"Great for a couple"
The hotel was very clean, a nice big bed and bathroom, all that a couple would need. My girlfriend and I loved our stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Park Slope hotel"
Nice location in great area of Park Slope. Very comfortable and clean. Rooms tad small but very adequate for a one night stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is very small, but keep in mind this is New York and this is the size of some apartments in NYC. If you're wanting a getaway where you lounge around in a hotel room and never leave then why did you come to NYC or not book a resort spa? It was very clean, bathroom & sheets were pressed. Conveniently located on Union St. near an R train and a […] 10-15 minute walk to the Atlantic Ave/Barclays Center station (2,3,4,5,B,D,N,Q,R trains). They don't have onsite food accommodations, but the free breakfast is at a cafe around the corner and they have pretty good options and great service. Very well decorated with modern decor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Safe & quiet area. I will definitely return, I think I'd rather spend the same amount of money here than some dumpy hotel in an unsafe area of NY. "Smaller than small"
Our door literally did not open all the way, it hit the bed. The only room for luggage was in the armoir. It was very well decorated but the AC unit went on and off all night and was hot and cold all night. Breakfast was very good at a nearby diner. Asked for a Queen bed, got a full and they said that was all they had, tough for my 6'4 husband.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Could be improved in so many small ways. Guy who checked me in couldn't have given less of a darn and maybe could have taken his head phones off. Every bathroom on the second door had a super loud squeak to it. I could hear it up and down the hall as well as my room. Pretty easy fix guys: WD-40. Rooms are tiny, which was fine, but they insist on adding […] a folding chair in the room which blocks the doors from the bureau opening. Pretty annoying. HVAC units outside room extremely loud. Shelf in bathroom at an angle so nothing would stay on and slid off. I'd only stay here again for the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The rooms are TINY"
The hotel staff is weird and rude and slightly creepy. The rooms are TINY. Just big enough for a bed. Nothing more.Genuine Expedia guest review
First of all I traveled in early I called ahead and asked if I could do early check in after flying into NYC at 6:30am when i got there the front desk guy said no early check in so I wandered around hour a couple of hours. The room is the size of a closet no room 2 move! Then despite clearly having no sleep I was placed2 the room next to the elevator […] translation beeping and luggage scraping and chater needless to say I don't get any sleep. The breakfast place is 4 blocks away! My shower wouldn't produce anything but droplets of water so no sleep no shower! I was very angry! They don't follow the hotels.com page check out time is at 11 even tho it says 12 everywhere else. All I can say positive is that it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was extremely small. As big as my closet. The front desk people were very rude, inconsiderate to not only me but to other guest checking in, and the room service worker were very slow and completely didn't come one of the days. I would never stay here again. Horrible Hotel!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable Bed, Very Small"
I would stay at the hotel again. The staff was very friendly. You are only about 1 block to the subway. The free breakfast is very good but it is not at the hotel it is at a cafe down the street. I didnt mind that. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean but VERY small. I am 5 foot 9 inches and laying down i could touch both walls at once! […] it might be hard for a long stay but i was only there 2 nights and not in the room often so i didnt mind. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small Rooms, No parking"
The location is walkable and the free breakfast is nice. The rooms are very small and beds are very hard. If you plan on driving be prepared to cirlcle around for a whlie to find parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"best hotel bathroom ever"
We read the reviews before we chose to stay here, yes the rooms are small, and clean and comfortable. The views from the roof deck are an amazing 360 degrees. Lots of ice in the basement kitchen. Wonderful spa-like towels. We'll definitely stay here again. The Station Cafe breakfast was very good, I liked the Greek yogurt with fresh fruit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room had no Fridge, Microwave and not even an Iron so it was disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room is SMALL! About the size of my closet at home, but it was spotless and immaculate. The bed and linens were heavenly, the view was incredible, and it was so quiet! It was modern, unique, and a great price. Plus, breakfast at the cafe was delicious. I will definitely be staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not Bad for the Price"
Yea, it's a small room, but what do you expect in NY? I was travelling by myself and this spot was perfectly adequate... Not far from the Subway, not far from the Barclays Center, within easy walking distance of restaurants, etc. --- The room was clear, amenities relatively new, and the staff passably friendly --- I'd stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extremely convenient for the price"
No food on site, but great and clean room very close to the subway. Really enjoyed the experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, small, convenient"
This place was small, no lobby, no real amenities. But the room was fine for what we wanted: a place to crash after running around Brooklyn and Manhattan all day. Desk and cleaning staff were very nice and friendly. On the downside, our room was never cleaned during our four nights there, which means no clean towels. We were out of the room all day, […] every day, for hours at a time, and we would return to see the cleaning staff in the hallway, but our room was never touched. It was a little disconcerting, but we just kind of dealt with it. Overall, if you just want a room to crash in at a place that's convenient to the subway, downtown Brooklyn and Park Slope, it's perfectly fine. As former Brooklynites, we were very familiar with the neighborhood, so we felt safe. It is a neighborhood in transition, and in a few short years it will be very different than it is now. If you're low-maintenance and easy going, this place is just great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Problems this time staying here"
I have stayed at this hotel before and been happy. The rooms are tiny, but clean. This stay was unsatisfactory, however. The room layout of this room was such that a wardrobe (leaning forward a bit dangerously) blocked the door to the hallway. The staff told me that a parking garage was just a block away, and gave me a coupon. The lot was @ 10 blocks […] away and the coupon was outdated. There was a lot of noise from other hotel guests in the halls or foyer. The toilet clogged. The bed was uncomfortable--too soft. I could feel the support bar through the mattress, which essentially kept me on one side of the bed, only. The layout of the bathroom was such that the shower door opened only halfway. I have rated this hotel in the 3-4 range before, but not this time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel room was very tiny but other than that, I had no problems with the room. The staff was friendly. The hotel and the room were very clean. We were not bothered and for the most part it was quiet. The hotel is away from traffic so you don't hear the traffic as you would in Manhattan. The neighborhood is not clean but it is quiet. We weren't bothered […] by anyone even when walking back to our room late at night. We enjoyed the continential breakfast with the restaurant around the corner. There were a lot of options and the service was good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms adequate . But tiny.... Poor bathroom lighting...needs bedside Igniting.... Staff friendly.... Good location....Genuine Expedia guest review
It's a newer almost boutique hotel. Yes they are the smallest rooms ever! But modern bathrooms and very clean. Biggest complaint was no bedside lamp. Had to get out of bed to turn off the ceiling light which I hate ceiling lights. Too bright. And flat screen tv doesn't swivel I had two different rooms and neither one the tv faced the bed so you'd have […] to stand up to watch. And no chair! Telephone is in a drawer! Really small rooms again but this was near my son and I was able to walk into nice areas surrounding. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Awesome location, good breakfast"
Small rooms but clean and comfortable, great location and awesome breakfast. Good for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my short stay, I can't give a full review though since I didn't stay for the breakfast. Sure it's a small room but it did the job. Clean, friendly staff and conveniently located near 5th avenue and all the fun shops, restaurants and cafes it has to offer. Would recommend it to my friends back home in Sweden.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cold, thin walls, not good in winter!"
Windows are drafty, walls are so thin you hear everything in the next room. The staff were all very nice and the breakfast cafe was really good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were barely at the hotel because of the size of the room. It was MINI pocked size! Plus breakfast was a voucher to get a muffin and a coffee in a cafeteria somewhat close to the hotel. Service was great though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good, clean, cheap."
It had what we needed, a clean bed, good shower and a budget friendly price. Good location, near a subway stop and park slope. Go for it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not recommended for business trips"
The hotel's location, staff, and overall condition were fine. Unfortunately, this was a business trip for me, and there were two things in particular that were really tough to work around. First, the "desk" was a side table about the 12x18 and about 30 inches high, and there was a folding chair. This did not make for comfortable conditions to try and […] write/email/etc. There also was no lobby to sit in for this type of work (that I was aware of). Also, there was no iron or ironing board in the room to get ready for work the next day. When I called the front desk, they were very prompt, but were only able to provide a mini-ironing board. I would use this hotel again for vacation, but will not be staying again for business. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Compact but clean"
The hotel was nice enough, everything was clean, but it was close quarters. There is no lobby, so if you're planning on meeting up with friends, pick a nearby restaurant to start the night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price for area and for my needs."
Good location, price and people, good breakfast, have to walk a couple of blocks foe a local cafe, but comes handy since we have to take the sub in union station.Genuine Expedia guest review
Basic hotel in Brooklyn - small rooms but clean. No onsite parking - street parking only. No onsite restaurant - down the street. Cable was very limited - eg no CNN. TV remote was missing from room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I didn't think a room could be so tiny !!"
My wife and I have stayed in nearly a dozen different hotels in Brooklyn. We are always looking for the most competive rates based on cleanliness, room size, and convenience. The rate at the Union Hotel was competive and we hadn't stayed there yet, so we gave it a try. Really, the only positives is that it is in a convenient location near Park Slope […] and The Barclay's Center, and the hostess was friendly. The negatives are too glaring. There is no lobby, just something like a hostess at a podium desk. I could see my breath in the cold elevator. The rooms are the smallest I've ever encountered. I felt like I was in a youth hostel in europe during my backpacking days 30 years ago. The thru-wall heater was literally inches from the bed and it sounded like I was sleeping next to a loud dryer. The cold shower which never got even warm really brought back fond memories of camping in Spain. - You get the idea! Honestly...never again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
goes without saying the price can't be beat. some noise filters through the walls, and the heater thermostat was so sensitive that it seemed to kick on every 5 minutes, and was pretty noisy. But again, considering the price, was well worth it. Would just recommend to the staff to hand out a brochure of info about what hotel includes (had to ask if they […] had ice machine/microwave in the building), and amenities nearby. Turns out there's an indoor rock climbing gym on the same block, that info would have been useful ahead of time for planning purposes (as well as other amenities in the area). great for single person/traveling alone, a couple wouldn't be too bad, but not great for a family. Make sure you don't get a room near a stairwell (banging doors) or front desk (too much foot traffic/noise). Would def recommend! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"it is not an hotel"
The room was to smaaaaaallllll. You open the door and the bed is right there . Did never said in their advertising that you had to leave the building and walk to a cafe 3 blocks away to get your breakfast. Overall I was not satisfy at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A place to sleep, thats about it."
We chose this hotel because we were going to the Barclays Center for a couple of basketball games. It is about a 10-15 minute walk. Not bad at all. There are a couple of hole in the wall bars along the way. The room itself was very clean but also VERY small. It was a small bathroom with a bed, thats it. There wasn't even a path to walk on the side of […] the bed, it was that small. So it is in a great location but definitely just a place to sleep. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Avoid this hotel at all costs! Budget is budget, but this isn't worth it... A cheap room typically means smaller size and less amenities. If you've traveled through Europe on a budget then you know what I mean. However, budget hotels shouldn't include dirty, unwashed and stained sheets and covers, a clogged sink, a staff that is either helpless or has […] attitude and also a list of things promised (and presumably that you pay for) that aren't included (like a safe, minibar, fridge...). The website shows a large lobby, what looks like a bar on a rooftop garden, and also a dining area... don't expect anything like that. Also night security is lax and the walls are thin and some rooms looked literally like they were 3 feet from the front door on the first floor. Glad I was upstairs at least. Save up for a nicer option! Anything! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel value in brooklyn"
The hotel is clean and well located and very affordable. The breakfast is very nice as well. My room was small but was well worth the price. Thank you and we'll see you next time we are in Brooklyn.Genuine Expedia guest review
"solid hotel, sucky cable,"
room was very small...but the kicker was the VERY limited cable tv offering; no local channels, and a spattering of minor cable options.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel room was small (that was to be expected). It was loud! Drunk people coming in at all hours of the night proclaiming (in very loud voices) how drunk they are. Convenient location but horrible night's sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was small, but as described and very inexpensive. Free breakfast at cafe 3 blocks away, good location for access to restaurants and subway. As describedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
TV was high on the wall to the left of the bed. AC/heating unit under the window stuck over the bed by a few inches. Bathroom was oddly huge compared with tiny room. There's only a tiny desk in the lobby and no chairs, so it gets clogged when others are checking in. Staffers in hotel were friendly. Everything was clean. Location is a bit on the edge […] of the heart of Park Slope. Barclay's Center is a few blocks away. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast at nearby diner was wonderful. Extremely small room approx 8 x 10. Bed shoved against a wall with maybe 2 foot aisle on other side. Only way to watch TV was to stand against the door. Clean room but ragged towels. At times unattended lobby. If you need an expensive place to lay your head down, this may be for you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"extremely convenient to NYC's Barclay's Center"
This was a great location for an overnight stay after we attended a concert at the Barclay's Center. The room was very clean and the front desk staff were very polite and helpful. Guests do have to be prepared for the small size of the hotel and the rooms, though. Luckily, my husband and I don't mind being in close quarters with one another! The room […] was so small that we had to negotiate around one another very carefully to move from the bed to the bathroom and back. And, when you're 7 months pregnant, small spaces like this can present even more of a challenge! Also, at initial check-in the front desk person had a little bit of trouble finding the reservation and acted as though he were a bit confused about the hotels.com confirmation number. We got past all that and our stay -- overall -- was quite pleasant. There was a tall wardrobe with multiple drawers in the room, so there was generally sufficient space to put away things. But, in a room this small, some additional well-placed shelving in the sleeping area and in the bathroom, as well as an extra small folding table, wouldn't hurt!
