It was great. The only suggestion I would have is to make sure that your entire staff greets all guest. When we came in at 3:30am in the morning from an event the front desk person just looked at us. "Got bumped, cold meals, but beautiful room"
I arrived from airport, running late for a client appointment only to get 'walked' to a MUCH lesser hotel the Wyndham. I can't believe they couldn't contact me in advance. When I got to the Wyndham with a sheet of paper that the Renaissance gave me. They had no idea I was coming. While they did get me in a room, that was hardly an equivalent property. […] From 5 star to 3. That's just not okay. Once back at the Renaissance, the property is beautiful, I was upgraded and the room very nice as was the staff. The food was not good. Had to return my salad from room service bc the lettuce was so wilted and well past its prime. They took it off my bill and then proceeded to charge me for my tea. Smarter hotels would have comped that whole bill. Had breakfast at the buffet next morning and all the food and the coffee was luke warm. My client said the same thing. We came down to Baton Rouge for a wedding. Wedding party suggested this hotel and I'm so glad they did. It was bright and fresh and modern. Lovely lobby, friendly staff. Went online to book the room, but when I arrived I was told that my card wasn't accepted in their system (even though the room was already paid for, prior!) Comfortable king size for the KING SIZED. Lol One major problem though; THE WALLS ARE THIN!!!! Ole boy or girl in the adjacent room sounded like he/she was starting a lawnmower (snoring). The beds on both sides share the same wall!!! Luckily, we drowned their noise out and everything was everything. Also, no frig/microwave for a $150+ room (the Residence has more amenities, including a kitchen for that price). The lobby is lovely and inviting, and the room was spacious, and decorated with a pleasing modern motif. It's located on the south side of the city, but is convenient to the University, Mall of Louisiana, Whole Foods, and the outlet mall in Gonzalez, LA. And it although our room faced the street, it was quite -- no trains, no large trucks, no highway traffic. Perfect! My only suggestion is that for those with a pass into the suite providing breakfast, that instructions for the espresso machine be written and available for patrons, as well as having unsweetened and vanilla soy milk available. Sometimes the helper in the suite is inundated with requests and the small ones get passed over.
