Great property, wonderful service, helpful and friendly staff. Thanks for the recommendations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Samos is absolutely beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer. We only stayed one night in between ferries from Athens and to Turkey. The staff was helpful and friendly and helped us arrange a taxi to the ferry docks for the next day. The hotel was a little difficult to find but the views were good and the walk through the town was nice. I would […] recommend this hotel, especially at Expedia prices! The hotel is very clean. Breakfast was nice. However, this hotel is away form the center of town. If you don;t mind going up and down the hill many times, then it is ok. I didi not like the service. There is nothing of interest near this hotel at all. The rooms are clean, but the beds are extremely uncomfortable. In addition you can hear noises and […] conversations from the rooms next door.I also did not appreciate the coldness and sometines rude attitude of the staff. There are better choices in town. "Lovely family hotel + great views from roof pool"
Had a good time.. The hotel is 10 min walk uphill from the town centre, our studio had twin beds :( room had a great balcony/terrace with views over the harbour/bay.. The hotel also has a really nice small bar with a balcony. The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful. The roof swimming pool is small but really great amenity and unexpected in a […] small town hotel..it has great views in all directions and a small bar.. Excellent place to cool off in the evening and watch sunset.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice clean room but thin connecting door"
The hotel has an ideal location within walking distance to the center. Our room was clean and the staff was helpful. We were given a studio with connecting door to the next room. Through the paper thin door we could hear everything going on in the next room. That was the only negative thing in Virginia hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"experience in studio flat"
We stayed at the Virginia Hotel for 2 weeks in a studio flat with small kitchenette and balcony. Services are the same as those of the hotel: rooms are daily cleaned and the towels changed every day. The service and cleanliness are accurate. The hotel is cute and is positioned just a few minutes walk from the center of the town of Samos. The staff are […] very courteous and helpful. However, I must report that the studio is not much bigger than a hotel room so the kitchen (just an electric cooker, an American coffee maker and dishes for two people) is useful for preparing a breakfast and some coffee, but it's not good for uses more intensive. Finally, I report that the one-room flat on the ground floor is too much attached to neighboring properties and you cannot see anything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The Virginia was our base for a walking holiday. It is situated in the lower part of the old town of Vathi, which is a 10-15 minute uphill walk from Samos Town. It is a family run hotel, and everyone connected with it was welcoming and helpful and eager to please. Our room had a small balcony and overlooked the street, but some higher rooms faced the sea and would, presumably, have been quieter. The room was clean and comfortable, but rather cramped, and it was difficult to access the wardrobe, which was located near the door. The shower worked well and towels were changed daily. Air conditioning was available at 5 euro per day. There was no room safe, but a safety deposit box near reception could be rented for 15 euro per week. I thought this was rather expensive. There was a small rooftop pool and a few loungers, and a bar terrace which looked out towards the port. All in all we enjoyed our stay here, but breakfast was disappointing. We got a bit tired of yoghurt and home made jam. Bread was not the freshest, and although croissant appeared from time to time, you had to be quick to get one ; and despite eating early, we only found fresh fruit on one occasion. We bought fruit and pastries from the nearby shops.
"Good value for money, personal atmosphere"

Room spacious enough for cases and hanging up clothes. Bed really comfortable, but heat made deep sleep difficult for me as aircons are generally too noisy so preferred to sleep with window and shutters open. Bathroom with shower reasonable size. Staff very friendly and helpful. Public areas very clean and home-like atmosphere with nice plants around a terrace. Rooftop pool with sunbeds on small terrace with view over Samos rooftops and harbour in distance was esp. nice early evenings.
"The place to choose :)"

We returned from our holiday a week ago and stayed at Virginia hotel in Samos. First of all, we don't have anything negative to say about the hotel. Room was really nice, tidy and they were cleaned daily. Hotel is in good location in Vathi, only a few minutes walk to the seafront. Hotel's breakfast was really good including lovely greek youghurt, delicious coffee and croissants etc. From the pool you can see amazing sunsets. The nicest thing in the hotel was the staff! They were so so friendly and helpful. They did everything to answer our questions and we also got the best restaurant recommendations from them. So don't hesitate to ask help from the staff! It really was a pleasure to stay there. One of the best hotels we've ever been to :) C&M
"Favorite hotel. Period."
An absolute pleasure to stay here. Inexpensive, clean, beautiful view with rooftop swimming pool. A lovely family owned hotel where they treat you like family. We arrived late and hadn't eaten all day but were surprised to find that they had homemade fresh food made by Grandma! It was amazing. The staff was outstanding as well! Highly recommended
"Nice hotel, but infested with bedbugs"

Amazingly helpfull staff! Will do everything to answer your questions. Even calling friends if they don't know the answer. This is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in! Nice! Rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast is simple and at 6€, somewhat expencive. There is a bakery selling big sandwiches with ham and cheese for 1€ each 300 meters down the road. - much better! There is also a posibility to eat at the hotelrestaurant in the evening. One dish is served each day and is posted on the wall. We didn't try the dinnerservice. Location is mediocre with 700 meters ~ 10 minutes walk to the citycenter. Some of the rooms are close to a noisy road, but since this a residentialstreet it is mostly quiet at night and if you are here in the summer you will have the doors closed and the aircondition on - it's in every room. 5€ per day - only operational with the magnetic key in the switch. Nice, small, top-floor, non heated pool with good view of the city with a bar I think is open during the summer. Unfortunately the rooms are infested with bedbugs. All three of us had bites all over with the characteristic "breakfast, lunch and dinner" markings. Other guests also had the very itching "mosquito bites", There were no biting insects at the time. We did not examine the beds since we didn't know the exact cause of the markings untill we got home. Our 5 year old daugter slept in an unfolded sleepingchair. She got 10 bites, much less than us adults.

"good value for money"

I stayed in this hotel for two weeks in August. The hotel is nice, clean, comfortable and the staff helpful. The lady who cleans the rooms is a lovely English lady really nice. There is also a small swimming pool on the third floor but we have not used (the sea is so great and better than the pool). The hotel is' close to the center that can be reached with a short walk for 5 minutes, in a quiet and away from the bustling harbor. The only thing I would mention is the choice of the floor of the room: try to get one on the upper floors, as well as the best view, but the room will be more beautiful (on the ground floor there is more humidity and we had to leave the closet a little 'open to remove the smell of damp). We had chosen a studio with kitchenette but we found out later that it was just a hot plate and a sink, while in the other apartments there was a real kitchen. But these small mistakes not prevented us from being really good for the whole stay. Convenient parking in the back for the bike. One other note were the cute cats, being on the ground floor, every morning they had breakfast with us (the island is full of cats in search of food and cuddles)
"Very helpful staff,incredible friendly!!"
A nice and clean hotel, staff was great. Very helpful, told us everything about the island.rooms were big and were cleaned every day.location was good,a 7 minute walk from town hall and 15 from the.port.
"A good choice for a walking group"
07/11/12 tryfan Ludlow, Shropshire
We stayed here recently as a group of 12 on an independent walking holiday. Our room had a wonderful sea view and we would have been able to enjoy beautiful sunsets but we were always out at that time! The room was well-equipped if rather small and was very well-maintained. Other rooms were larger but lacked the wonderful view. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the pool was a bonus after a long, hot walk. Breakfast was of a good standard but it would have been nice to have had some variety - water melon and scrambled egg every day got rather boring. The prices in the bar were quite high and this prevented our buying many drinks there as they were cheaper in town, even on the harbour front. We were also charged 5 euros a day for the air-con and this was unexpected.
