"Excellent Neighbourhood but really small rooms"
The hotel is minutes from south beach, but thats it ..the rooms are unbelievably small ..we stayed in the queen studio..there is no ventilation except opening your door or keeping the ac on..I would say pay a few bucks more and stay somewhere else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Simple property; good location; quiet"
Hotel18 is small, two-story property with the rooms having outside access from a central courtyard (an example of MiMo, or Miami Modernist, architecture). The rooms are small and simple -- hard floors, plain furniture, a cooking area with small range, microwave and sink and basic dishes and cookware along with a good sized refrigerator. The bath and […] shower were decent. There is no breakfast area. The staff was very polite and helpful; they go off duty late in the evening and access to the courtyard after they leave is through a keypad. The free wi-fi was solid. All-in-all it has a very European feel to it. One of the best features of the Hotel18 is its location -- it is in a relatively quite area of South Beach (we were not bothered by noise at all), a block and a half north of the Lincoln Road mall and a block east of the Convention Center. As many other reviewers have noted, parking is very challenging in South Beach but the hotel has six spaces adjacent to the side entrance which cost $20 a night and enable you to come and go as you please. If you are going to have a car it would be wise to contact the hotel as soon as you make your reservation in order to reserve one of the parking spaces for your stay. "Nice for the price"
We waited a bit to check in because there was only one person working the front desk who had to escort everyone to their room. With that being said, however, they were extremely polite and accomodating, which made the wait tolerable. The room was quaint but at least it equaled it's value. "Nice hotel close to the beach"
This is a pleasant boutique hotel, walking distance from the beach and next door to the Convention Center. The staff was knowledgeable and very courteous. Room was clean but could use a little updating. Price was right for a hotel near South Beach. If you have a Convention to attend then this place is ideal.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A great stay"
This hotel is clean, comfortable, and quiet. It is an older style hotel, with smaller rooms (those I saw, at least), but it is in good condition and attractively decorated. It is also right near the beach, and not far from a stop for the bus (the Flyer, I think it's called) that travels between the airport and South Beach. I found the proprietors to […] be friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. They had many good suggestions about places to go, restaurants, and sights to see. I think this hotel is a great deal. Excellent Value. Friendly Family Run Staff. You wont be disappointed.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel Staff was great, especially Daphnee and Jorge. The bed could have been a little more comforable. "Great Location, Good price"
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. We were very pleased with our choice. Clean and simple room. Quiet and peaceful hotel. Hotel staff were extremely kind and helpfull. Parking is a big problem and costly (if you found a spot), better without a car and if so then book a place with the hotel. Walking distance to the lincoln mall (10 minutes walk) and […] very close to the beach (5 minutes). Since we are a family we had to travel by bus north to the more family suitable beaches (15 minutes drive by bus, 25c fee pp). Great value for your money Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quaint, Classy, Quiet Place"
This is a three to four star property with many five star features, including amazing service from the nighttime receptionist whose name was Anthony I believe. This hotel was great , easy to find , and also staff was great ! Rooms are clean , everything is straight forward here .. I only wanted to stay on ocean dr, but I'm glad I went with hotel 18 because when I walked ocean dr I saw some of the other hotels and was like I'm glad I'm not staying there on the strip ... Hotel 18 will give you the good nights rest but walking distances from the action ! When using a parking meter .. Parking is free 3am-9am ... Quiet, peaceful little place that is convenient to everything. Very spacious apartment that is better than a standard 1 room Hotel. Yes, the building is old but based on what I saw, recently renovated and very very clean. Front desk check-in personnel gives you personal attention and like the fact that they walk you to the room. Jorge was very pleasant […] and accommodating. Parking is what it is in South Beach but staying at this Hotel, I saved money by cooking my own breakfast and Lunch. That offset the parking fee somewhat. Really love the room I was in. Will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No ice, no parking"
The hotel itself is nice, and is in a prime location (only a block and a half from the beach). It's not quite as upscale as they try to make it seem, but it was cute in a boutique sort of way. The staff was friendly and polite, but was not equipped to provide service recovery... speaking of which, there was no available parking within three blocks of […] the hotel upon check-in. Just be prepared for this. Secondly, the ice maker (which is tucked away in a back alley) was not working and the hotel had no resolution. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We drove into Miami and parked at 17th Street Garage. The hotel is just 2 blocks away. We walked to our hotel and did not take a taxi. "A Nice Little Surprise"
From my first interaction, the staff at the Hotel 18 was kind, attentive, professional, and extremely helpful. My satisfaction seemed to be their goal. The woman at the front desk was an excellent representative for Hotel 18. I arrived early and they had my room ready, so they let me check-in. The room was attractive, efficient, cool, clean, and I was […] very satisfied. The hotel is always buzzing with people manicuring and maintaining the hotel and grounds, etc. This bustle engenders confidence. The courtyard and it's cushioned wicker chairs is a charming little respite when the room is too confining. PLEASE NOTE: If you book through Expedia, please call the hotel and reserve parking. Parking is very difficult in this part of town. There is a lot across the street run by M&M Management, but they take CASH ONLY and the rate is a SLIDING SCALE: ergo, the lot-guy will charge you more on busy days and it's pretty much whatever he feels like charging you. If you're parking overnight, he'll take your car to a "storage lot," then you may as well forget using it for the rest of the day. (I was charged thirty for about 17 hours of parking.). The hotel front office staff was great! However, it was def not an ideal hotel, they only have like 5 parking spots, so if you do not reserve it before you get there you will not be able to park because all the spots get sold out. The front desk of this hotel is very nice. The room is very dry and not like other hotels in Miami beach that feels wet in the room. The location is great and just 7 mins walk to go to the beach. "Surprisingly pretty amazing!"
Honestly with hotel 18 I didn't expect much off the bat, for starters it was pretty cheap and small hotels are always a gamble. However as soon as I got there I changed my mind, everyone was super friendly (guy behind the check in counter walked me to my car to show me where I could park and gave me a tour of the hotel). "Quiet comfortable Hotel"
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet convenient hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice place, undergoing updating and redecorating. Somewhat quirky place, a few oddities, like washing machines outdoors in back, but I liked it. Great location, just 100 feet of Collins Avenue. Staff was especially friendly and helpful. This was really a small apartment (bigger than many apartments in NYC, where I live) and suitable for 4--there was […] a queen bed and a futon in the living room. Also a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishes. Some things were brand new. The one thing I wish there was, but there wasn't, is a coffeemaker, which seems to me a necessity in a place like this. Actually, also missing in the living room was a coffee table or end tables by the futon, as there was nowhere to set dishes or drinks while watching TV; although there was a table with chairs nearby, so perhaps I'm being too fussy. It was a good place for the price, and we would stay there again. Parking is extremely limited--just a few spaces in back, and it's first-come first-serve, and they were occupied, so I had to pay to park in a nearby lot. WiFi worked great. "A wonderful boutique hotel on a quiet street!"
Great stay at Hotel 18 and would definitely come back. I've told my friends and colleagues to consider it for their trips to Miami Beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. When planning our Miami vacation we chose to drive instead of flying from Philadelphia Pa. I know I know but it was a pleaseat trip down. We arrived much earlier than expected but to my surprise when we contacted Hotel 18 we were offered an early check in at no addtl charge. We arrived at 12 noon and were greeted with an entry code for the front gate […] and the room we were staying in. This was great because there was no need to carry unnecessary keys to the beach we just programmed the numbers in our cell phones and off we went. The facility was clean and the beds were very comfortable we even had a full kitchen and small refridgerator/freezer which was extremly convenient and cost saving. In the morning we made breakfast and packed lunch for the beach for a few days all it took was a short drive to Walmart and we had everything we needed. This was such a relaxing vacation the hotel staff was so accomodating and efficient and the scenery is very comfortable, clean and attractive. The hotel doesn't have a pool but the location is good and close to everything. I would definately stay here again and I even recommended it for next year when we are back in South Beach. I would also like to add that I left some belongings behind by mistake and instead of discarding them I was contacted and given the option to have them sent to me fed ex....I thought this was amazing.....I was truly surprised as I thought my items would be gone forever.... "If you need a basic room for a night or two.."
This hotel worked for my purposes. I came to South Beach to have an elective procedure and this hotel was five minutes away from my plastic surgeon. Like most of the buildings on South Beach, Hotel18 is older set buildings that was once something else(I got the impression it used to be a collection of senior-living apartments). However, it looks to […] have been modestly renovated in recent years with basic upgrades and amenities. My studio twin room had a refrigerator and microwave (both clean and in working condition), which worked well for me since I was not in town to have fun or go out to eat. The bathroom was in decent condition, except the tub was slightly "off". The past couple of hotels I stayed in though (including a $200/night Marriott), I noticed the tub floor seemed to be sligthly stained, and just being OCD, I always bring old flip flops/shower shoes when traveling, so this wasn't a huge problem for me. This would be a great hotel for budget travelers, college kids, or maybe someone in town for a business purpose who only needs to be on South beach for a night or two. The location is great because it’s a block away from the beach, and off of Collins Ave which has lots of restaurants, stores, nightlife, etc. I would not recommend this hotel for people coming here to live it up for a weekend, have a nice “girls” or “guys” trip, romantic vacation, etc. For those purposes, there are some other close by hotels I would recommend. "Close to the beach"
What I like about this place is that its only 2 blocks away from the beach and close to many restaurants. The have a nice little lounging area outside the rooms which is a great place to just hang out and read a book. There is no pool, so look elsewhere if you're looking for that. Because people book here for days, weeks and months at a time, they try […] to cater it to those visitors. They have washers and dryers located in the back for doing laundry. The rooms have a decent size fridge and a small kitchen. Being so close to the beach made the hard wood floors a real pain when you drag in sand. We had to lay our towels down so we wouldn't track sand into the beds. You can tell that they recently updated all of the rooms and I wish they had spent a little more money on the quality of beds. One night was rough enough, I couldn't see myself sleeping on those beds for days at a time. So if you're looking for a comfy bed, keep looking. If you want something cheap and close to everything, this is your place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Pros: Great location, clean, has a stove and fridge, quit neighborhood Cons: looks like a motel than a hotel, the room had a smell to it, the ac was making a lot of noises which would interfere with your sleep, we didn't get a feel that it was a 3 star hotel, will not stay at this place if I go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

Hotel staff were great. Loved that they just had keycodes for the front gate and the doors. Also loved that you could use the gate and not have to walk through the hotel lobby every time. Nice courtyard to sit in if you wanted. One block over from the beach, good location. Kitchenettes were stocked fine.. Beds were comfortable. No complaints really- […] the bathroom is tiny, the toilet handles have to be held down and our curtain rod fell down while we were there but they immediately came up to check on it.
