Wonderful stay at the Mercure Napoli Angioino Centro. Very good location (minutes walk from the opera house, royal palace, etc.) Superb staff -- very nice quiet bar off of the lobby: perfect for an evening drink. Room was good sized, clean, with excellent Wi-Fi.

When I lived in Naples for several years a while back I always recommended this hotel to visitors because of its great location, value, comfort, and security. A recent stay at the hotel over New Year's Eve confirmed to me that the Majestic is still my favorite hotel in the city. Located in the best shopping area of the city, it is now close to some cool cafe, restaurants, and nightspots that have sprung up over the past few years as well. Best thing is that You can walk almost everywhere from here, from the seafront pedestrian walkway and park to the main shopping streets of Via dei Mille, Via Toledo, and Piazza dei Martiri.

Maxim, the owner, is a fantastic host. The place is hard to find and the outside is grim but once inside it is spectacular. The rooms are huge. The breakfast room/ lounge is elegant, the breakfast is more than adequate. It is a quick walk to the Archaelogical Museo and the Duomo. It is deep within a neighborhood so you get a feel for the real Naples not the touristy standard movie shot of the harbor. Maxim escorted me to a restaurant and then came back and got me (I am an older woman traveling solo) as he didn't want me to get lost in the dark. Be aware the B & B is up 58 stone steps (but Maxim will help carry your bags). I missed the place as soon as I left.

We enjoyed our stay at the Piazza Bellini but finding it was a bit confusing. The Hotel was much as others have described it. Rooms were very clean, with hardwood floors, modern shower, and comfortable beds. Staff were pleasant, professional, and spoke good English. Courtyard would have been welcoming had it not rained the entire time we were there.The breakfast was superb. Having large mugs if strong coffee is a rare treat just about anywhere in Europe. The neighborhood may seem iffy, especially at first, but there are a few nice places on the piazza. Walking to via Toledo and the furniculars is a snap. We'll gladly stay here again if we're ever nack in Napoli.
