggest plus to this place is the location. It is located close to....everything. Just a 7 minute walk to the historical building, which we used as a point of reference for our daily journeys. Just down the road from the Colloseum, the Forum, Circus Maximus, I mean its close to everything. Excellent service and location make this a must stay for anyone. The only down side I will say is that the bed was not very comfortable and it was loud with the restaurant that was just outside our window. Thank you for the stay! "Great hotel for a family"
Hotel location is amazing, 5 min walk to The Forum, Coliseum and within 20 mins to the most important tourist sites. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We are a family of 5 and the room although comfortable was a little tight (the eating table was right next to the sofa-bed were our kids slept and the eating area barely fit us). Still the kitchen […] had everything that one would need to prepare simple meals (no microwave) and it is very comfortable to be able to eat in, particularly if traveling with small kids. overall we had a great experience, would go back to Dolce Vita, and totally recommend it to others. For the price, rooms are large. It's really a small apartment, not a traditional hotel room. You should know the front desk is not staffed from 10 pm until about 5 a.m. That's the only negative. But the location is FABULOUS, within walking distance of virtually everything you'd want to visit in Rome. We would definitely stay here again if returning […] to Rome. In fact, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the Thick of it"
I'd put the DVR in the funky cool little hotel category. Very large, well decorated and clean rooms, all different and interesting. Some of the amenities and room features aren't going to stack up to a large luxury hotel but that is more than adequately reflected in the price. The staff is absolutely first rate and I have no doubt they will do whatever […] they can to make your stay as enjoyable as they possibly can. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cool hotel close to Fontana di Trevi"
The location is awesome, close to the Fontana de Trevi and Foro di Traiano. Did all the sightseeing walking from the hotel, the only downside was the cable TV that was not working in the days I stayed at the hotel. We did not order breakfast, but there was a market two blocks from the hotel and we bought all we needed there.Genuine Expedia guest review
very trendy hotel. Was caught off guard by an extra charge that needed to be paid in cash, a city tax of 2 Eur per person per night, not included by Expedia.com. Bed was firm, but a usual european style. Air conditioning was a little on the fritz, but was comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Friendly staff and in the perfect location to walk and and see many of the sites that Rome has to offer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A great updated smaller place to stay, right in the heart of Rome. Locked front door for security. Definitely a nice change from a large hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Would never stay any place else in Rome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location of this hotel is awesome- it's in the heart of Rome. Don't worry about the fact that it is off a small alley just off the main road. We walked to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Emmanuel Monument. The Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, and Villa Borghese are just a short bus ride away. The staff was very friendly […] and helpful. We had a two-story apartment (4th & 5th floor) which worked great for our family since we have older children. We spent some time in the evenings on our little balcony enjoying a glass of wine and the cooler evening air. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a market. The beds are firm, but we got used to them after the first couple of days. Overall, a really nice little hotel- we would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful location, large and comfortable for a family of 4. Washing machine in apt. unit was very helpful and saved us lots of cash. Better than a hotel with all the conveniences of one. Best of all, walking distance to most attractions, even in the summer heat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and lots of space"
Long walk from train station but not too bad especially if you have light luggage. We had a ton of space and the washing machine, espresso vending machine and location to Trevi Fountain, major tourist sites and nightlife a major plus. Very happy!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for anyone!"
My husband and two teenage boys stayed for a week in this hotel. This hotel was in a great center location. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. They were very helpful booking train reservations and taxis for us. The rooms were small but comfortable and modern. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel for our family of five. The room was much larger than expected and the air conditioning worked great. Although not on a main street the location was fabulous. "Great location and friendly staff."
We stayed at the Dolce Vita Residence on a recent 4 day trip to Rome. The hotel is perfectly located in old Rome and within walking distance of everything you would want to see while visiting this magnificent city. The staff were wonderful and so helpful. They even loaned us a electrical converter so we could charge our electronics and offered us umbrellas […] to take for the day when it was raining. I would without question stay at this property next time we visit Rome. It was absolutely wonderful from every aspect. Thanks! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nicely appointed suite. Great location in terms of location within Rome but the road was a very narrow and dark alley that some might find concerning. No hotel services if you get there after 9pm.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Room, Great Location, Reasonable Price"
Great hotel in a key part of the city; stayed in the "Audrey Hepburn" room. It is adjacent to the Piazza Venezia and Vittoria Emanuele II monument. It is hidden -- as many of them are -- down a small street off of a main throughway. Very easy to walk to many popular tourist sites such as the Coloseum, Ruins, Spanish Steps, etc. Also, it is close to […] shops and a number of excellent restaurants. The hotel is clean, very modern, and very comfortable. It is really well-described as a "Residence", as this is like having a small apartment in a key location in Rome. There is no hotel restaurant, but they do offer breakfast service to your room for a fee. You are better off going to one of the many cafe's in the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were also genuinely helpful in trying to help tourists avoid the "tourist traps" which are numerous in Rome. If you are looking for a hotel with a great view out of your window, this is not the place to go. If you want a hotel with the amenities you find in a Westin, etc., this is not the place to go. However, step outside of the hotel, and you are in a great spot. That's what counts if you plan on spending your time exploring Rome. The price was very reasonable for the location and the size (one bedroom with separate sitting room, kitchenette, full bath) compared to others I could locate in the same area. Be sure to try Ristorante Abruzzi and Peroni which are very close by. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent stay for a family"
We - me, my wife and our children (5, 10, and 15 y.o.) stayed at Dolce Vita Residence in March 2012 for 6 days. The hotel is very convenient for families. There were 3 rooms and kitchen in our appartment. The kitten was equipped with gas cooker, electric bakeoven, kettle, refrigerator, and even washing-machine. However, there was no microwave oven. Supermarket […] is quite close (~7 min walk), you can buy everything and cook, it saves a lot of money (restaurants in central Rome are quite expensive). Staff is very courteous and helpful. "Great Stay In Room"
First lets start with location...La Dolce Vita is within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions with the exception of the Vatican. A city bus which stops on the corner, will get you to the Vatican in less than 10 minutes.( If walking is your thing it can be done in about 20 minutes ). We stayed in the Audrey Hepburn room, which consists […] of a sitting area/kitchenette, a bathroom and a bedroom. The couch in the sitting area pulled out to a bed which my 12 and 15 year old had no trouble sharing. There is a TV for the kids. MTV is mostly in english everything else is in Italian. There is no dining area in the hotel. When we checked in I had to show our reservation which I had printed from expedia which showed that our breakfast was included. Each day they sent breakfast to our room from the cafe on the corner. There is no laundry in the hotel, however if you call one of the girls at the front desk they will pick up your laundry and have it returned to your room. The girls who work at the front desk are fantastic. They can help you with just about anything. I would especially recommend you ask there opinion concerning restaurants. Each place they sent us to was better then the last. Try Abruzzi, which is just around the corner. I would highly recommend La Dolce Vita. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

First trip to rome with my wife and 2 yr old daughter. This hotel was perfect for us, the location meant that we really could walk everywhere... Great as we did not have to use public transport with the stroller, […] and all walks in rome are scenic. The apartment was company but ideal. Very modern, the only thing missing was a clothes iron. "A Fantastic Hotel in Central Location."
We stayed at the DVR for my husband's 50th birthday. The location was superb. We were a short stroll from the Colisseum and the Trevi fountains and all the gorgeous bars and restaurants. We stayed in the Rita Hayworth studio apartment which was gorgeous. We had a tiny but cute balcony where we had our Prosecco in the evening. The staff were extremely […] helpful and smiley and nothing was a problem. They informed us that although breakfast wasn't included in our booking, they would bring us some coffee in the morning. In the event they brought us some sandwiches and toast too! The only negative was that the air-conditioning was pretty hopeless. The room got very hot in the night but we had to close the windows to keep the noise out. But that was a tiny thing compared with the overall experience which was fabulous. We would definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Little Gem in Central Rome"
Location is fantastic, your are right in the centre of the main tourist area to get an early headstart in those tourist queues. Bedroom comfort left something to be desired if you need a good nights sleep the mattresses were firm especially on the sofa bed arrangement. Early morning disturbance from the refuse collection can disrupt your sleep as other […] reviewers have stated. We just used earpugs. Apartment needed a bit of TLC, with the odd bulb missing and the ice compartment needed a good defrost. Shower area was a little neglected and could have used a light also. "What a find in the Centre of Rome - Loved it!"
Loved the space of haviing a kitchenette, fridge, sofa etc. although the dining table had seen better days. Only Sky News in English on TV which was a shame. Hotel staff were lovely, always ready for a chat about our day. Duvet/Bedspread needs a cover.
