Google took me up the wrong road but even so it was well worth the effort. Outstanding staff, magnificent evening meals and so relaxing. We will no doubt return. Highly recommended.

"Good, but flawed."
Lovely setting, good staff. The pool is lovely but lacks shade. The pool bar needs a proper covered area for when it rains. Our suite was very good, but the roof sloped steeply. That meant ducking to avoid banged heads. Great shower. Lack of cupboard space, hangers and hooks. Restaurant food was very good but the room has no charm. Very good staff there though. Breakfast was cake-orientated!

"Very Unique and Romantic Getaway"
Decided to stay here as a rest stop between the south of France and Barcelona airport so sadly didn't get to spend much time at the hotel. Would certainly come back again in the future and stay a few days. Pool was lovely, hotel restaurant delicious, didn't get to indulge in but there was a spa with a variety of treatments. The town itself is a bad tourist one but at the monastery turned boutique hotel you never need to go near it. But if you do have some time and are a little adventurous there was an amazing looking water slide park nearby!

"A regretful event ruined it all."
01/15/16 Wanderlustfan Northamptonshire
I have taken my time to really think about this review, which is why I have waited to post it.... I arranged to stay here for one night as we wanted to eat at the excellent restaurant next door (not affiliated with the hotel). It was for our 10th wedding anniversary. The drive up to the hotel is bumpy, but that adds to the charm to see the beautiful old building coming into view through the pine Forrest. The check in was great. The receptionist took passports scanned them and returned them to us and showed us to our well appointed room, providing information about the hotel as we went. We popped on the robes provided and headed down to the pool. This area was not in the best of conditions. The plastic grass around the pool wasn't aesthetically pleasing and the grounds around the pool were not particularly well kept, weeds and grass. The spa, area. Again, poor. Not well kept. We booked a massage, the treatment room was up in the main hotel. It was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sleep wise the bed was comfortable. The hotel quiet and thus getting an undisturbed sleep. The bath and shower faculties great. Breakfast. We did not see member of staff (heard talking from the kitchen). Help yourself to cheeses, meats, bread, pastries tea and coffee. No warm option available. We checked the room as we always do and left. My husband had left his toothbrush in the toilet which the receptionist ran out and returned. We then returned to our hotel that we were staying in for the remainder of trip. Now, here's why I have had to wait to calm down. Please draw your own conclusions, and think carefully before booking here. After our stay at Sant Pere del Bosc we unpacked our hand luggage back at our main hotel and then we're out sightseeing the next day early. When we returned my husband couldn't find our PASSPORTS. After extensive searching we knew that the last place that we had them was at Sant Pere del Bosc. Our passports had nice leather wallet covers on them. We rang the hotel and asked them to check if they had them (we had checked the room before we left). We didn't use the safe as we usually would, as we were there for one night. So no one except us should have accessed the room. And there was no other possible way in but the door. The hotel stated that they would look and for us to call back, which we did and were told that they hadn't been found. We had to then make an emergency trip to Barcelona to the British Embassy for emergency travel documents to enable us to travel home costing us £95 each and then £72.50 each to replace. After we arrived back to the UK (10days) after we had the passport drama, the Hotel Sant Pete deal Bosc emailed me, informing me that they had miraculously found our passports. They had been found in the car park I quote "covered in leaves". Now, here's the thing. It had been raining we carried our cases out to the car and placed them in the boot. We got out a few times. There was one tree that was not loosing it's leaves significantly. There were people coming and going in the car park. There is no way that passports were dropped. Interestingly the hotel after some debate returned our now defunct passports free of charge (they wanted to charge us for return). And surprise surprise!....the passports and covers were in pristine condition!. Keep in mind it had been raining and they had supposedly been outside under leaves for 10 days. I can not prove anything. However, I have a strong suspicion that a dishonest member of staff entered our room when we were not present, perhaps thought that they were wallets rather than passports and took them. Then got scared and planted them. For what reason, we shall never know. Very sad. We have travelled the world, poor disadvantaged country's and have been in places where we could have easily been robbed etc. But it hasn't happened. Yet in a supposed 5 star..... I would suggest you think very carefully before staying here. An expensive lesson to learn.

"Isolated in the forest and lots of good points"
10/29/15 Roger W Geneva, Switzerland
The first surprise is that the hotel is at the end of 5Kms of dirt road in the middle of a lovely pine forest. When we were there the road was dusty but I guess when it's wet you need to clean the car often ! The buildings are imposing the the view is great down to the sea. Staff are very friendly and we had a very spacious family room with lovely views. The bathroom and all room facilities were new. There is an outdoor pool, too cold when we were there but the spa is fine, an L shaped pool with multiple jacuzzi functions. Water is hot and there is also a steam room ( very hot ! ). Spa is ok for bigger children. Breakfast takes place in the conservatory at the back of the hotel, it was even heated when we were there and a good choice although nothing hot. The orange juice however is to die for ! The hotel serves dinner on request although we didn't test it, the breakfast area where the dining area is situated is maybe not so cosy in the evening. Unfortunately when we were there the wifi wasn't working due to a technical problem. We preferred to use the hotel as a central spot to visit Barcelona ( 80Kms ), Cadaques and Gerona ( close by and well worth a look ).

"The great escape"
09/29/15 ErikNL2011 Holland
Tell people you're going to Lloret de Mar and people might frown. This place however is a contemporary great escape from tourist traps and dull hotels. Lovely design in a nature reserve setting. At the end of the road (dirt road for the last couple of KM) you will find a haven of tranquility and service. There is no point describing the room as all rooms are different. TV has various international channels (BBC world, Deutches Fernsehen, Italia, etc) the beds have good mattrasses, but if you are tall they might be too short for you. Rituals amenities in the bathroom and bathrobes, slippers and great towels make for an enjoyable stay. The hotel restaurant serves a surprisingly varied breakfast and tasteful dinner. And very important, is run by a very helpful and kind lady. The spa is not big, but nicely designed and the masseuses take very good care of you. Location: excellent Service: with a smile Will come again: we hope so.

"'A wonderful experience in a unique hotel and setting'"
09/21/15 Alan A Santa Barbara, California
We spent 2 nights in a top-floor, well proportioned suite which had panoramic views of the area. Each room is different apparently and indeed the attention to detail is obvious throughout the establishment, even down to the unique design of the 'chandelier'. The service we experienced was truly first class with nothing too much trouble for the staff. We relaxed by the large outside pool and whilst there is no indoor option, we enjoyed the multi-sectioned spa, with its 'crazy' jet streams, as well as the steam room. We had two dinners at the hotel. The first was truly gourmet, a taster menu with multiple surprises and flavours; the second more traditional but also excellent. Breakfasts were 'help yourself', with a wide choice. We did not leave the hotel during our short stay - there was no need.

"Lovely but a few flaws"
08/14/15 IOWman Switzerland
The setting of the hotel and building are lovely. The staff are friendly and seem dedicated to ensuring that all is well. Our room - top floor suite - was nicely done and had lovely views. The sitting room are was comfortable, but the TV is strictly Spanish. The roof slopes, so walking about is not easy in all parts. Good aircon in bedroom and sitting/bath room. Very quiet. A nice atmosphere. Breakfast was quite "samey" but nice enough. Lots of cake! We used the dining room (same as for breakfast) on three nights. The food was good but the room lacks style. Service was bit stretched - lack of staff. Flaws: not enough cupboard space in the bedroom; not enough towel hooks in the bathroom; no soap dish in the shower; sinks that gush over if turned on too hard. Outside: no covers bar so, if it rains (and it rained on us) there's nowhere to go. Amazing really as there's plenty of space. It's just that no one has thought about what guests do when it rains. There's no indoor bar or lounge either so we were forced to have drinks in our room. Not so bad, but not so great either. The pool is nice. Not huge, but nice water and it's possible to swim 8-12 strokes each length. There is not enough shade. Too few umbrellas. A good range of chairs and beds though. The outside bar staff are nice, but they do not come seeking orders - that's also so up up on the terrace area too - I had to hunt down someone to get drinks. Overall, this is a nice place to stay, but it's not 5 star. It could be, quite easily; but the owners need to attend to the details. Lloret de Mar is not a great place. We went down for dinner but could not find anywhere worth stopping. We did have a drink and some nice tapas on the sea front, but we did not stay long and would not go back. Tosse de Mar, up the road about 20 mins was nicer but still not great. Very touristy and packed. Nasty, crowded beach. We did find a good tapas bar - already reviewed. The restaurant next door to Sant Pere del Bosc is rather good. I'll review that separately.

"A great choice for those looking for relaxation"
07/14/15 cmdesha1974 Savannah, Georgia
My family and I stayed at this amazing hotel for a few days and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was! Edward and his staff are excellent and they went above and beyond their call to make us happy. If you are looking for something away from the partying and loud noises of Lloret then this is the place you want to stay. It is up in the mountain only a short drive from the beach but so worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the views are amazing! This is truly a special place.

"A most memorable experience for those with a taste off the beaten path."
07/09/15 N3881SVdavidg Los Angeles, California
Llloret de Mar is a very busy and somewhat cheapened tourist village on the sea about 2 hours north of Barcelona. That was the limit we wanted to drive for r&r as we had a flight back to the USA out of Barcelona, after spending 6 days there. Though Sant Pere Del Bosc Hotel is listed along with all the other's of Lloret it is worlds away in class and location. Above it all, and yes, through the woods on a dirt road, is a beautifully converted monastery offering peace, quiet and arguably the finest cuisine found in that region. We stayed in the Maria Callas suite that had wonderful sunlight, views and a generous private balcony. Take your time choosing your room as the tendency is to show you to the room "they" may want you in versus that which you would "prefer". This Hotel is expensive so get what you're paying for... There are but 19 rooms total so you will feel quite privileged and private. The pool and the grounds are beautiful and we felt the staff was there to accommodate. My strongest suggestion is to dine on the premises. Either in the Hotel or the exceptional restaurant next door. I'd rather not share too much because dining is such a personal and romantic journey. Just don't be in a hurry...enjoy! In sum, we love hotels and Inns that have character, a story to tell, a staff that genuinely and easily offers hospitality, a place that will lodge space in your memories. If your taste run in that direction...go.

"Too expensive for the service offered"
07/05/15 Enric A
Great location, beautiful building and really nice views. The rooms are ok and the swimming pool is very nice and relaxed. We get the impression that there are not enough staff members in the hotel that make the service poor, also there is not enough information. We asked for the room service menu, and they haven't the information printed available. For the price you pay you expect much better service. We also went to the restaurant and the food and the service there was very good.

"No way a 5 Star Hotel!"
06/18/15 InMy0pinion
Firstly, this hotel is not 5 star at all! Its 3 star at best as it doesnt offer you the 5 star amenities you would expect. Pros: The location is amazing. The hotel is located at the top of thr mountain with views of the nearby towan, mountains and the ocean in the distance. Staff are very friendly and very accomodating. They have the best intentions under the circumstances. It seems like the owners/management have a reduced staff present to save money. Further explanation below! Chefs created a vegetarian menu for us as we were staying for 6 nights and the original menu has no veg dishes. Cons: Not enough staff! The first day we arrived we had lunch which was very nice. When we went to the hotel restaurant for dinner at 6pm as it was our 2 year old daughters dinner time we were told the restaurant is closed! We then said fine, can we order room service and again we were told no as there was no chef! The chef starts around 7pm so we would have to wait. We were then told that we couldnt order at 7pm because the waitress starts at 8pm so no one could bring the food to us! We were not happy . We went to the the Spa indoor swimming pool daily as it was shallow enough for our daughter. The pool area and Spa area was only cleaned once while we were there for the 6 nights. There were dead flies on the tiles surrounding the pool that were there until we left! The shower and toilets were not cleaned daily. There was a build up of hair in the shower and the toilets were dirty. The laundry basket was overfilled with all the used towels! There was no one manning the spa. The website says it has a bar. In the evening I went to the restaurant to order a drink. I asked where the bar was. The waitress took me to a sideboard in the corner of the restaurant and started taking bottles of drinks out for me to choose! Where was the barman in this 5 star establishment? They have a buffet breakfast. Again, this was limited like everthing else at the hotel. Not much to offer. The worse part was the chef only works for an hour at the start of the breakfast. Therefore if you order eggs or anything that needs cooking after he leaves the only waitress then has to go in the kitchen to make it for you?! 5 star service? We had no idea there was a manager at the hotel. The day before we were leaving i asked the receptionist if there was a manager and she explained there was and we had seen him everyday. He never introduced him self, he just took our bags to our room when we arrived, i thought he was a bell boy! This may have been a 5 star but not anymore. The lack of staff due to decisions made by the owners/management cause many issues. We paid a lot of money for our room but a 5 star experience wasnt delivered. We booked a large suite with a terrace which was a good size. The room had no stereo system, no ironing board, tv not working well, but did have a minibar with water and fizzy drinks only. No alcohol or snacks that you would expect from a 5 star. If the hotel was described as a 3 star we wouldnt expect so much, but if a hotel charges 5 star prices they should provide the amenities and service. The staff did their best to accomodate us. We had cleaners as well as the chef himself bringing our food to our rooom due to the lack of staff! We did feel sorry for them and explained how grateful we were for their hard work. Without the great staff this hotel would surely not survive!

"Amazing experience in boutique Hotel"
05/03/15 Michael N Marbella, Spain
Beauty full place with amazing view. The hotel is placed just on the top of the hill. To get there you need to drive view km on land road. Very quite place, only view rooms. All of the rooms very good equipped with individual designed furniture. Very friendly staff always ready to help you (flexible with opening hours of Spa etc). Good outside swimming pool while the inside one is quite small but equipped with some massage etc. Nice home made food. For breakfast nice selection of cakes.
