Clean adequate room. Very good cooked to order breakfast. Obliging staff, even to the point of fetching a newspaper from the shop across the road. I used this hotel as a stop off on a trip down from Aberdeen on a Friday. The room was above the bar and the music was very loud all the way to 12-30. This is a pub with rooms above and guests are left without any on site staff during the night. This could be a problem for the elderly and disabled as the only available egress is a flight of stairs. When I challenged the staff next morning about the noise I was told “To use ear plugs” They provide tea – coffee – toiletries perhaps they should also provide the ear plugs. Read more

Last minute booking as we were let down by another hotel close by. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality at the Village Inn. Usual amenities, TV, kettle, en-suite. Food was excellent - the fish and chips were huge! Only think I could find fault with was position of socket/mirror not in right place for drying my hair.
