"A perfect location for Clifden"
We visited Clifden as our base for touring the Connemara Region. The town is pretty and this hotel is in the perfect location for walking the town. It also offers a leisure center which is great if travelling with childrenGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I do not recommend the Clifden Station House. Rooms are extremely small, and overpriced. Room configuration for 5 was a double bed, a sofa bed, and a foam mattress. Staff were not very accommodating. Awoken during night (4am) by hotel staff moving loud squeaky cart through the hallways. Cups at breakfast were dirty. Internet connections were not free. […] I do not recommend using this hotel during your stay in Clifden. There are many better options available. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Friedly staff, very clean, service great. see you next year when Santa comes to Clifden.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Station needs some love"
We arrived and the staff were very courteous and polite. The room was clean but not spotless and it was in need of some TLC, e.g. there were cracks and gouge marks in the plastered walls. The net curtains had a couple of holes and a rip. The bar was not manned, we had to go to reception to get someone up to the bar, and the barman would disappear once […] he served us. I found this a bit of a nuisance, especially when the hotel was full and there was often 4+ people waiting at the bar for service. I have stayed here a few times, and although I have some gripes from this visit, the location is ideal so there is a level of forgiveness afforded. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice spot. Lovely to be greeted by a full plate of fruit in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Brilliant customer service"
Just got back from 3 nights at the Clifden Station House, the hotel is modern and the facilities are all very good. We used the pool every day and it was warm enough for my two year old daughter, the rooms were clean and the hotel food very good especially the breakfast. It's location is very good and there is ample on site parking. The difference between […] this and the vast majority of hotels I have stayed in is the staff, they are so helpful from small things to make your stay more enjoyable to making you breakfast to take with you as you are leaving before the breakfast opens. Our stay was comfortable. The courtyard is lovely with seating to enjoy the sunshine. also car parking in courtyard safe easily accessable. Our room was facing onto main road busy from 6:30 noisy with trucks etc.
"Great location and great service"

We stayed here for two nights over Easter. The weather was glorious which always helps but the hotel was excellent. The staff are very friendly. We had a chat with the manager in the bar on the first night - he was helping out behind the bar - and he told us there was a guided walk organised for the following morning - all free. We spent a very interesting three hours walking and driving around the Renvyle peninsula with a local guide / archaeologist / conservationist in fabulous sunshine - it was the highlight of the weekend. On Easter Sunday, eggs were delivered to our kids in the room - nice touch. We only had breakfast in the hotel but it was excellent - set you up for the day. I cycled the Sky Road one of the mornings and the Aughrus peninsula - stunning scenery. All in all a great base for a holiday in Connemara.

Stayed 4 nights visiting family......out most of the day but going back to hotel was a delight. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Early morning swim then the delicious breakfast set us up for the day and on return in the evening a very pleasant evening awaited. Breakfast and dinner both very good, room very comfortable, this was our 2nd stay and didn't disappoint, we certainly will be back. For us the staff make the hotel such a pleasant stay, well done ladies and gentlemen.

We stayed in the self catering apartments for three nights with our three children and had such a great time we extended our stay for another night which was in the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was hugely impressed with 'Crunchie Friday' and so were the kids.!! We'll be back again and I would highly recommend it for both families and couples as there is loads to do in the area.

my wife and I and our 16 month old had a fantastic time in your self catering apartments last week, the weather gods did there job which admittedly helped but we could not fault the facilities and your excellent staff, Nancy and all the cleaning staff always friendly and very helpful, the leisure centre was very clean and well maintained, we will definitely be returning sooner rather than later. well done

This is a review of the self-catering apartments at the Station House Hotel. the facilities were excellent (dishwasher, washing machine & dryer, tv & dvd). There was a thoughtful welcome basket of tea, coffee, milk, butter and OJ - very welcome after a long drive and arriving late. The accommodation was very clean and the staff could not have been more welcoming; they did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The self-catering apartments are perfect for families with young children and the bar was very family-friendly, even in the evenings. We didn't use the Kids Club but it seemed to be popular. The only thing that could be improved upon would be to have WIFI in the apartments themselves (only available in the communal areas). This is an excellent base for a family to explore Connemara.
"Family Reunion Easter 3 generations 17 people"

From the 1st phone call a warm welcome was assured, Susan was helpful and kind, interested in getting information like what we wanted from our break! she and aine answered my many questions, made suggestions so when we finally arrived I felt i knew them and they were all about us and our requirements. This warm and friendly attitude spread to everyone of the hotel staff and management we came accross, nothing was too much trouble and everyone one of them 'put the customer first' We ate lunch in an old railway station - now a bar and restaurant, we ate dinner in the restaurant, celebrated a special occasion with a wonderful Easter Lunch in the restaurant. The food was superb, something for everyone, breakfast is buffet style and the hotel was full however we never felt we were put out in any way. Kids were entertained with movies in the theater, swimming in the pool and Easter egg hunts. The hotel is at the top of the town so the car dosen't have to leave its parking space. We had a wonderful experience and with 17 family members from 3 generations we all leave awarding the Station House 5 stars Ps Value for money this hotel definitely is, there is lots to see and do in Connemara - Clifden, we spent Monday on Inis Boffin (a small island 35 minute boat ride from Cleggan) in the sun this is a part of heaven
We stayed here for four nights with our three children. We booked an apartment which was brilliant, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. I could not fault this hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The pool was fab and very clean and well maintained. I couldn't praise this hotel enough from service to location it's the place to stay. Me and my family can't wait to go back again...

Just back from a two night stay with my husband and two teenagers. From the moment we arrived, it felt like home away from home. Staff are super friendly, the pool was fab and we ate in the Station House the two evenings. Food was superb and the ambience was also great.Went to Lowrys local after for an excellent trad session. Already planning our return. Keep up the fantastic work. One little thing was wifi was a bit hard to get some times but this was only a small thing.
"Great value, friendly welcome"

We stayed here for 2 nights just coming up to Easter. Last time we stayed here was around 13 years ago but the Station House is still going strong. Our family room was a little cramped for 4 people including a 14 and an 11-year old, but we managed. Fixtures and fittings are showing some signs of wear and tear but nothing too excessive. Wifi was free and worked fine. Bathroom was plenty good enough, with a bath and powerful shower (no shortage of hot water). The breakfast buffet was substantial, ranging from your typical bacon, egg and sausages to cereals and pancakes (if you were prepared to wait a few minutes). There was a plentiful supply of pastries as well, yum yum. The hotel was quite busy, lots of families with young children but there was no issue with excessive noise at night. The hotel is very convenient for walking into Clifden, about 5-10 minutes. The hotel bar came in very useful on Good Friday, when most of the pubs in town were shut. Car parking outside the hotel was pot luck, as it was quite busy, but we were lucky. We also availed of the swimming pool in the hotel, which was clean and had good changing facilities. I would like to pay the Station House an additional compliment for the friendliness of the staff, ranging from the receptionist, to the breakfast staff and even to the cleaning women in the mornings - well done.
