The Sulô Riviera Hotel - Quezon City

Hotel was an unexpected choice but after staying there, it was really worth it. Hotel was popping with weddings, Christmas parties and very lively atmosphere. Location is near a few large malls. The only down side, check in and check out procedure could not have been worst. Be prepared to wait 20-30 mins.

I thought the staff was very friendly, always saying hello. the look of the lobby and resteraunt area was outstanding. The breakfast , dinners i ate there were outstanding!! dont miss breakfast!! bad things, internet cost is rediculous! 300 per hour, there is a McDonalds across the street free wifi, and internet cafe' a block away 17 pecos an hour. […] drinks at the bar after happy hour are 3 times the cost compared to local bars. rooms are small , but if you can afford the junior suite..its nice! This is a hotel with designer style decor, small hotel with 71 rooms, no lift. Th e furniture are a little run down compare to my first stay 3 years ago. The management should look into maintenance program to maintain new look (paint, varnish etc) and consider installing sound proof window. Overall stay was satisfactory.

Second time stayed at this hotel as a Business Traveler due to their location to my customer and it has really gone down hill, they cater to so many Parties/Events and Weddings that you are kept up till Midnight with the noise of the Live bands, Drums or Music. I did not have Hot Water in my Shower for 3 days and each day I would asked to be moved to […] another room with hot water and they said they would fix it instead, well each day they said it was fixed and again I would take a ice cold shower till I finally met the maintenance man and had them look at it and they fixed the problem in 2 minuets! Also DO NOT ORDER DINNER in the Hotel restaurant unless you have 2 hours to wait, we ate there 3 times and never got our meal even started without sitting there for at least 60 minuets, it was the slowest kitchen ever and there was no other tables ordering at the time? The hotel looks nice after the renovation but I am not impressed with the service of the hotel. Facilities are lacking: no blow dryer in the bathroom - if you need one, you have to ask. Towels looked old and dirty. They do not provide internet or WiFi: they charge 200 pesos for 1 hour or 600 pesos for 24 hours!! Staff was excellent, friendly and reminded me of being on a Cruise ship, the Hotel looks brand new because they just renovated it, the surrounding neighborhood was very safe and the people were very friendly because this is not a tourist location so there are no one trying to get your money, you are left completely alone as you walk the streets and […] I am a large 6' 5" White guy so I stick out. The Sulo is a great looking hotel, and in this respect I cannot fault it. But 'using' the hotel can be challenging. My wife had no dressing table and no hair drier. There is no shelf space, so I used the safe as a shelf to store my shirts! When using the sink in the bathroom, it will splash water all over you - stand well back! The Hotel, in the area it rests, is by far superior to it's surroundings and is very close to many financial business environments. It is very well kept and far as style and elegance and also most of the staff are pretty attentive. OK that was the good, now the not so good. Being a business man, very busy that is, for the price of the room I was expecting […] Internet to be included, but it was not accept supposedly in their public areas of which I do not desire because of privacy issues, so at the tune of Php600 or about $12 per day, I had no choice but to pay. Other issue which totally blew my mind was I paid for a room with a breakfast buffet included for two and my second morning I was extremely busy on my 600 a day cost for private Internet and ran down stairs to grab 2 cups of coffee for my wife back in the room because we knew we would miss the already paid for breakfast and was told upon my arrival that I could not have anything from the buffet back to my room. I stated, excuse me, I am only asking for 2 cups of coffee and believe it or not, I was told to call room service of which I did at the tune of php375 or almost $4.50 per cup. Ridiculous! It is for mainly the hotel's lack of concern for my simple desires, of which certainly not of put them out of business, and their endless extra charges that I would have a hard time recommending this hotel to someone not prepared for extras on anything you normally are comped in other establishments. Overall the hotel is OK, nothing great and maybe a little expensive for the price. One misgiving we had during our stay was that it was the Grand Opening night of the hotel. The front desk staff cordially invited us to attend the dinner and festivities but we had a very early morning (marathon day the following day) and said thanks - but no thanks. […] Know how noisy things will be - we requested for a room away from the location of the main festivities - the front desk lady smiles and says OK - but our room was well within the noise distance of the festivities!! A good night's sleep? Not that evening! Breakfast was included for our room stay. Food was not good at all! Wish we just walked over to the McDonald's place across the street! Staff was courteous.
