Good value, was about 45 min from Edinburgh but was a lot cheaper than staying in Edinburgh during the tatoo, frindge and just before the festival. Only problem was the internet wasn't working not even in the lobby/bar area.

In Room 4, the owner said this was still to be refurbished but it still was a lovely room, beds comfortable and sheets so clean you could smell the freshness. Shower room was very good, sparklingly clean, nice towels. Breakfast was excellent value, nicely presented and all staff very friendly indeed. Asked for breakfast before 7.15 to 7.30 and told although not able to do cooked breakfast I could have cereal, coffee and toast, I also asked for a packed lunch. No one available to do breakfast until too late and no packed lunch-very hungry and disappointed!

Very good hotel with excellent service and food. Only criticism was the bathroom, no shelf or mirror above the wash basin. A mirror over the toilet is not convenient for shaving! Excellent value for the money.

Room was clean and comfortable enough, but being on the ground floor and front of the Hotel, proved to be noisy from road noise and people walking past the window, and into the restaurant.There were no curtains only venetian blinds at the window, which compromised privacy and allowed street lighting and daylight to intrude.

Stayed here as last minute decision and am pleased we did so. Clean hotel, pleasant staff, food hot and tasty and service very quick. The bed was very comfortable and had best sleep I have had in a hotel for ages. Will definitely use again when working in the area.

Only stayed here overnight, our room had been one of the newly refurbished, very comfortable, staff were very attentive and made my wife and I very welcome, we also enjoyed a wonderful dinner that evening and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast the following morning. after reading other reviews I thought it couldn't be that bad.Wrong. The girl who met us when we first went in was very friendly.Gave us our key and told us where the room was and left us to it..The room was of a reasonable size but had very old tatty decoration ,the most noticable thing was the smell of mould ,.We dropped off our luggage and went to […] Edinburgh.On our return late in the evening we found that the bathroom carpet was soaking and obviously the source of the smell.Too late to do anything then as the hotel was full. Stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and enjoyed my stay however this time I found the hotel tierd and felt my presence was almost an inconvienence to the staff. Room was a convert cupboard poorly decorated, TV had no aerial reception so I was unable to watch anything . Bathroom mirror not fitted onto wall found it very difficult to find somewhere to support […] it so I could use it. Macerator toilet fitted which made a terrible noise even when you ran water to clean your teeth. Breakfast was good however the rest of the hotel let the chef down. Customer sevice Zero this hotel needs a serious revamp inside and with staff. Auf dem Zimmer standen kleine Wasserflaschen, Tee, Kaffee, Tassen und ein Wasserkocher zur Verfügung. Ein Fön und ein Reiseadapter für die Steckdose war auch schon vorhanden. Das Bad war mit Badewanne ausgestattet, es standen verschiedene […] Badezusätze zur Verfügung. Einziges Manko: das Bad war mit Teppich ausgelegt. Aber das war nicht so schlimm. Frühstück war super: wahlweise englisches Frühstück, Toast oder Pancakes. Kaffee, Tee und Säfte. Sur un voyage de 17 jours en Écosse, voici certainement le meilleur rapport qualité / prix. Personnel charmant mais des horaires écossais auxquels on a un peu de mal à s'habituer : le soir fin du service vers 19H30 ! C'est tôt ! Pour le reste, ensemble très correct.
