"Nice two day room."
Nice place in the forest. It was hard to get too and once you where there it was pretty nice. Had its own beach that was just ok. The beach down the road was better. The room was big and roomy the bed was hard though like all the other rooms in Thailand. Yes, I would stay here again.

"Perfect, calm, stylish on the beach"
Everything was perfect!!! Only room for improvement is the hotel restaurant, which need to develop menues and staff in order to make Ban Krating guests stay for lunch and dinner as well. The breakfast buffet is great, however. More fun, better food at less price at Ao Sane, next door.

"Beautiful setting"
This hotel is in a beautiful setting with a nice small secluded beach and walking distance to two other beaches-there is a shuttle as well. My complaint would be the staff did not seem to care about quality of service-seemed indifferent and this is not what we encountered at other hotels in the country. If you want a quiet stay in a jungle atmosphere, you may want to try this.

Baan Krating is in a lovely location, its quite far from everything else in Phuket but if you are looking for somewhere quiet and on teh beach to stay than this is perfect. The room was roomy and clean over looking the ocean. The only bad thing I can say, that it was horrible to see other guests littering the beach with ciggarettes and rubbish as well as taking marine life out of the ocean- starfish and hermit crabs and back to there rooms as momento's. Staff simply watched on- surely they would want to protect their surroundings. I just think that staff should do more to stop this before the beach and surround are ruined.

"Excellent if you want peace and quiet"
It was perfect for what we wanted. Totally remote and away from the loud chaos of Patong, Kata beaches. But it is very far from anything. We rented a motorbike and went to the main strip in Naiharn beach. Most tours pick you up from your hotel anyway but may charge extra due to the distance. Taxi to n any places will cost around 800 baht. We chose the deluxe villa right near the water. it was an amazing view.

great location, in a secluded spot, away from all the over development of Phuket. It has its own private beach/bay which is a real bonus. The food however is not great, one thing I don't understand about these places is that they serve cordials rather than fresh juices, even though the fruits are so easy to get. Anyway great location, clean room, at best average food.

"Not worth the money"
Good location off the beaten path (almost 1k bhat from Phuket Airport). Pretty helpful setting up activities I wanted to do in Phuket, and their bikes are in good condition should you want to rent a scooter. HOWEVER Customer service is terrible. They overcharge for amenities which are NOT worth it. Their staff takes 3 or 4x as long at the restaurant to bring you your order. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and took it apart, it was 3 slices of bread, half a piece of lettuce ripped up, and 1/3 of a piece of a chicken breast. They charged western prices for this, and ALSO charged a % service charge ontop of this. I asked for Mayo, and 20 mins later they came back with mayo squeezed from a Kebab dispenser and charged me for it. I asked for water and it was left on the counter for 10 mins. Eventually I got up and grabbed it myself, and they came over and insisted I pay a service charge. I asked if it was a "service charge" or just a "tax" as i didn't really get served, though I did not contest paying more. She got huffy, walked off, grabbed a menu, threw it down on my table and pointed to the small print about the service charge. For a few bhat I wasn't concerned, but the way they go about doing business is AWFUL. There was another resort just outside the entrance I ended up frequenting for meals and to snorkel and I was DEF more pleased with it (though I do not represent this other resort, and am not going to put its name)

This is my very favourite hotel.if you are seeking a quite beautiful and authentic place then this is the hotel for you.the hotel is very well managed and the staff are helpful and will go out of their way to ensure that you have a good stay.I was particulary impressed with the hotel manager Mr Jirapatchr who was listen to my concern about having a quite room and took imidiate action ensuring that our stay is peaceful and very plesant.when we expressed a desire to visit their sister hotel in Kao lak ,the manger arrange for us to go with mr van who was very helpful and entertaining.this place is truly special and it is lucky for us that it was managed by special staff who are able to appreciate the magis surrounding..i just wish that management take action to make the restaurent more popular by introducing daily "Plat du jour" with prices attractive to the guests. The restaurent position is magnificant and it is a shame that it is not used fully.i also think that reducing internet rates charged by the hotel will encourrage more guests to use it ,therefore increasing revenue. In conclusion it is a hotel that i would love to return to .

"It's a good relax resort"
Room is big and clean but they don't apply the hygiene products, small towels everyday also the big towels were dilapidated. But one day I got two bright and white ones. I wonder if it's due to their tradition, they only swept the floor, no mopping the floors? I stayed there six nights and the people working there were friendly especially the reception .Here I thank you them. Over all it's a good and quiet resort and I enjoyed my holiday by staying there.

Beautiful location if you love the snorkeling and a jungle feel to the place. .the rooms were lovely and clean very spacious only negative was the firm beds but apart from that this is a lovely place would definitely go back, , breakfast not great as nothing was covered up but your only a 5minute scooter ride to some lovely restaurants..the beach is small but it was ideal as it was a quiet little bay and the snorkeling is fantastic here right on the doorstep

There's one good thing: The location. Reservation went through their main office in BKK and was uncomplicated but I had to pre-pay. Upon arrival I was asked to pay in advance ( again ). Only after insisting that I had paid already, the guy was willing to find out about it. Language skills => poor ! We got an upgrade to a spacious, but very worn room which urgently needs a renovation, same valid for the bathroom, where there was mould everywhere. Small TV from last century. Breakfast buffet was ok, but long way to walk to the food. Can't recommend this place.

"So much potential, so much disappointment"

I spent a week here, had to stay an extra day because of plan changes. Lovely setting and view. Meant to be 4 Star Hotel (we paid >$130US night for best room) - on arrival, asked restaurant staff member playing on phone where reception was. He didn't look up from phone and pointed (it was dark and 9pm at night, really could have done with a little more help) - had to find my own menu at restaurant (first 2 times), received one when I called out 3rd time. (didn't go back, it seemed no one ate at restaurant, constantly empty despite another 100m away being constantly full) - TV blaring in restaurant with staff watching most of the time, may have been reason they didn't notice customers - Told to call another number when requesting ice and someone came to my room (might have been nice if they could have organised that) - when seeking to book an extra day, told to do it on Bookings.com, despite standing at reception area talking to Manager about the best deal I could get 'just do it on bookings.com' I dont reallly know' - accommodation is good, great views, but run down and things not repaired. Steel on our balcony a little wobbly and missing couple of bolts for example - wanted to charge ridiculous prices for use of internet when almost every restaurant and hotel in Thailand offers free (lucky I bought my wireless at 7/11 for 1/4 the price!!) Staff cleaning rooms and at front gate very friendly and could be used as champions for Hotel to demonstrate what is required to other staff and how good service could be provided. Such a shame, really love the location of this place but energy/vibe is really poor. Maybe they are happy this way, appears to cater to large Chinese groups who come and go quickly. Low cost approach may work for them, but don't stay if you are looking for more than that Unfortunately these topics where regular conversations with other guests we talked to while staying here too. A kind of Thai Fawlty Towers! If someone could just spend a little time assisting staff and management, the rewards in terms of both occupancy and satisfaction would skyrocket. Don't give up on the place, but look to see if Management/Owners are prepared to make necessary changes, without an intervention soon I have grave fears for this lovely space.

"Mixed impression but mostly good"

We had the cheapest of the pavilion rooms and it was great. Glass walls, great hot shower, great large soft bed with big pillows, silent aircon, and no bugs in the room! Not much bugs or creatures around actually even though its in the "jungle". The beach is small but great, not many people there, and its fantastic for snorkeling! The fish is right there at your feet. Also good massage for 400 baht on the beach. The pool is nice and no people so you have space. Only downside is that the service isn't great, especially in the restaurant, and the food we tried was ok at best. You have to walk 10-15 minutes to other restaurants, we liked the one by the yacht club, the others in the area looked A bit shady. Taxies dont find the place or charge extra because of bumpy road. Resort should be helpful with pick up from main Nai Harn beach or something. They do have free shuttle to nai harn during daytime, but we went there to eat at night and would then walk in the dark. All in all the resort is quiet and nice except for the food and some of the services. Would recommand to pay 500 baht more A night for A pavilion room, its worth it. Breakfast was ok but not great, roomcleaning was good. Be prepared that most staff dont speak english, but there is one lady at reception who does..

"Little value!"
01/29/15 Kenneth W
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but compared to the prices they charge, there are many options in Phuket that are better. Rooms: Clean and spacy, but the exterior looked quite run down. Could use an upgrade. Staff: Average polite staff. Way to bad English for a hotel of this size and standard. The hotel area: The hotel has a small private beach with a beach bar, this place holds a lot of potential, but is not utilized. There is not any tables and chairs by the beach bar so one could take a lunch in the shade. Small things like this add up to the hotel not reaching its potential. Location: Secluded, romantic area, not to far away from a more populated beach.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights! It was impossible to find .. We had a taxi driver that had lived in Phuket all his life and he had never heard or seen this place! Eventually we got there and we were upgraded (yay)! The room was beautiful .. All glass doors (gold fish bowl). The bath room was beautiful as well! Had dinner there .. Food was good but portions were very very small (child size)! The only down fall was you had to buy the wifi which wasn't very good either! Would highly recommend this hotel!!

"Relaxing Escape From Busy Patong"
01/15/15 Melissa N Brisbane, Australia
After spending the first four days of our holiday staying in busy Patong, moving to Baan Krating was a relaxing escape. The resort is in a wonderful location. It feels isolated but really it is only a short drive to near by Nai Harn beach. We spent our time swimming at the small private beach (shared with Baan Krating guests and guests from the Aoe Sane bungalows next door), visiting Nai Harn beach and the surrounding area (using the free shuttle service provided by the resort) and also sitting on our balcony listening to the waves (we were in the beach front pavilion room). Although I very much enjoyed staying here I am giving it a four star rating simply because of a few small issues. Firstly, although the room was large, spacious, well decorated and the bathroom quite large, unfortunately the shower had mould growing in the grouting and although the toilet seat was clean, it was old and stained and needed replacing. Secondly, although the breakfast buffet had a large variety of food to choose from, the food was often cold because the one flame underneath each serving area wasn't able to maintain a high enough heat. To combat this we simply chose food from sections that had been recently refilled. Also if you asked for fried eggs they were able to make those for you to order. Even though there were two issues during our stay that did not make this review five star, this resort is marketed as a three star hotel and for a three star hotel this place was pretty amazing! If we ever return to Thailand I would not hesitate to stay here again. Also if you are staying in the Nai Harn area and are looking for places to eat out, The Coconut Cafe with a view of the beach served delicious cheap food. Also the M.M Pizzeria served amazing authentic Italian food and is run by an Italian couple. It is packed every night with people so if you don't want to wait for a seat you should get there before 7pm.

"Nice but not as luxurious as it wants to be "
12/31/14 Susslan Gothenburg, Sweden
The hotel is located a bit off which adds to its jungle feeling and it's calmness. Our room was beautiful and clean but the outside of the house was quite run down and it was quite far to the beach. The bungalows were nice as well but don't seem to have been renovated as recently and the rooms were a bit smaller. They have much shorter way to the beach and you can really hear the waves at nights. The restaurant has good food but is somewhat expensive, also the there are not many Thai dishes to choose from, which is a shame. One other thing that was a bit disturbing was that they don't have any real fresh fruit juices, which is something that at least I want to have on my tropical vacation. Breakfast is buffet style and has the usual- eggs, toast, vegetables, fruit and some hot dishes. HOWEVER you can ask the nice staff if you want to have some other type of eggs and also ask for croissants. The staff were super sweet and they made our stay worth while. Also the snorkelling was nice. There is not much corals but a lot of reef fish!

Very relaxing and right on the beach in the jungle. Tricky to get to but that makes it feel exclusive and quiet. Hired a scooter as it is too far to walk to other beaches and restaurants. We stayed in thatched huts but there is other options if that isn't your style.

Actually i visited this resort at the early May of 2011. Do this is a late report. What can i say? The resort is situated at a unique locatio. It is really hidden. You have to pass through a private road to get to hotel..The resort is located among a luss plantation, reminds a mangrove forest. Bungalows are clean, well maintained and spacius. Hotel grounds superb. The resort atmosphere leeds you to a fairy tail of a hidden world. The beach is great ( for phuket) thgouth its small..The pool was small but really attractive. Drawbacks: The beach bar in May was deserted. The sea was rough. The visibility really limited. No sun beds directly on the sand.
