"Good, but flawed."
Lovely setting, good staff. The pool is lovely but lacks shade. The pool bar needs a proper covered area for when it rains. Our suite was very good, but the roof sloped steeply. That meant ducking to avoid banged heads. Great shower. Lack of cupboard space, hangers and hooks. Restaurant food was very good but the room has no charm. Very good staff there though. Breakfast was cake-orientated!

"Very Unique and Romantic Getaway"
Decided to stay here as a rest stop between the south of France and Barcelona airport so sadly didn't get to spend much time at the hotel. Would certainly come back again in the future and stay a few days. Pool was lovely, hotel restaurant delicious, didn't get to indulge in but there was a spa with a variety of treatments. The town itself is a bad tourist one but at the monastery turned boutique hotel you never need to go near it. But if you do have some time and are a little adventurous there was an amazing looking water slide park nearby!

"Mala relación calidad-precio"
El Spa es decepcionante. El restaurante del hotel muy caro en relación a la calidad. Las cinco estrellas que muestran en la página web no se ven reflejadas en los servicios ni las instalaciones que presta el hotel.

"Lovely but a few flaws"
08/14/15 IOWman Switzerland
The setting of the hotel and building are lovely. The staff are friendly and seem dedicated to ensuring that all is well. Our room - top floor suite - was nicely done and had lovely views. The sitting room are was comfortable, but the TV is strictly Spanish. The roof slopes, so walking about is not easy in all parts. Good aircon in bedroom and sitting/bath room. Very quiet. A nice atmosphere. Breakfast was quite "samey" but nice enough. Lots of cake! We used the dining room (same as for breakfast) on three nights. The food was good but the room lacks style. Service was bit stretched - lack of staff. Flaws: not enough cupboard space in the bedroom; not enough towel hooks in the bathroom; no soap dish in the shower; sinks that gush over if turned on too hard. Outside: no covers bar so, if it rains (and it rained on us) there's nowhere to go. Amazing really as there's plenty of space. It's just that no one has thought about what guests do when it rains. There's no indoor bar or lounge either so we were forced to have drinks in our room. Not so bad, but not so great either. The pool is nice. Not huge, but nice water and it's possible to swim 8-12 strokes each length. There is not enough shade. Too few umbrellas. A good range of chairs and beds though. The outside bar staff are nice, but they do not come seeking orders - that's also so up up on the terrace area too - I had to hunt down someone to get drinks. Overall, this is a nice place to stay, but it's not 5 star. It could be, quite easily; but the owners need to attend to the details. Lloret de Mar is not a great place. We went down for dinner but could not find anywhere worth stopping. We did have a drink and some nice tapas on the sea front, but we did not stay long and would not go back. Tosse de Mar, up the road about 20 mins was nicer but still not great. Very touristy and packed. Nasty, crowded beach. We did find a good tapas bar - already reviewed. The restaurant next door to Sant Pere del Bosc is rather good. I'll review that separately.

"A great choice for those looking for relaxation"
07/14/15 cmdesha1974 Savannah, Georgia
My family and I stayed at this amazing hotel for a few days and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was! Edward and his staff are excellent and they went above and beyond their call to make us happy. If you are looking for something away from the partying and loud noises of Lloret then this is the place you want to stay. It is up in the mountain only a short drive from the beach but so worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the views are amazing! This is truly a special place.

"A most memorable experience for those with a taste off the beaten path."

Llloret de Mar is a very busy and somewhat cheapened tourist village on the sea about 2 hours north of Barcelona. That was the limit we wanted to drive for r&r as we had a flight back to the USA out of Barcelona, after spending 6 days there. Though Sant Pere Del Bosc Hotel is listed along with all the other's of Lloret it is worlds away in class and location. Above it all, and yes, through the woods on a dirt road, is a beautifully converted monastery offering peace, quiet and arguably the finest cuisine found in that region. We stayed in the Maria Callas suite that had wonderful sunlight, views and a generous private balcony. Take your time choosing your room as the tendency is to show you to the room "they" may want you in versus that which you would "prefer". This Hotel is expensive so get what you're paying for... There are but 19 rooms total so you will feel quite privileged and private. The pool and the grounds are beautiful and we felt the staff was there to accommodate. My strongest suggestion is to dine on the premises. Either in the Hotel or the exceptional restaurant next door. I'd rather not share too much because dining is such a personal and romantic journey. Just don't be in a hurry...enjoy! In sum, we love hotels and Inns that have character, a story to tell, a staff that genuinely and easily offers hospitality, a place that will lodge space in your memories. If your taste run in that direction...go.

"Too expensive for the service offered"
07/05/15 Enric A
Great location, beautiful building and really nice views. The rooms are ok and the swimming pool is very nice and relaxed. We get the impression that there are not enough staff members in the hotel that make the service poor, also there is not enough information. We asked for the room service menu, and they haven't the information printed available. For the price you pay you expect much better service. We also went to the restaurant and the food and the service there was very good.

"No way a 5 Star Hotel!"
06/18/15 InMy0pinion
Firstly, this hotel is not 5 star at all! Its 3 star at best as it doesnt offer you the 5 star amenities you would expect. Pros: The location is amazing. The hotel is located at the top of thr mountain with views of the nearby towan, mountains and the ocean in the distance. Staff are very friendly and very accomodating. They have the best intentions under the circumstances. It seems like the owners/management have a reduced staff present to save money. Further explanation below! Chefs created a vegetarian menu for us as we were staying for 6 nights and the original menu has no veg dishes. Cons: Not enough staff! The first day we arrived we had lunch which was very nice. When we went to the hotel restaurant for dinner at 6pm as it was our 2 year old daughters dinner time we were told the restaurant is closed! We then said fine, can we order room service and again we were told no as there was no chef! The chef starts around 7pm so we would have to wait. We were then told that we couldnt order at 7pm because the waitress starts at 8pm so no one could bring the food to us! We were not happy . We went to the the Spa indoor swimming pool daily as it was shallow enough for our daughter. The pool area and Spa area was only cleaned once while we were there for the 6 nights. There were dead flies on the tiles surrounding the pool that were there until we left! The shower and toilets were not cleaned daily. There was a build up of hair in the shower and the toilets were dirty. The laundry basket was overfilled with all the used towels! There was no one manning the spa. The website says it has a bar. In the evening I went to the restaurant to order a drink. I asked where the bar was. The waitress took me to a sideboard in the corner of the restaurant and started taking bottles of drinks out for me to choose! Where was the barman in this 5 star establishment? They have a buffet breakfast. Again, this was limited like everthing else at the hotel. Not much to offer. The worse part was the chef only works for an hour at the start of the breakfast. Therefore if you order eggs or anything that needs cooking after he leaves the only waitress then has to go in the kitchen to make it for you?! 5 star service? We had no idea there was a manager at the hotel. The day before we were leaving i asked the receptionist if there was a manager and she explained there was and we had seen him everyday. He never introduced him self, he just took our bags to our room when we arrived, i thought he was a bell boy! This may have been a 5 star but not anymore. The lack of staff due to decisions made by the owners/management cause many issues. We paid a lot of money for our room but a 5 star experience wasnt delivered. We booked a large suite with a terrace which was a good size. The room had no stereo system, no ironing board, tv not working well, but did have a minibar with water and fizzy drinks only. No alcohol or snacks that you would expect from a 5 star. If the hotel was described as a 3 star we wouldnt expect so much, but if a hotel charges 5 star prices they should provide the amenities and service. The staff did their best to accomodate us. We had cleaners as well as the chef himself bringing our food to our rooom due to the lack of staff! We did feel sorry for them and explained how grateful we were for their hard work. Without the great staff this hotel would surely not survive!

"Amazing experience in boutique Hotel"
05/03/15 Michael N Marbella, Spain
Beauty full place with amazing view. The hotel is placed just on the top of the hill. To get there you need to drive view km on land road. Very quite place, only view rooms. All of the rooms very good equipped with individual designed furniture. Very friendly staff always ready to help you (flexible with opening hours of Spa etc). Good outside swimming pool while the inside one is quite small but equipped with some massage etc. Nice home made food. For breakfast nice selection of cakes.

Been there for a work event. The place in itself is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful views. The food is exceptional, the mix of tapas and fine cuisine, simple organic ingredient. Just perfect! The owner was very pleasant and gave us a great tour of the place with details on its history. Had a great time, thank you.

"A former Monastery that you do not need to rely on prayer for quality"
11/23/14 caravanmysteryvisits united kingdom
This 19 suite hotel including 1 adapted room is set in the out skirts to Lloret de Mar. Lloret is a touristic town with lots of typical British bars a bit like Southend on Sea or Margate was 15 to 20 years ago, once very popular but recently forgotten, however the area is undergoing major rejuvenation so don't write it off too quick. Knowing the area I thought I would visit hotel Sant Pere Del Bosc and stay for a night or 2 before heading back to Barcelona. The location doesn't show in Gps so I put road name of golf course and continued up the road to the hotel. The road is long and uneven and covered in sand and on way up go past some residential areas - not best looking and then many of the hotel signs have graffiti on them - I thought what have I booked is it going to be in one peace ? After a slow 10 minute drive I arrived with a stunning building in front surrounded by a gated fence and gardens, I was pleased to find this was the hotel. The car park is not marked and is to the side of a statue, in front is a bar and restaurant and this is where many people try to checking however the check in is a further across - a sign pointing would have been good. In reception was a young man who checked me in and showed to room - accessible of course - they have a large room with a double bed - slightly high for a standard wheelchair transfer, bathroom sliding doors, toilet with rails, sinks are bowls on top of service and too high for wheelchair user approx 4ft to top Shower is walk in without stall with a fixed head shower and an attached small portable - no instructions. The wardrobe has no lower rail to allow clothes to be hung. My opinion great for someone using crutches or frame however if you need to stay in wheelchair you will struggle. Accessible bathroom by restaurant. pool and Spa accessible by stairs. Saying this the staff and surroundings are excellent and if you can cope with adaptions then you should enjoy

"A special Oasis in Girona"
10/10/14 Tony3142 Melbourne, Australia
This place has to be seen to be believed. What the owner Eva has done in transforming this old monastery into a a boutique hotel and relaxation oasis is simply gob-smacking. The interplay between the old and the new is amazing, each room is a creation in its own right and has a credible theme that works. We stayed in the silver room with great views of the pool, grounds and the sea. It took us a while to visit, and we glad we came. Will definitely visit again.

"Wonderful! Location, View, Food, Facility, Room and Service"

We ended a 12 day trip to Spain with two nights at Sant Pere del Bosc Hotel & Spa and wow- I couldn't dream of a better ending. The historic monastery has been renovated with impeccable attention to detail and design. The dirt road leading up to the monastery goes through a beautiful nature area that trails for hiking, mountain biking, dirt bike riding, horseback riding, etc. From the top, the vista includes forested area and the Mediterranean Sea in the near distance. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and varied. Our room, #1 Rosalia de Castro, was a very comfortable and spacious junior suite. Beautifully appointed with three huge windows with views on two sides. We enjoyed coming back at night after dinner and sitting outside in the quiet of the night under the starry sky. The salt water pool is situated beautifully into the surrounding with plentiful plush chaise lounges and an adjacent indoor spa water circuit. We ate two breakfasts at the restaurant L’India in the outdoor dining room and took a cooking class out there as well. The chef, Josep, plans the daily menu according to what is freshly available. Josep taught our cooking class beginning with a trip to procure the fish and vegetables -- the ingredients for a scrumptuous "suquet". We sauteed, chopped, cut, pulverized, and grated, learning techniques and discussing intricate methods of the region. We learned a lot and had tons of fun in a beautiful setting. And… the meal we cooked was incredible -- easily the best meal I had in Spain -- and we ate more than our fair share of great meals in Spain. While there we also visited the beautiful beaches and parks and ventured to the alluring town of Girona just 35 minutes away by car. I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful hotel, restaurant and spa! Thanks to Active Gourmet Holidays (http://www.activegourmetholidays.com/home) for putting this on our itinerary!
