The owners could not have been nicer. They were warm and outgoing and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We spent New Years Eve at the House. The husband, a gormet chef, prepared a New Years Eve dinner that was extraordinary!! A traditional English country side home. Small rooms but spotless. We would return!!!

When planning our current trip, my husband said that he'd never been on the Atlantic coast and wanted to see it. I found the Wellington Hotel through hotels.com, and it looked nice so I booked it. Best. Decision. Ever. The hotel is wonderful, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the room combined old-fashioned charm with a very modern en-suite bathroom, and the location is stunning. Also a big selling point is the hotel's chef, who provided us with an incredible dinner and luscious desserts, with tea served in the warm and inviting loungee. My only warning is that the hotel doesn't have elevators and the rooms are two flights up, so be aware that you will be climbing stairs. if you don't have a problem with that, you're guaranteed a wonderful stay.

Once we had found our way down the narrow Cornwall lanes, we were very pleased with this B&B. The nearby Portscatho was just the sort of tiny coastal village we had hoped to find in Cornwall. It's a bit out-of-the-way, down narrow, hedge-row-lined lanes, but Trewithian Farm is a lovely place with pleasant hostess and fine English breakfast.

Hearty, gourmet food - best on entire trip!! Extraordinarily helpful hosts at front desk who helped research bus schedules and gave a lift to town. Local bus stop very near. Lovely walking trails at nearby manor house gardens.

I had a fantastic stay with a friend at Retallack. We were in one of the apartements which were clean and we loved the interior decor. Everyone at... Retallack was really friendly and helpful. In the morning we were able to feed the ducks from our balcony, which we loved. We used the pool, steam room and sauna all of which were in good condition and very clean. Really impressed with the quality and finish of the apartment and the attention to detail was great. I only marked down location as the nearest shop is a little drive away. Great place for a family holiday.

The accommodation booked was excellent vey modern and clean. We were very disapointed to find that the under floor heating was not working due to a boiler fault. We reported this and they did try to remedy the problem but to no avail, we had to wait hours in a room which sooned turned into an igloo. Had the customer service team moved us sooner we would […] not have wasted hours waiting hanging around shivering and missing out on the spa treatments etc. We were eventually- after much complaining upgraded to another property which was warm, very clean and very nice. We wanted to get away so booked 2 nights last minute. We stayed in a surf suite which was very well appointed. Self catering so we were really pleased to find tea coffee and milk on our arrival. Can't fault the place.

After B&Bs it was nice to have a well equipped apartment for a few days - washing machine, optional self catering etc. I did not use the pool or gym. Used the restaurant one night and we were all pleased with our meals. Close to Padstow etc and without the usual hassle of 'where to park'. The English friends I met there said they would come again

We stayed in one of the one bed Fistral Surf Suites. Very nice apartment, just as pictured on the resorts website. Very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with shower and bath and a balcony that backs on to the lake. We were on the ground floor which means a larger balcony and you get to feed the resident ducks and single swan which roam around the lake […] from balcony to balcony searching out food. The Apartment itself was clean to a satisfactory standard, but the balcony was dirty as was the outdoor patio furniture and patio door facia. Good central base location for touring cornwall. They are still building and the resort will be fantastic when these works are done and they need to clean the lake and get rid of the pond weed near the balconies, perhaps have some plantlife near the balconies. Good location, close to Padstow. Staff not attentive upon arrival. Room nicely laid out, overlooking lake, with kitchen facilties. However, only one chair on terrace, which was damaged. Floors dirty, ended up with hairy socks!!! Couldn't care less attitude from staff at check out.
