"amazing views! great 4mts pool, food and service!"
We had a great time! 15 min walking or 3 by car access to a beautifull beach. The service at hotel was great. and my boyfriend loved the 4mt deep pool to dive in.. no kids around. We will be back for sure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful Stay at Issimo!!"
We stayed 5 nights at Issimo and have nothing but wonderful things to say! The staff is so accommodating, friendly and resourceful. Everyone from the staff at front desk, wait staff, and the housekeeping staff, were so kind and provided wonderful service. We stayed in a penthouse suite with a balcony and the room was perfect, and the view stunning. We […] were able to sit on the balcony in the mornings and watch as the monkeys played on the roof and among the trees....so cool! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom nice and clean and a large walk in closet to store our bags, was a nice added bonus! The included breakfast buffet was decent, not much of a variety, but what was offered was tasty! Lunch menu was good as well. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant, as we wanted to venture out to the town each night and try other restaurants! Service at the restaurant was great! The pool area is small and quaint, but very quiet and the time we did spend there, it seemed as if we had the hotel to ourselves. With a great view, and a drink in hand, it was a very peaceful setting. We would highly recommend Issimo for your trip to Manuel Antonio! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Is a nice hotel, with very nice rooms. Is small and you cannot imagine to spend a whole day in it. IS just to have a romantic and nice night stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice quiet cozy place."
The service and food were exceptional. Dickson and crew made this stay perfect. We ate here every night and the food and drinks were great and priced right. The monkeys stopped by on occasion and we had a blast. Thank You Dickson, Alex and the rest of the staff for a great time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel with great views and atmosphere."
This is a beautiful little hotel in a great location if you're interested in access to beach and rain forests. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They greeted me with a refreshing drink and were happy to help arrange the excursions I was interested in. It really felt like everyone was happy to help. I found the suites very relaxing and loved […] watching the sunsets from my balcony (even had a monkey pay me a visit). As far as things guest may have an issue with, I loved the jacuzzi tub, but some people find the bathroom area too open to the rest of the suite. It didn't bother me it may not be to everyone's taste. Also, since this hotel is surrounded by forests even though they clean constantly you will we some bugs, it's just part of the experience if you want the location. I didn't feel the few I saw were a problem, but I know some people can't handle that. I loved the location, because a great little beach was just a short walk away and there was plenty of wildlife to see. Right around the hotel I enjoyed watching monkeys, sloths, and a very large iguana. If you're in reasonable shape you can stay at this hotel without a car and walk to nearby restaurants. However it is an uphill walk along the side of the road, so you may prefer a car. Taxis are easy to get and if you're walking will stop and ask if you want a ride. Overall I loved my stay at this hotel and in the region. I hope to come back soon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A nice hotel, but not worth the price"
This was a nice hotel, but I don't think it was worth the price we paid. We were greeted with wonderful fruit drinks by Dickson and check-in was an easy process. The room is nice, but a bit small. The bed was comfortable, but we did not have consistent hot water for our shower the entire three days we were there. This is a deal breaker for us. The pool […] is nice and the walk to the private beach is short. While we did not see monkeys at the hotel, we did see them on the path to the beach. The breakfast was good (omelet's made to order) and the service was great. We did not eat there for lunch or dinner so I can't speak to the menus. Overall a nice hotel. "The best hotel we saw when walking around the area"
This was the best hotel we saw when walking/driving around Manuel Antonio. Most people staying there were couples between the ages of 27-50. Short walk to semi-private beach, incredible views, monkeys on the balcony, great breakfast. I don't often feel this way but I would 100% stay there again and will reccommend it to all my friends.Genuine Expedia guest review

Had a wonderful time and enjoyed every part of this vacation. Beautiful views, great service, great food.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice splurge at the beach."
A little over priced but overall we liked the place. Gorgeous view from the rooms and extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom had a funky odor that needs to be worked on (I believe room 109, but truly can't remember) but other than that the room was nice. There were coffee mugs in the room but no coffee pot, so that would have been nice too! A golf […] cart or transportation to the top of the hill would be ideal since the hotel is located in a hard spot to get around. The staff were extremely helpful, even offering a ride to the top of the hill one day when they got off work!! They also recommended a sunset Catamaran cruise which we loved! Wish we'd had more time to enjoy the pool area, but got to see a sloth and lots of monkeys right off our balcony. We'd definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Penthouse suite should have a more private shower and bathroom which are completely exposed and visible from the bedroom. Not a very private room design. Also, Issimo is rather isolated from Manuel Antonio Beach; you have to take a taxi to get to the beach which costs $5.00 each way. The rooms all have an excellent view of the ocean. "Very Nice Place and in a great part of the country"
I will keep this simple. Costa Rica is a great vacation spot and Issimo is a lovely hotel. The place is a little smaller than some of the hotels we are used to staying in but the view more than made up for it. We stayed in their upgraded (2nd level) room which is about $200 more for six nights and it was worth every penny. Staying at peak season we […] didn't expect any breaks on the price but I have heard that they will work with you if you call them directly. The hotel is very nice and comfortable, and the view is beautiful (from the swimming pool _and_ from the room). The hotel is located off the main road, which makes it very quiet and peaceful, but also more difficult to get to without a taxi or a car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful room with great ocean and forest view"
The hotel is nice with a beautiful pool and terrace with view on the ocean. The suites are wonderful, at least ours in duplex with a huge bay window on ocean and forest. We even had the visit of a monkey in the morning right in front of our window.Genuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is very cute. Staffs are wonderful. If you have knee problem this is not the hotel for you.Genuine Expedia guest review
It may have been because we were there in the off-season, however, the bar was only open during select times. The pool bar was never open. It was difficult to find food at the hotel other than breakfast. It was also difficult to figure out what attractions were in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review

"The hotel and staff were phenomenal."
We were treated with the utmost respect and hospitality. Upon entering the hotel we we're greeted with a drink and a warm welcome. The staff was at our beckon call and their service was spectacular. We celebrated my birthday there and the owner surprised us by singing happy birthday and paying for our drinks and our deserts. He also gave us a tour of […] The Royal Suite, which was awesome might I add, including it's own personal pool and stoned in Jacuzzi! The view was breath taking and there wasn't a need for television because we were entertained watching wild life and nature alone. I have recommended this hotel to my friends and family and I am anxiously awaiting our return in April. Thanks again for all your hospitality, and your work ethics of exceeding our expectations. "Beautiful hotel with a friendly staff"
We stayed at Issimo for 4 nights as the first leg of our Costa Rica adventure. We loved the super comfortable king size bed, the shower and the views from our room. Request room 106 if you want a 180 degree view of the pacific and surrounding rainforest. And make sure you make time to relax and swim in the pool- it's one of the deepest I've seen in […] country. The best part that they don't really advertise is the amount of local wildlife you'll see from your room and the outdoor dining area. We were greeted with monkeys every morning, and several different birds, including a kite that perched on our balcony. The access to the semi-private beach and close to many of the bet restaurants in town made this an ideal vacation spot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Costa Rica Honeymoon trip"
The hotel was awesome, monkeys visited us on our balcony everyday.. The staff was excellent, food could have been a little better. Very romantic hotel to be at for a honeymoon. The beaches were close and we saw several sloths along the way. We plan on going back next year to the same hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pura Vida Issimo"
Issimo is a nice little boutique hotel, small and quaint and unpretencious like some other large resorts. Lovely for couples! no kids or lots of people! The staff are friendly and we recieved 30% off meals as guests of hotel. What was neat was the monkeys that come up to the dining and pool area in the afternoon. The room is large and has a nice view […] of Manuel Antonio and a shared outdoor sitting area. The pool is clean refreshing with umbrellas for shade. I would recommend a car to drive the short distance down the road to Playa Biseanz since the road is steep as well as an additional rocky walk down a secluded path to the beach. Good location for everything. Turn right at cafe Milagro and its a few minutes down the road. We stayed in room 112. The only complaint we have is that there were tiny little ants around the sink area that kept returning. We told the staff but they kept coming back. The air conditioner was a bit loud though the night. And finally, I did notice a small spot of blood stain on the white down comfortor the last day. wasnt happy about that. My husband had a tough time sleeping and he is not a light sleeper. Over all, we would recommend this hotel. I would just make a recommendation to the hotel to fix the ants and stain issue. Not appealing at all. Overall. We had a lively time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Honeymoon Experience."
Really nice "Boutique-Hotel" its small with just a couple of rooms for people who don't like crowds. Restaurant has top-notch food, it has a really nice pool, its close to the beach (10min walk) and the rooms are comfortable. Some mornings you can spot monkeys in the nearby trees outside your room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Disappointed. Looks better in pictures."
We had really high hopes for this hotel, but were disappointed. Our room was on a basement level (standard room). Everything about the room and hotel was just "off". The curtains were too small for the window, the vanity was tiny and you had to duck to use the mirror, there wasn't any shampoo or conditioner provided, there was soap provided but it was […] unwrapped and had hair on it, we didn't receive washcloths, there was no alarm clock, one of the lights we turned off flickered on and off all night, the list goes on. The hotel is just OK. Some of the staff were nice and some were just indifferent. The only thing this hotel has going for it is a beautiful view. We tried to get out of our reservation early to go somewhere else, but couldn't without losing our money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and it was the lowest point of our trip to costa rica. "Great hotel for couples"
We have stayed many places in the area. This hotel is perfect for couples who want to relax and experience costa rica with some amenities. The rooms are lovely, beds were comfortable, large jacuzzi and our view was great. If you need to have a TV, the rooms have them as compared to some others in the area that do not. Discounted spa and lunch and dinner […] for hotel guests was a treat. Also, coffee was delivered to our room every morning so we could enjoy the monkeys from our balcony before having breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Buffet included fruit, bread for toast, two types of cake and pancakes. You can also order a variety of breakfast dishes including eggs off the menu in addition to the buffet items. Service was great. There was a deck to overlook the ocean and a good sized pool. Not a place for children - even those that are teens. More for couples/adults only. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel! Staff was friendly, room had a very romantic setting and happy hour was great!! Issimo has only 13 suites creating an intimate stay and not having to deal with a crowded hotel. Location is also great -- 10 minute walk to Playa Beisan. Would def recommend!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and private, very attentive service"
It was the first place we stayed in Costa Rica. very nicely held and private. I believe there are only 5 to 6 suites in all. We stayed in the penthouse suite on the top floor. The view was great. You could see the woods and ocean in daytime. There was a jacuzzi and a shower room. The hot water wasn't stable though. They have live music on Wednesday […] and Friday. Free mojito was offered. The pool was nice too, half regular and half deep. You could see the ocean from one end. The hotel lobby was small and open, so if you were having dinner in the lobby, you can see the front desk, woods, pool, and ocean. BTW the breakfast was great, there was no where else in Costa Rica you can have omelette made from natural organic eggs! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"One of the coolest Boutique Hotels!"
Loved the atmosphere, the rooms, the coffee at your door when you wake up. It was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The restaurant has great food. Breakfasts are really good, along with the service. The views of the monkeys are wonderful. It's an adult only hotel, they were very strict on that rule, as we were told before booking, that our grandchildren […] could visit us for lunch or dinner. But it wasn't allowed when we stayed, which was so disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
There are a lot of hotels in Manual Antonio area, so I would try somewhere else. The hotel is perched on a cliff with good view of the forest and ocean. Nice sunset and wild life viewing. Good size room with Jacuzzi. Front desk would arrange all the tours you need. They tried to provide incentives. They gave a bottle of sweet wine at arrival, free room […] service of coffee each morning. It does have many potentials, so I feel bad that they didn't get the fundamentals right. Too bad that I feel the management hasn't gotten everything working togehter just right yet. The food quality left more to be desired, so you would be better off eating somewhere else. On the second day, our toilet is clogged, the sink has slow drain, and the Jacuzzie's hot water has very very slow flow, so the water can't be hot enough. The house keeping service is slacking. I don't typically need housekeeping much. However, they provided free room service coffee tray in the morning, so it has to be picked up or bugs are coming. The trash can is so small that it needs to be emptied every day. Often after a whole day of activities, we returned to the room undone in late afternoon. We had to ask them to get it done while we were out for dinner. We saw staff working all day, but accomplished little, so I think they really need to work on process and procedures to streamline things and increase productivities. "Great "Private" Hotel w/ view (no kids allowed)."
This is a "boutique hotel" done right. Staff is great at exceeding needs. We stayed in Room 107 for 8 nights right before Thanksgiving. Almost everything was perfect. The view from room was great w/ a good view of the ocean in the distance. After seeing baconies available in other rooms, I can safely say that 107's is the best, both spacious & private. […] Others may have better views, but some, small or not very private above us. Everything in room was great except the bath. Bed was very comfy, AC worked well, had a sm.fridge, walk in closet w/ shelving, safe, fresh coffee every morning, free breakfast (which is quite good), bidet, rock lined shower, 2 couches, a desk/chair, and a large jacuzzi tub, which for some reason could barely muster up warmish water. The shower temp was consistently great, but couldn't get the tub temp to ever come up. This hotel, is a drive or bus ride into town away. Walking is not a realistic option. They said there is a beach to walk to, but it looked far. Less than a half a kilometer from the hotel is a dirt road right down to a beautiful beach (4x4 recommended). This was a better option for us. There is only one restaurant at this hotel, with a limited menu, but it seems to fit a variety of needs well, & the food is good. Room service is also FREE here :) The pool area is small, but very nice. Sm.infinity pool gives a great view over the jungle at the ocean. "Full of nature"
We stayed a regular room, not a royal suite but it was very clean and full of hospitality. Tons of rose on the bed and bathtub, welcome champagne bottle, and jaccuzi in the room. Between the hotel and the sea, there is a deep forest, and in the morning, we were a able to see some monkeys on the trees. The restaurant is ok level, seafood pasta was too […] salty for me. Only one thing I did not like was the location of the hotel. It is in the mountain and far from the town. You need to drive 15-20min from Quepos. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic hotel for anniversaries and honeymoons!"
Came for a 2-day visit to celebrate wedding anniversary with my wife. Hotel is very nice and well kept, and without a doubt has one of the best views in Manuel Antonio. Hotel staff is very friendly and food and tour prices are very accesible. The only downside I would say has to be the quality of the food, which is plain (I wouldn't say it's bad, but […] it's not tasty) with the exception of the cheesecake (it was INCREDIBLE!!), and the time needed for room service is simply HORRIBLE... Both nights had room service (which is free BTW) but both took well over an hour to show up at our room (even though one night was only a ceviche and a slice of cheesecake). The hotel is 100% children free (no one under 12 years old is allowed in the premises) so it's very tranquil. Beach access requires walking at least 10 minutes, including a 5 minute off-road hike, but the area is safe and enjoyable. Overall I'd definitely recommend for couples looking for a romantic, secluded getaway, but if you can rent a car to get around to restaurants and other local spots, I'd definitely recommend.
