The Hotel was just Ok, it would have been better than okay had I not drove. That was the problem. Every night that I came in there was no parking anywhere. I was told that I could park on the street in the adjacent neighborhood. I am 6'1" and 250 pounds and I did not feel safe, use your imagination.

"Decent Hotel in a Scary Neighborhood."
We chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to the Belmont Racetrack. The neighborhood is scary. Definitely not an area one walk around feeling even remotely safe. The rooms are SMALL!!!!!! Like the size of a closet. Two people in there is a push. Everything was clean, neat and new (apparently the hotel was just recently built). The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the towels fluffy and they provided lots of "goodies".... Mouthwash, earplugs (should've been a sign), and lotion/shampoo etc. The breakfast was gross.... The fruit was old and slimy looking, the meats and eggs looked reheated from the day before (we didn't eat, just looked). Our rooms were on the first floor near the desk.... VERY LOUD. The insulation is lacking for sure.... Can hear everything from the rooms and outside. Also, if you stay on the first floor, you are in the basement and your tiny little window is way up by the ceiling.... You have a nice view of the underside of cars, however. Overall, I'd give it a 2/5 stars. Many of the other reviews were misleading. This may be a 4/5 hotel for the area, but definitely not when compared to a hotel in the city. It was fine for what we needed it for, which was a place to sleep for two nights, but I would not stay here again.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Very friendly and helpful staff! The rooms were also much nicer than expected and also very clean. Wifi was superb. Breakfast had a good variety. It was a stress free stay!

"Cannot Recommend - Do Not Stay Here"
First off, there are two Sleep Inns that call themselves JFK Airport locations, the one we booked at 177-08 Liberty Ave. in Jamaica, NY states on their website that they are 4.2 miles from JFK, the truth is more like 10 miles from JFK (unless they meant "as the crow flies"). I called weeks in advance to clarify their shuttle service, I called just before 10:30 PM from sidewalk outside JFK baggage claim and was told we had to take the train to Federal Center to get shuttle. We had not been told about the train previously, anyway, rather than risk not making the shuttle we opted to take a cab to hotel, the driver was reluctant to take us, we found out shortly what a bad neighborhood the hotel was in. At check-in the clerk was nice, but we had an uneasy feeling about the place, as several people were roaming around acting strange. The desk clerk said our room was on the 1st floor, I said we would appreciate a room on a upper floor where it should be quieter. He stated it was safer on the first floor. Here is was almost midnight and our choices were limited. The desk clerk helped us to our room with our luggage (6 bags, we had been on vac. for 3 weeks). We were very tired due to the lateness of the hour and an international flight. The night was a nightmare, fire trucks, police sirens and to make matters worse people kept banging on doors and asking to be let in the rest of the night. Expedia should have this hotel in its inventory, also the train to shuttle is $5.PP.

"Hotel w/shuttle to JFK airport"
Our flight was cancelled so we were stuck in NY overnight. Used Expedia to find this hotel. No trouble booking via internet. Excellent front desk staff, very helpful. They helped us with travel plans and the shuttle took us to the Metro stop.The hotel has a shuttle to JFK airport which is a good distance away. Monica keep us informed via phone when shuttle was on its way. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast downstairs was good also.

The hotel service was good. They are prompt and courteous the driver on the shuttle drove like he was in a video game. But the overall stay was fine they are very clean and the room was nice and cozy.

"Upgraded/clean hotel"
Hotel was clean with modern features . Space was a little cramped but it was enough space for a short stay for two. TV stopped working after the 1st night, staff tried to take that out of the $100 deposit they forget to tell you about. Otherwise it was a good stay.

"Nicer then expected."
We needed a place to stay for a few hours for an early flight out of JFK. The hotel is much father from the airport then the description. When our cab pulled up to the hotel my heart dropped. The area is pretty rough and the outside of the hotel leaves much to the imagination. The lobby area is not so great. Reception was very friendly. The room was really nice. That was a big welcomed surprise.

"Don't use as an airport Hotel"
I stayed here for 1 night and wished I had never booked this hotel !!! We arrived at JFK at 11.05pm and our first warning sign was that it wasn't even recognised as an airport hotel as it wasn't even listed at JFK's hotel telephone information area so I had to call them from my personal telephone using the number provided on my booking form. When I did call reception we were told that the shuttle had stopped running and we were given incorrect information of where to go to get a taxi and how much it would roughly cost, so we wasted time going up and down the Air Tran to get to the correct area for the taxi only to found out that the taxi drivers didn't even know where this hotel was and when they looked it up and saw how far it was the price was double what the receptionist told us. We had no choice but to take an expensive taxi ride to this far hotel that was not even close to the airport as it was in South Queens!!! The driver even got lost trying to find it but kindly turned off his meter at the quoted price as he recognised that it wasn't our fault he couldn't find it. When we arrived at this dodgy area in a rough, unsafe-looking residential neighbourhood, the receptionist seemed uncaring of the ordeal we had. We were then informed that the shuttle back to the airport the next day would not be operating between 11am & 6pm so as our flight was in the evening instead of being able to relax at the hotel as planned after checkout we had a 8 hours wait at the airport !!!

The big problem here was that the hotel is not at JFK airport. It's about a 30 min drive in NY Traffic, which does not make it convenient or reliable if you're trying to make a flight.

"Fabulous service! Industrial neighborhood."
Last minute booking to be close to JFK during a blizzard. Place was clean and fresh with friendly staff, delicious and plentiful breakfast. Every time we came down to the common spaces, someone was mopping. A nice value for the price. Coffee and tea were available all day in the lobby and the exercise room was nice. They dug their shuttle out of 8+ inches so they could take us to the airport at 10 am after the blizzard and drove us through treacherous streets to suit our needs. The neighborhood is very industrial and not as close to the airport as we expected, but we never felt unsafe.

No one available at front desk on arrival; staff could not locate reservation or print check-in information; room itself did not provide king bed as reserved through Venere (we were too tired to complain); room was clean but walls were unpleasantly stained; staff could not print check-out information, so we have no receipt. Staff were considerate, personable, and apologetic. The problem was that management had not provided them with an appropriate level of technical training.

Not impressed with the airport shuttle service, should be more frequent and drop people off at the terminals instead of asking them to take the Airtrain.

We needed a room so that we could be at the airport for an early flight. It is about 15 minutes from the airport, so I wouldn't call this an "airport hotel." There are many others much closer to the airport. We arrived late the night before and the neighborhood was somewhat less than desirable and the parking lot incredibly small. We were able to cram into a parking spot and get into our room, which was also pretty small. For just a bed and a shower, it was fine, but for an airport stay, I wouldn't use this one again.

Really just needed the hotel overnight, from one flight to another, and yet met all of our needs. Hotel is not very close to the airport, but the shuttle van was very accommodating.

"Stop before traveling home"
I booked this hotel as our flight from Italy came in too late to catch a flight from JFK to home. The neighborhood didn't look too great but we were just there to sleep. The room was clean and nicely decorated and very comfortable. Also there was a shuttle to and from the airport. With such a great rate I would stay again. Not sure there was a close subway stop but the shuttle was taking some guests to different connecting stops.
