      I was staying in a superior room with a double bed. My suite was very clean, with new furniture and nice modern bathroom. The color theme of the room was red + white. The room furniture had classical style. The water pressure in the shower was high, so I could shower fast and convenient. My big complain about the room was that the drainage of water in the bathtub was broken, and so water was going down very slowly and therefore I had to take shower half way up to my knees in dirty soapy water. Already the next day somebody came in to remove the part, which controls how fast water goes down, and so the problem disappeared. Also I did not appreciate the light switch system in my room: every time I had to switch randomly all the switches to find the right one. When nobody is in the room (the key card is not in the special slot), everything powers down (including electrical outlets), which saves energy but I could not charge my laptop while being away from my suite. The hotel is located in the center of the city with plenty of non expensive cafes around, including a pie place which (I think) works 24 hours a day. A subway station is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. Wi-Fi Internet worked just fine and was fast but it did require periodic reactivation of the connection.

      The advantages of the hotel: the rooms are impressively clean and nice for the price. Everything in my room looked new and polished. The color theme of my room was green. The room had a double bed (actually 2 single bed put together with a double mattress merging them), 2 chairs, a table, an LCD TV on a wall in front of the bed (did not try to watch it), a large wardrobe, and a large mirror. The hotel is located very close to the famous Spas-na-krovi cathedral - it is almost around the corner. The walking distance to the nearest subway station ("Nevsky Prospekt") is about 10 minutes. The total time it takes to get to the airport Pulkovo-1 is about an hour (walk, line 2 of the subway, bus #39). Disadvantages: the room temperature control did not work - I tried to set the temperature to over 30C, but could not make my room any warmer (but it was pretty warm already). The water pressure in the shower cabin was low, so it was taking me longer than usual to take shower. The system of light switches in the room takes a few minutes to figure out. The first time I could not get into my room since the front desk forgot to activate my key card. The table in the room was not quite even, so my laptop was not wobbling while typing only in a specific orientation.

      We felt that this was one of the better hotels we had ever stayed at and the bar at night was lively with entertainment. The rooms were comfortable and the layout of the hotel was very nice. The service was excellent. The only drawback is that they state they have an indoor pool but it was more like the size of a whirlpool for bathing. If you are looking for a real pool, this is not the hotel for you! The location was perfect and the city is beautiful!

    it is a Soviet type hotel with rooms that are not new and not very comfortable, but clean and staff was very helpful - gave us an umbrella, helped with directions, provided information, etc. But excellent location, just a few minutes from the metro station, not far from all key sights on Nevskiy and very reasonable price for the location

    The hotel was at good location near the Moscov station and the best (modern and large) shopping center but the hotel staff was rude and unhelpful so I cannot recommend this hotel at all. There are many better hotels in the same area to choose from. We had ordered a room for two adults from non-smoking side but they had none left, so they put us in […] a single room and brought there a extra bed with springs. And they had the nerve to say that in their hotel economy twin room means single room with extra spring bed. I have never heard anything so ridiculous. And they also excluded us from the breakfast altough everyone else in the hotel had the breakfast included. But the breakfast looked bad too so we probably did not miss much.     The hotel is conveniently located for those who are on a business trip for a few days. It's ok but nothing special. It's a 3* hotel but definately not 4*. The room was clean but poor, don't think that the hotel should charge 100RUB for Wi-Fi per day especially when there's a small coverage zone and you cannot get wi-fi in a bar or a restaurant. Гостиница «Октябрьская» - это элегантная и комфортабельная гостиница в центре Санкт-Петербурга у Московского вокзала на пересечении Невского и Лиговского проспектов, где находятся музеи, театры, крупнейшие магазины и рестораны. Близость […] расположения гостиницы к метро. Очень удобно для путешествия в Финляндию, экскурсионные автобусы останавливаются за углом отеля. Комфортабельные номера, отвечающие современным требованиям, оснащены телефоном, холодильником, спутниковым телевидением (ТВ – ЖК), доступом к сети Интернет. Высокие потолки исторического здания и большие номера. В ванной комнате фен. Высокий уровень обслуживания. Очень приятно, что был забронирован Лиговский корпус, а нам предоставили номер в главном Октябрьском без доплаты, и утром милая девушка оператор предупредила об этом. Если отметить минусы отеля, это деревянные рамы, что очень удивило для отеля 4 звезды, спать не возможно из-за шума с улицы, а это был 5 этаж, возможно, мы привыкли тишине.     Бронировался отель в последний момент в среду на выходные с пятницу по воскресенье. При этом на рецепшене мест не оказалось ни в основном здании, ни в Лиговоском корпусе, а в hotels.com аж целых три двухместных номера. Отель удобно расположен, через дорогу от вокзала, в начале Невского - удобно начинать путешествие. Номера старые однако не опшарпанные […] и разбитые. Наш номер был №419 из окна открывался чудесный вид на пл. Восстания, кроме того номер имеет небольшой балкончик, потрясающий вид на питерские проспекты. Завтраки не брали, т.к. рядом безумное количество точек общепита. Из недостатков: тусклый свет в номере, жесткий матрац, тонкая подушка и грязновато окно (вероятно после зимы не мыли) Read more

    Старенькое, но довольно опрятное здание, содержится в хорошем состоянии. Номер у нас был очень просторный и светлый. Довольно чистый (за исключением верхних полок шкафа - видимо горничные низкого роста и пыль там банально не видят :)) ) Из лобби гостиницы есть прямой доступ в кафе Du Nord - очаровательное место со вкусной едой и любезным персоналом. […] Очень удобно, что гостиница расположена прямо напротив вокзала. Из минусов могу отметить, что, к сожалению, на кроватях поверх нормального матраса зачем-то положен матрас из поролона толщиной сантиметров 10. Так как останавливались на одну ночь, убирать не стала, и, к счастью, спина утром ничего не сказала, но в принципе это единственная значительная претензия к номеру. Отель в "советском" стиле, но комнаты просторные, с прихожей, второй дверью, что практически позволяет не слышать шум из коридора.     The hotel was at good location near the Moscov station and the best (modern and large) shopping center but the hotel staff was rude and unhelpful so I cannot recommend this hotel at all. There are many better hotels in the same area to choose from. We had ordered a room for two adults from non-smoking side but they had none left, so they put us in […] a single room and brought there a extra bed with springs. And they had the nerve to say that in their hotel economy twin room means single room with extra spring bed. I have never heard anything so ridiculous. And they also excluded us from the breakfast altough everyone else in the hotel had the breakfast included. But the breakfast looked bad too so we probably did not miss much.     Schönes altes Gebäude, sehr nette Personal, alle kleine Mängel wurden sofort in Ordnung gebracht. Leider der Teppich ist sehr alt und sieht nicht gut aus. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut und alle wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind leicht erreichbar, was ist in Sankt Petersburg sehr wichtiger , als vieles anderes.

    Отель "Октябрьская" состоит из двух корпусов - они расположены практически напротив друг-друга. Мне довелось остановиться в малом. Номера эконом-класса чистые, с новым ремонтом, новой мебелью. В номере телевизор, мини-бар (пустой), есть розетки. Фена нет. Полотенца, постель меняют регулярно. Кипяток приносят по телефонному звонку в 2-литровых термосах. […] На первом этаже есть ресторан. Цены высоки, обслуживание оставляет желать лучшего - персонал работает очень медленно. Но пекут отменное, очень вкусное печенье. Очень советую. Оба корпуса отеля находятся напротив метро "Площадь Востания" и крупнейших в Питере торговых комплексов Галерея и Стокман. По центру советую передвигаться на наземном транспорте - быстрее. Остановка также рядом. В пешей доступности находятся Казанский Собор, Малый Театр, Театр комедии и Ленсовета. Множество кинотеатров, кафе и ресторанов. Вход-выход в отель круглосуточно без проблем. Разрешают посещение гостей. Поскольку в отеле жил по очень выгодной акции - мне это обошлось намного дешевле, чем средние цены по Питеру в гостиницах такого класса. Read more

    Este hotel fica no principal ponto de St. Petersburg: Perto da estação de trem, metro, shopping e da Nevskiy Prospect. Porém o hotel é mal sinalizado e díficil de se ver. A região dele parece abrigar prostituição e consumo de drogas. A recepcção é muito estranha. O quarto são bem grandes, porém as camas são extremamente macias.
