It's in a lovely seaside area with view of the skyline and the daily ride with the ferry from bayswater was absolutly easy to handle. There is also a good bus conaction not far away from the hotel.

When I booked the hotel thru Expedia.com, it showed the hotel is 12km away from the airport. Actually it is 35 km away and took us almost one hour to get there from the airport by taxi. My husband was very unhappy! The hotel does not provide any facial tissues in the room. It is not convenience for people have allergy there. We love Takapuna Oaks! It is so clean and quiet. The kitchen is wonderful to have! The staff is friendly. We stayed for 6 days and enjoyed thoroughly. Thank you! The ferries run less frequently during the weekends. So if you don't have a car, plan your schedule well. We love the hotel!!

This hotel is new in 2011 and almost perfect. The location is across the bay from Auckland with a 5 minute walk to the marina and a 15 minute ferry to downtown. The view from the room was picture perfect of the city skyline and the bridge. The hotel even provided a voucher for the ferry fees. The folks there provided great service but being a small […] place the times of the desk, restaurant etc fluctuated depending on staff availability. The only downside is that on weekends, the ferry doesn't operate very often and public transportation was difficult without it. 5 times on weekend days, every half hour during the work week. We were there on a weekend. If you want a quaint and quiet place that has fast accessibility to the hustle and bustle of Auckland this is a great place - and the price was great, too! Read more

Very nice hotel with excellent, well-equipped rooms in a nice quiet area somewhat off the beaten track. However, it is only a short drive to Devonport, from where one can take the ferry to Auckland. There are also a few restaurants in Devonport, including the very good Monsoon (Thai). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had a great stay over Easter weekend. Very quiet and relaxing location with fantastic views over to Auckland city and the bridge. 5 minute walk to marina to catch the ferry across to the city. Room was spacious with adequate kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom with washing machine /dryer. The location, service and standard of accommodation was excellent. The only negative aspect was the restaurant. The meals we had very not up too the high standard of the remainder of the hotel. Maybe too many different dishes.One also has to be aware that the ferries may not be running quite as frequently as one expects.

We would definatley recommend this hotel it was spacious, clean and a nice view, although other rooms on the sky tower side would have a difficult view through the tree`s, we were on the other side on the 3rd floor and had a good view although we could not see the sky tower from it but that was just a short stroll down the hall to the bar. We only stayed here for 1 night before commencing our holiday further south. It was very comfortable and the room was spacious. We had dinner in the hotel which was reasonable and included a free glass of wine. It was not so convenient for many of the Auckland sights but good for a quick stopover.

This hotel met all our expectations and then some (washing machine/dryer). The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise with good food and great views of Auckland city skyline. Rajesh was an excellent host. Free Ferry tickets & Shuttle Bus to Auckland CBD were available if required, as was secure onsite parking.

Comfortable rooms and beds with a view over the harbour from some rooms and from the restaurant, walking distance of the Bayswater and the Devonport ferries giving and from rooms, easy access to Aucklnad and the islands. Access from the airport would be easier with a car.

We found the staff very good and happy to help us with any questions we had. The only thing we think they could improve is we had to order and pay for an adult meal for our 6yr old grandson which was far too much, and the continental breakfast did not include any fruit to go on the cereal.

An excellent hotel. The view from the lounge is awesome, overlooking the harbour area of Auckland. If I was to make any criticism it would be that the service in the restaurant was a little slow, but Brian the restaurant manager handled the situation perfectly. He is a real asset to the hotel. Our first room had spot carpet cleaning done 2hours before our arrival at 6.30pm the carpet was wet the room was closed up and chemical smell was shocking. We needed to be very assertive that we could not stay in there due to the smell even after over half an hour of airing. The cupboards and walk-in wardrobe had a very musty, stale odour. This hotel has the most amazing views of Auckland CBD and Harbour. The rooms are well equipped and nicely fitted out. We booked a two bedroom harbour view room, clearly stating that we had 3 children and advised their ages. We also requested that we would need the sofa bed made up and paid the addtional fee for this. We frequently travel and understand […] that additional bedding for a third child incurs a fee - it is standard at most accommodation places and completely acceptable. When we opened up the sofa bed it was not made up - Not a problem, this can easily be fixed...or so I thought. I called reception to arrange for some sheets and the man working on reception, much to my astonishment actually started arguing with me about it! I simply stated we need the sheets - don't worry about a pillow or blanket as we can use what the room has as extras. He continued to argue! I said I will come down and get the sheets, it isn't a problem but he gruffly said he would bring them up, which he did and gave them to my husband without a word.
