This hotel was the final stop on our one-month trek thru Australia and New Zealand. It was a fine hotel with friendly people (none of whom were New Zealanders) and clean comfortable rooms. The resturant in the hotel served the best meal we had in NZ. The only negative was the location. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping and entertainment areas and inconvenient to the various bus routes. Being situated atop one of Auckland's many hills, it was a tough walk up hill at the end of the day.

Having stayed at a bunch of high-end B&Bs during our 2.5 week honeymoon in New Zealand, we can honestly say that Enclosure Bay was among the best, if... not the very best. The views from our balcony (where we had breakfast served one day) were absolutely stunning. Andy was the perfect host: he was more than happy to provide transportation to some activities, had very helpful recommendations (including for a scenic flight around the island), and had an overall effervescent personality that was a delight to be around. The house is chic and modern, but also very comfortable, featuring an outdoor hot tub and an extensive DVD selection (including the entire James Bond series ) available to borrow. AMAZING!!!!! From when u walk in to all the modern amenities to the breathtaking views. The owners take such excellent care of u. Picking u up at the ferry to making reservations and suggestions. This is such a fun island!! Winetasting and restaurants.

Andy, the host, went out of his way to help us do what we wanted to - walking, bird-watching, and wine-tasting; and we can't say enough about how marvelous he and his wife, the room and hotel space and the location in general. Enclosure bay accommodation must be one of Waiheke's most beautiful and most wonderful. Location wise gives it an vantage point of the most amazing memorable views from sunrise to sunset. Accommodation and rooms are to an extremely high standard, very clean, comfortable, nicely appointed - simply we could not have wanted anything more.
