Well managed hotel - very friendly and accommodating staff. Food choice was somewhat limited, but adequately compensated by a variety of options in the city which is about a couple of miles away.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms a bit small but clean and highly functional. Big bonus is access to excellent gym next door. Can be busy near the holiday season as they have a lot of holiday/office parties, but the noise level from the revellers has not been too bad!

Overall, it's a fairly nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. My family (wife and two teenagers) were spending two nights in Nottingham for a meeting I had there, before going to London and Paris for a vacation. When we arrived, we found out that our rooms were not adjoining or side by side, even though we had clearly requested them to be, when we made our reservation a month before. They were finally able to move both to the same floor, but this should never have been an issue, and my wife was not pleased. They then asked how I would like to pay for the stay, even though we had prepaid through Hotels.com. Other than taking the room reservation notice from Hotels.com, they clearly do not read the customer requests or update the fact that the rooms are paid for, in their system. After a long flight, the last thing you're looking for is an issue at the hotel. They need to get their act together.

Very fun environment but if you plan to go to bed or have a conversation it might be hard cause its on top of a bar!! But the food was amazing!!!!! And... the entertainment was great! Nice pint and carvery. Just a few minutes from the motorway (but far enough away not to hear it) which made it deal for a stop off on a long drive. Single room was really small, but it was very cheaply priced and idea for what I needed for a stop over.

This is a great pub and the carvery food looked great although i had eaten prior to arriving. The pub / restraunt has regular late music nights so if you need an early start maybe check to see whats on first. My dissapointment lay in the bathroom area. The metal soap tray was absolutely filthy and had dried up old soap in it. I was also very surprised […] to find a previous occupiers body hair on the tile walls ! not a good thing ! in my opinion cleaner needs a word or two. For what i paid i feel greatly over charged as this excluded breakfast and to be honest the room was tiny. have stayed in my opinion in much better places for less money. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful - when we couldn't get taxi's for our group for love or money the owner made some calls and managed to arrange some for us, and when only one arrived he drove us to our destination in his own car! Top man!!!..... Rooms were well priced, clean and nicely decorated and free Wi-Fi. I can also recommend […] the cooked breakfast- its well worth paying the extra for a good plateful of grub to set you up for the day! A great little find and would use again when in the area. Having arrived just after 10pm to check in was 'greeted' by a very rude landlord that informed us checkin was until 9pm but nothing was stated in the information... although the pub was open it seemed a real possibility that he would turn us away. He then asked what rate we had paid and then informed us that it was a room only rate and breakfast would […] NOT be included even though it stated so on our email from hotels.com he eventually agreed to include breakfast aftyer I stood my ground. After a good nights sleep we went downstairs to be 'greeted' by the same rude landlord and told we could not have breakfast unless we paid. That he had a text from hotels.com to say it was there mistake, asking to see it he then decided it was from his 'brother' and at that point we decided to leave feeling very disappointed. The staff at this Hotel were wonderful in helping plan and excicute a supprise birthday weekend away for my partner. The room was perfect cosey clean well presented. The food was great. Brilliant atmoshere and really fantastic staff.

The food at this hotel, especially the Carvery is fantastic value for money as well as tasting delicious. The hotel caters very well for the local community as well as making visitors welcome, plenty of entertainment of a weekend for all tastes.
