"Convenient Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 19, 2013
The location of this hotel was just right for folks who don't want to be right in the middle of the action. Just a 2/3 block walk takes you where most of the shops, bars, cafes are. Also, you couldn't beat the nice view of the new Harpa Concert hall all lit up every night across from the hotel. Size wise, the room was pretty standard for European rooms I've stayed in before. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom will get wet after a shower. There also isn't storage for your clothes so put a sweater on over that wrinkled shirt you just pulled out of your suitcase. They gave my wife and I a room on the 1st floor. It was incredibly loud in the mornings with slamming doors and the clip clop of heels and dress shoes. Request a room on a higher floor. The front desk service couldn't have been better. They helped with car rental, restaurant info & airport shuttle and were generally pleasant and friendly. I would stay here again, but request a different floor to stay on.

"I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 6, 2013
The room was great. We had 3 adult women staying here. Our room had 2 twin beds & a futon. It had a kitchen w/all the necessities. There is not much privacy as it is all 1 big room (sleep area, futon/tv area, and kitchen) but it was clean. Bathroom was clean. In the shower you pull a curtain around you. The floor of the bathroom is also the floor of the shower so you can't really have more than 1 person in the bathroom (like brushing teeth while someone showers). This is not the hotel's fault as it's everywhere in Iceland, the water tastes & smells like sulfur. Be prepared for that. The staff wasn't overly friendly but they weren't unfriendly. After spending a couple days there we decided it is just their culture. Another thing we loved is they have storage. We arrived in Iceland prior to check-in time & the room was not ready so we were able to use a large closet type locker to store our luggage in while we went & had breakfast & walked around. Then came back & checked in. The main doors are locked. You have to ring a bell to be let in originally but they give you the code to get in once you've checked in. They have a computer w/printer available to use in their "lobby" area. I will definitely recommend to everyone & anyone. The tourist companies will pick you up at the hotel or you can just walk down to the one we used. Max 10 min walk. We walked to the church, took 10 min. We paid a total of $193.00 w/tax for 2 nights. We split it 3 ways so really I paid $64! Awesome deal!
"excellent location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 6, 2013
A very great place to stay for a good price. We had the best location possible as it was right in the city center and walking distance to everything. It's also right next to one of the major tour companies, a bus station, and in the center of all the night life. Apparently there is more than one location, and the other location may not be as convenient (according to some reviews). The only major problems were that they charged as an early check-in fee at 9am (check-in at 3pm) despite the room already being clean and free and the wifi wasn't working in our room most of our stay.
"My hotel in reykyavik"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 4, 2013
I'm recommending it to all of my friends who go to Reykyavik, I loved it, from the simplicity and elegance of the decor to the super courteous, friendly and helpful staff...also excellent location. I loved the beds with white down pillows and comforters, like sleeping on a cloud! And the views of the city are exquisite!

"City Center Hotel"
Amazing. Ollie, the manager goes above and beyond for his guests. He spent time negotiating rental car prices for me that allowed for me to see what I wanted to see and meet my budget. Also, the place is new, clean and in the middle of everything. Highly recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic Reykjavik Hotel!"
We loved the City Center Hotel. The location could not have been better, close to restaurants and shopping. The staff was very helpful and we had a great view from our room with a balcony on the 5th floor. The hotel is all newly renovated and the TV in the room has thousands of channels in every language imaginable. Hotel is located on a pedestrians […] only street, so a taxi and bus can't drop it right in front but a half block away, in case you have lots of luggage, something to consider. You can walk to everything from here, we only took a bus to go to the airport. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Loved City Center!"
We just arrived back from Iceland and loved our stay at Citi Center. We were hesitant to book the hotel since it was brand new, but definitely did not regret it. The hotel was very clean, comfortable beds and excellent location (on the main shopping street). The hotel was still under construction during our stay, and the elevator wasnt working but the […] hotel staff took our luggage to/from our room so it was not a problem at all. The front desk was SUPER helpful. During our stay we had to cancel our road trip to the south east because a bridge broke, and the front desk was extremely helpful with canceling our travel reservations and re-booking us in their hotel. One of the nights we wanted to re-book for was sold out, so they found us a nearby hotel with a similar rate to accomidate us. Overall City Center is an excellent hotel. The only negative is that because of its location, on the main shopping/bar strip, its very noisy at night on the weekend. But you will get this with any hotel in that area. I would suggest bringing ear plugs if you are looking for this excellent location, otherwise stay off the main strip. Accross the street from the hotel is a restuarant/bar called The Laudromat Cafe that we loved! There is also a square behind the hotel with live music and great bars/restaurants where most of the nightlife is. I would definitely return to city center! It felt more like a 4 star hotel and I loved every night I stayed there! The hotel looks exactly like the pictures do on the website, they are not fake! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome location and nice hotel once renovations are completed"
I arrived at 8 pm the day of my check in and they had to scramble to see if my room was ready which I found to be odd as I arrived late and then they said the elevator was out which can be a pain with a large suitcase. Come to find out they are doing some major renovations and when I got to my room I could see they were doing a great job. The room was […] all new and very comfortable for a singel traveler. Nice bathroom, good sized comfortable bed and very, very clean! Very impressed with the room with a good selection of English tv channels. And the location, you cannot get any better than this. If you are going to Reykjavik I suggest staying in the city center as it's worth it but if it's in the summer bring some eye shades for night as it doesn't get dark. And the hotel staff was fantastic, very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again especially when the renovations are complete as I'm sure it will be a beautiful hotel with a great location and great staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A solid hotel experience"
We enjoyed it...price was reasonable, staff was helpful, hotel was clean and suited to need. We stayed mid-week so it was quieter so I do not know what a weekend would be like (I hear all downtown Reykjavik hotels are noisy). No breakfast (must buy) but free coffee, a mini bar fridge if ou wnated to get your own milk and a grocery store within spitting […] distance. It's quite eco freindly as well which I appreciated.. "Great central Hotel"
Excellent hotel centrally located. Lovely breakfast, plenty to choose from. Staff excellent! Good size rooms with 2 armchairs. The only thing I would suggest is to ask for a front room located on the top floors. There is a small bar located right next door and we had no problems until Friday night when the patrons kept waking us until 5:30am. All the […] other nights were fine. We were in room 304. "Clean, comfortable and convenient but not so quiet"
I quite enjoyed my weekend at Centre City Hotel. It was modern, clean, very comfortable and reasonably priced. The location is excellent as it's right in the heart of the city, but possibly a little too close to the nightlife. I awoke in the middle of both nights to loud music, shouting and laughter. I'm guessing it was a private party or bar nearby, which […] is great if you're looking for such a thing. If not, bring ear plugs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"City Center Hotel, Reykjavik"
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was quite small, but very clean. No bath tub, but the shower certainly made up for it. The toiletries were great quality, and there were complimentary bath robes and slippers to use. The location was amazing, close to restaurants, shops, tourist info, the harbour, and the main shopping street of Reykjavik. […] There were grocery shops close by, which was handy because breakfast cost 10 Euros. The housekeeping was excessively thorough. Despite the location being so central, I found my street-facing room to be very quiet, with the exception of the night before a holiday. The drunken revellers woke me up a few times, but all in all, a good place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"City Center Hotel Reykjavik:heart of town"
The staff could not have been friendlier even though I arrived before dawn. The room was compact but perfectly appointed with kettle and coffee/tea, english speaking t.v. channels, comfortable bed with decorative throw pillow and bathrobe! Staff went out of their way to verify my tour arrangements and recommended a great restaurant half a block away […] (The Fish Market) which was worth a trip back to Iceland to eat at again. Rain head shower and eco friendly large size bath products. Do not disturb sign and red light on door prevents being woken from your jetlagged sleep. Blow dryer, mini-bar, flat screen t.v., and central location are all positives. Would recommend though the front rooms are not sound proofed so maybe ask for a room at the back. "Great location, great price"
I only spent one night in this hotel. It is in a great location and was very comfortable. Staff were generally helpful. Elevator only went to the fifth floor but my room was on the sixth. Not a problem for me since I didn't have much luggage. Wifi in the rooms didn't work while I was there but it did work in the lobby. Very easy to get around the city […] from the hotel. "City Centre Hotel in Reykjavik"
I booked a twin room from the website-Hotels.com. As I remembered, the price of the room that I booked has included breakfast. The document also shows the room type: twin room, breakfast buffet, free parking. The information was clear fair enough that I've booked a room and also have breakfast and free parking. However, when I checked out, City Centre […] Hotel told me that I had to pay for having breakfast. The hotel knew the situation that the website-Hotels.com provided confused information to the other clients before; nevertheless, they did not inform me when I checked in. I asked the staff if she can see the information regarding my room type has included breakfast or not? She told me she can see the information on their computer system, however, it is 'the customers’ responsibility to understand which type of the room they have booked'. The hotel did not think they should have to take the responsibility at all. The staff kept saying it is the customers’ responsibility to understand the details. The information on the document was clear to me, the argument from the hotel side was that does not show the word ‘include’ in the front of the word ‘breakfast’. Honestly, I was not satisfied with the outcomes that I had to pay the extra fee for the breakfast due to their arguments with the website-Hotels.com. City Centre Hotel should not use the excuse as they do not know which resource we booked the room. Since they have known this problem, they should have to be aware and double confirm with each customer. My mother and I stayed at the hotel for six nights. We had breakfast everyday, thus I had to pay the extra £96 due to the problem between City Centre Hotel and the website-Hotels.com. Apart from this, the hotel was allocated in the city centre, a club was opposite the hotel. The sound proof in the hotel is not good enough to avoid the noise, I stayed at 4th floor, the room felt like shaking with the loud music at midnight. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Midt i smørøyet"
Absolutt verdt å prøveen øl eller to her.

"Bråk i helgene"
