The positives: location is central, right near ski bus; the included breakfast is great before a day on the slopes; the room was spacious. The negatives: the beds are HARD; the room we had (room 106) with a "Matterhorn view" only had a view when walking out onto the patio when you were then staring into the breakfast area (could not see Matterhorn from room!); the front desk service was hit or miss - very rude when we arrived but great when we left.

Just a nice place to stay. Very nice people rooms are fun and very clean. Maybe the fact that you cannot control the heat in the room was a drag. As long as you keep the balcony door open to cool down the room you will be ok. Great spa and outside jacuzzi. Good ski room with boot heater in each closet nice touch in the morning before you go to ski. Just don't go ski in the Italienne side. We got stock there 1 night in a unconfortable hotel. They close the gondola for no reason ( nothing to do with the hotel) and if you dont have 700 euros to go back via taxi to zermatt you are done!!!! great hotel. We will be back.

Everything was great. Location was great for skiing. The hotel staff picked me up at the bus station and dropped me off as well at no charge - and my outbound trip was at 6am. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.

Location.
Situated in Zermatt, Hotel Bijou is in the mountains and close to Sunnegga Ski Resort, Schwarzsee, and Gorner Ridge. Also nearby is Gornergrat Infrared Telescope.

Hotel Features.
Hotel Bijou has a sauna and ski-in/ski-out access. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Dining options at this Zermatt hotel include a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast each morning. The staff can provide tour/ticket assistance and tour assistance. Additional amenities include a terrace, an arcade/game room, and multilingual staff. This is a smoke-free property.

Although the hotel is not directly situated inside the town center, Hotel Bijou is a hidden gem in the lovely Zermatt. Nestled right up against the... Matterhorn, this hotel boast magnificent views. Almost surreal in that you feel as if you are living inside a postcard. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for rest and relaxation, whether you are traveling with a friend or significant other. I understand the hotel is more busy during the winter season when tourists flock to the mountains, however, during the spring it was a nice surprise to not be bombarded with other guests. However, you may not even know how many other guests are staying there because each room feels private and secluded and spacious. The hotel manager and staff were incredibly helpful and delightful. The breakfast, had an array of breads, yogurts, jams, and drinks to choose from neatly displayed. The food at the hotel is amazing, you don't have to even leave if you don't want to venture into town. Although if you do, it is an easy short walk, as long as you don't have too much luggage. I would highly suggest this hotel to anyone who is looking for a comfortable stay, clean rooms, amazing views, great service. I want to go back again already. The Hotel Bijou is "out of the way" of the town, it is about a 20 minute walk, uphill through the city. The Gondola to Klein Matterhorn runs near the hotel, but this is not "in-town". The staff has trouble with English unless you talk to the son, Andre, he speaks fluent English and made a dinner reservation for us. This hotel is great for a guys week, […] but a woman might not like the accomidations. The view from our room was of the city, but the other side of the hotel and the breakfast room have wonderful views of the Matterhorn. Read more

I stayed three nights in the four-person apartment on the top floor with my husband and his parents. The apartment is very spacious and has a cosy chalet feel. It has a kitchen, a large balcony with a fantastic view of the Matterhorn and a spa bath in the bathroom. The only problem is the room and bed setup. There is a double bedroom plus a room with […] a single bed and another single bed in the lounge. This would be fine for a family with kids but not ideal for two couples. Also the ceiling in the bathroom is low so it's difficult for tall people to shower. The service is very friendly and the continental breakfast is great, with bircher muesli, cheese, cold meats, fresh croissants and homemade bread. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk above the town - easy unless you've got too much luggage or are not very mobile. Hotel Bijou was much cheaper than similar places we looked at in Zermatt. Close to one of the lifts up the mountain, so able to use our limited time in Zermatt to ride to the top to enjoy the view. Im Grunde genommen alles ok. Positiv: Gutes Frühstück in schöner Atmosphäre. gute Lage, Nahe der Kl.Matterhornbahn. Zimmerausstattung war zweckmäßig, mehr nicht. Kann das Hotel aber durchaus weiterempfehlen.

It was in the hill of depeest Zermatt and very difficult to find. No directions even near the right street. Google map said 1.2km from station but it seems lot longer and takes 25min or more by walk.recommend to use taxi or bus.
