"Not a good hotel if you want beach access."
The air conditioner in our room did not work. They gave us five coffees in our room for the seven days we were there. I asked for another one and they said they couldn't give me another one. I wished I had realized there was no beach access. The staff was really friendly though and helpful. We left day to be with our daughter whose husband left in his […] naval ship and we couldn't get that day which I couldn't understand with it being the military. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Should Not Be Titled a RESORT"
The staff is terrific (truly terrific) and once you pull in the scenery is lovely, but to get there you have to drive through a neighborhood of dumpy houses with junk all over the yards. And though the outside is lovely, the room is about what you'd expect from a Super 8. The free morning b'fast is okay, and I thought their $25 Wednesday night "Hawaiian […] Night" might be fun with Hawaiian food and live music planned but decided no when walking up and heard the band begin to play "Okie from Muskogee" (no lie). So, decided to order a delivery and wait for it out in the parking lot with the 5-6 feral cats that were running around....not to mention the stray chicken or two from down the street. Oh, and about those chickens....you'll be awakened by the rooster. Decide to go somewhere else....can't, there's a full night penalty for early check-out. They know they've got you. BTW, price was the same as the Holiday Inn in Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK resort for the Windward side."
The hotel is an old building that has been upgraded recently. It has a really nice pool and hot tub. Kayaks and paddleboards for use. We spent most of our time away from the resort so were not able to enjoy the ammenities. The breakfast was very good for continental style, with hot oatmeal, fruits and juices among other choices. We stayed in the standard […] room which I would consider outdated and somewhat incomplete. The efficiency kitchen did not have much for cooking tools but we were able to get by. I would reccomend spending the extra money for an upgraded room, they looked really nice. For the price I would consider this resort OK but there are not many choices on the windward side of the Island. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

A lot for the money. We originally thought that our reservation was for the Turtle Bay Resort and were glad in the end that we stayed at the Paradise Bay Resort. Thanks for the great service!Genuine Expedia guest review
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone! Beautiful scenery, quiet atmosphere, a great getaway! Loved the kayak and snorkeling rentals for free as well as resort activities (like Mai Tai night with a fire show or platoon ride). Something I personally loved was that there are about 15 cats around the resort. Was great for me because I was able […] to be around cats even though I left mine for the vacation. However, could be a downside if someone wanted to bring their dog that, for example, may not like cats. Only drawbacks that we had was that our room was located directly under the lobby so every morning at 7am when the continental breakfast opened any family with kids was very loud. Additionally, there is not a beach at the resort (they are EVERYWHERE else though so easy enough to find and get to). Aside from that, which even if we were aware of all the drawbacks, I would still book the place again if/when we go back to visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Paradise Bay Resort was the best resort we have stayed at in Oahu. Our room, with kitchenette, had a large balcony that overlooked the mountains and the bay. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable. On Friday night (for just $20 per person) the resort provided pizzas, chips & dips, 2 mai tais, and a fire show performance. It was fantastic! The […] breakfast on the open air balcony is heavenly...with fresh fruit, etc. There is also a mall just 5 minutes down the road with restaurants, etc. The resort is in a VERY residential area, which is quiet. Hotel was nice but not as described. Private man made beach was the size of a beach chair or two...VERY DISAPPOINTING. "Great hotel for a family!"
Paradise Bay Resort is in such a relaxing area of Oahu. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us. We were still close to the activities and Beaches. My kids loved the Kiacking and the evening show. We ate at the Wednesday night dinner and they even thought of me with a birthday cake. I would go back again and again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Away from the crowds with a view of the bay!"
We loved having a private space away from the Wikiki crowds. Great staff, nice furnishings. Comfortable bed and a nice ourtdoor living space with a private patio/balconly. We reserved a studio, but because of the "living room" on the patio it was like having a suite!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great getaway on the bay ! A little hideway !"
We stayed at the hotel with the kids, It overall was a good experience. We enjoy that it was a little hidden in the bay that it was n't as busy. Since, the location is within a residential area, it tended to get very loud in the morning hours. It was nice to have the breakfast included, as part of your stay - It was a great view over the bay! The kids […] enjoyed that breakfast was right at the hotel. It has a old home environment nothing fresh and new. However, it was a good price and we only sleep there, always out sight seeing every day ! One thing about room needs , we had four of us in the room which meant used more toliet paper than usual. Always had to ask for more than carry back to the room - TACKY. It isn't a costly item and there should always be extra available. I noticed other guests having to do the same thing . I thought that was strange! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Kirkwood Family Vacation"
Located on the Bay with beautiful views. Offered free breakfast daily, free snorkeling and boat rides on certain days, free kayaks for guest use, surfboard rentals, laundry room, live music and fire dancers on certain days. We had a family of 8 and we cooked meals in our kitchenette rooms which saved lots of money...We went to Waikiki Beach, Waimea […] Falls, Diamond Head Crater, Pearl Harbor and Dole Plantation all of which were within 30 minutes of this resort. The upside was that we were away from all the crowds and enjoyed peaceful relaxation and fun with our family. The downside is that it appears that this resort is located on the side of the island that rains frequently. It did rain 3 of the 7 days we were there but as we visited all the other attractions, the weather was mid 80's and perfect. We didn't mind the misty rain when we returned from the beach...It was an added bonus for us...lol...I really enjoyed the staff who were very knowledgible about the tourist attractions and did give us a map and directions to everything that we wanted to see while we were there. I would definitely go there again and would recommend this resort to all my family and friends traveling to this Island...Beautiful Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Paradise Bay has the best location, staying here gives you the true taste of Hawaii!!!!! The people are very kind and helpful, the view is so beautiful that beautiful is an understatement. I didn't want to leave; Paradise Bay also offers so many family friendly ammenities such as family dinner on wednesday nights and the kyaks which were really fun, […] or even being able to quietly relax and fish off of the dock. The Saturday sandbar was wonderful and the Friday night Mai Tai's and amazing Fire dance topped it all off, it was the neatest show and up close too so you could see all the action great!!!! "Not such a Paradise"
If you are trying to avoid the congestion of Waikiki, this might be a place for you. Surrounded by beautiful views, this hotel is located on a steep downhill. It is not senior citizens friendly, and it is dangerous for small children, as there are many stairs leading to the rooms, pool, and waterfront. Nights are not quiet at all. There are many cats […] in the neighborhood that come out at night and "sing" together. The windows are just glass shutters that allow the wind and slightest noise inside even when closed. We did not have peaceful nights at all. Furthermore, my husband and child got sick with the constant wind blowing throughout our room. The breakfast served in the morning is a nice touch. It was a highlight of our stay as we enjoyed a great view of the bay and mountains. The waterfront is muddy, and not suitable for swimming. Overall, this hotel is not worth the money we spent. We got much better deals and quieter nights in Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable, and cozy hotel nestled on the quiet side of the island, very nice and accomodating staffGenuine Expedia guest review
Pros: Very beautiful location. Free beach towel service, kayaks and paddleboards, though we didn't get a chance to use those. Our two bedroom unit had a king size bed and a room with two twins. Perfect for families. Nice to be away from all the high rises. Basic breakfast was enough to get us started on our day. Aloha night was nice. Cons: We couldn't […] get the internet to work, but we never spoke to the management to figure it ou. The wild chickens make a racket in the morning, but the window air conditioner did a good job of blocking the noice. Two bedroom suite only had one bathroom, not enough for our family of 5 but we were ok. We may not stay there again, as they only had the one bathroom. It made getting ready too difficult for us. Other than that it was perfect for us. We were not interested in a generic high rise hotel, the personal touch here was just right. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

If you are looking for paradise without all the hotels and commercialism this is the place. We really felt like we were in paradise! The rooms were all remodeled and very clean. The only down fall was the other guest that woke up before us that parked outside of our window they were not respectful of the noise they were making. "A possible future hidden star."
Wonderful location with an unmatched view and local feel. The resort is revamping and hopefully keeps working on it. Our place, the honeymoon cabin on the bay had horribly uncomfortable futon style couch and inexpensive patio furnishings. The bed was comfortable with fine quality linen. I did notice new furnishings arriving for other rooms and was envious! […] New large shower enclosure and jetted tub were nice. Little things are missing like wall art, clock radio, dvd player and decorating touches. Four of the staff were exceptional (TRUE 5 STARS) but one was curt with me and needs some couching on customer service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not Accurately Represented Online"
The pictures shown online were NOT the units we stayed in. We booked a room to sleep 2 adults and 4 children and there were only enough beds for 4 of us. One of my children had to sleep in bed with us and another had to sleep on a roll away. I even called the facility previous to our arrival to be sure there was room for all six of us and they said […] one of the kids could sleep on the couch and they would provide the roll away free of charge. The "couch" was a wicker bench the was uncomfortable to sit on, let alone try to sleep on. The unit aslo had bugs all over. I would never stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had trouble finding the place because it's on a dead end street among small local homes; however I felt very safe in the area. If your room in on the 2nd floor, there are only stairs to the rooms. The hotel does a lot to make guests feel comfortable and their stay pleasant. The resort is being renovated. The room in our bldg (no view) had new floors, […] bedding, curtains, toilet & bath sink. It's one of the last to be worked on and could use a little more work. No counter space in bathroom, toy refrigerator & living rm furniture a bit worn. If you like watching tv at night, There is a small tv in the living room & it's not a flat screen. The pool is brand new & there's a very nice floating dock to sit out on lawn chairs. It might have been the time of year, but we didn't come across one bug.. not even by the water or the pool area. The Hawaiian dinner they serve was great & the snorkeling trip even better! Driving into the area, I was afraid it would be a run down place, but to my surprise it was nice! The view here is AH-MAY-ZING! We were a little disappointed in the room at first. It was not what I had seen in the pictures on line. However the shower was awesome and the beds were so comfortable! The beds were clean, but there was a broken closet door, […] and some a cookie or something left on the top shelf of the closet, it's probably still there. The floor in the living room could have been cleaned better. The resort is tucked inside a small neighborhood, lots of roosters and cats, but we feel it helped add to the "real" hawian experience. Our first night, we went over to the lobby deck for Mojitos. Our bartender, Amber was awesome! We were the first ones there, so we had an opportunity to chit chat with Amber and get her feed back on what we really should do and see while we were there. I already knew where the tourists went, but Amber had some different suggestions. We tried them all, including Giovannies Shrimp Truck, and Matumotos shave ice, Thanks Amber! A lady at the front desk suggested that we go to Ono Hawian Foods in Honolulu for some authentic Hawian food. Now this place is a hole in the wall. Here in Chicago I would walk past this place and NEVER think of stopping to eat there. But this place is a MUST if you're in the Hololulu area! Great authentic Hawian Food! We're already planning our trip back, and we will stay here again! Thanks Paradise Bay Resort!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A hidden gem on Oahu"
This was a last minute get away and everything about my stay was just wonderful. The hotel is only about half an hour from Honolulu airport, but feels a million miles away from the crowds of Waikiki. The property has recently been renovated, and my room was very nice, spacious and clean. I had a kitchenette that was adequate for cooking simple meals […] and keeping the wine chilled. There were kayaks and paddle boards available free of charge, and a boat excursion to the coral reef for snorkeling that was also free and a lot of fun. The pool and hot tub aren't huge, but the set up is nice with lots of lounging chairs and shade for when it gets too sunny. The staff were very pleasant and made some good suggestions about things to see. The breakfast was adequate, I ended up buying some papayas from the farmers market and had those on the balcony every morning, but got coffee (it was good coffee, too) from the buffet. It looked like there were breads and some fruit, but nothing hot. You definitely need a car - there are some tremendous beaches to the north and south, but not within walking distance. There is a supermarket a short drive away, and a really good food truck about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Get directions to the hotel before you arrive, it can be a little tricky to find it and Hawaii isn't much for signage in general. It's in a residential neighborhood and expect to see chickens, cats and dogs roaming the street. This is definitely a place for those who are looking for a quiet and relaxing trip, or just to decompress. I didn't hear any noise after about 10 and most people seemed up and out by 8 or 9. There is a lot to do on the windward side of the island, and during the week you can have many of the beaches to yourself. This is a place for travelers who are looking for an experience outside of the traditional, all-inclusive resort that you expect on Oahu. This is a unique resort in a residential neighborhood. we stayed here to avoid the big cities and get away. the location is quaint and room styling unique. in this environment all rooms can be different but ours was spacious and recently renovated. the bathroom was disappointingly small but clean. the bed was spectacular. this resort is more like a […] large B&B than a commercial hotel so be prepared but be prepared to enjoy yourself. the pool and hot tub were very nice after taking a kayak out in the bay. not much "tourist" in this area but we had a great diner just up the road and you're still only 35 minutes by car to Waikiki or the airport. "Nice hotel, quiet location"
Isolated hotel within a residential area. If you are looking for a full service resort, this isn't it. There is no restaurant, bar or room service. The closest restaurant is a 10 minute drive. If you'd like a nice quiet place with good size rooms and great views - I'd consider this place. Pros - great staff, great views, quiet location, 1 bedroom […] suites are big, free kayaks, free excursions. Cons - located in the middle of a so-so residential area, no bar or restaurant, very little sound insulation between the rooms (I could hear everything in the rooms above, below and next to me), not all rooms have air conditioning, painfully slow (but free) internet. "Nice cottage resort on Kaneohe Bay."
We truly enjoyed our two night stay at Paradise Bay resort. It is on the windward side of Oahu so it is a little cooler and of course, windier. We had a beautiful view of the bay and the mountains from our lanai. Our studio with kitchenette was roomy, clean, recently remodeled with modern decor. The continental breakfast was basic but allowed us to […] relax in the morning and sit out on a large open lanai and enjoy a cup of coffee and a bagel. The pool renovation was just finished on the day we checked out so we did not get to use it but the resort had just purchased new chaise lounges to go around the pool deck. This is not a hotel. We are midwesterners and grew up visiting family cottage resorts around the lakes in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Paradise Bay is very much like that. It is a grouping of single and multiunit cottages that are located in a residential neighborhood. Some of the cottages are waterfront and others sit back a little ways. The resort is beautifully landscaped as the photos depict. Housekeeping is provided every other day. We would recommend it for families and couples that are looking for a tropical setting away from crowded and busy Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

To call this place a resort is stretching the definition a little. It reminded me more of Mom & Pop's Cabins at a lake in the midwest. That's not necessarily all bad, however. There's a lot to like here: beautiful scenery, quiet residential surroundings, free use of kayaks, paddleboards and gas grills. Everything is slightly shabby, though, and quite […] a few things in our room were broken (microwave, king size bed) or missing (blankets on the beds, remote control for the TV, both of which were furnished on request) Most importantly (to my mind, anyway) the windward coast of Oahu is very windy, cloudy and rainy in the winter. This means even at their friendly Aloha Night event (with free maitais!) you feel damp and chilly, and the water sports are much less appealing. We had a car, so we could chase the sun on the north or west coasts, which we did. The one sunny day of our 5-day stay was lovely, so I think I would have enjoyed staying here much more outside the December - March rainy season. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
