A great base for a ski week. It's the second stop on the bus route for the ski resorts which means that there is no hanging about on the way out or way back from the mountain. A super bar that is great for an apres ski drink and bar snack. There are a few helpful touches particularly if you are renting skis as they get delivered and picked up for return.

We always try to stay at the Red Carpet when we come to Banff skiing. The hotel is excellently priced and the complimentary breakfast is very welcomed. The rooms are clean and well presented and I believe that they have done a series of upgrades. I also like the placement of the hotel as it is not in the main core of downtown Banff so it is much quieter while still allowing an easy 5 min walk into the centre for food and shopping etc.

Excellent hotel close to all Banff amenities, the staff could not have been more helpful. The only way it could be improved would be to expand the breakfast menu to include a hot option, we had scrambled egg on the first day, but never saw it again. However, it is advertised as a Continental breakfast, and that was what we got.

Comfortable and clean, if a little drab! Good location, convenient to sights and Banff centre. Car parking excellent.

Situated in Canmore, Alpine Vacations at Grande Rockies offers easy access to Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre and winter activities like downhill skiing and cross-country skiing. Also nearby are Canmore Golf and Curling Club and Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.
Resort Features.
After a day on the slopes, indulge in a treatment at the full-service spa or soothe your muscles in the spa tub. When the sun goes down, sip après-ski drinks in the resort's bar.
Guests can enjoy a meal at the onsite restaurant. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Additional amenities at this 3.5-star resort include a health club, an indoor pool, and a children's pool. Complimentary self parking is available onsite for guests.

"Good for families"
The suite is nice and comfortable. Although we had a parking lot view there was no noise. We would ask for a mountain view on the other side next time. Wendy
It was a great place to stay and the staff was professional and friendly. The lock off suite that we had was decorated lovely, but the dark wood floors show EVERYTHING (being winter with wet boots). We wanted to take the mattresses and pillows home, as they were extremely comfortable! The grandchildren and adults very much enjoyed the in/outside hot […] tub, pool and waterslide after a long day of skiing. I would definitely go again. Only draw back, it would be great if they supplied a wet mop and more dishwasher soap for large families staying more than one night. . . . not much of a complaint! :-) Read more

"The Grande Rockies - via Sunset in Canmore - don't"
When you book this room you are booking through a second party - Sunset. So you are Not entitled to housekeeping services - it is an extra cost, cot - big extra cost also,per night. Also the dishwasher was out of order and although there was promise of a maid to do dishes - this did not happen. These are not executive suites, simply overpriced 2 bedroom […] suites. If you want the Grande Rockies - be sure to ask what you are getting and what you will be charged for. Oh, and housekeeping was not done till 6pm. If you want a really nice suite there are better places to be found in the lovely Town of Canmore. Read more
