Hotel is in a good location fairly close to watefront about 10 mins walk. Rooms are dark and dingy and shower fittings broken with dirt and mould on shower. Official photos of the pool area are vey very flattering Only Hotel I have stayed at where they charge extra for airconditioning Definately better accommodation options in Samos Town

"Beautiful Samos"
Samos is absolutely beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer. We only stayed one night in between ferries from Athens and to Turkey. The staff was helpful and friendly and helped us arrange a taxi to the ferry docks for the next day. The hotel was a little difficult to find but the views were good and the walk through the town was nice. I would recommend this hotel, especially at Expedia prices!

The hotel is very clean. Breakfast was nice. However, this hotel is away form the center of town. If you don;t mind going up and down the hill many times, then it is ok. I didi not like the service. There is nothing of interest near this hotel at all. The rooms are clean, but the beds are extremely uncomfortable. In addition you can hear noises and conversations from the rooms next door.I also did not appreciate the coldness and sometines rude attitude of the staff. There are better choices in town.

"Nice clean room but thin connecting door"
The hotel has an ideal location within walking distance to the center. Our room was clean and the staff was helpful. We were given a studio with connecting door to the next room. Through the paper thin door we could hear everything going on in the next room. That was the only negative thing in Virginia hotel.

"experience in studio flat"
We stayed at the Virginia Hotel for 2 weeks in a studio flat with small kitchenette and balcony. Services are the same as those of the hotel: rooms are daily cleaned and the towels changed every day. The service and cleanliness are accurate. The hotel is cute and is positioned just a few minutes walk from the center of the town of Samos. The staff are very courteous and helpful. However, I must report that the studio is not much bigger than a hotel room so the kitchen (just an electric cooker, an American coffee maker and dishes for two people) is useful for preparing a breakfast and some coffee, but it's not good for uses more intensive. Finally, I report that the one-room flat on the ground floor is too much attached to neighboring properties and you cannot see anything.

"Little gem of a place in Samos with home cooking"
07/27/15 Research66 Essex, United Kingdom
We were lucky to stay 2 weeks at Virginia's hotel last September and Virginia's family including Grandma ,Angela ,Fotini and Panayiota all make you feel so welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very spacious . We had an end room on third floor with beautiful old wooden shutters opening to the balcony and a view to the harbour. We loved it & with the roof top pool to cool off as well. Security Safes are available at reception . A short walk to the harbour & restaurants. Lovely home cooked food if you wish to eat at Virginia's and good choice for breakfast . Thank you Virginia & Panayiota for letting us have early breakfast some days . If we return to Samos ,we definitely hope to stay again at Virginia's . Lots of wonderful tortoises outside in the gardens and Virginia can organise taxi pick up from airport. Plenty to do on Samos . Boat trips at Vathy Harbour to Patmos & Ikaria .Local buses to Psilli Ammos with a great beach & to Pythagorian which has a pretty harbour ,boat trips & a lovely monastery on top of hill. Archeaology Sites nearby. The famous Samos Wine factory is at the end of the harbour in Vathy and is definitely worth a visit . The wine is cheaper and an opportunity to see how wine is produced .

"Perfect couples vacation!"

My girlfriend and I had only one week of vacation together this summer and we decided to book a last-minute unspecified trip to Samos. We didn't know anything about the hotel we were given, or were on Samos island we ended up. When we arrived to the familiy-driven Virginia Hotel we paid a little extra to get a suite with a fantastic view from the balcony! The sunset from our balcony, or from the restaurant where chef Georgia cooked fantastic greek food every night, was stunning! (The most amazing Mousaka I have ever tasted!) This turned out to become the perfect vacation for me and my girlfriend, because of the location of the hotel (a 5min walk away from the centrum), the view, the delicious food, and of course the wonderful greek hospitality! We wanted to do something different on one of our last days, and Georgia (the chef and friend of Virginias family) lent to us her car for a whole day so we could drive to other locations on the island! Have never experienced anything like it before! Would definitely go back! :)

"base for walking holiday"

The proprietor and her family offer a friendly service. The rooms are well equipped and spotless, many with sea views. There is a rooftop pool and easy access on foot to the town of Samos. The bar and adjacent covered veranda offer an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing coffee and Samos brandy after enjoying a meal in the evening. The town offers a great choice of restaurants but do not leave without having a dinner cooked by Virginia.

Beautiful location and view, the food is gr8 and well prepared and very tasteful! The room we had, had a gr8 view onto the city and the sea. Decoration and equipment are ok, the room is and was well cleaned. At the reception we got several gr8 tips and I did learn about new beaches and superb restaurants even after all my previous visits to Samos. This hotel offers all you need for a relaxed stay in Samos, great staff, good food and fine rooms. A place we will certainly return to.

"Not worth it"
11/25/14 mparmpatina Athens, Greece
Reading the great reviews on tripadvisor we decided to visit it. Huge mistake. It is an old hotel recently renovated. The lobby area was average and the rooms just nice but spacious. The view of the room was on the road and in the room there were a pair of steps which makes difficulties with our movements in the room. The location is remote from the center. Difficult access unless you have a car or motorbike. About cleanliness when we went in the room smells delicious but the next day the towels smelled smoke and we saw the following unacceptable, clean towels placed on my suitcase. Unacceptable. Also in the room there was no control for air-conditioning resulting in an evening that was too hot can not sleep. Next morning they told us that we had to ask???? I have never met something like that before. Breakfast totally indifferent. Finally the pool which looks more like a fountain rather than pool is too small and photos are very misleading. Definitely not worth the money.

"Lovely family run tortoise hotel"
08/30/14 Herman H Trondheim, Norway
Don't get tricked by the official stars! This hotel deserves a better review. The hotel's core and soul is the family, who does whatever it takes for you to have a nice stay. They are easy to talk to, and you can ask about anything. They will even special order a quad bike outside the hotel for you. From the second we arrived they were friendly and welcoming, and gave us tips where to go. I would recommend ordering half pension, which gives you a three course dinner every day. You can't choose the menu, but the greek food is amazing. Grandma's recipe, fresh meat from the uncle (butcher) and self-made olive oil from their farm. This way, you will eat food you won't find on the menu elsewhere. And who can resist local, greek food? The pool isn't especially big, but that gives an advantage; no kids! Yet, it is big enough to take some strokes and cool you down. It's located on the third floor which gives an incredible view from the sunbeds. The hotel's location is far enough from the city to avoid noise, but still within walking distance (5 min). The hotel's signature is the tortoises. In every flower bed you will find many tortoises. You are even allowed to pick them up and play with them. In my opinion, the breakfast is the only thing that could need some improvement. It is sufficient and it offers what you would expect, but you will not find anything extra. The best thing about this hotel is that the family really seems to care about you, which gives the entire hotel a good atmosphere. I have never felt for writing a review until now, but this time I really think they deserved one!

"Nice choice"

Nice decent choice when u are in the city of Samos. The staff is very kind and helpfull. Rooms are clean but small. Try to ask for a room with view to the port and try to avoid the rooms that look to the Main Street because they have lite of noise and bad view.

"A pearl in Vathy"
08/07/14 MarinaBen Västerås
A classic Greek family run hotel. We loved the family: genuine, hard working and charming. The location of the hotel is close to the central square but up the hill a bit which allows for a wonderful view of rooftops, mountains and the sea. The view from the pool is stunning. The kitchen makes genuine great Greek food. We ate lunch and/or dinner there every day. We'll go back.
