Very nice hotel but it is off the beaten track - not easy to get to and it's away from any of the interesting places in Accra. Hotel staff are very helpful, though, to get you where you want to go. TERRIFIC internet connection, beautiful pool, nice rooms. Food is good quality but service is VERY slow - especially the bar.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff and management were great. I travel around the world on business and the service I received was top rated. The only draw back was the traffic getting to the hotel. But I will stay there again in the future. I met the owners and they treated me like family. Food was great and service was excellent.

1) The Aknac Hotel does not deserve even 2 - star. 2) The Aknac Hotel is not absolutely near the centre of Accra. Local tourist attractions such as National Theatre of Ghana, Accra International Conference Centre and Ghana State House, Ohene Djan Stadium, Independence Square (Black Star Square) and National Museum of Ghana. Due to road condition and […] heavy traffic The Aknac Hotel is not easily within reach of City Center. The cost of Ciy Center travel is almost expensive because the only transportation option is by taxi and taxis are not clean and comfortable (most of the taxis do not turn on air condition) 3) There is no hair dryer at the rooms 4) There is no tennis court(s) as a other hotel amenities 5) Elevator is still under construction 6) Food at the restaurant is not good enought for 4-Star hotel (as The Aknac Hotel announces itself) 7) Water pressure may change so much and taking a shower can be a real problem 7) Staff are nice and kind but they are not qualified enought so it may cause serious problems as serving a coke as diet (sugar free) by the colour of the Coca Cola label colour infact it is regular cola with a lot of sugar in it and it is written at the lid of the cola as an inegridents very clearly. Very good location with good ambience. Location is away from the noisy environment of Central Accra. It is however not far from the city center. I am impressed with the service quality of the hotel staff and the general ambience of the place. The management should however instal a Point of Sale Machine that accepts Mastercard.

The Aknac hotel is a new, modern and very artistic hotel ran by an English family who are very much visible and available to attend to your every need giving that personal touch. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The rooms are very spacious and well equiped. The swimming pool is not too cold, clean and a much needed coolant in that hot sun. […] The food is excellent serving a range of local and international dishes which are both great value for money yet still very tasty. The restaurant would open at any time to serve our group of 11 a great meal even during the early hours of the morning after a night out which I have never experienced elsewhere. The hotel provides a drop off and pick up service for the airport. The location of the hotel is not close to local amenities but to be honest this wasn't a problem as the hotel provided everything we needed and helped source what we needed if they couldn't provide it. I personally preferred the hotel being slightly out of central Accra because we did not get any hassle coming to anf from the hotel like we did when visiting other areas more central. The airport transfer fro a late night arrival was very nice and staff were uniformly friendly, professional and helpful. The internet worked both in the room and in all public spaces. Son't expect to be able to walk anywhere. There are no little shops, no groceries, around the hotel except private residences. If you are meeting people for meetings the […] Aknac is great. It is quiet with many nooks and crannies for small three - 5 person talks. There are many restaurants within a 7 - 10 minute taxi ride except during rush hour. The airport is 10 - 15 minutes when going counter to traffic or late at night and 45 - 60 minutes during the morning traffic rush. For the current price the Aknac is slightly overpriced, considering everything. But I will use it again since Accra is underserved with decent, clean efficient hotels. One does, however, get the impression that the management is preparing to complete the fitness center, open the spa, add a few more bells and whistles and then raise prices. But until then, enjoy it. Unless your work takes you downtown every day this is a great place to stay. Read more

I must say this hotel can be described as a beautiful secret haven nestled on the outskirts of Accra away from the hustle bustle. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, she is […] very friendly, approachable, low key and always ready to help. The rooms are always kept clean and the housekeepers are very pleasant. The hotel staff in general are very pleasant with the exception of a couple that are not so pleasant, but this is not a reflection of the hotel, just the individual. I also liked that it offers some of the same conveniences of a Guest House and you can speak to the owner who will consider accommodating requests, of course within reason. I was very pleased; when the owner considered the requests I had asked and as a result made my stay even more pleasurable. I really appreciated her consideration. They are still working on expanding the hotel to offer more entertainment, but they offer different scenic dining options. The pool is gorgeous and poolside service is available if you want to eat outside. The restaurant does have very good choices of menu items, we ate there a few times and we also had the convenience of eating from local restaurants, and when compared to the hotel, the local restaurants offered more portions of food, this was very important to my husband because he needs to have his tummy full, for women this may not matter. Small clean, quiet, comfortable hotel. Not particularly boutique as described in its own literature. It has a very basic room comforts including a very small screen TV with no international news channels, no drinking water which would be expected as one is warned not to drink the tap water. Hotel was great from the moment we were collected from the airport in a complimentary taxi. Checked in at 11pm very hot. Just mentioned to my wife that I was thirsty and two drink arrived from the bar. Bar and restaurant service is irritatingly slow but seems to be normal practice in Ghana. The staff were great. The hotel rooms are small with little or no furniture. Choices on the food menu where restricted with some items not avaliable for the whole two weeks I spent there. The lift was out of service the whole time as well. The pictures on the internet look very good but you will be disapointed if you expect what you see. Lovely Hotel, It is far enough away from the centre of Accra so it is very peaceful. I really good place to stay for a few nights whilst waiting to catch a plane out of Ghana. The staff are lovely, friendly and only to willing to help no matter what time of day it is.
