My stay was so disappointing. We were a military family that was PCSing out of Hawaii and looking forward to spending our last weeked in what appeared to be a very exotic location away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. IT was not what we were expecting. It was a very different hotel compared to the beautiful website images online. It's really ashame because the staff is very cheerful and friendly and really do try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. What you can expect are spectacular views of the mountains, WONDERFYL breakfast, kayaking, tours, onsite fitness/yoga, the pool and extra activities as described from the website BUT the neighborhood is SKETCHY. I didn't exactly live in the best part of town in Hawaii, either, and I thought this location was really bad. My husband and I were nervous leaving our car parked out on the street because the onsite parking was limited. I also like to add that other reviewers are commenting that they loved it here because they were experiencing the REAL Hawaii but the REAL Hawaii does not require that you feel unsafe in your surroundings. I really wish that I could say that our stay was everything I was hoping for but sadly it wasn't.

We were a little nervous about this place driving into the neighborhood but it exceeded all of our expectations. Great room, quiet, clean, and tranquil setting, excellent breakfast, and the staff was super! Right down to our personal serving of hot out of the oven pastries and getting us a quick grab and go breakfast at 6am one morning. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very nice time here. The breakfast each morning was wonderful. They even had gluten free options for breakfast. The view from anywhere on the property was absolutely breathtaking. we had a one bedroom room, which was quite small, but was very nicely designed and clean. The Saturday morning boat excursion was the best part of our trip. The snorkeling was great as we saw three sea turtles, lots of fish and the water was very clear. Overall, this was a great place to stay, located in a very remote beautiful area.

Everything went very smoothly. The room was great and room service took care of everything. The morning buffet was terrific. The only thing I would change would be to have more comfortable furniture so you could sit and enjoy the views. The resort is hard to find so better signage on the way in would help.

This was a great hotel. Location was a little odd because it was across the street from a few junkyard-looking homes. Other than that, I had no complaints for the price of the room. Updated rooms with a great bathroom and kitchenette. Free snorkel gear, beach towels and kayaks. If you're looking for a mor secluded resort that is closer to the north shore then this is a great choice.

This is definitely not your typical Waikiki hotel. 1. Be aware of the location about 35 minutes away from Waikiki on the eastern shore of Oahu. It is situated in a more rural part of the island though there are still convenient gas stations/restaurants nearby. 2. The hotel is secluded and peaceful, great for families looking to remove themselves from the touristy Waikiki area 3. The staff and rooms were up to par for the price we paid. Clean and friendly. 4. Free continental breakfast, free yoga, free parking, free rental of snorkeling and kayaking gear. But no beaches nearby. The surrounding area has much more of a tropical jungle feel than the arid southern shore. 5. I recommend staying in Waikiki for the high class shops and restaurants then staying here for a few days to cleanse yourself of that tourist daze before heading back from vacation.

We got a free room upgrade but it came without a view. All the staff was very friendly. Our room seemed more like an apartment than a hotel, which would have been amazing if our kids were with us. It was rainy at the resort almost every day so we weren't able to enjoy the paddle boards or kayaks. They did allow us to take the snorkel gear to other beaches to snorkel which was great! All and all I was very happy!

Hidden in a small road, you suddenly discover what the paradise is actually is. Nice staff, nice room with awesome view, very comfortable beds, and a very practical kitchen in the room so that you don't have to go to the restaurant. What we appreciated was the water supplied for drinking, and the snorkeling kits and the towels that you can take with you even outside the resort. We experienced the hawaian dinner with a local musician and dancer : the price was very reasonable, and we enjoyed this hawaian moment very much. Definitely a place to stay, and to come back.

We stayed one night arrived late departed early. The staff was quite helpful. We wanted a room with a bathtub, however, the bathtub in the room we were offered had a wear spot that was large and unsightly. We opted to keep our original room which only had a shower. Well maintained Bed & Breakfast, great location on the way to North Shore or close proximity to Waikiki and many other vacation destinations. We enjoyed the feel of Hawaii and more of its culture and scenery at this location compared to our stay in Waikiki. The early morning Breakfast was very enjoyable, in a beautiful location and tasty. The traffic wasn't congested like Honolulu. . . Our rooms were clean, and lovely with a nice outdoor patio to enjoy. The beds were extremely comfortable--better than home!! Make sure you keep track of what was quoted as far as your nightly costs and have it printed out before you arrive. Keep track of what was brought with you--we lost three new pairs of shoes. Altogether, we enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy the real feel of Hawaii.

If you like glitzy big five star resorts or the bustle of Waikiki, don't come here. It's a completely different experience, but a lovely one. We stayed in room 34, a one bedroom with full kitchen and absolutely enormous lanai. We had drop dead gorgeous views of cloud-crested mountains on one side and Paradise Bay on the other. The room was comfortable. Beds were good and pillows excellent. A/C fan was a bit noisy but not bad, and we are picky about noises. Daily breakfast was pretty much the same each day, but it was plentiful and good. The plants and flowers were beautiful and well tended. But the real stars of the place were the staff, gracious, friendly, helpful. We loved the free use of kayaks and spent a lot of time exploring Paradise Bay. This resort is tucked into a residential area, and it is tightly packed in. Parking is tight. Also, the resort is on steep slopes, and some of the rooms, including ours, require negotiating quite a few steep stairs. But for the money, it was one of my favorite places ever. The views and the staff are top notch and I would definitely go back.

This place was wonderful. It is only 20 minutes from Honolulu but feels quite and secluded, so it is close enough that you can do all the fun touristy things in the city or you can hang out at the resort all day and do the activities. Max is a great activity leader and does yoga daily and organizes other activities and lessons like kayaking or stand up paddleboarding and it is all included. They have additional activities you can do as well like going out on a boat snorkeling and dinner and evening entertainment for a small fee.

Far from paradise! Hard to find location and very bad scary neighborhood.Room was not properly air conditioned and the sweltering heat in the room was stifling and unbearable. We hoped that a dip in the pool would cool us off, but after closer inspection of the cloudy pool with several discarded band aids, that thought quickly evaded us. The pool was never cleaned in the 3 days we were there, being a swimmer, I was truly disappointed. Don't bother bringing in your luggage from the car, cause there is no room for it in the room. The bedroom, if you could call it that, has a wall to wall bed, cause that is about all they could fit in there. My husband put his luggage on the kitchen table stools in the kitchenette. What a joke! Typically you are provided a dresser or a suitable closet. The rattan furniture was years outdated and very uncomfortable and of serious need of replacement. The only thing this place has going for it is the free breakfast, but that was nothing to write home about unless your a vegan/vegetarian type. Extremely disappointed in the facilities.

I read prior reviews and decided to stay here with my wife. The staff is great and the views are gorgeous. The area is in a residential neighborhood. If you like the bustle of Waikiki, this isn't for you. You get a lot of space for the money, keep that in mind. We were disappointed that the AC in the rooms is a window unit and in our first room, it was too small to do the job. We can't sleep in the heat and it was over 80 degrees in the room. They graciously moved us to another unit with more AC in it, but the louvered windows let in a lot of sound from outside and the walls are thin. It isn't the same accommodations you would get for comparable money elsewhere, but they make up for it in space. The rooms we saw had multiple areas and separate bedrooms plus kitchenettes. At this point we don't have kids travelling with us and I'm too old and crotchety for this location, however, I can say there was a time I would have loved and appreciated it. As everyone else has said, the staff can't be beat. They are great.

Let me start by saying the staff was pleasant and as accommodating as the owner's allowed. The owner's apparently being vegan and restricting food choices. When we checked in we were given keys to our room. When we opened the door, the first thing that hit us was a blast of hot air. We turned on the tiny air conditioner, which read 90 degrees! Next we noticed that there was no view. I had requested a view! We went back to the reception area and asked if we could get a room with a view. Thank goodness we got another room.... with an upgrade fee!! It had the view, butt the AC barely kept up. They then told us the pool was under renovation and we couldn't use it till Wednesday. I called Expedia to tell you the problem and your representative called Paradise Bay and was told it wasn't under renovation. We have pictures of the pool area under renovation, NOT ready for guests, but don't see where to attach them. By day there were sounds of carpentry and in the evening there was a too loud musician. The only quiet time was breakfast. The "View", by the way was a peek-a-boo view through the trees.

Aloha, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Our owners are vegetarians and like to offer healthy choices of food to our guests. I will share with them your thought on restricting food choices. Thank you for sharing your initial experience when you walked in the room. We are addressing this issue. It has been an extremely unique and hot summer for us. Please accept my apologizes for the pool being closed for a few days. From time to time repairs are needed to be done and unfortunately, it was when you were here at the property. Rooms are assigned according to what category you booked. If you booked a standard room which does not come with a view, but you requested one, it would require an upgrade charge, as in your case. Thank you again for sharing your comments with us and we hope that you took home many fond memories of your island visit. With Warmest Aloha, Earl

Awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed every day. Great location and great staff!! Snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding were all sensational. A true gem on the beautiful windward side of the island. We will certainly visit again.

Exactly what we were looking for. Away from Waikiki and a truly authentic Hawaiian country experience. On the bay with gorgeous mountain views, super quiet, peaceful and low key. Not a full service resort, so no room service, etc. However, nice free breakfast every morning with yummy coffee! Free access to kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel equipment! Not close to much so a rental car is necessary. We did their snorkel excursion during our stay and got to swim with sea turtles, amazing!

WOW, Orchids on the bed when we arrived with a personal note of welcome. Had a beautiful view of the cove from the balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend highly.

After working in Honolulu all week, I was looking for a quiet place to relax for a night. Although there is no beach access, this property offers beautiful views and great service. With a rental car, you can easily access some of the islands best beaches, minus the crowds. Great find!

The staff were all very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. This resort is on the East side of the island so it is well away from the crowds in Waikiki. You will need to rent a car to get around but it's a great place to stay if you don't like crowds. They have a nice breakfast that is included in your stay. Overall we find it to be a good value for our money. Again the staff were very nice and helpful.

this is was our second stay in Hawaii. our first was Waikiki. I picked here as the pictures made it look very "resort-ish". I was very disappointed in the area. the hotel was super clean, staff very friendly and it definitely is a beautiful place, but if your looking for a beachy type resort with pretty clear water and a nice place to lay out in the sun, this IS NOT it. theres no beach, only pool swimming, and the water is very murkey and pond like. our room was very clean, but the pictures are deceiving, as we had the studio kitchenette and its TINY. there is no tv in the bedroom, and I like to lay in bed to relax and watch tv. theres a coffee pot, but unlike other hotels that replace your coffee daily, you only get coffee for the first morning here, after that you have to go get it at their breakfast buffet ( included in price and very nice) also, as this hotel is on a VERY steep hill, if your room happens to be in the middle, you have to walk all the way to the bottom, then back up the stair to the middle to access it. I spent a lot of time jumping over the railing to get to my door. not designed well at all. and it is out in the middle of no wheres. that being said, its definitely beautiful, and the surrounding areas and beaches in the area are very pretty, staff is nice and rooms are clean. I wouldn't recommend, BUT, its all a matter of what you like and what your looking for!

The staff was friendly and provided information on local restaurants which turned out to be great advice. The location is great for visitors who don't want to be in the city, but still close to major attractions. The resort surroundings are beautiful.

Excellent resort! It is on the rainy side of the island, but the resort is BEAUTIFUL and the staff is excellent. There is easy access to other parts of the island and the resort has free kayaks and snorkeling equipment you can use there during the day, or take the snorkeling equipment out to some other great turtle locations on the island. It is the only place (I'm pretty sure) that tourists can stay on that part of the island, so you really get to experience the local culture. I highly recommend Paradise Bay Resort!

This was our 3rd and last hotel stay for our wedding/honeymoon week. Our room was a one bedroom overlooking the bay. This place was exactly what we needed after our wedding. It's beautiful, quiet and clean. The room was more like a full size one brm apt. With everything you could ever need for your stay. The bathroom was very nicely done. The bedroom is a bit small and was tricky to open and close closet doors but we just used the luggage rack and places our suit case is the halway out of our way. The breakfast was the best!!! There were hot and cold selections and it varied each day. They offered a special dinner and show for $25 on one of our nights there. It was completely worth going. The entertainment was perfect and the food was delicious. This place also offers free parking unlike any other place we stayed at. They only charge a resort fee. Which is completely worth every penny. This includes breakfast, wifi, use of snorkel gear, kayaks and many other things. Now the staff we interacted with during our stay were all very friendly, knowlageable and most of all professionals. We would most defiantly return back to Paradise Bay Resort. In fact is was a little difficult getting my wife to leave.. Haha

This place was so beautiful and packed with adventure. It is a niche to be explored over several days and we will have to go back because our 2 day stay was not long enough!! Great breakfast with veggie options...wonderful staff and a diner drive in and dives location is within walking distance!!!

Our experience at paradise bay resort was great. We got there late and our room was ready like they were waiting for us it was a good feeling. It was nice to hear the ocean and the birds along with the swaying leaves. The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good with the fresh fruits and my favorite was the passion fruit and orange drink...my only least favorable was the vegan bacon. Over all this place was awesome I would most definitely come back and refer someone.

Great for anyone that wants to be or needs to be on that side of the island. The Staff were extremely helpful and professional. After driving though a residential neighborhood we must admit we were not sure about our decision. However once on the premises we not only were pleased with our decision but extended our stay. Definitely a throwback to what we imagine Hawaii to be years ago. Rooms on the bay or view of the bay is what I would recommend. Great for a long term stay as some rooms have kitchenettes.

Spectacular Views, very accomodating staff, excellent breakfast (nice surprise), and the rooms were comfortable especially should you get a deck that was part of our studio. We enjoyed the contrast of Paradise Bay to Waikiki.
