I had a great and comfortable stay... and the location in Manhattan is great if you want easy walking access to Chelsea Market, the high line, the Meatpacking district and the West VIllage.

Beautiful architecture and extremely gorgeous lighting. The cluster of hand-blown orbs of differing sizes and bronzy/milky color hanging from pendants over the lobby area has a mesmerizing, celestial feel. Port hole windows and optical quality convex mirrors are very nice. We thought we were booking a premium room with Jacuzzi tub, yet the (small) room's […] bath had only a shower stall. The flimsy stainless steel sink in the bath was simply trying-too-hard-to-be-hip and ends up being simply tacky --faucet handle is just waiting to poke an eye if you lean too far forward. Cocktails overpriced (17.50 scotch and soda?), as were 2 breakfasts (2 eggs with toast and potatoes, french toast, coffee x 2), served very slowly for no apparent reason with cold, dried out toast for nearly fifty dollars. Tent card in the room warning that if you move anything, a motion sensor will charge your bill was offensive. Brought dessert to enjoy late at night, couldn't make room in refrigerator for fear we'd rack up charges for moving beverages we didn't consume out of the way. Unasked-for 6:30am wake up call disruptive. Public restroom serving main floor was long walk and downstairs. On plus side, some personnel welcoming and helpful, bed was oh-so comfortable and dressed in silky, crisp white sheets, rainfall shower with round ceramic tiles on the floor felt great. But unless we stop in to have a look at the lobby lighting, we won't be back. Read more

Nice trendy place to stay. The room could have been more cozy, but the vibe of the hotel is a modern feel with cement floors and metal sinks, etc. I did appreciate that we were able to receive an upgrade for my birthday and when we came back to our room for the evening there was a complimentary bottle of champagne with a nice note wishing me a happy […] birthday. That was very thoughtful.Even thought the upstairs club had a long line to get into (we ended up not going because waiting in line is not my thing)...the bar downstairs was packed with people and there was a dj spinning good music, so we had a drink there, which was less pretentious and more relaxing, although still provided a swanky atmosphere. AFTER I booked the hotel with what I thought was a good rate, I started to read the reviews. Thought the reviews had to be exaggerated. It can't be that there could be so many things wrong with a hotel? Suely they would be fixed with so many complaints? Wrong on both counts. Do not stay here unless you like overpriced, small rooms in a dom-like atmosphere.....unclean […] rooms and hallways, doors naging all night, heard snores from one side and every ounce of locker room gossip from the two men next door. The service was terrific and the room great - we were totally satisfied until the base music reverberated through the hotel and our bones until 5am. Sleep was impossible. Stay in the other wing of the hotel!

Loved this hotel. Will stay here again. Every staff member was so happy and helpful. The rooms were very small but clean and comfortable. Restaurants were excellent (especially Cherry). lots of shopping, restaurants, gallerys, and nightlife all in walking distance. And free wi-fi...what more can you ask for!?

Overall the hotel was clean and neat. However the room is a bit small and gives a bit of an uncomfortable feeling. Although I enjoy boutique hotels for their progressive design, but this one was a bit over the top with the submarine feel they were going for. If you dont mind that kind of thing, the room was good enough.

We stayed on the 7th floor and it was as quiet of a room as we have had. The rooms are very modern and very nice. The staff could not have been more helpful and just very nice. We could not have asked for more from our room or the hotel.

Absolutely overrated. Room was incredibly small with few creature comforts. Sink was "trendy" and non functional not to mention didn't drain very well. Shower was tiny, mattress was lumpy. The mini bar in the room was EXTRAORDINARILY priced. The wine glasses weren't even crystal. Overall very dissappinted.

If they noticed us looking confused, they approached and asked if they could help. They gave us great tips on restaurants too. The room was relatively small, but was so well done and laid out that it was a non-issue. I really enjoyed the room. We were on the second floor and got no noise from the lobby bar. However, we were on the street, so there was noise from the street at night. This, of course, is to be expected. This hotel feels like im going to a posh lounge. Great service and good food. My only critique is the nightclub on top - did they hire bartenders or models to make the drinks? The person who made our drink looked amazing but the drink itself was terrible. Stick with the lobby bar for good drinks.
